My illuminated manuscript-style illustration for terpsichorean's fic, A Heavy Burden, as part of the @go-minisode-minibang 2024!
The story takes place in 1518 Strasbourg and Aziraphale receives a book of hours as a gift in it, so I decided to stick with the theme!
Check out the scanned pages of the book of hours I used as my primary reference here: The Morgan Library & Museum

Illustration for the fic Literature and Liquor by @sitruunavohveli (Tossukka), as part of the @go-minisode-minibang 2024.
"The year is 1809. Crowley’s friend Jane is a master smuggler of both goods and information who seems to know exactly who people are and how they act. Meanwhile Aziraphale has been helping her friend, a brilliant author Miss Austen revise her novel manuscripts in the hopes that they could one day be published for the wider audiences. When Aziraphale accompanies Jane to a ball, they run into Crowley, and all three are surprised by the other two being acquainted."
I enjoyed a lot researching and designing the clothes and the appearances of both Aziraphale and Crowley in 1809. I wanted Aziraphale to actually sport some slightly outdated fashion choiches!
On top of that I also had the chance to draw one of the most important English authors, the one and only Jane Austen, aka the brains behind the 1810 Clerkenwell Diamond Robbery, brandy smuggler, master spy :D Close ups under the cut!

What a piece of work that Jane Austen!

Hello everyone! I can finally share this amazing collaboration I did with Ashaydamn for the Good Omens Minisode Minibang! Art is by me, and the NSFW uncensored art can be found in Ash's fic! Please immediately go read their dark, sexy fic here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But like seriously, I love Ash's fics and it was so lovely collaborating on this piece with them. When claims went out I was terrified I wouldn't get this, because it was my first choice. The dark gothic elements and historical cult mysticism? UGH just a lovely ride.

Quisquis Amat or How am I Going to be an Optimist about This?
My submission for the Good Omens Minisode Minibang continues! Chapter 3 link and excerpt below:
Behind them, there was a sound like a dozen earthquakes. They scrambled to their feet, pelting up the crest of the hill to see a massive column of smoke rising from Mons Vesuvius.
“Good gracious,” was all Aziraphale allowed himself.
After rising for what looked like dozens of kilometers,45 the smoke started to spread out at the top, like the crown of the pine they had been eating under so contentedly only moments ago. Soft thuds started around them a moment later. Near them, something pale struck the dark, fertile earth. Aziraphale bent to examine it.
“Watch it!” Crowley yelped, and Aziraphale heard a frantic flapping sound and a muffled curse. He looked up, holding the lightweight stone that he had plucked up in his hand. Around them, more stones were falling, sparsely at the moment, but Aziraphale suspected they would be falling more thickly soon. Above him, Crowley had extended a protective wing.

Extract from Aziraphale's Journals: Travels in Medieval Philippines
時 永樂 辛未 九月 十二日 也
[Archivist’s note: In this period, Aziraphale used the Chinese dating system. In the Western Calendar: 12th September 1420.]
Tarung Village, Bagobo, Sulu Empire
[Archivist’s note: the Sulu Empire was located in Mindanao, the third largest Island in the Philippine Archipelago. The Bagobo tribe still exist today, however, their language and culture are listed as ‘critically endangered’.]
//
The local people have a story about a terrible demon. A buso. They call him Mamili. He is the Great Serpent.
Right now, coconut ink fresh on my quill, the light from the apitong oil candle casting flickering shadows over my hands, that very demon is asleep in my bed.
//
Today, I was humbled.
I stood before a tree that was almost a thousand years old. Wider than the mighty three-tiered pagoda of 杭州市 [Hangzhou] and taller than the dark spires of the Notre Dame, her presence dwarfed me into insignificance. It is rare for me to feel the ghost of mortality.
This great, cathedralic plant soared on hundreds of pillars, the thick stems braided together into celtic knots like broken spiderwebs, threads of time twining together over the centuries. High above, handfuls of delicate oval leaves fanned outwards, pitifully meagre compared to the great mass of bark below.
One was reminded of a liquid. Rivulets of tree had fallen from the sky, dripping downwards and solidifying as stalactites do.
Dozens of beings made their home within. Creepers, young and old alike, raced each other in their clamber upwards along twisting stems that provided perfect purchase. Here and there, peppery flowers flourished in a startling fuchsia. With eyes more focused than any mortal, I could see the lines of biting ants that had made their home close to the ground, and in another quarter, ink-black antlered beetles chirruped from within their nests.
“The Grandmother balete tree,” said the spiritual elder who stood beside me. They are known as Buhawi after the God of the Four Winds.
Whilst I was preoccupied with awe, they put down their burden. The wooden stopper did little to mask the vinegar tang of coconut liquor seeping out from the baked clay amphora. I mimicked them. In my wicker basket, I had carried the offerings.
We stood, side by side, and let the natural world cradle us. I closed my eyes. There were a million tiny sounds, but it could never be overwhelming for it all formed part of the same song. Every murmur, cry, or rustle belonged there within the shadow of that majestic, old being.
In that beautiful moment, so did I.
“Thank you,” I said. “I see why the Datu was so insistent that I accompany you here.”
They responded with a knowing smile which cracked the worn lines of their weathered face. They never smiled with their teeth, perhaps to hide the red betel-nut stains.
“Come,” they said, “help me with the offerings, and I will tell you about Grandmother balete. I will tell you her story.”
And so, as we prepared the areca nuts, the lime, and the betel leaf, Buhawi told me the tale of the Great buso who is called Mamilli.

