Pinsir: Like in canon, she's a gentle soul. If she had a Nature, it'd be Timid. She falls for Ash's Heracross, but Heracross is more interested in plant sap.
Butterfree: He would become her main Gigantamax Pokémon if I let her have one instead of Vivillon.
Raichu: Yes, this is cliché, but I like the idea of a Raichu starring alongside Ash's Pikachu.
Misdreavus: Random fact of the post: before Mystical Fire became a TM in generation eight, Delphox and Mismagius were the only two Pokémon that could learn the move.
Absol: Serena owns one in the games. Her manga counterpart also owns one.
Altaria: Serena owns one in the games, and they were one of the Pokémon I can picture her using back then. These days, they don't Mega Evolve due to Lisia's Altaria.
Lilligant: Lilligant I consider a Pokémon Cilan would own, but I prefer Serena having the Unovan form rather than the Hisuian variant. However, I'd prefer her to have a Whimsicott.
Frogadier: Mostly due to Pokémon Masters EX and the manga letting Serena have a Greninja of her own.
Galarian Corsola: A call back to Serena missing a Johtonian Corsola in the anime.
Falinks: This one's strange, but I like the idea of her having Pokémon that don't fit the feminine or cute mold. I can see her bonding with them and helping keep them in line before catching them.
Alcremie: This is a Pokémon I wanted Serena to have before I chose Butterfree as her Gigantamax Pokémon. One of her passions is baking, so I thought she could help her out.
Cinderace, Inteleon, and Grookey: I once talked with a friend on Discord, and they pointed out that all three of the Galar Starters fit Serena in some way. Were it not for me choosing Swampert and possibly Grovyle to complete the Fire, Water, Grass trio, I'd go for it.
Pokemon Scarlett and Violet is almost here, and I decided to revamp one of my old pkmn oc's. Quick heads up, he's a SatoGou fankid, just want to make things clear.

If each of you had to be Gym Leaders, what type would you go for, what team would you have, and what would the premise of the gym's puzzle be to have the opportunity to battle you?
Goh: Well, I think mine would be bugs, because I have lots of those! My puzzle would make the challengers answer trivia questions about various subjects, so it'd test their brains as well as their brawn! 🧐
I'd have Parasect, Pinsir and Heracross (can't separate those two, after all), and Shedinja!
Ash: I wish I could say mine'd be Electric so that I could use Pikachu, but... I just don't have that many Electric-type! So I'll pick Fire.
Pikachu: Pikaaaaa 😥
Ash: Sorry, Pikachu 😭 But anyway, I'd have lots of options for a team, since I have 7 Fire-types, I think? Yeah. And I wouldn't have a puzzle, let's just have fun with pokémon battles! 😋
Chloe: Uhh. I don't have enough pokémon for a team, but I suppose it could be normal-type? It depends on if Eevee will evolve or not. Unlike these other two, I want to keep my starter on my team!
Goh: Hey, now >_> We have good reasons!
Chloe: And my puzzle would be a sliding-tile puzzle. The challenger would have to complete the picture to unlock each room in the gym! I don't know what they would show, maybe some of my pokémon, I guess. When I catch some. If I catch some. Goh spent most of our pokéball budget already 💦
Was reacting to a Pokemon episode with no context and thought of you so story time! (I don't know what I'm doing. How are you?)
Okay so we start with Goh introducing Lilligant to the rest of his Pokemon. Cut to a scene where Heracross makes a flower crown for Lilligant and Pinsir gets jealous. I assumed that Pinsir wanted to be with Lilligant and starting screaming at the TV.
Now, cut to Goh saying that Pinsir was upset that Lilligant was stealing Heracross away. My dumbass believes that Pinsir and Heracross are friends, and that this is actually a friendship focused episode and got all excited.
Cut to a new scene where Pinsir and Goh are at a flower arranging class and announce that they're doing this so that Pinsir can win Heracross back romantically. Ended up screaming at the TV again. (I thought this was going to be a gay romance for a minute but it turns out that Pinsir is a girl. In my defense, I was watching a random episode with no context.)
(Also honorary mention for Team Rocket because I love them but they are so fucking stupid.)
(Long story short, they're together and it's sweet but I'm disappointed because I thought this episode was going to be friendship-centric but it wasn't.)
Nuuuu, it's NEVER friendship centered.
Anyway, Jesse an James are always the highlight of Pokemon, love those funky guys!
Oof, this one's really late! The next episode's gonna come out in a couple of days and I still haven't posted my costumary screenshot commentary...
Well, here it is now! Hopefully the deluge of images (and gifs) makes up for the wait!
WARNING: EXTREMELY LONG
(ALSO SPOILERS FOR JOURNEYS EP 94)
Cerise Park has gained a new occupant in the form of Dredear Lilligant! All the pokémon fall in love with her about as quickly as people fall in love with Ash... er, what? 😳
Much wholesome fun ensues. Goh and Ash spend some time playing with the pokémon. Maybe seeing all these birds will remind Ash of that other bird he has a commitment with...
Meanwhile, a besotted maiden works hard at a flower crown for her beloved...
But forsooth! Betrayal! Heartbreak! Pinsir (Pindame? Pinlady?) has experienced the bitter taste of being abandoned the moment another, more attractive female comes along. What will she do about this?
