To be held by Alhaitham is not rare but not common either. This act of intimacy happens primarily in the late hours of the night and the wee hours of the morning. It’s the times when he just can’t be bothered to let go of the pleasant warmth you give off as he stays snuggled in the covers, nowhere near ready to start his day. It's in the moments where you take a seat on the opposite side of the couch, sometimes even the other couch altogether, unwilling to disturb your lover as he reads. Yet, somehow, not even five minutes later the man will find his place beside you, eyes never leaving the page as he guides you to lean against him.

And even when you've found a comfortable position for the both of you, Alhaitham's arm remains in its spot around you.

To hold Diluc is to hold the weight of worlds because that is what he himself does. He carries the lives of everyone in the city when he takes up his place as the Darknight Hero, he manages a whole industry from its product to its staff, ensuring that both are properly taken care of. Most of all, he takes care of you. You who shall not see another day of harm or sadness if he has anything to say about it, you who shall always be loved by him.

To hold Diluc is to temporarily allow him to not shoulder these responsibilities, to let him relax, be loved and just be Diluc.

To hold and be held by Kaveh is like looking at the sea crash onto the sand then recede - sometimes there is more sand, sometimes there’s more water. This is an accurate way to visualize your relationship, sometimes Kaveh holds you and other times you hold him. To hold Kaveh is to let him know that just because he is sad doesn’t mean he has to hide it, least of all from you. Holding him means to shield him from the world just for a little while. To hold him is to let him calm down from venting or ranting, be the topic about Alhaitham or some client. To be held by Kaveh, however, is like drowning in happiness. If he’s holding you, the chances are high that he’s smiling earnestly, laughing at either something you’ve said or a situation he’s retold.

If you’re holding each other, the chances of him being happy are indisputably high. Really, if you’re holding each other, it’s no longer a chance that he’s content, it’s fact.

To hold Xiao is like holding a baby bird or glass figurine, so fragile and to be handled with care. Xiao is the furthest from being weak when it comes to physical or mental strength, but even he will one day succumb to the years of sorrow weighing on him, crumbling until it’s almost impossible to get back up. So to find him curled into himself, his agony hanging heavy and all-consuming, it’s only natural for your first instinct to be to embrace him. He’ll tense in the beginning, perhaps always remaining unaccustomed to physical affection, but the longer you hold him, remaining by his side and letting your warmth seep into his bones, the more the darkness backs away to where it came from.

It’s a long war to be fought, but in this instant, you can be sure you won this battle.

DO NOTHING: The core of urban engineering (2:2/3 Essay)

Encounter with Associate Professor Morimura

Michiyoshi Morimura(道美　森村), an assistant professor (at that time, later a professor), was also one of the people who came to get the stamp. When it comes to city planning, he is unparalleled in his detailed case studies. Mr. Morimura didn't give me a stamp either, but he worried, "Mr. Morishita, is that okay?"

And we had an interesting conversation there. Mr. Morimura: "Mr. Nakanishi (Assistant Junko Nakanishi:準子　中西) is planning a city for sewerage in Komagane City, Nagano Prefecture. I am also interested in city planning for sewerage, so I read the plan. However, there is no DO NOTHING in her plan”. When I heard that word, I realized something,“ Do Nothing. Did that mean? The meaning is very different from what I learned in class. Certainly, Mr. Nakanishi's sewerage plan does not have DO NOTHING. " It's like a Zen question and answer, so I'll explain the above conversation next.

What does DO NOT HIG mean?

In the first place, the word DO NOTHING is a term that always appears in city planning classes, but everyone easily passes by. There is no reason for anyone trying to develop city-related facilities to "do nothing". When I heard this term in class, I also passed by saying, "It's an uncluttered concept." However, this DO NOTHING is the core of urban engineering, and by extension, all academics.

I became interested in environmental issues for the first time since my specialty was decided, and was inspired by Junko Nakanishi's "Urban Revitalization and Sewerage". I was in and out. Around that time, Ms. Nakanishi's "Komagane City Sewerage Plan" came out. By the way, Mr. Ui, who made a name for himself in the accusation of Minamata disease, did not know how to use a can opener. Ms. Nakanishi lived in a high-rise condominium and enjoyed urban life. All have only the perspective of a city citizen. If such a person makes a sewerage plan, he or she will be able to do only uncluttered and half-finished things, if not the worst.

In fact, that's right, and for me, Ms. Nakanishi's plan wasn't enough. When I thought so, the conversation with Associate Professor Morimura instantly taught me the truth of the matter. "A plan that doesn't know to stay is not a plan." Her plan is sloppy in that sewerage construction is the only option. Associate Professor Morimura saw it only with her plan.

A little different example-when you encounter a snowstorm while climbing a winter mountain, the choice of going forward or turning back is life-threatening. Ms. Nakanishi's sewerage plan is exactly this-it only knows what to do. The situation is similar for nuclear power plant construction, dam construction, and river mouth weir construction. All of them have in common that they can proceed without questioning the lifestyle of the urban people. And it don't know to turn back.

To give another example, the pendulum-when it vibrates, it swings to the right and to the left, but it always passes through the middle point. If you stop the vibration, the pendulum will stop at that point. It is a so-called "immovable point". That is what DO NOTHING is all about. It is essential for planners to keep this in mind at all times. This is true of all disciplines. What do you think about DO NOTHING? This is an essential issue for all researcher.

"DO NOTHING", which had no meaning to me in regular classes, was given a new meaning by my own experience and suggestions from Associate Professor Morimura. Even if I could understand the true meaning of this word, it was worthwhile to go to the urban engineering department and eventually to the university.

And it was not in class but in a chat with Associate Professor Morimura that I got this "enlightenment". It was because I was ready to understand and Associate Professor Morimura gave an appropriate explanation. A student who goes to class with a blank slate and somehow takes notes, a professor who gives a lecture without studying anything. Such a class is only harmful. And, unfortunately, it's a common sight in today's college education. Associate Professor Morimura also said: "Current students go to class too much. They should play more."

@yungcrybby-anonymousbosch  Which reminds me though, another fun fact from the first of Shinsuke's two books: the first time he went to a New Japan show as a kid he left his mum at one point to go find the bathroom.  Only he got a little lost along the way and ended up in the locker room instead; Kengo Kimura was in there at the time and very gently told him he was in the wrong place, giving him directions to the actual bathroom.  But on the way back Michiyoshi Ohara caught him where he shouldn't be and yelled at him, sending baby!Shinsuke scurrying back to his mother XD

hopelessly in love ajax who tries to impress you in any way he can. it starts simple enough, trying to flash his strength on the battle field and such, but the more he falls for you the more creative he gets. balancing a spoon on his nose, his (slowly improving) chopstick skills, leaping over decent sized creeks, anything to rouse some kind of pleasant response from you.

hopelessly in love ajax who flips between drowning you in whatever fancy dates his money can buy and the more simple, quieter date ideas. it’s never bad to change things up, he reasons, childe’s favourite being to take you out on walks through the nation’s scenery. whether it’s the snow dipped forests in snezhnaya, the golden mountains of liyue or even the green fields of mondstadt, as long as ajax is around, he’ll make sure you enjoy your time with him. (he certainly will be, because when dates like this happen is when he truly gets to connect with you!)

hopelessly in love ajax who’ll sometimes just stare at you. could be while you’re cuddling or sat at the table for a meal, his pretty blue eyes are on you, taking in all that you are. he’ll think how gorgeous you look, how luck he is someone like you loves someone like him, the darker sides of him and all. he thinks about how it’s now his mission to spoil and love you for the rest of his life, because anything less is a crime punishable by life behind bars.