Art post for A Chasing of the Wind
I'm delighted to have made this illustration of Aziraphale for the beautiful fic A Chasing of the Wind, by @fuzzygoblin, written for the @go-minisode-minibang. Go read it!!
Summary:
Music has power. It can make you feel, make you remember. And the power of a song is amplified when you are a celestial being over 6000 years old. And so, an unexpected memory stirs in Aziraphale when he hears a newly released single in the 1960s. His mind is sent back to reflect on the events that unfolded nearly 3000 years in the past during King Solomon’s reign. It is those memories and an unexpected ally in a Witchfinder that finally sway the angel's mind towards giving his oldest friend Holy Water.

The Feathered Serpent, digital art, 2024
My first ever Good Omens Big (mini?) Bang art! My wonderful writing partner @wayneverneseque-phd wrote a gorgeous fic, The Feathered Serpent, for the Good Omens Minisode Minibang. It takes place in Tenochtitlan (the capital city of the Mexica empire) in 1521, during the Spanish Conquista.
I fell in love with it from the description, and the fic itself was just as good--a nuanced, well-researched, and heartbreaking story. It was exciting to see Crowley and Aziraphale in Mesoamerica, and how they reconciled their ideologies with their chosen roles (Crowley as a priest of Queztalcoatl, Aziraphale as real-life Franciscan friar Geronimo de Aguilar).
What was even more exciting to me, though, was that it gave me a chance to explore my own indigenous Mexica heritage through fan art. I don't feel very connected to my roots, so it was remarkably healing to research and create this, especially the mural of Queztalcoatl.
I hope you read the story!

Ad Astra
“Brilliant, isn’t it?” “Hm?” replied Aziraphale, lifting her head from the piece of parchment she was writing on. “Oh, yes. Quite brilliant. Although, if you don’t mind my asking…what is it, exactly?” “S’ a star chart — well, first time anything’s been called a star chart, really. It’s meant to document,” she said as she waved her hands, “astrological phenomena, of sorts.”

Quisquis Amat or How am I Going to be an Optimist about This?
Will you do me the honor of accepting my submission for theGood Omens Minisode Minibang that has been illustrated by the brilliant @crowleyholmes? Set in Pompeii, written by a Latin teacher with a particular penchant for Pompeii, this story is something I’m particularly proud of. Read an excerpt below
A silver lump was thrust under Aziraphale’s nose, startling him.
“Hiya, angel, what do you think?” Crowley asked, standing over him. There was a roguish smirk on his face that made Aziraphale’s heart squeeze.
“Crowley!” Aziraphale exclaimed in shock, standing. “You’re back in Italy!”
“Yeah, I couldn’t take another winter up in Britannia. So I thought I’d see what’s happening with the movers and the shakers.” He shook the hand still holding the odd device. “Picked up a little something on my way into town.”
Aziraphale ripped his greedy eyes from the only thing they’d longed to discern for several years. It was much too unfair for Crowley to abruptly pop up and then demand he look at anything as prosaic as… what is this? He took the object in hand, turning it over in inspection. It was flat and oblong with a narrow end that widened out, and a grid scratched over its irregular body. A delicate protuberance from one side came up over the side of it. Odd as it was, something about the shape of it made Aziraphale lick his lips. Curious.
“What is it?” he asked, flummoxed.
“Portable sundial.”