...It seems she has decided to sulk and mourn for her sundered love. Poor Pinsir (Pindamsel?)
Ash, being Ash, is quick to provide a solution that has only ever applied to him and helps no one /lh
Goh is shocked at how easily Heracross has dumped Pinsir (Pin...waif? Ok, I'll stop 💦), though Grookey apparently has no idea what everyone else is paying attention to and is trying to fake it by looking in the exact opposite direction.
Ah, the pangs of heartache. Ash has no doubt seen that expression on the faces of many boys and girls after bluntly telling them he considered them "good friends" /hj
While I initially wasn’t looking to Erika’s return due to how unsettling she kinda was in her first episode way back in the Original Series, it was very nice to see her in a much better light this episode. I’m glad she brought up the time Ash saved her Gloom from her burning gym, but I’m honestly find it strange there was no mention of the fact that Ash’s first go at her gym involved him having to crossdress. Personally, I think Goh and Chloe’s reaction to that would’ve been funny. Speaking of her Gloom, I’m also surprised that Pokemon of hers didn’t make an appearance as well. Since they’re Erika’s most iconic Pokemon in the anime, I would’ve had it recognize Ash upon arrival and show some affection, be by their trainer’s side outside of their Pokeball, and maybe have evolved into either a Vileplume or Bellossom prior to the episode’s plot. I did like how much more amicable she and Ash were to each other, however.
It was enjoyable seeing Pinsir and Heracross’ relationship get some focus again, being some of the Pokemon in Goh’s entourage that actually have some development and personality. (they even beat mons like Arctozolt in that regard) And since Chloe’s Eevee was able to get her Leafeon episode out of the way, it was nice knocking two birds out in one stone.
Of course, this episode isn’t without its problems. Outside from the small missed opportunities involving Erika that I mentioned earlier, it was honestly a bit annoying that the episode went out of its way to show almost all of Goh’s Pokemon meeting Lilligant when they can’t do the same with Ash’s roster meeting a new member on their side, Gengar being the only one of Ash’s Pokemon seen at the lab (you’d think Dragonite would always be around to greet a newcomer), Celadon’s Gym being almost entirely deprived workers in comparison to its initial appearance in the OG series, Goh and Chloe being surprised that Ash and Erika know each other despite how unsurprisingly it should be at this point, Erika not bringing up Team Rocket’s own ban from the gym that was never lifted, Ash, Goh, Chloe, and Team Rocket being the only participants in Erika’s contest (it all just makes the episode feel empty), Meowth’s feelings for Chloe being supposedly dropped, and the lack of impact Pinsir’s X-Scissor had that made Team Rocket blast off.
Overall, I’d give this episode a 7/10. Good for what it is, just also too damn empty. And next week’s episode should be fun, especially with Butch and Cassidy’s return.
shoehorning this before the autism takes over me with this one but when this episode first aired i remember i was like “ugh its weird how they treat trading as this inherently immoral thing, when yeah there should be a line drawn, but i want more examples like aipom/buizel where the protag realizes their pokemon would fit better with this other person’s interest and find a new friend as well that way cause it does make for compelling drama”
but now idc not only bc i know thats not at all what this episode wanted to do but also because now i realize that if goh really did trade his pinsir (who’s been in like 3 eps i think) away on a whim then people would have demonized him even more and said shit like “omg he doesnt care about his pokemon he sees them as items and he doesnt care for their wellbeing!!!”

August 16th: NS033 - Who Wants to Trade Pokémon?
Satoshi and Go are visiting the Kuchiba City Trade Event, where a Trainer that really wants a Kailios asks Go to trade with them.
The usual trading episode! Kailios is Pinsir for those who don’t know! I wonder how Gou will react to trading...
August 23rd: NS034 - Saito, the Lone Warrior! The Otosupus Menace!!
Satoshi and Go are visiting the Fighting Dojo in Yamabuki City with the intent of challenging the Karate Master who's the Dojo Master to a Pokémon battle, but it turns out he's just lost to a Fighting Type Gym Leader from the Galar region?!
A Kanto episode but in Saffron City! It’s the dojo north of the city that they’re going to if we’re to assume the place. And Saito’s gonna be using Grapploct, did she have one in the games? I battled her yet I don’t remember lol
August 30th: NS035 - I Got Pikachu
Go wants to get his own Pikachu, so he heads straight for a place where there's said to be an outbreak of them. There he encounters a whole lot of Pikachu!
Gou getting Pikachu! Inevitable, doesn’t mean anything in the long run. I wonder if this is the Kanto’s Pikachu Forest.
Ash and Goh go to a trading pokemon event. There they meet a girl from sinnoh name Koromo. She loves bug type pokémon and she Ash opponent. But she really wants Goh Pinsir which I was surprised Goh Pinsir is a female.
Did you know a Mega Pinsir is so excited about having wings that they rarely land while in the form? Honestly, that’s pretty cute.
Goh: I didn't, actually! I should try that with my Pinsir sometime!
...That is, if I ever manage to find a Pinsirite, since I don't have one right now. Now that I'm working with Project Mew, I really need to work on making my pokémon stronger!
