If you prefer something older we have a c. 1943 Gibson EH-125 Tube Amplifier for you. - This rarely seen version of the EH-125 amplifier was only available in this period; the catalog model is virtually identical except for showing a 6-tube chassis configuration. This amp features 3 inputs; two microphone and one instrument, along with a single volume control for the microphone input only. The push-pull dual-6V6 power section puts out around 10-12 watts into a field-coil speaker, somewhat less powerful than its far more celebrated big brother the EH-150, and has a lower-wattage cleaner but still attractively snarly tone when pushed. - - - - #gibsonamp #gibsoneh125 #eh125 #tubeamplifier #vintagetubeamp #gibsunday #tubeamps #tubeampsrock (at Retrofret Vintage Guitars) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoS2_e8O3xm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Gibson Skylark GA-5 Amplifier (1964) Works great, I have a sound recording if you want to hear it. Cranked up this amp will get a nice dirty sound. Hand is in the back but is not attached. More pics, please DM to purchase or if you need more pics or questions. $325 #sturgisantiques #gibsonamp #gibsonskylarkamp #vintageamp #guitaramp #forsale (at Sturgis Antiques & Collectables)

1965 #Gibson #GA17 RVT #Scout #amp 1961 Gibson #LesPaul Junior I am still buzzing from last weekend's epiphany that you don't have to spend $2,000 or more to get a great amp. As mentioned in previous posts, this Scout is the least expensive (by several hundred dollars) #vintageamp I have ever bought, costing 1/4 to 1/6th the price of many of the vintage Fenders I have bought in the past. And yet it sounds as good as any of them...albeit "different"... Some thoughts so far: Pros: 1) PRICE - for an all original mid 60s amp in good condition, the price is substantially less expensive relative to other #vintageamps made by #Fender. 2) Headroom - it's super crisp and clean right up until about 8 or 9 on the volume knob. If I used pedals I would say "takes pedals well!" 😂 3) Looks - no, I am not shallow! My main thing is taking pictures - I don't want gear that isn't photogenic! 🤣 Cons: Stuff I found, um, not actually "bad" about the amp, but let's just say stuff I needed to get "used to": 1) No #tone or tremolo blend controls - the amp is set to permanent bright and you have to use your #guitar tone knob to darken it. Similarly, the trem is either "on" at full intensity, or "off". There is no mixing or blending it in with the signal. This is a minor issue for me as I use my guitar tone knob anyway (I almost never touch the amp tone control), and on the rare occasions I do use tremolo, I pretty much always use it on full blast anyway. 2) Sound - the sound is definitely "different" from what I am used to. It is super crisp and clear...almost TOO clear! At lower volumes it feels a bit anemic and thin. However, if you pump it up to past halfway the thinness fills out nicely (but stays clean). Again not a huge issue for me because I tend to turn all my amps all the way up and then use my guitar volume control to keep the volume apartment-friendly...I just find all amps sound better this way To me the pros FAR outweigh the cons and I will be looking for more #Gibsonamps going forward! #gibsonamp #vintageamp #vintageguitar #vintagegibson #guitarphotography #guitars #gibsonguitar #gibsonlespaul #sgjunior #lespauljunior

Also just in is a 1947 Gibson BR-3 Tube Amplifier! - (Link in profile). - Right after WWII ended, Gibson started production on the first set of BR series amps, the first new designs since 1940. These were rather stop gap designs (and not designed by Barnes & Reinicke, despite the BR designation), being still very much a pre-war amps internally. The BR-3 model was the most short-lived and one of the rarest amps of the group; available production records show that only a total of 79 of these amps were produced in 1946! - - - - #gibsonbr3 #gibsonamp #gibsonamplifier #tubeamplifier #tubeampsofinstagram #tubeamplifiers #tubeampsforthepeople #gibsunday (at Retrofret Vintage Guitars) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpazqVsOqfX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

If you ever wanted a #guitar / #amp pairing with MAXIMUM twang...you are looking at it! 1968 #Fender #Telecaster leaning on a 1965 #Gibson #GA17 RVT Scout #amplifier. Sometime in the later 60s Fender changed Teles to 1000K ohm pots (I think they were 250k ohm pots before?) which made these guitars super bright. The higher the value of the pot, the more high frequencies in the signal get through to the amp. So, as you can imagine, a LOT more treble is getting passed to the output jack by 1000k pots than with lower resistance pots! And don't even get me started on the #CrestlineAmp! 🤣 It's like Gibson said "let's sit down and design the absolute cleanest, crispest, brightest-sounding amp money can buy!". This actually makes sense if you are playing a Gibson with full-sounding P90s or fat, dark-sounding, humbuckers. It's a tad more migraine-inducing if you are pairing it with a late 60s, 1000k ohm-potted #Tele, possibly the brightest sounding guitar ever devised by mankind! 😆 Together, they are almost noggin-splittingly bright. This would probably be just fine if you play chicken-pickin' style and really need to cut through a crowded mix! But ham-fistedly playing hackneyed Led Zep riffs here, by myself, in my living room, it ain't ideal! To mitigate the treble, I keep the Tele on the neck pickup, the tone rolled almost all the way off and the amp turned up above "5" (it only develops it fullest sound in the higher volume ranges). This amp has no tone control, so tone control has to be done at the guitar end. I then back the guitar volume off as needed, to keep the neighbours happy. Even then it's still pretty damn bright though... 😂 Straps by @tomsvintagestraps. #fenderfriday #guitarphotography #vintageguitar #fenderguitar #guitars #guitarra #electricguitar #vintagefender #guitarre #chitarra #fendertelecaster #teletuesday #gibsonamp #amp #guitar #guitars #ampphotography #vintageamp #tubeamp #amps #guitaramp
