so I cleared my browser cache and was logged out of my gmail
no problem right? log back in except
I kept getting a 400 error. after much experimenting I determined that it was Privacy Badger fucking things up. Even though I'd disabled it for the the accounts.google url, it was *STILL* blocking certain calls in the network trace
What the actual fuck?
Anyway, gonna figure out how to submit that as a bug report because wow that is a big problem right there
Anyway, leaving the extension disabled for now but I'm super annoyed that was the problem >_<
bright side, at least I'm back into my email
#privacy badger#that's a big yikes right there#i've got other extensions that also block a lot of unnecessary trackers#but damn that was a good one for so long and now it's apparently fucked and ignoring it's own list of url's its disabled for >_<

Hey all, I almost got scammed by a fake art commission. Tumblr user @bigellev asked for my PayPal name and email and sent a fake error message asking me to request a second $400 from her and send it back (not even believable BS!)
Always make sure emails from apps and services don't come from a Gmail account, if they do, they are fake.Anyway, I spent all evening on these pieces, so at least you all get to enjoy them! Stay safe out there.

I'm now officially panicking. I owe T-Mobile $1,200 because the error wound up being something they couldn't reverse (it was an error but it wasn't an error that I benefitted from, basically) and I have NO. IDEA. How to come up with that money. I'm trying to find the broken S21 to see if someone will buy it so I can at least come up with the almost $400 I need to pay just to make a payment arrangement.
I'm so Tired of fighting this shit. I'm so tired. I can't keep up with anything. I can't work for anyone but myself because of liability and disability. But working for myself doesn't cover the bills. Not even half of them.
I'm so tired. So. Fucking tired.
If you can help, yadda yadda, all the usual bullshit that I'm tired of saying all the time because I feel like SHIT every time I ask, the PayPal is tashabot at gmail and the Cashapp is $tashabot. *sigh*
--------------
(For those wondering about the phone bill: I have six lines and only one person pays for their line. One of my five lines is my 'rent'. Two of them are Raven and I. We need unlimited data bc of DoorDash. One is for my daughter and one is for my brother, both of which have EIPs on them. Raven and I also have EIPs on ours. $1,200 is three months of bills for six lines, four of which I'm paying EIPs on and five of which I pay in total. Once we're all caught up, we can switch Raven over as the primary and save a lot because of their veterans discount but that's why it's so expensive - paying off phones. If I had two grand I could pay off the EIPs and be damn close to caught up with them, but I just... Don't.
And we need them to work, to do therapy, to freelance, to apply for the bazillion jobs I've applied to, to deal with Unemployment or the VA in regards to benefits, etc. The Obamaphone option simply is not enough for us to actually be of use.
Tldr: I'm super fucked and idk what to do about it. Someone call MacKenzie Scott and tell her I've been super good and would like a million dollars, please. 🙄)

Easiest Way to Fix YouTube Error
1. Clear the Caches and Cookies
As we have already discussed, the previously used caches and cookies in your browser will be sent bad requests to the internet server. To get rid of them, you will need to clear your browsing data, preferably since you started to use the device for the first time. Here is how to do so in Google chrome:
Also Check: How to reopen closed tab in Browser
Open the browser and go to the customize and control google chrome option. It is the three small dots known as Settings present in a column on the top right corner of the browser interface. Click on the opportunity.
From the list that will appear on your screen, choose History. It will open up a drop-down menu. From the drop-down menu, select history again, on the top of the list. Another way to do so is to press CTRL+H just after opening the browser in the first step.
On the new page, the list of your search history will appear. On the left sidebar of the browser, click on the Clear browsing data. It will bring another page and a pop-up message with two sections: Basic and Advanced.
Choose the Basic category and it will show you three options. Check on the boxes to the left of each option. Also, change the time range to All time so that no cached data or cookies remain.
Click on the Clear Data option on the right bottom corner of the same popped up window.
Restart the browser and check if the error 400 bad request YouTube is solved or not.
