I haven’t seen anyone mention it here on Tumblr but interestingly enough, the writer for Playboyy is the same writer for Only Friends (and part of the writing team for Mansuang).

It’s going to be interesting what the audience reception is like for both series, since Playboyy has already seen quite a bit of pushback for being “porn” adjacent even before the first trailer was released and Only Friends’ reception has generally been a lot more positive. If what the writer says holds true, Playboyy is going to be delving into a lot of real topics that surround the gay community in Thailand. I think it’s important to note that the production team even worked with Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand.

My main worry with Only Friends is the turn around for this show. They only just wrapped a couple weeks ago and it’ll already be airing in two weeks. I’m hoping the editing of this show does the script justice because it seems to be a convoluted story. This happened with Never Let Me Go (which had a lot less characters), and though I personally loved that show, even I was aware of the choppy editing that was a result of the fast turnaround for the project.

Anyways, it’s definitely going to be a very ‘hot’ season, but more than that, I’m looking forward to the conversations that will start with both of them, especially since they’ll both be airing around the same time.

Hi! Just wanna ask when is usually the Our Sky series is posted/made? Like is it after all the series for the year are finished? Annndd all of the series that was published get those episodes from our skyy???

hii! i accidentally went way overboard with my response so tldr: there's no timeline for when our skyy's come out, there's no guarantee that we'll even get another our skyy (although imo it's extremely likely that we will), and the series included for special episodes in our skyy aren't necessarily even aired or filmed by the time its announced to be included lol (and most shows don't actually get our skyy eps, but the popular ones usually will).

and the longer answer + my speculation about our skyy 3 is under the cut if u want to read my rambling lol 😅:

so there isn't any specific time the our skyy anthologies are made, and not all series are included in it. For reference, our skyy 1 aired in 2018 (and there wasn't necessarily any intention back then for there to be another our skyy), but then our skyy 2 came out in 2023, and obviously by then the bl landscape and gmmtv's scope had changed a lot.

Both of them included series from any year before it was released. However for our skyy 2, what was interesting was that it included special episodes for a boss and a babe, my school president and never let me go (amongst others as well). However our skyy 2 was announced in the GMMTV 2023 lineup event, which happened in november 2022, and a boss and a babe was also announced at this same event. so basically abaab got included in os2 even before the series had been filmed/aired 😅 also my school president and never let me go both started airing in december 2022, so they were announced to be in os2 even before they aired + without any audience feedback, which i find rlly interesting.

overall, speaking for our skyy 2 because i haven't seen os1, i think the series they include are decided on either how popular the shows were (bad buddy, atots, the eclipse), how popular the pairing is (never let me go), or the pairings that gmmtv is investing in and trying to make popular (forcebook was considerably less popular at that point, and geminifourth weren't even known then lol).

our skyy 3 thoughts:

i definitely think we're gonna get another our skyy soon, especially with how many bls/gls we've gotten in the past 2 years (i'd guess that they'll also include gls this time around). I think we'll get our skyy 3 in gmmtv 2026, with special episodes for a bunch of the recent qls so that the branded cps have work together next year, without having to continuously churn out full-length bls for every single pairing (and because a lot of gmmtv2025's lineup won't come out until 2026 anyway lol). i'm also guessing that we'll get more het/gen shows in next year's lineup.

in terms of a high school frenemy special ep in our skyy (because i think that's where this question came from ahaha), realistically speaking, i think it's extremely unlikely they'll be included, purely for the fact that it isn't actually a bl (of course there's the off-chance that they make it a bl in the special ep, but lbr that's extremely wishful thinking lol). if they do include it, the queerbaiting allegations are gonna go crazyyy again (🙄), but i can also see some fans taking the announcement as confirmation that they'll make saintshin canon, and that would just lead to disappointment all around. Only way i can see hsf being included is if peaceful property is as well.

(that being said, logic won't stop me from being delulu and manifesting for that hsf os3 ep 😌😌)

Answer + Explanation

So there might have been a bit of confusion over who the MC is because ik in the teaser at GMMTV23 and in the first couple episodes it seems like it's Dome (Gun's character), both he and Khatha (Tor's character) are listed as main characters on mdl and Tor gets first billing. Also as the show goes on, it really is a lot more about Khatha and he’s really the core of the show. So when I reference MC it's either Dome or Khatha.

The correct answer as to what the fake plot point is #4! Congrats to everyone who got it right!

While it was a popular theory for a while (and Khatha initially believed it to be the case), Dome, the new employee working for Khatha, only resembled Khatha's found family brother Chan! While they are connected to each other and have the same powers, they are shown to be distinctly different characters that are completely independent of each other! Also it's an established fact in canon that reincarnation doesn't exist (as the show operates in a world with a religion that follows closer to Christianity)

I'll make a separate reblog of this that'll go more into detail on why #4 is false if you're interested!!!

For explanations of the other points, look under the cut! (Spoilers)

1) Khatha and Dome hug on an asteroid in front of God (who is dying). Dome had been yeeted from his body for a while now and Khatha was just recently burned to ash and revived there. (Which is why they're not worried about breathing or any of your normal concerns in space)

2) Ok so this is one of those that leans a little bit more into subtext since they don't outright say it but honestly the evidence is all there. So as far as the Christian God goes, many times throughout the show there are various stories from the Bible referenced and shown to be true (such as Adam and Eve) and the main problem with the evil cult is that they follow the wrong form of the Bible. So it leans heavily into Christianity for its religious plot. Later they meet God and he tells Khatha that he was created to be the same as God and the voice actor for God is the guy who plays Khatha. Khatha comes back to life with some sort of God powers and the character who was promised to bring in the new resurrection of God's death is what allows him to come back. Another character goes on a whole spiel about how he killed his God and is looking for a new one and Khatha is the prime candidate. Oh yeah and when God dies he says he's placing all his hope into Khatha to do what he cannot and basically passes on the mantle so he's basically the Christian God now.

3) It really says it all there. Like the cult was trying to bring upon Armageddon and they recruit a bunch of teenagers who are sacrificed and like ascend to the moon which begins to explode and starts the apocalypse.

5) Khatha spends several billion dollars buying a magical anklet for Dome and says that it's not a dent in his wallet. There's no explanation to how he got this money, he runs a cursed museum with zero guests I don't know how he's rich he's only been like actively doing things for 100 years now and like I said most of that seems to be buying things for a museum that doesn't have any visitors so idk how he does it.

6) This does happen. It's quick but it's there.

7) Dome is sent into another universe where's it's 1941. Khatha travels there and they run off together and that's the last we see of them in the show (unless we get that season 2)

8) That's just another thing that happens. It's some cursed telephone booth that lets them communicate to the other universes (there are 3 that they're certain about, including the one they're in) and with a little engineering, they make it so that you can travel to these other universes as well

9) That's how Dome showed up. Simple really. Came down in a star and took over a guy's body with no idea of who he really was. Like you do.

Anyways this barely scratches the surface of some of the wild stuff that happens so y'all should go watch Midnight Museum!!! It is the weirdest show I've ever seen I love it so much!!!

This show is gonna be so messy. Three episodes in and it’s already crazy. All i have to say is sandray will end me. The chemistry between them is too good! The way their eyes say so much omg i can’t get enough of them 🖤
