Fiverr SEO services - do they work? What're your experiences? https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/d4bkdy/fiverr_seo_services_do_they_work_whatre_your/
I'm fairly new to SEO and have a small website that is getting very little traffic. I've used some free SEO tools to analyze the site and they give some technical things that can be worked on, but nothing that's mindblowing or simple to fix (for me). I get the feeling my 2 main issues are keyword planning, and backlinks. I keep reading how important backlinks are, but nobody really dives into too much detail on how to get them.
So naturally I decided to check out fiverr for some affordable help. Some of the prices/claimed results almost seem too good to be true. But are they? In particular, some of the gigs on there talk about building 100s of legit backlinks from High Authority sites. I'm not quite sure I even understand how that works or the potential implications... but can 1000s of positive reviews of the services be wrong?
I'm always skeptical and ever a lover of learning new things. Feel free to enlighten me with your own experiences or knowledge on this. Or even recommend a service on there for me! This is totally open-ended and all feedback is appreciated! :)

I’ve had a rough time with HostGator. I’m relatively new to the webhosting realm, so I’m hoping you guys can offer me some tips/advice to find my next host!
Tumblr media
For starters, here are the issues I’ve had with HostGator that I hope a new host will resolve:
I once hit their 25%/25 process limit resulting in 500 errors, and they took over a week to provide nearly no support. They were unable to help me pinpoint the problem. I disabled all plugins and had no traffic and still experienced the issue. Then a few days later the problem was gone with no communication from them. I’ve had 20+ plugins enabled since without issue. I’d like a host that can provide better support.
I was told 20 plugins was too many and that it wouldn’t work well with their service… I don’t understand how they expect me to be able to run a custom website without some plugins… their advice was to stick to ~5. Like, that’s barely enough to cover my themes core functionality and nothing else. Maybe I need to learn more about how to do things without plugins, but I don’t see how 20 is “too many” especially when my traffic is so low. So my ideal host will be able to handle my site customizations and not kill/throttle everything when it hits some low-ball limits.
Speed. My site from day one has been slow. Even the WP dashboard has been, and is still super slow. 5-10 seconds to load any new page or save changes. I’ve tried disabling all plugins and it’s still slow (maybe a smidge faster). From a little reading online, it seems HostGator is generally on the slower end… So something faster would be great.
Transparent billing. Lots of things have been unclear with HG, and recently they said my service would renew on 9/7/19… I got charged 2 weeks ago out of the blue. Not cool.
Here’s the template and my answers:
What is your monthly budget?
Ideally under under $10/mo but willing to spend more if the service is worth it.
Where are you/your users located?
We are in USA. Our users are mostly United States
What kind of site are you hosting (WordPress, phpBB, custom software, etc) or what is your use case?
WordPress for a blog and possibly a small amount of ecommerce
Do you have a monthly traffic volume? Estimates are ok.
Currently averaging 20-30 visits/day, and hoping to grow to a few 100/day within the next year
If you’re looking at VPSes: Do you have experience administrating linux servers and infrastructure?
I have zero experience here. I find value in having that stuff offloaded to someone else that knows it.
Did you read the sidebar/check out the hosts listed there? I’ve personally vetted these companies and their services are a good fit for 99% of people.
I looked at the companies, but I’m pretty unfamiliar with what I’m looking at/for, which is why I am posting here
Tumblr media
Please feel free to ask me questions, and thanks in advance for your help!
