Basketball at Dusk - Emotional Experience 3 (4/10)
Small note: Renren has a Chinese speech quirk, which I decided to adapt by adding CN sentence markers at the end of most her dialogues.
Please check the masterlist post for more details!
Featured characters: Asuka, Himari, Renren
Location: Courtyard
Asuka: Trying out for other ball game clubs was a bust, huh...
Himari: Mm... Well, Mochimochi. With you not knowing the rules of anything other than basketball, what did you think was going to happeeen?
Asuka: Even if you tell me that, I only have eyes for basketball, okay!?
I've become friends with the basketball ball, so at this point, I can't go having affairs with other balls!
Himari: You'd call playing other ball games an affair...?
Since it's come to this, how about the judo club or the kendo club? Nearby the archery club?
Here and there and everywhere, there's just strong-looking gals, huh?
Back when Jimejime's arrow hit me, I thought I was gonna die... So maybe it's not too smart to go through with this?
Asuka: Yeah. There are lots of strong-looking people all around the place, isn't that right~?
Himari: Ah, that's it.
Asuka: ...What's it?
Himari: What you said just reminded me of something.
Ryusenji Renren from the karate club always practices alone in the woods, it seems.
Maybe she'd like having a partner to practice wiiith?
Asuka: S-She practices all alone!?
She seems kind of a pro at what she does, so is it fine for me to go help her?
I don't mind helping people, but I'm scared of getting hurt~!
Himari: Yep. You don't need to worry about thaaat ♪
If I remember right, Ryusenji Renren...
She looks up to the kendo club's Sanjo Gin as her master, so she shouldn't be that strong!
Asuka: Th, then... It's okay for me to go?
If things go sour, I'll hold a grudge against you, y'know?
Himari: No, that'd be bad for me! This is just stuff I heard from other people anyway!
Even if you get hurt or something, I can't go as far as to take responsibility for iiit!
Asuka: Hh, hmm...? Then what am I supposed to do?
Himari: That is something you must decide by and for yourself!
Are you fine with doing nothing at all, though, Mochimochi?
With things staying this way, with you not understanding Komatsu Botan's feelings...?
Asuka: ...R-Right. I can't chicken out here, can I...
Alright! I've made up my mind!
I'll help out with the karate club's practice, and then I'll become able to understand how Komacchi-senpai feels!
Himari: Good! That's the spiriiit!
Over there's the forest where Ryusenji Renren practices! Let's go take a look ☆
Asuka: H-Hang on just a second!
Since you mentioned it's the karate club, I did think I'd have to change clothes and put on a singlet, but what the heck is this!?
T-The length is so short, you can see my panties!
And why is Ryusenji-senpai's China dress longer than mine!? That's so unfair!
Himari: Don't mind, don't mind! Go get on with practiceee ☆
Renren: That's right, ba~? These were the only clothes that fit Momochi-san's size, so it couldn't be helped, ne.
Now then, it's been a long time since I was last able to use my techniques against an opponent, le ♪
Ufufu. You better get ready-ne, Momochi-san ♪
Asuka: S-Stop looking at me with that bold smirk!
You too, student council president, aren't you gonna help me instead of just watching over me from afar!? Is there anyone on my side here!?
Himari: D-Do your beeest ☆
Asuka: You keep acting like this is all none of your business!
Renren: There's no need for you to worry so much, ba? I'll make sure to go easy on you.
Just let yourself go with the flow, ba~?
Asuka: Don't get into a combat-ready pose while you're saying all those nice things to me!
N-No good! I'm gonna get killed at this rate...!
(But... Even if Komacchi-senpai gets caught up in this kind of situation, she still acts as support for the other clubs, doesn't she...)
(Maybe, even Komacchi-senpai has something she feels afraid of.)
(But she has never, ever shown that side of herself at all.)
(She just eats sweets and acts nothing but laid-back.)
(I don't hate that kind of Komacchi-senpai.)
(On the contrary. Aloof and detached, some kinda beastlike genius — I think that Komacchi-senpai is cool.)
(I'll do my best too. To become more like Komacchi-senpai... I've gotta stand up to her, no way around it.)
(So that I may catch up to the person I admire, even if just a little.)
Renren: Oh? Momochi-san... The look in your eyes has changed, a?
Asuka: I've gotta show some face for the basketball club, at least!
I decided I'm doing this, so I'm gonna show you I can see it through!
Renren: I like the look in your face, ya ♪ Looks like we'll be having some fun ♪
Asuka: H-Here she comes!

WHOS UR FAVE ENGIRL, i know a bit about the series but not as much as i should....
HELLO HI GIN SANJO!!! 100%!!!! her thing of preserving her youth through force and fighting is soooo neat and her zero guilt over it too, imagine if madara did not feel bad about killing because he's doing it for survival. that's gin. i am also so fascinated by the girl she failed to project that she feels immense guilt over and her role instead of trying to protect what the place that girl wanted. AND the way she is actually pretty smart but doesnt flaunt it because she just wants to have fuuuun and be a teenagerrrr in the year before but now i believe she's trying to NOT inherit all the stuff she's expected to which should also stop the guys after her... so cool!!! killer design too, on principle

top 5 ensemble girls characters
YESSSS
1. gin sanjo - unrepentant on fighting to survive but the guilt of the girl she failed to live has not yet left her. she’s working on it though.
2. shion minemiya - one of the three inhuman ones. control of narrative was everything to her but she chose to be an observer
3. tsubasa hamori - professional idol who is secretly a conniving soldier who swears quite a lot. also heavy guilt regarding getting tsubasa involved in herself. also incomprehensible choices on who she wants to attach to.
4. ruri amamiya - purposely put on alien persona to cope with the pain of no one understanding her. adores space physics, especially the equations and is so scarily advanced in that subject that no one can come close to her. considers murder because she’s so lonely, so lonely… her relationship to hotori :’)
THIS IS SO HARD… BUT ILL GIVE IT TO
5. maria yumeji - shes roman catholic. she resorts to her childlike self with her childhood friend. she speaks directly to god when annoyed and to the lord when she’s genuinely praying. she doesn’t understand how to have fun and may feel as if shes being left behind. she’s roman catholic.
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!!

Shueisha Plans Weekly Shonen Jump's Three-Part 50th Anniversary Exhibitions in Tokyo
Shueisha today launched an official website and Twitter for the upcoming three-part 50th anniversary exhibition for its signature manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump to reveal more details including the 63 titles for its first selection. The top-selling Japanese manga magazine was established as a bi-weekly magazine in 1968 and then went to weekly in the following year. According to Japan Magazine Publishers Association (JMPA), its current circulation is about 2 million copies, which is less than one-third of its peak of 6.53 million in 1995.
The first part "The Beginning of The Legend" introducing the magazine's classic titles from its launch to the 1980s is scheduled to be held at Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo between July 18 and October 15. The second part "The Impact of The 6.53 Million Copies" for the 1990s works will follow in the spring of 2018, then the third part "The Present of The Evolving Strongest Magazine" for the 2000s and current works is set in the summer of the year. Advance tickets for the first part will go on sale at the
Seven-Eleven stores in Japan on May 13 and will be available till July 17.
