Ok ok I need to talk about an au

I was thinking of an Undertale x Payday au that I call Underpaid and it's basically like something causes the Payday universe to collide into the Undertale universe. Everything gets messed up and now the Payday characters are in the Undertale universe. (I'm putting the rest of this after the break cuz it's long)

When the player first starts. The characters act like themselves but are like "what the actual fuck is happening where the hell am I what am I wearing?" Throughout the game the characters start to act like the character they are replacing ie. if Dallas were to replace Sans, Dallas would randomly act more like Sans for a bit before getting confused and going back to normal. It's like the game is confused and is trying to correct the new characters so they act like the old ones.

The "backstory" would be basically the same except the cops replace the humans and the Payday gang replaces the monsters. On the surface, the gang thought the government was corrupt and tried to be modern day Robin Hoods while the cops saw them as thieves. They fight and the gang is locked underground without anything. Their weapons and tools are confiscated.

As for who is who, here's what I have so far. I'll edit this post in the future if I make any changes.

Frisk: a basic cop like maybe a security gaurd or one of the blue cops you see on like normal difficulty.

Chara: not sure yet. I played around with the idea of it being the Dentist but that makes no sense at all since he was never close to being a good person ever. Then maybe Bob McKendrick cuz the gang wanted him to become mayor but I don't really know. For now, no one is Chara yet.

Toriel: Right now I like the idea of Chains being Toriel, though I have no clue who would be Asgore if Chains were to be Toriel. I really want Chains to be Toriel tho

Napstablook: I don't really have anyone in mind. Once I thought Hoxton should be Napstablook then I thought Wolf should be Napstablook then I gave them different roles and now I don't know who Blooky should be.

Sans: Dallas because he has a brother. Also he is kinda memed by his fandom.

Papyrus: Houston because he has a brother.

Undyne: Hoxton. He's got that fighting spirit like Undyne. Also it fits with who I replace Alphys with. They gay for each.

Alphys: Wolf. The both make machines and Wolf can be shy and quiet at times.

Mettaton: Sentry turret. The sentry is sentient I make the rules. I know in Undertale it's implied Mettaton is a ghost fused with a robot body but I want it like this.

Asgore: I have no clue who I'd pair with Chains tbh. Maybe Chains's girlfriend from the John Wick trailer but like she only appears for a couple seconds and nothing is really known about her.

Asriel & Flowey: I like the idea of Bain being Asriel but now that I think of it, it doesn't make the most sense (not that this au makes any sense at all) I really want Bain to be Asriel though so he is Asriel. As for Flowey, I can't think of anything that could represent Bain. My friend suggested her "oc" (more like Bain's alter ego or the alien part of him Bain is an alien it is canon please believe me) which I do like the sound of. If I can't think of anything better I might go with him. His name is Beo. I also thought of like a blue flower but Beo is more interesting.

Grillby: Gage. He ends up working at a bar which he isn't too pleased about but makes due cuz he can't really do anything about it.

Mad Dummy: I don't really know maybe someone stuck in a Bulldozer suit. Maybe Rust. He's grumpy and insignificant.

Muffet: Totally Vlad. Was gonna be Gage because he sells stuff but Vlad totally fits Muffet's role. He's crazy and he has a bakery.

Annoying Dog: Seal because my au and I love seals

If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. This is such an incomplete au and I would love to hear what others think.

Technically not the og version but when I think of this meme, this is the format I think of. Obviously I changed what characters were where. But that was so it was easier to understand who was saying what.

Also here’s the image with no lighting/shading or any other effects, because I want to point out a few things:

First of all Wolf’s red ribbon on his wrist. It’s a reference to Jar’s Basement Brothers, au headcanon thing (IDK what it counts as but I like it)

So credit goes to them!

Next I want to say that I do have fun with shipping them; which is why I made them super blushy(It was not just a coloring mistake/design choice/art style).

This is also why they have bracelets that have the other’s mask colors.

Third I didn’t realize it at the time but looking back through the Off Shore scene I now realize that Hoxton’s necklace is that of a fish. But at the time I just thought it was a gem so I spent so much time trying to figure it out. I used reference a Yellow Topaz in a briolette cut.

I even made a little headcanon about it being a lucky charm from the first jewelry store they robbed together.

But no it’s a fish.

Ghost Hoxton AU has 3 possible endings depending on how things go down.

Ending 1: Houston, out of options and desperate to save his brother, does something to his own soul, then grabs onto Hoxton so the two's souls will be erased from existence together.

Ending 2: Houston manages to talk Hoxton out of the influence of the Nephilim, and Hox more or less just stays around the safehouse harmlessly, actually happy to be with his crew again.

Ending 3: Hoxton finds a magic spell and tries to use it to become a god, and Houston interferes, causing the two to become eternally clashing deities.

Ghost Hoxton AU Mean Thought

Okay, do you remember how Hoxton somehow gets Houston's physical body a burn scar to match his own out of spite? What if he forced Dallas to do it with the threat of killing Houston (thus trapping him in the Nightmare World forever) to "punish" his former friend for replacing him? And that was what made Houston angry enough (and justifiably so) to unlock the power he got as the first soul trapped there that didn't actually do anything to deserve being there? Not because of what happened to his face, but because this son of a bitch just hurt his big brother?

Houston has taken to watching Wolf’s kids. Just in case. Hoxton learning this resulted in the following exchange.

