Hi! I know request most likely aren't open I just can't stop thinking of this idea! I was wondering if you could have scenarios where of the main 4 if their partner was foreign (leaning to Egyptian) and had issues reading Japanese and people kept laughing as they tried reading it until they stepped in?

Also, tbf to reader, the HxH universe has it’s own alphabet or some bs like that.

Gon:

Gon would tell off the people who were making fun of you and, out of the kindness of his heart, would tell you what the thing you were reading says. Little does he know, that doesn’t necessarily help you learn to read the language, but he’s not exactly the type to teach.

Killua:

He is glaring daggers at the people laughing at his partner — Killua’s pretty protective. Like Gon, he’d also say what you were trying to read, but he does it so you can be out of the public eye sooner. He won’t necessarily help teach, but he does supervise and correct you (albeit a little passive-aggressively).

Kurapika:

Kurapika will lean in and help you sound out the word. He refuses to bring attention to the people laughing you, not wanting to discourage you. Out of the main four, he is the best at teaching you a new language. Once the rest of the words click for you, he smiles at you like the proud partner he is.

Leorio:

Leorio will also help you sound out the words, but he lacks Kurapika’s class when it comes to the bullies. He wraps his arm around you and shoots a dangerous glare to the people laughing. He also makes it super obvious that he’s assisting you. In his opinion, you have no need to be embarrassed for trying to learn.
