I genuinely don't understand why people are upset that the Sims 4 is an alternate timeline to the past 3 main ones. The previous ones cover a timeline enough to make it hard to even find a good spot for it. Plus the fact the whole point of being an alternate timelines allows for iconic characters to be brought into it without timeline conflict.
It's also just such a nonissue that I don't get why people are upset about it.
