dont @ me but like...“I couldn’t stop thinking about you.” Sawyer x Godrik 👀
Every moment alone stung. Sawyer traveled town to town, pretending to just be passing through, but she was really looking for a place she’d be welcome in. A place that knew of her dangerous appetite and let her indulge in her gore fest, let her unleash the monster that lay just beneath the skin.
Even now as traced her current target step for step, essentially becoming her shadow, Sawyer was only allowed to sit in the corner of her mind and watch as her body stalked the girl. There was no more thrill of the hunt, not when she was following such a clueless creature; one who whistled soft show tunes under her breath and had a hop in her step. She was completely unaware of who dogged her. Who was watching her giggle to herself at something a loved one had just texted her.
Who was unaware that her very existence caused a jealousy that stung so much, it dropped the four rows of shark teeth usually kept hidden in Sawyer’s delicate mouth. She used to be like this girl; free of fear and unaware of what haunts her steps. Back then, she could have pretended she was human. Not anymore. Now the only semblance she had to seeming human was the skin she wore.
A monster who found no thrill, even as she cornered her, ripping out her jugular first so her screaming would stop. The Beast of the North came through Sawyers skin, stepping onto the stage she had set just as her jagged teeth buried into warm flesh.
No, the only thrill left to Sawyer was feeling her meals breath slow and eventually stop. To taste her tears and her blood mixing in Sawyer’s powerful jaws.
The only thing that satiated Sawyer was feeling a persons life slip through her talons.
It was intoxicating and almost orgasmic, having the life of someone in your palms and being allowed to give into the secret desire to utterly crush it. She moaned as her hand plunged into her victims still rib cage, easily shattering the bones. She ripped the heart from its cavity, setting upon it in a frenzied manner, uncaring of the mess she was leaving.
“Why is every meal a girl?” A voice drawled from behind.
Sawyer rolled her molten eyes, which looked haunting in the dark of the alley. Silver orbs resting against black sclera and skin that looked more like snow under the moon. She was looking up at the heavens now, her victim’s blood dripping down her pale throat. She hadn’t noticed him following her but was not at all surprised.
He always did like dinner and a show.
“Why are you always watching me eat?” She finally countered, heart still in hands as she turned to face him.
Godrik’s dark eyes raked over her bloodied appearance, lips already pulling into a macabre smile. “You answer first.”
She bit into her heart, eyes focusing somewhere past Godriks stupidly smug face. “Because females tend to carry more fat. Makes them taste better.” She swallowed another mouthful, looking back to him expectantly.
The man simply shrugged his shoulders, letting his arms move as he talked.
“Because it fascinates me. How your eyes roll back when you’ve found a particularly good meal. How you look so pretty by day, and then so….” He gestures to her, eyes heavy and slow as he once again takes the sight of her in.
“Beautiful by night.”
Sawyer shivered. Covered head to toe in someone else’s insides, she did feel beautiful. She was wrapped up in someone else’s proof of life and it felt like the most beautiful gown of all. She’d never thought someone else would think she looked beautiful like this. She never thought she’d find someone so fucked up to actually say it out loud either.
Shame chased her slight delight away. She shouldn’t feel anything like this, exact for self-disgust at feeling so good about murdering an innocent girl. She shouldn’t, but being covered in gore like this was when she felt the most beautiful of all.
They stood there, watching one another for a few moments. Well, Godrick was watching Sawyer, who was currently licking the left over viscera off her hands and eyeing him like a wary cat.
“You always seem to pop up just as I’m eating. Why is that, Godrik?” Sawyer let her mostly clean hands drop to her sides, suddenly feeling miles away from her body.
Coming alive only as one dies isn’t healthy, she knows. But she also doesn’t have one single shit left to give.
“You know the answer to that by now.” He chuckled, tone light but gaze intense.
She once again looked past him, unnerved with the vibes he was sending her way. Something was strangely affectionate about the way he kept looking at her, but Sawyer knew that it wasn’t anything good.
