I was lurking on Weibo and I found some really interesting satosugu crumbs that I won’t be able to stop thinking about!!

I’m not gonna translate everything, but the gist of this post is that Geto seems to be intentionally written as queer or at least not straight. OP is talking about the “Inoue Waka” scene where Geto asks Gojo if he changed his wallpaper. This is funny because most straight guys would probably engage in some locker room banter upon seeing a popular actress’s photo on their friend’s phone screen. Especially with Inoue who is a “gravure idol” AKA a type of model who primarily models for men’s magazines? Yet Geto’s first reaction was to point out that Gojo changed his wallpaper. Aside from the fact that Geto was observant enough to notice Gojo’s phone wallpaper, it’s interesting how Gojo… had to tell him who she is? Like OP suggests most boys who routinely read men’s magazines would know Inoue. For your reference this is the type of media Inoue typically appeared in:

I don’t think this scene alone definitively proves that Geto isn’t interested in women. IMO it seems like Geto’s “model student” status is being emphasised here more instead, as he isn’t the type to consume celebrity content. But when you add this to the other list of moments that hint at Geto’s non-straightness (See: him avoiding Yuki’s question TWICE)… Gege definitely made some interesting choices with him.

Say what you want about the Geto-Maki dynamic but I find Maki using Playing Cloud so… poetic? Like Geto accepted his defeat (and was probably never expecting to succeed anyway) in the end but the one thing Kenjaku couldn’t steal from him was his weapon? That Maki used in the fight against him (Kenny)? So Geto was fighting alongside the sorcerers in a way.
