Is the glasshalf-empty/half-full? Don’t matter very much when it is actually half filled with acid!

Glass Half

This is a poem I made 5 mins ago, I’m writing an anthology and thought you’d like to see

You might think I’m an optimist

A glass half full kind of person

Who wakes up and squeezes lemons

To make lemonade

And makes life happy

You might think I’m a pessimist

A glass half empty kind of person

Who groans at the alarm

And sees sour lemons

Then throws them out the window

And realizes reality

But to be honest

I’m neither

A glass half kind of person

Who snoozes the alarm

Who makes lemonade but loves it when it’s tart and not sugary like the lemonade from the optimist next door

Who shrugs at the pessimist who throws away the lemons when they never even thought of using them

Who loves the zest rather than the juice because it gives tangy complexity rather than sour or sweet

And neither they nor the optimist will ever see that it’s better to just drink the glass as half liquid than argue about whether it’s half full or half empty.