She hated to admit it, but she has recently been finding her thoughts drifting to him. Nothing too intense and time-consuming. But more often than she liked, for longer than she’d like. She’d prefer if she never thought of him ever again. But people like them never get what they want, do they?
“I couldn’t stop thinking about you.” Somehow, it was her who had broken the comfortable silence between them. And with something pretty much groundbreaking.
Even now, she visibly cringed as the words came out. She’d been so careful to not even try to reach out to him, to keep herself from forming any sort of connection with another monster. But it was too late, the connection was made long ago. She’d only added fuel to the fire by speaking to him so casually.
By letting him take a closer peek behind the mask.
“Don’t say anything.” She quickly muttered, eyes closing. “In fact, I think you should go.”
Godrik placed both of his hands up, his palms facing her. “Now, now, don’t get so embarrassed! I’m glad you think of me. I think of you too. I think of you all the time actually, especially bloody lik-”
“I said, don’t say anything.” Eyes still shut, Sawyer snarled. “Please, stop talking.”
Her voice came out as a whisper towards the end. She wanted this moment to be over with, she wanted this strange stalkerish vampire to be gone.
She wanted to be left alone just like she originally was.
When she only heard footsteps and not words, Sawyer opened her eyes and watched as Godrik slipped away, quiet as a mouse. He left with no objection, knowing she’d charge at him if he pushed her too much in one night.
That was the thing with Godrik, he already knew her too well. Knew where she’d hunt, knew how she’d react to the things he’d say to her.
Sawyer briefly wondered if he had planned all this, or if he was actually unaware that as she watched him walk away, she felt emptier than before she had fed.
She wondered if he had known how much it would hurt her to not ask him to stay.
Thank you so much bb!!! Hope I got him right!!

“I find that answer vague and unconvincing.” Sawrik or Saxel ;)
imma go ahead and put this under the cut bc it got 1200+ words outta hand lol sorry bye
Sawyer was leaned up against a wall in an alleyway shrouded by shadows. She peered out into the streets at unknowing passersby, people unaware there was a monster in their midst. They strolled down the sidewalk without a care. Couples were laughing together, holding hands, exchanging adoring glances. How human.
Envy surged within Sawyer for they had what she never could. There would never be a love like that for her; there was no room for that kind of light in the dark life she led. No, instead she was waiting for perhaps the most monstrous man she’d ever met. The sun had gone down hours ago, but he still had yet to show his face. And Sawyer was tiring of waiting, growing more sour as the minutes ticked by. Just as she was about to cut her losses and leave, she heard echoing footsteps approaching behind her.
Streetlights cast a golden halo around her petite silhouette and the moonlight reflecting off of her silver hair was like a beacon in the night to him.
Godrik got within inches of her, waiting for Sawyer to turn and acknowledge his presence. He knew she heard him coming, he made sure she did. When she continued intentionally ignoring him, he leaned forward and whispered in her ear, “Boo.”
Even though he didn’t startle her, Sawyer’s heart still sped up at Godrik’s appearance. A delicious shiver reverberated through her body at his proximity. She cleared her throat and composed herself, determined to show him that he had no effect on her whatsoever. Rolling her eyes, Sawyer faced him. “You’re late,” she scolded with her arms crossed over her chest.
“I’m only late because I was getting you this,” Godrik replied as he grabbed the fabric draped over his shoulder. He proudly presented it, holding it out by its thin straps. It unfurled and revealed itself to be a mid-length, form-flattering dress.
Sawyer gave him a look and reluctantly took it from his grasp when he offered it to her. She let the satiny midnight blue material glide between her fingers as she admired it. “It’s beautiful,” she said quietly.
Godrik grinned, his dark eyes sparking with delight at Sawyer’s approval. “It will be once you’re wearing it.” His gaze dragged over her as he was already picturing what a vision she would be with more of her creamy skin showing for his eyes to devour.
“Where’d you get it?” She asked, tilting her head to regard him through narrowed eyes.
Godrik shoved his hands in his pockets and shrugged, rocking back on his heels. “Just this place,” he said. That damned smirk of his curled at his lips.