Keep in mind that using this method will delete all the information stored in the browser, including the usernames and the passwords of every website that you have previously opened in it. So basically, you will need to enter them once again before logging in.
If doing so seems like a very inconvenient option for you, then you should consider deleting the caches and cookies related to YouTube only. Here is the step by step guide to removing the YouTube caches and cookies from your Google Chrome browser-
Open Settings panel of your browser. Chrome is our interest here.
Scroll down to the bottom of the newly opened page and click on the Advanced option.
On the next page, choose the Privacy and Security on the left sidebar. It will change the main contents of the page.
From the new list of contents, choose the Site Settings. This setting allows you to control the contents that a website can see from you and show you from their side.
Now, click on the Cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data option on the top of the list. A new list of contents will show up.
On the new interface, search for YouTube cookies and cache files by typing YouTube on the search space on the top right corner or it.
You will find the cookies and caches of YouTube stored in your system. Now chyoose the Remove All Shown option on the screen and confirm the deletion by clicking on Clear All on the popped up window.
Restart your browser and check if you have successfully solved YouTube error 400 or not.

2. Replace the Direct Link of the Video
If you are still have not been able to fix the error, then replace the link of the video with the Video ID. Video ID is the portion of the link which is present after the equal (=) sign.
For example, in this link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqTSeOAhew0, RqTSeOAhew0 is the video ID.
This may sound absurd but many of the YouTube users have reported it as a working fix. Why don’t we try it our, then? Right?
3. Reset Your Browser
Resetting your browser to the default mode is another beneficial technique to overcome YouTube error 400. Follow these simple steps to reset your browser:
Open the browser and click on the three vertical dots (Settings) of the browser.
On the new page, scroll to the bottom and click on the Advanced option.
A new page will open up. Go to the bottom of it, and under the Reset and clean up, choose the first option Reset settings to their original defaults and confirm it. The browser will go to its default mode. This technique should work in almost any situation.
4. Log out and Log in to YouTube
This method of fixing YouTube 400 error Android/iOS is also working for many users. As the heading suggests, you just need to log out from the Google account you are using to surf YouTube videos and log in again. Not sure how to accomplish it? Let’s go.
Open the Gmail app on the device you’re getting the error.
Alternatively, just open the YouTube website on your Chrome browser.
Click on your profile icon from the right top corner.
Select Sign out option from there and restart your device.
Log in to your Gmail account again and try surfing the same video through YouTube.
5. Reinstall Your Browser
Reinstalling your browser will also set it to the default mode. Hence, it can also be used to solve the error of our concern.
The techniques mentioned above are applicable for YouTube error 400 android or mac or any other operating system. We have explained the methods in Google chrome, mainly because it is the most widely used browser. But the same ideas can be applied for all the other browsers. Let us know if you are still holding this error.

Update: In case you missed it, I'm permanently disabled + chronically ill, & have been for most of my life. Disability benefits don't pay enough to live off of, so you have to try to work to make ends meet. But you can't work TOO much or you lose benefits. Legally you can't make more than $14K annually or you lose benefits. I've never made that much money in a year, but due to an error in their records, 9 months ago my disability benefits were cut off. SSA just told me it may be a year before they are reinstated. I've been working as hard as I can to pay for rent, medical bills, and repairs to my mobility scooter. Every con I do is work these days. I also do editing and social media based work. The current goal is to raise $400 in the next 2 weeks. I’m selling handmade backpacks for $30 including priority shipping with tracking & insurance. To order a backpack email me at ThatJayJustice@ Gmail. com & be sure to tell me which one you'd like! 21 May 2019: Like a vending machine, pharmacies and plastic bags, Amazon invests in Deliveroo
Hello, this is the Co-op Digital newsletter - it looks at what's happening in the internet/digital world and how it's relevant to the Co-op, to retail businesses, and most importantly to people, communities and society. Thank you for reading - send ideas and feedback to @rod on Twitter. Please tell a friend about it!