Hoxton: ...you think I'd hurt Wolf's kids just because I'm pissed off that the Gang left me to get arrested and didn’t come for me? WHAT THE HELL KIND OF SICK PSYCHOPATH DO YOU THINK I AM?! Ghost AU “Fun” Fact

Hoxton can’t actually beat Houston. The two would be locked in an eternal stalemate. So how does he keep Houston from being a problem? Why, by pulling Dallas into the Prison Nightmare and making it absolute hell for him, of course! Houston will drop anything to keep Dallas safe, and as he is currently a revenge-crazed spirit, Hox has absolutely zero qualms about exploiting this. Besides, technically this counts as revenge on Dallas too.

Ghost!Hoxton AU Lore

Houston took to his new power well. Scarily well. "The Necro World may like what it sees" well.

Before revealing that he was going to trap Houston in the Necro World, Hoxton asked Dallas, "How much do you love your brother, friend?"

Houston has a serious crush on Clover, but he hasn't told her yet. He doesn't plan to, either. Not when there's an insane ghost that's already got history with her on the loose.

Houston and Hoxton have entities tied to their driving emotions that they can use like Stands. Houston's is named Kay and she's tied to his love/willpower. Hoxton's is named Tee and she's tied to his rage.

Matt Roscoe and Hector are kept in a prison-like labyrinth full of unknown traps. Sometimes Hoxton will check up on them JUST to see how much it hurts.

Given that he's Dallas's brother and that's explicitly a huge reason he's trapped, Houston believes that Hoxton will end up not being satisfied with just the ones he sees as responsible for his death, but he'll end up going after their loved ones as well. As a result, he's looked through their minds and started keeping tabs on the appropriate people.

Hoxton may have stopped by the real world after his first real fight with Houston to take care of something small ("If you want to replace me, you should probably look like me, Lover Boy.").

Wolf took the news about Hoxton's death the hardest.

Ghost!Hoxton AU Fun Fact: Hox calls Wolf "Love," "Darling," and other terms of endearment. Given his mental state and openly-stated goals, Houston has taken this as a cue to guard the Swede more zealously.

Ghost!Hoxton AU, a Peaceful Conversation

I imagine a peaceful talk (well, peaceful in that Houston doesn’t attack Hoxton for imprisoning him and Hoxton doesn’t attack Houston for being his replacement) takes place between Prison Nightmare sessions.

Houston is just floating in the city Hoxton made, alight with a purple glow. He does have his spear, but it’s on his back instead of in his hands. And he fiddles with the green chains around him idly. He already knows they won’t come off, but they won’t fry his hand if he touches them, so why not? Hoxton appears next to him, and when Houston immediately grabs the spear, ready to attack at even the slightest movement he doesn’t like, he responds with putting his hands up. “I’m not here to fight you. Not now.” Houston tenses up. Kay, the spectre he created unintentionally that serves as his companion and his voice since Hoxton stripped him of it in a triumphant rage when they met, manifests behind him and replies. “Given why I’m here at all, you’ll forgive me for not believing you. Or maybe not; you didn’t forgive me for something that I didn’t do, after all.” “Believe what you want, but wouldn’t it be nice to rest and not have to face down God for a few hours? Before you decide to do it to save Dallas?” Houston sneers. “You’re not God. You’re a dead guy with more power than he deserves and too much time on his hands.” “And a good reason to use it. Did Dallas ever tell you about me, Lover Boy? How we met? How we parted?” Houston frowns. “Not a word.” “Alright. Let me enlighten you.” Hoxton summons a mirror in front of the two, and as he speaks, the mirror seems to draw what he says. “We met when we were both getting started. Well, for him, getting started doing solo stuff.” “After I sheltered him from the mob, I presume,” comes the reply, and the sky darkening indicates that it’s a rough memory for him. “You did what?” “Long story. Anyway, continue.” “...right. Anyway, we met Wolf and Chains not long after, and the four of us started wreaking havoc. Doing heists, making a name for ourselves, the works. Such a name that the feds wanted us gone. Specifically, they wanted Dallas gone since he was the leader. But they...” He scowls, and his eyes glow that same sickly green Houston hates. “They settled for me. Fucking settled. The others left me behind, and the feds locked me up in jail to satisfy the public.” Houston winces. “Ouch. That sucks.” Hoxton smiles, and it twists his face into something horrific. “I got the rat who set me up. Ripped out his tongue and locked him up. I trust you saw him before you wandered off?” The escape has been a sore spot for Houston since it took place, and any feelings that aren’t hostile vanish once Hoxton throws it in his face. “Wandered off? You mean, broke out of that hellhole and you decided to throw a tantrum and disfigure my face with boiling water?” Houston glares, floating in front of his captor. “You know damn well I didn’t deserve that.” The smile widens, and Hoxton gestures to the half of his prisoner’s face this was done to. “You wanted to be Hoxton, didn’t you? This comes with the territory. You can even go out the way I did too, once Dallas fails. One swift kick to the head.” Houston hesitates, calming back down. “Roscoe, right?” “Yep. He was the first one I put down once I figured out how to get out of here.” “I can respect that. I’d probably have done the same thing. In both cases.” “But you’re still gonna try to stop me from this, aren’t you?” Houston sighs. “Natha- Dallas is my brother. I have to protect him.” A scoff. “You sentimental idiot. And the others?” “If I can, I will. But that reminds me. Why are you so creepy with Wolf? Did you two have a history?” Hoxton tenses. “...this conversation is over. I’ll see you tonight.” He’s gone before Houston can protest, and the heister sighs before resuming his watch over the city. Kay puts her hands on his shoulders and just stays like that, trying to calm the negative emotions that manifest in his body as a quickly beating heart.
