Orange Crush is a conceptual photographic artwork that uses intentional camera movement (ICM) and is formatted as a triptych.
The work was created by painting gouache on glass, introducing various textures predominantly in orange and light brown tones.
Sections of painting were then photographed using intentional camera movement. The ICM process introduces an element of unpredictability and fluidity, adding dynamicity to the static image.
Structured as a triptych, the image is a study in the interconnected flow of elements between panels.
The intentional blurring and merging of elements across the triptych conveys a sense of continuity. This could be considered analogous with the panels of the triptych representing past, present and future and the interconnected elements representing the flow of time.