Like a vending machine
"People are coming in, they're grabbing one thing, and then they leave. "People [are] ... kind of treating it like a vending machine." - Amazon’s New York Go store.
Obviously supermarkets have larger baskets/spend and less frequent visits, and convenience stores have smaller baskets/spend and more frequent visits. But maybe that inverse relationship between convenience (or speed) and transaction size extends much further. If you reduce much of the shopping friction (no checkouts etc) in a convenience store, maybe the basket size will happily drop so far that you don’t need a basket any more.
Technology has been great at splitting apart existing “bundles” into ever smaller atoms, and then replacing them with a new kind of bundle. Music: sales of songs (iTunes in the 2000s and MTV in the 90s) replaced sales of albums, but that spend is now moving to streaming (Spotify). The same thing is happening with TV at the moment (cable TV packages give way to streamed video on demand from Netflix). The same thing will happen with private transport: owning a car is inefficient for many travelers because 90% of the time the car sits outside a home, so it makes more sense to buy a ride instead (Uber).
Could you translate a pattern like that to grocery? Maybe Go means that the natural “basket size” is something that fits in your pocket. Maybe the next step is that the food somehow becomes a monthly subscription service. That’s an interesting idea, though hard to do with food because, unlike say digital content, the marginal distribution costs of food are not zero (as meal kit companies have been finding). But maybe you could imagine a Costco-like model: a monthly membership gets you access to the store, in which all of the goods are cheap and maybe some are free.
Elsewhere in retail:
McDonald’s locations to double as U.S. embassies in the most American thing that ever happened - why shouldn’t retail help provide valuable help and service to people?
Now its partnership with Ocado is ending, Waitrose plans to treble the size of its online sales to 1bn.
Richer Sounds founder hands over control of hi-fi and TV firm to staff.
Co-op CEO Steve Murrells has backed the recommendation from Tesco chief Dave Lewis that online retailers be charged a 2% sales levy to help pay for a reduction in business rates for high street stores.
Health: service design and plastic bags
Great piece about service design in the NHS - Mostly service design: the health and care edition:
“People in this sector talk a lot about “service redesign”. I find that odd because, on the available evidence, much of the service we have today was never consciously designed. It emerged through countless policy decisions and reorganisations.”
Boots has robots packing repeat prescriptions but they’ve introduced single-use plastic bags which some customers don’t like. “She said she intended to use a different pharmacy if Boots gave her another plastic bag.”
A paper bag generally signals “eco-friendly” compared to a plastic bag. The green footprint of packaging is sometimes counter-intuitive, and reasons for packaging choices aren’t always obvious (Boots said "the bags also need to be heat-sealed shut, which reduces the risk of products falling out of the bags in transit") so if Boots were replacing paper bags with plastic ones, maybe the bags could’ve had a message printed on them explaining the choice.
Elsewhere in pharmacies: Co-op’s Health new service helps people view, order and manage their NHS repeat prescription from their phone. Co-op will also trial self-serve lockers for prescription collection. (And how Co-op Digital ran design sprints to quickly answer critical business designs for a forthcoming feature.)
Amazon invests in Deliveroo: routes to market
Amazon is the lead investor in Deliveroo’s latest fundraising - Deliveroo will use the money to hire more tech people and open more dark “cloud” kitchens.
Takeaway marketplaces and food delivery are contested and overlapping these days: Just Eat started as a takeaway marketplace but now competes more directly with Deliveroo. Most of these companies seem to have increasing costs to acquire customers so it's often seen an attritional "scale wins" space. Amzn tried and later closed its Restaurants delivery service in London, which suggests that it felt investing in (or buying) Deliveroo would be a better route to the same goal.
Automated face recognition
A legal challenge to current police use of automated face recognition (AFR). The case is primarily about privacy: AFR collects data which can later be used to match or identify people, so you might think of it as being like non-consensual mass fingerprinting. There isn’t much if any regulation on use of facerec, so this may lead to some legislation. The wider questions with AFR are whether it works too well (surveillance society) or not well (tragedy of errors) and where the UK wants to be on the freedom/privacy/safety/control map.
