You can kill his daughter and hes like whatever about it. Hes got some sort of gay tension going on with half the roundtable hold. Hes got terrible posture. His boss fight is either piss easy or utter agony no inbetween. Hes probably divorced lets be real here. He was buried in ears. He dedicates his life to becoming lord and then at last second changes his mind and tries to kill you.

All the theories calling him the villain. No i just think hes a funny loser who is mean . I love him

I want to read my books! But I can't decide which books to read. Do I read the Classics books for that essay I've been talking about for a year? Or those short, short old-school science fiction novels I keep picking up at Friends of the Library sales, to see if I really want to/have the skills to write that series about Gideon and Pacifica in the multiverse that I keep having ideas for? Or books about Renaissance magic, in the vague hopes of someday writing that thing I had an idea for like two years ago about Lorenzo de Medici being a gay wizard? Or the science books, just because? Or that weird little gaggle of books about prehistoric and Anglo-Saxon Britain I got last year and I can't remember why I did that? Or - ?

“Did you say ‘Wormie’?” Fennec asks, making them jump.

Luke flushes dark and glowers at Cobb, who shrugs and says, “Told you, I can’t promise I won’t slip up.”

He covers his face with his hand, muttering, “You had to do it in front of an assassin?”

“A what?” Cobb demands while Fennec opens her eyes and leans forward in one practiced motion.

“So you do know who I am.”

“I’ve heard of you. Just didn’t have a face for the name until a few hours ago,” Luke replies. “You used to work for the Hutts.”

“I worked for a lot of people—that is, until the New Republic either arrested them or drove them so deep underground that not even I could find them,” she replies. “Ran into Mando here when he was helping some fresh-faced rookie get into the guild by bringing me in. Have to admit, that kid was smarter than he looked. Shot me while I was trying to talk him into letting me go and left me for dead. I’m guessing Mando took care of him.”

“You told him too much and put us in danger,” Din replies, remembering that cold sharp pang of fear when he saw Toro stepping out of his ship with Grogu in his clutches and Peli at the end of his pistol.

“Just trying to save my own ass by setting him on a more priceless bounty,” she says with a smile that doesn’t reach her eyes. “But that’s all in the past.”

“He said you helped save Grogu from Moff Gideon,” Luke says.

“We made a promise and we kept it,” Fennec replies. “That makes us even, doesn’t it?”

Cobb stares between the three of them and then shakes his head. “Is there anything else I should know? Anything this small town marshal should be aware of before we land?”

Din shrugs. “No idea.”

Grogu yawns and leans out of his arms, reaching for Luke. “Buir.”

Din is suddenly, extremely aware of how closely Fennec watches him as he passes Grogu over to Luke. He grimaces, bracing for the questions while watching Grogu settle against Luke and murmur sleepily.

“So,” Fennec slowly says. “That’s Mando’a? What does it mean? I asked Fett and he just laughed.”

He sighs. “It means ‘father or ‘mother’. Mando’a doesn’t differentiate between the two.”

Fennec arches an eyebrow. Cobb stares at him and then at a very silent Luke.

“I give up. I have no idea what’s going on anymore,” the marshal mutters and covers his face with a hand. “Wake me up when we get there.”

Ooooooh I love this ask already. Haven't thought about this passage in a while but I loved writing it. Could see where I can clean it up, though, but no, we're not doing a round of revisions for The Suns anytime soon, brain. Not today, Satan!

Honestly I was setting this up all the way back in Chapter 3. Cobb.

“A what?” Cobb demands while Fennec opens her eyes and leans forward in one practiced motion.

I remember trying to figure out how to make Fennec's motions very practiced and smooth without fucking up the string of words to describe what's in my head. Like, this sentence really sticks out for me.

“So you do know who I am.” “I’ve heard of you. Just didn’t have a face for the name until a few hours ago,” Luke replies. “You used to work for the Hutts.”

In which Luke is/was also playing catchup to the "Din Djarin is Desperately Trying to be an NPC" show. He's like the awkward ride showing up to a house party, awkwardly sidling into that house, pointing to Grogu, and saying, "Just here to pick him up," to the gaggle of partygoers staring at him.

Plucking this out because while it's just a real quick summary of that S1 episode from Fennec's POV, I also wrote this before TBOBF dropped so it was interesting revisiting and then thinking about what happened after both Toro and Din left her for dead. It's gonna be real interesting figuring out how to undo/redo the events of TBOBF and slot them into the 3quelfic.

