It happened in the blink of an eye.

Link hit the ground hard when she swept him. It was an unexpected move during their spar, usually, Zelda was too stubborn, and always jumped back up to rush him with her sword. She had the determination of both her mothers, but none of the patience.

The mute knight let out a small grunt as he hit the ground, but before he could recover, the princess pounced over him. Her knees straddled his hips, her hands grabbing his wrists to keep him down, and then she growled at him. the anger in her voice made it hard to hear what she was saying, and Link gave her a look of confusion--

Then her lips were on his, stealing his breath and pressing against him. Link gasped against her, his whole body going tense in the shock...

But the fire in her was consuming. She kissed him all-encompassing, leaving no room for thought. The tension in his muscles melted with her passion, and Link leaned up, despite his surprise, returning her embrace. Kissing her back with just as much adrenaline and heat.

When he began to pull back, Link leaned up, trying to chase her lips, but Zelda loomed over him, whispering her victory.

And he was helpless but to look up at her, his wrists still pinned. Nothing to say, but a look of confusion and hurt in his eyes.

Now Divineoath (aka Nessa) is SO amazing. I can't even begin talking about how she is one of the driving forces who got me loving Mipha so, so, SO much. Who was once a character I felt neutral toward suddenly became a character I absolutely adored because of Nessa's portrayal of her. Her writing is soft and gentle just like Mipha's and I always feel so calm reading everything she writes. I'm so blessed to be able to read her writing every day!

       THE HERO had taken to swimming in just his underwear yet again, a move some would say to be rather childish and inane. he’d thought himself alone, in the wee hours of the night - yet luck would be a rotten mistress when NOISE from up above startled him. in a panic, he’d fell victim to TRUE ATROCITY … he’d scraped his knee on a rock.

             he now sat on the shoreline, looking up at the princess and cradling his poor, poor knee. the rest of his clothing still lay in a bundle upon the grass.

                       “        zelllll … ”  he pouted.

     there are only relics of the twilight in this place. 

     he knows: he’s followed his shade (or perhaps he is the shade?) through the mountains of lanayru, the peaks of the hebra mountains. he’s padded over a mostly intact great bridge of hylia, ran through the ruins of the arbiter’s grounds. through the lost woods, his hackles stay firm and guarded -- expecting the mocking cackle of the skull kid -- seeing nothing but fog, and later, curious seed-beings. koroks.

     he sees only hints of the place he belongs, and nothing that can return him to it.

     so: he follows his shade. he growls at moblins. he climbs up walls to push a stone back into place with his nose. he sinks his teeth into a ferocious lynel’s backside, clings even when it bucks and roars.

      and then he finds himself snapping at the heels of a monstrous calamity ganon -- a shade, he thinks, of ganondorf, come again. he sees -- his shade. he sees ganondorf’s shade.

     and when ganondorf’s shade collapses and is swallowed back into the darkness, the queen’s shade appears, and despite her youth, link feels a small blooming of hope in his chest. he thinks: perhaps... perhaps she has magic enough...

     he waits, sitting, behind the scenes as zelda’s shade takes those dearly needed moments to gather herself. then, padding forward, eyes open and wide and blue, he approaches, tail swishing gently behind him, and moves to touch his nose to the tips of her fingers.

I look forward to talking to Rosie everyday and their headcanons on Link always brighten up my day.