San Francisco bans facial recognition technology - the first ban by a major city in the US.
Google vs Huawei (US vs China)
The US President amped up the trade disagreement with China. US firms cannot supply components to Huawei without export licences (or maybe they can). Google will withhold Android updates and Play store, Gmail, Goog maps etc from Huawei phones in future. This may hurt Huawei and help Samsung outside China, and fragment mobile phone OSes further in the long-term. It may also hurt Apple everywhere if China retaliates, and even dilute the strength of any anti-competitive scrutiny against Google in the US.
Everything else
Adobe tells users they can get sued for using old versions of Photoshop - this seems like a bad thing to say to your customers.
BT unveils new logo - its name in a circle - staff will get shares which is good. The new logo has a default social media user icon vibe to it, which may or may not fit your aesthetic.
“Dark magic”: a user successfully controlling lots of things on their mobile with Google voice and without losing their mind in frustration.
A 2019 survey of US consumers suggests that Walmart has 58.5m app customers. Amazon has 54.4m (surprising that it’s in second place?), Uber 52.1m, Starbucks 44.2m.
Netflix saves our kids from up to 400 hours of commercials a year (fewer ads, yay) though this is also because the average 6-11 year old is spending over 1,450 hours a year watching television (erm).

We made the decision here at Kinsta to move our entire infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform early 2016, making us the first managed WordPress host to exclusively utilize the platform. By doing this we could ensure a high-level of redundancy and have granular control over our servers while also having the ability to tweak our hosting environment; making customers’ sites faster, more stable, secure and completely isolated. Google Cloud Platform not only allowed us access to one of the largest networks in the world, but also ensures customers have less downtime as we can now utilize live migrations of virtual machines. Today we want to dive deeper into some of the advantages of using Google Cloud Hosting for your business.
Google Cloud
SADA Systems recently surveyed 200+ IT managers about their use of public cloud services, and found that 84% of IT managers surveyed are using public cloud infrastructure today, as opposed to corporate data centers. “All signs point to public cloud adoption growing and enterprise IT becoming more comfortable with the prospect of running their most sensitive data on public cloud infrastructure,” says Tony Safoian, president and CEO at SADA Systems.
Google Cloud Hosting, and or Compute Engine, is just one of many services provided by Google Cloud Platform. They also offer their App Engine, storage, DNS, CDN, and a multitude of other services and products. Google Cloud Platform consists of a set of physical servers, as well as virtual resources like virtual machines (VMs) that are contained in Google’s data centers around the globe. We use Google Cloud Platform’s multi-regional deployment mode. This means that you can choose a different data center for each of your WordPress websites.
Some notable companies that are using Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine or App Engine) include Spotify, HSBC, Home Depot, Snapchat, HTC, Best Buy, Philips, Coca Cola, Domino’s, Feedly, ShareThis, Sony Music, and Ubisoft. Even Apple has been seen moving some of its services away from AWS, spending between $400 million and $600 million on Google Cloud Platform; although this couldn’t be independently confirmed.
Evernote made the decision to migrate its 200 million users. Ben McCormack, VP Operations at Evernote stated on their blog: “Evernote will gain significant improvements in performance, security, efficiency, and scalability. Moving to the cloud also allows us to focus time and resources on the things that matter most.”
1. Better Pricing Than Competitors
Google bills in minute-level increments (with a 10-minute minimum charge), so you only pay for the compute time you use. And a big bonus is that they give you discounted prices for long-running workloads with no up-front commitment required. Use the VMs for a month and you get a discount, as simple as that. This makes it perfect for startups and for enterprise IT to cut costs. AWS for example requires prepays in the form of “reserved instances” to be eligible for the discounts. And Azure only offers a 5% discount on a 12-month prepay.