“I find that answer vague and unconvincing,” Sawyer retorted. When a gust of wind carried an all too familiar scent to her nose, she lifted the dress closer and inhaled deeply. “And it smells like blood. You killed someone for this, didn’t you?” She raised her brows expectantly.
“Well, the girl who was wearing it didn’t do it justice like I knew you would.”
“I would’ve rather you brought me her heart than her hand me downs,” she grumbled.
Chuckling, Godrik brushed Sawyer’s silky strands away from her face and stared intensely into her icy eyes. “The night’s still young, angel, and I’m still hungry,” he said in a low voice that hit Sawyer in the pit of her empty stomach. “Throw on that dress for me, I’ll give you all the hearts you can eat.”
At that prospect, the pout on Sawyer’s crimson lips became a smile.

Sunrise was imminent by the time Sawyer returned home. She entered as quietly as she could manage, sure that most of the others would be asleep at the hour. A heavy sigh escaped her and she started on the path towards her room. There was nothing she desired more than to curl up in her bed. However, she didn’t get more than a few feet from the door.
“Where have you been?” A deep voice questioned.
Sawyer halted in her tracks, clenching her eyes shut and silently cursing at herself. She peered in the direction of the speaker to find that it was exactly the last person she would want to be caught by. It was Axel.
He was in the sitting room to her left, slowly standing from an overstuffed chair and drawing to his full height. Seeing that Axel was in pajamas suddenly made Sawyer very aware of what she was wearing. And Axel noticed, too. A subtle blush crawled up her cheeks. She took the black sweater she had on earlier and slipped it on over the dress.
Axel began closing the distance between them. Sawyer’s breath got more and more shallow the closer he neared. There was still a comfortable distance between them by the time he stopped advancing. That’s precisely what she wanted from him. Space. Her feelings for him were far too complicated. The last thing Sawyer needed was the complex emotions swirling around in her head, clouding her judgment.
“Are you going to answer?” Axel prompted to break the prolonged silence. He gazed down at her with piercing eyes that seemed as though they were drilling holes into her.
“Out,” Sawyer replied tersely, forcing herself to meet his glance.
“I find that answer vague and unconvincing,” he said.
Sawyer opened her mouth for a rebuttal, but his words gave her pause when she really heard them. It was the same thing she said to Godrik earlier. She shook her head at the strange coincidence. “Fine, you got me. I was volunteering, reading religious texts to the elderly. Happy?”
“I would be if you weren’t lying to me.”
“What gave me away?”
Axel shot her a pointed look. “For one thing you’re a little too dressed up for that.”
“Old people appreciate beauty, too,” Sawyer countered as she smoothed out her skirt.
Giving an exaggerated exhale, Axel folded his arms and Sawyer tried not to notice how prominent the movement made his biceps. “Come on, Sawyer,” he murmured, his eyes softening. “We were supposed to train, you didn’t show up, and no one knew where you were. I couldn’t find you. You can’t just disappear.”
There was a concern in Axel’s voice normally only reserved for Jasmine, but this time it was for her. Her heartbeat fluttered in her chest followed by a swell of guilt. Of course, she didn’t forget that she was supposed to meet Axel; that’s why she went with Godrik.
Sawyer reached up to gingerly place a comforting hand on his shoulder. “I won’t next time,” she assured him.
“Next time? So these mysterious nighttime excursions are going to be a regular thing?” Axel asked, brows furrowing.
“Maybe,” Sawyer said below her breath. “Look, I’m tired. I don’t want to talk about this anymore,” she added, turning on her heel to head for her bedroom.
“Wait, I…” Axel started as his hand darted out to gently catch her by the wrist. Sawyer peered back at him and his eyes dropped to the floor. “I was worried about you.”
With an insincere half-smile on her face, Sawyer pulled away from his fingers. “You don’t have to worry about me, Ax. I can take care of myself.” Axel lifted his head to say more, but Sawyer was already walking away. All he could do was watch her disappear around a corner and leave him behind.

