5, 18, 21 for Thread!
Thank you for asking! I actually had a bit of detail on Thread and their members, though they weren't as fleshed out as some of my other "villain" warbands. I hope you enjoy!
5. What is the warband known for?
Thread was an Ash Warband known for their research into ghosts! They were one of many warbands that was working on permanent solutions to the ghost problem in Ascalon - rather than just temporarily destroying or containing them. Thread was notable among their peers for having extensive breadth of knowledge, especially in regards to ancient magic and rituals. They would often travel the world, consult with experts, explore ancient ruins, and do whatever they could to get their paws on relics, rituals, tomes, scrolls, anything that might give them an edge against the ghosts.
18. For warbands that are no longer a thing (broke up or mostly dead): how did it happen?
Thread has been entirely killed, unfortunately.
The official story is that they went a little too far outside of the Legions in the course of their research, right around the time that Bangar was just getting ready to split off. This stoked concerns that they were preparing to defect, there was some miscommunications, and they were unfortunately slain before the truth of their allegiance could be revealed.
The context that's left out of the official story is that Thread were, in the course of their research, actively experimenting on and killing several other warbands, using the political tensions as cover. They were also partnering with some real bad folks in the process, whether or not they shared the same goals. While the division was not as extreme while they were alive, they probably would have leaned Dominion, so perhaps their extermination wasn't as unjustified as it seems.
Additionally, they were holding on to a powerful artifact that was needed to break a curse on another Warband, and they didn't want to share, which probably factored into the decision to kill them.
(( Thread was one of those "they look like bad guys, they're doing bad things, we killed them, oh shoot they were undercover good guys, now we have to prove that they were up to some bad juju to clear our names" situations for Lunar. In the end, they had good intentions (for the Charr, at least) but did some messed up things in the process, worked with some bad people, and were led a bit astray by a traitor in their ranks. Does that earn their fate? It's a grey area, and was meant to be. ))
21. Did any relationship bloom between members of the warband?
Thread was a fairly tight-knit group, and I think that there would have been some feelings that would have veered towards the intimate. I didn't necessarily create them with salacious backstories in mind, but in the retrospective, I think that Ghostthread and Fatethread would have probably had the strongest connection, and would probably be the most comfortable being openly intimate/affectionate.
Among the others, nothing's set in stone but I think as far as relationships, romantic or otherwise, it's likely that Steelthread and Manethread probably had a very budding connection, and were probably fond of each other, but not enough to say anything openly. They're both the type to keep their emotions under wraps, so I think there'd only be subtle signs of gentleness between the two of them. They may have felt a yearning, but nothing coming of it yet.
With time, Loosethread and Cutthread may have developed something. They were both necromancers, though of fairly different schools of thought, and I think there was a friendly rivalry there. I think that they would have been rather close, though I don't know that it would have become anything more than platonic.
(( Ultimately, they were NPCs fated to die for the plot, so they didn't get as thorough of a story as they may have deserved to explore these bonds. That said, Thread always felt very... close, to me, very family-like and comfortable with each other. ))

It was about time she confront her fear of Alfred reacting adversely, and so to his work desk she came, invisibly carrying a coke bottle with her in an attempt to soften the blow a bit. Setting it on the desk- before reluctantly making herself visible.

The judges are silhouettes. The law is inked in vanished panels. Txt2Image: torn comic panel, glitch overlays, pulp courtroom, jungle glyphs, echo fog, redacted faces, spectral dialogue boxes, neon mist, vintage sci-fi textures

You rise as your speech bubble flickers violently. The echo silhouettes lean forward. The judge’s voice crawls in from a corrupted frequency: 🧬 “You are charged with narrative contamination. How do you plea, when your continuity cannot be verified?” The courtroom shudders. You feel panels collapse somewhere behind your spine.

Title: ⛓️ GHOSTTHREAD: REDACTED JUDGMENT — TRIAL LOOP 0071 Txt2Image: glitch overlays, torn comic panel, pulp courtroom, redacted faces, echo fog, spectral dialogue boxes, jungle glyphs, neon mist, vintage sci-fi textures
You stand in the memory-bleached courtroom of Vault 86-B. Twelve faceless echoes watch from the pews, heads cocked in perfect unison. The judge is only a shadow stitched from closing arguments. The walls flicker between vine-choked temples and broadcast towers. A panel above reads: “CHARGED WITH BEING OUT-OF-CHARACTER.” You do not remember the role.
🔢 Choices 1️⃣ Plead Memory Error – Blame a corrupted update. Glitch honestly. 2️⃣ Confess to All Frames – Admit to every version of yourself. 3️⃣ Counter with Echo Law – Invoke precedent from an erased issue. 4️⃣ Request Visual Render – See your current pane before deciding.