Sandeep Dinesh did a good comparison recently of just how cheap Google Cloud’s SSDs are when it comes to performance vs price and a comparison against AWS and Azure. To start off, instances are simply lower in cost on Google Cloud Platform, Compute Engine alone is typically between 40% – 50% cheaper than AWS and Azure.
AWS vs Google Cloud
When it comes to Google Cloud Platform you basically get more IOPS for less than 1/3 of the cost. As you can see with this configuration below with AWS you are looking at $1,102.50/month with 3 year contract as opposed to Google Cloud’s $470.64/month. IOPS is a measurement for input/output operations per second and how often a device can perform IO tasks. In most cases, the great number of IOPS, the better the performance.
2. Private Global Fiber + Tiered Network
Alex said it best in an article about Google Cloud Platform on Techcrunch, “The Power is in the Network.” One thing that sets Google Cloud Hosting apart from some of the other players is that their network is one of the biggest in the world. Will Shulman, co-founder of MongoLab, talked about the network in a panel at Google I/O saying: “It is blazing fast. The other thing – it has a private distributed backbone between all the data centers. You are talking over Google’s backbone, not over the Internet.”
3. Live Migration of Virtual Machines
Another huge advantage for Google Cloud Hosting, especially for how we use it here at Kinsta is live migrations of Virtual Machines. Neither AWS, Azure, or smaller providers like Digital Ocean offer this functionality. So this is a very important differentiator for Google Cloud compared to other cloud providers. As a WordPress hosting provider, this means we are basically always up with our VMs, with no noticeable degradation in performance when they are live migrating VMs between host machines.
Benefits of live migrations allow for the engineers at Google to better address issues such as patching, repairing, and updating the software and hardware, without the need for you to worry about machine reboots. Miche Baker-Harvey, Tech Lead/Manager at Google put together a great illustration of the high-level steps involved in a live VM migration.
4. Improved Performance
Kinsta was just recently named top tier once again in Review Signal’s annual 2018 WordPress hosting performance benchmarks. And a lot of this is thanks to Google Cloud Platform. We were the first managed WordPress host to exclusively utilize Google Cloud and are the only enterprise level host using them. And we would like to think that the results speak for themselves. Kevin at Review Signal threw a whopping 10,000 concurrent users against our servers and as he noted for the Load Storm test, Kinsta had basically flawless performance with flat average response times, minimal errors and no spikes.
5. State of the Art Security
Another big advantage is security. Choosing Google Cloud Platform means you get the benefit of a security model that has been built upon over the course of 15 years, and currently secures products and services like Gmail, Search, etc. Google currently employs more than 500 full-time security professionals. Niels Provos, a security Engineer at Google, gave a great in-depth look at the security of Google Cloud Platform (see video below).
6. Dedication to Continued Expansion
Google has continued to rapidly build out their infrastructure for Google Cloud Platform. On September 29th, 2016 they announced the locations of new strategically placed Google Cloud Regions. We are very excited to see São Paulo and Sydney included in the list as this will help dramatically decrease latency for Google Cloud Hosting customers across South America and Australia. Here is an updated list of all GCP regions:
7. Redundant Backups
Google Cloud Storage is designed for 99.999999999% durability and has 4 different types of storage: Coldline storage, nearline, regional storage, and multi-regional storage. It stores data redundantly, with automatic checksums to ensure data integrity. The beauty of multi-regional storage is that it is also geo-redundant, which means cloud storage stores your data redundantly in at least two regions within the multi-regional location of the bucket. As it pertains to Google Cloud hosting, this ensures you will never lose your data, even in the case of a disaster.

We’ve all heard the gentle warnings to pace ourselves at the beginning of a marathon. Yet, so many of us treat marathons like sprints anyway. Consensus: Distributed is no different, and there was so much going on over the first couple of days that “pacing ourselves” just wasn’t an appealing option.
Today, we have deep dives into token standardization, hosted by our content partners the IEEE, and into blockchain use cases, hosted by the World Economic Forum. Christine Kim and Galen Moore from CoinDesk Research host sessions on crypto metrics and market data. You think crypto charts are confusing? These talks will make them less so.
