Hiii love, can u tell us something about ur trip to Japan? Like, some curiosities and things u liked?
Hii!! 💖 Yes of course! I went with my best friend in 2019 to visit another friend who's been living there for a while, so we stayed at their house in Tokyo. We went to several other places from there.
A fucking tourism article ahead, I'm sorry I got carried away 😂😂
Tokyo is amazing but it's so big and has so many cool things this post would never end 😂 So I'll just say that one of my favourite experiences there was going to a pokémon café, everything they serve is in the shape of a pokémon of your choice!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hakone is also soooo cool, it has a beautiful lake with a Torii and you can see Mount Fuji perfectly from there, but we didn't get to see it because it was too foggy 😭 (these pics aren't mine because as I said we couldn't see anything lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kyoto is also beautiful! It has so many temples, my favourite ones were Kinkaku-ji (left) and Ginkaku-ji (right, not mine because I don't have pics somehow), they're both surrounded by nature and soooo peaceful, I could have spent hours in those easily.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But my absolute favorite place was Miyajima, it's a little island. There you can see this temple in the shore with a beautiful Torii. At high tide the sea covers part of the Torii so you can see it like floating there, and at low tide you have access to the beach and the Torii is uncovered. The views at sunset are the best 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We went to other places like Osaka, Hiroshima (this one was heartbreaking) or Nara, but I need to shut up or this would be too long 😂
Bonus photos I took that I like:

Okay and that's it, you can't shut me up once I start talking about this trip, I'm so sorry 😂😂

Since I’m reposting everything all over again, why not start with a one of my earliest attempts at on-site figure shoots? Trainer Gold has traveled the world with me, so when Sai and I made the trip back to Japan, I had to get shots of him in front Ginkaku-ji (銀閣寺) and Kinkaku-ji (金閣寺).

Ginkakuji Temple famous places in kyoto
Ginkakuji is a Buddhist temple located in the eastern part of Kyoto City, around Tetsugaku no Michi. The official name is Jishoji, but it is generally known as Ginkakuji. Ginkaku-ji Temple was built after the Onin War, but according to the wishes of Yoshimitsu Ashikaga, the first shogun, it became a villa after his death. Yoshimitsu built Kinkakuji (Rokuonji), but after the Onin War, his grandson Yoshimasa Ashikaga built Ginkakuji. Unlike Kinkaku-ji, which was decorated with gold leaf, Ginkaku-ji's name was originally planned to be decorated with silver leaf, but it was not completed and the name remained as Ginkaku-ji. Therefore, it came to be called "Ginkaku-ji". The main structure of the temple is a two-story building called ``Ginkaku'' or ``Hozanro.'' There is no silver coating on the upper layer, giving it a simple appearance. The building, along with a beautiful garden, offers a landscape in harmony with the surrounding landscape. The area around Ginkaku-ji Temple is full of beautiful scenery that is perfect for strolling around, such as the Philosopher's Path and the gardens of Jisho-ji Temple. Many tourists visit especially during the autumn leaves season, and the beauty of the scenery is praised.

We went to Kyoto and Tokyo!!! It was truly lovely. People were friendly (and patient!), and it was so easy to get around.
Kyoto we of course mostly did temples and other famous spots since it was our first time - Kyoto Imperial Palace and Gardens, Fushimi Inari, Kyomizu-dera, Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji, Philosopher's Path, Nanzen-ji, Byodo-in, etc etc. People online were complaining about how overrun everything was, but we never experienced this (except near Senso-ji in Tokyo...). Even Fushimi Inari was fairly quiet, so we got lots of cool pics of the empty path. Granted we were very jet-lagged - 12 hour difference :( - so we usually showed up at like 8am to everything. I'm wondering if the time of year we chose (after monsoon season but before peak autumn leaf season) helped us here.
Tokyo was cool! We visited the KING at SEGA Joypolis in Odaiba, saw the Gundam, went to MANY crane game places and the massive gashapon place in Ikebukuro Sunshine City. Mostly ate tons of good food. In general, went to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, Asakusa, Shimokitazawa, Odaiba, Ikebukuro and Nakano. There was also some large cultural festival happening all over Tokyo while we were there, so we got to see lots of cool demonstrations (aikido, mounted archery, dance groups) and events.
We did 6 days in Kyoto, which was perfect, and 7 days in Tokyo, which was a little too much city after a while. We will absolutely be going again, but probably doing less in Tokyo and travel a little further out instead.
Google Translate and Google Maps were all we needed to do pretty much anything, and everything EXCEPT the flights was very affordable.
