Start of a 1/3 life size sculpture. Sculpting can be difficult so having a system with steps to follow makes the process much more manageable. Start with the gesture with the armature, then a thin layer of clay over the armature, next a box for the pelvis, an egg shape for the rib cage, and a simplified head. This helps solidify some structures that I can then build on. Day three and a few more hours sculpting this 1/3 scale figure. It’s about 24 inches or 60cm. It’s getting close to the right amount of mass but there are still a few undeveloped areas like the arms. Soon it will be time to start working on the details. I’m about 12 hours in to the process.