We also have insight from enterprise executives, consortium leaders and industry economists about the sector’s challenges and opportunities, and how the COVID-19 crisis has impacted efforts. And we’ll hear from our partners Huobi and Abu Dhabi Global Market on crypto market evolution and building digital financial services.
Keep your energy up – it’ll be worth it!

Generation Crypto Freelance journalist Jess Klein writes about an emerging psychographic of people who see the world through the lens of decentralization. In a series of eight profiles, Klein examines “Generation Crypto,” a diffuse grouping of people of all ages, races and sexes, bound together as “children of Satoshi.”
SpankChain’s Ameen Soleimani is the subject of this excerpted profile. Read the full series here.
It was only February when the founder of the blockchain sex worker platform SpankChain, Ameen Soleimani, helped throw a coronavirus-themed party at an Airbnb-ed church during the ETHDenver conference in Colorado – drinking Corona beers with his “shitcoin trading friends, protocol developers, and bitcoin OGs” – but it feels like a lifetime ago.
It was weeks before several of the conference’s attendees went on to EthCC in Paris and got infected with the coronavirus, and one week before Soleimani convinced his mom to take a mass shopping trip to Costco to prepare for a lockdown in California that hadn’t started yet. “I probably could have done more to raise awareness and make people take it seriously,” he says of the church party.
But still, he was prepared. In addition to the Costco trip, he stockpiled drugs including chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine – both under testing to see how effective they could be in treating COVID-19 patients, though the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cautioned against using them at home – and even bought an oxygen tank. “On the off-chance my mom is dying of coronavirus … I’d rather have an oxygen concentrator than $400,” he reasons.
A couple months out from moving out of the apartment he’d shared with SpankChain co-Founder Wills de Vogelaere in Los Angeles’s Venice Beach, Soleimani has been isolating at an Ethereum friend’s mansion in West Hollywood. The friend isn’t there – it’s just Soleimani, two other friends, a heated pool and a steam room. “I sort of hit the quarantine jackpot,” he says.
Like many others in his industry, Soleimani was able to prepare so thoroughly thanks to a combination of a global network and shared prepper mentalities. “I’ve been in a Telegram ‘Doomsday Prepper’ group for, like, a month and a half,” he says, where members share “raw feeds from doctors’ Twitters” and the like. “It turns out to be better intel, a lot of the time, than if you listen to the World Health Organization.”
Being a young entrepreneur in the crypto space generally means avoiding the establishment ethos for a more progressive outlook. For instance, Soleimani posted his first porn video to PornHub back in January. Starring him and SpankChain adviser/adult film star Brenna Sparks, it features the pair “role playing” as themselves (a boss hooking up with his sexy adviser). It took a year for Soleimani to muster the courage to post it online but he has no regrets – it’s helping normalize the stigmatized industry his company operates in, he figures.
“The old guard is like: He’s ruined his career, he’s fucked, nobody will take him seriously,” says Soleimani. Meanwhile, younger people in the space found the move iconic and admirable.
Soleimani sees this divide as indicative of business culture moving forward, particularly in the crypto space. “Eventually the old people will die, the rules will go with them and newer generations will set the cultural norms,” he said in February. “As entrepreneurs, it’s part of our role to bring those new concepts into the world.”
In light of the pandemic, this makes for an exceptionally bleak and insensitive take. But in a world where people are only dressing from the waist up for conference calls, rolling with changing cultural norms has become inevitable.

Many Ether Whales Might Be Leaving for Bitcoin While ether’s (ETH) price has risen by nearly 50% this year, the number of addresses holding large amounts of the currency, popularly known as whales, has declined significantly. The seven-day average of the number of unique addresses holding 10,000 ethers or more fell to 1,050 on Tuesday. That’s the lowest level since January 2019, according to data provided by the blockchain intelligence firm Glassnode.