Cobb stares between the three of them and then shakes his head. “Is there anything else I should know? Anything this small town marshal should be aware of before we land?”

One of my favorite takes on Cobb is that he knows he's in a Star Wars but he didn't realize he was in that Star Wars. It's the "Cobb's expression when Din tells him he volunteered the whole village" moment.

“So,” Fennec slowly says. “That’s Mando’a? What does it mean? I asked Fett and he just laughed.” He sighs. “It means ‘father or ‘mother’. Mando’a doesn’t differentiate between the two.”

Fennec is once again fishing for more deets to use later, so Din decides to just rip the band aid off and get it over with. It's more like... a multi-faceted reveal, though. So now everyone on the ship knows Grogu considers Din and Luke to be his parents, Din and Luke are in a relationship, the kid chooses to use Mando'a which is now an endangered language, and Din is accepting/talking about it as a Normal Thing.

... I think. Something like that. Maybe.

A train blasted through the tunnel and along the platform, and Adri and Gideon had to halt their conversation to board. The crowds were heavy tonight, which meant Gideon and Adri were squashed between a gaggle of men in work suits and several women in mini skirts reeking of perfume. When the train jolted, Gideon’s shoulder rubbed up against Adri’s, and he nearly grabbed her to steady himself. He was overly aware of her next to him, and this confirmed his belief that Adri having four inches on him was not a deal breaker. He’d always dated shorter women, but it wasn’t a requirement. Then he realized he was not going to date Adri and that he needed to stop imagining that he might. Best try to think of baseball instead.

Once back at the hotel room, Adri changed into something more comfortable. All Gideon did was remove the suit jacket and put on a pair of Converse tennis shoes. Adri emerged from the bathroom in a tank top and high-waisted jeans, the same kind Heather had been wearing at dinner. Gideon though of pointing that out, then decided not to. Fuck those people. He was happy to forget about their existence.

They got ice cream first, then drinks at a bar and restaurant with outdoor seating on 16th Street. Unlike at dinner, where Adri had been buttoned up and professional to a fault, now Gideon could sense her loosening up and laughing easier. She wasn’t done roasting Heather McLaughlin’s clothing line or Frank Monet’s $30 lipsticks, and Gideon was pleasantly surprised at how opinionated Adri could get with a little alcohol in her. She really did care about the quality and ethics of the clothing she designed, and she held herself to the high standard she expected of others. Gideon liked watching people argue passionately about the things they loved, even when he barely had an opinion to offer. Sometimes Adri could come off as cold and packaged for public consumption, but tonight she was on fire, intense, joyful, ablaze with color and expression. The longer the night went and the drunker Gideon felt, the more his gut twisted up with desire. He wanted her in whatever way she’d have him, either kissing her sweetly goodnight or fucking her facedown into a mattress, didn’t matter. Keeping his hands to himself felt like a monumental struggle, and he kept catching himself staring at her mouth. Intellectually he was still torn, but physically there was no confusion. No matter what gender he was supposedly attracted to, no matter what gender she was, he would’ve killed someone in that moment to have her.

But Adri was practiced as ever, and when they left the bar and headed back to their hotel around midnight, she made no offer or sign that she felt the same way, and that night they ended up in separate beds. Gideon regretted coming. Was he trying to torture himself? More exposure only made the infatuation worse. At the same time, he couldn’t have told her no, and he would have hated himself if he had. He’d suffered various other rejections and indignities in his life, so he’d make do. When he got home, he’d try dating again, as much as he loathed the concept. He couldn’t go on like this.

Gideon needs his side burns. Matthew also needs his side burns KEY CHARACTER FEATURE (other people could care less) They mean so much to me I think the side burns are trying to say something about the people with them In my opinion they could mean two things

Males in the franchise with a bigger ego and more confidence have them

Males in the franchise that carry more manly traits have them (I also noticed that Stephen Stills and one of the twins (the black haired one) have side burns.) Lucas, Gideon, Matthew, Stephen, and the one twin. And those are for the more oftenly shown characters, there are probably others with side burns, but those are the ones I remember and the ones with bigger roles Which could be a third reason

Men with bigger roles have them????? Maybe. Though if we put that logic to them, we'd have to apply it to Scott, Wallace, other twin, Todd, and so on.
