Now that I have your attention, I would like to say something.

A lot happened today. 4 people are dead as of right now, and as far as I am aware, none of them are the terrorists that stormed capitol hill earlier today (I am on the west coast, the day isn't over for me yet). Some are calling them Trump supporters, rioters, and anarchists. I don't agree with the last statement, I think they were sore losers, not anarchists. They weren't denouncing the leaders or government, just what they didn't agree with.

However, they are terrorists. They stormed capitol hill, armed and with malicious intent. It was unnecessary and uncalled for and would not have changed the outcome of either election. The armed officers outside did not do everything they could. It took them almost 5 hours to get the building secure again.

Where was the violence and pushback we saw at the blm protests?? The teargas and rubber bullets amongst everything else they used? As far as I'm aware, they only used flashbangs and smoke grenades. And that was about 2 hours after they breached the building.

The terrorists fought with officers, attacked them with chemicals, and yet they still weren't being shot at. I am appalled, disgusted, and hurt that they were allowed to be there and riot for that long. I am not surprised, but I should be. This should be something that surprises the American people, not something we view as the norm or that we expect. They should be afraid to even attempt to riot at capitol hill, not expect to waltz in without getting shot at.

If anyone thinks this is okay, that they can be violent and not get shot at while people of color get shot while peacefully protesting, then I don't want to talk to you. You are not welcome here, and I will show you the same kind of fear that those terrorists should have experienced.
