And this ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when a Frieza simp has enough free time to pay him tribute in the form of a little amateur animation 👀💜🖤✨
Ok fuck it it’s late and my brain is hyperactive so I’m gonna infodump on here about ptolomea cuz like it’s maybe my fave song of all time
so through the whole song we hear the voice of Cain speaking to Ethel. And like it’s meant to be all oooo scary cuz it’s like a this deep creepy demon voice surrounded by flies. But it’s not like that. As he says, he is neither good nor evil simply he is. To me cain always sounded almost comforting. While Ethel was in the midst of her stockhold syndrome, only Cain would tell her that her partner was malicious to her
But he is not a protector, he’s just an observer. He never stopped any of the abuse Ethel endured from anyone. He simply watched from the dark. He felt a connection with Ethel, but it wasn’t love. It was a form of blood ownership like a father could feel for a daughter. That’s why he opens the ending speech by calling her a daughter of Cain. Directly going against the holiness implied in her being a preachers daughter. Because she follows in cains footsteps. Her father may have been a preacher, a holy man, but he sinned and thus made Ethel do the same. The hypocrisy of American Christianity babeyyy
my favorite part of the track is after the second Cain monologue, when we hear Ethel’s voice trembling in fear as she talks to someone. “What fear a man like you brings upon a woman like me” has 2 obvious meanings. One is obviously her being afraid of her abusive partner, as she begs him to stop the abuse (her asking him to stop could also be her begging the drugs she is on to wear off before she descends into hell). It could also be about cain. As he mentions, no matter how close they get, ethel will always run from Cain until she is dead and frozen. She doesn’t want to be near him, even looked at by him, but no matter what, she finds her way into Ptolomea