“so, uh… who, uh, who is that person? they keep texting you…” sawyerxaxel? :3
Sawyer sat on the kitchen countertop glaring intently at her blank phone screen, her legs swinging back and forth. Axel was across from her cooking one of the few dishes he knew how after their arduous training session. He’d asked her to keep him company, but he could tell her mind was elsewhere.
Normally, Axel preferred quiet, but not when it came to Sawyer. He found himself missing the sound of her voice. He was always dreadful at initiating conversation, though. His piercing eyes kept flickering over at her, waiting for her to look up. Hoping she would relieve the silence that had settled between them.
Sawyer nearly let out a yelp when her cell vibrated, but she caught it just in time. She didn’t want to alert Axel that anything was going on. She didn’t want to answer the questions that would follow. Truthfully, she didn’t know how she could tell him. How could she even begin to explain Godrik?
Not even she understood what she was doing with Godrik.
Lately, she’d been trying to distance herself from him. It was a difficult task considering his habit of stalking her. Sawyer even blocked Godrik’s phone number, but that didn’t slow him down in the slightest. He kept texting her from new numbers, and she kept blocking them. She could only assume that the phones he was using belonged to people who died for Godrik’s cause.
His messages ranged from ‘you looked beautiful today’ to ‘I killed that guy who spilled coffee on your dress.’ The newest one was different. No words, just an attachment.
Sawyer brought her lower lip between her teeth. Her finger hovered over the screen as she considered whether or not she should open it. She worried seeing Godrik’s face may weaken her resolve to stay away from him.
Sighing, she told herself she was being ridiculous. Certainly looking at a mere picture wouldn’t shake her conviction. Before she could talk herself out of it, Sawyer opened the message.
Her powder blue eyes widened, her crimson lips parting in a soundless gasp. At first, all she saw was red. She blinked hard a few times to keep her vision from swimming, and the details became clearer. It was Godrik’s face she was looking at, but it was masked in a thick layer of blood. His cruel fangs were bared in a deviant smile, his blackened eyes staring directly through her. There were bodies in the background. She couldn’t tell how many.
Sawyer’s tongue darted across her lips as the memory of how they used to kill together resurfaced in her mind. He was trying to tempt her. And it was working.
Her face twisted in disgust. More at herself than at Godrik; she didn’t expect any better from him. Sawyer clutched her phone as tight as she could without shattering it in her grip and clenched her eyes shut, but the image remained in her brain. She didn’t even notice that her breath was coming in short, shallow pants. But Axel did.
He also noticed how attached Sawyer had been to her phone lately - more so than usual - and how on edge she seemed. Axel wondered if whoever was on the other end of those mysterious phone conversations could have something to do with it. He just had to figure out a way to talk to her about it without sounding like he was interrogating her.
“So, uh…who, uh, who is that person? They keep texting you…” Axel asked trying to be as casual as possible, stumbling over his words uncertainly.
Sawyer’s head snapped up. She met his gaze briefly and shrugged. “It’s nothing. I mean no one,” she said.
Axel’s eyes narrowed at her suspiciously. He slowly approached her as he crossed his arms. Sawyer tucked her platinum hair behind her ear and drew her phone closer to her chest. She was doing her best to maintain her composure. She was doing her best to bury the anxiety welling up within her as Axel neared.
“Then why is your heart beating like that?”
“Like what?” Sawyer was attempting nonchalance, but the fact that she was unable to look at Axel deceived her.
“Fast,” he said. That single word made her breathing stop altogether. Axel’s brow furrowed as he adopted a tone of concern. “Are you okay, Sawyer?”
“I’m fine,” she reassured him, forcing an unconvincing smile.
After studying her, Axel shook his head in disbelief. She was clearly distressed. “You don’t seem fine. Let me see that,” he said. He reached for Sawyer’s phone and panic seized her.
Her body reacting faster than her thoughts, Sawyer gave him a hard shove which sent him stumbling away from her. She hopped down from the counter with a huff. “Mind your own business, Ax! Just worry about your fucking meat!” Sawyer stomped out of the kitchen leaving a stunned Axel in her dust who could do nothing but watch her leave.
