★ grayson matches his tie to her outfits everyday

★ she owns a motorcycle and teaches him how to drive it

★ she messes up his hair at the end of the day to tease him

★ he'll go out to swim and she'll eventually join him and sit in a pool chair waiting for him to get out. sometimes even falling asleep, but grayson always carries her upstairs when that happens

★ they can talk to each other about ANYTHING

★ lyra doesn't like to admit it but she was super nervous when she met his brothers

★ and on that note grayson wrote a whole paper on conversation starters before meeting her mom and step dad

★ when graysons working too much lyra walks in and steals his papers or shuts his laptop and says he can get back to work after he takes a break

★ they travel everywhere together

★ lyra runs her fingers through his hair when he's falling asleep

★ grayson runs a finger from her waist to her hip when they're in an event just for her to know that he's their with her at all times

★ they have each other as their wallpapers

★ lyra had to take grayson shopping for an entire weekend to give his wardrobe a 'makeover'

★ neck kisses and back hugs when the other is stressed <3

★ grayson runs with lyra in the morning and they talk about what they have planned for the day

★ lyra gets really close to the brothers but especially nash since he's the one with all the embarrassing baby grayson stories

★ jameson will say something embarrassing about gray but lyra tries her hardest not to laugh but gets really red and eventually gives in

★ little stolen glances from across the room any chance they get

★ they immediately know when the others mood has changed

★ lyra does not know how to swim and grayson teaches her

★ grayson picks up her hair in a ponytail when it gets in her face

★ lyra absolutely bashes on emily the first time that she finds out about the double kiss plus dating thing

i have an idea for a lyra x gray fic should i write it?

i think i kind of have an idea for what lyra’s and grays relationship is going to be like!

so, we know that avery didn’t work out with grayson because she wanted risks and gambles, meanwhile grayson more wanted to protect the people he loves, and she didn’t want to be protected. and i think the reason avery is so drawn to risks is because her whole life she’s practically been invisible. she’s just been the average girl who never really got to live her life (in the way she does after tfg) and was never really in the eye of the storm, so that’s why her and grayson weren’t really meant for each other.

but what if lyra instead was in the eye of the storm her whole life? what if she seeks someone like graysons protection at times because she had to fight her whole life, (maybe in poverty, maybe other things idrk) and her life wasn’t really considered easy. im not saying that she has to be a fragile character who needs to be protected all the time, im just saying that maybe she’s been having to protect and fight for herself for so long that for once she feels safe having another person look out for her. and i think this because grayson is a character who generally likes looking out and protecting his partner in relationships. maybe in tgg he grows and doesn’t feel the need to as much, but no matter what he wants to protect the people he loves. i can imagine lyra being a character who can, without a doubt, defend and protect herself, but for once can feel at ease knowing that she’s not alone in the fight and has someone looking out for her. perhaps not as a bodyguard who needs to defend her from everything, but as an ally who will always be there for her.

Unexpected Company - Lyra x Gray

"Hey, gorgeous," Lyra's voice cut through the silence, making Grayson jump. "Lyra, what are you doing here? It's the middle of the night," Grayson asked, confused at the sight of a sleepy Lyra standing near his doorway. She had somehow entered his bedroom without making a sound. Grayson was sitting on a blue velvet couch, eating some leftover dinner Gigi had brought to his room earlier. He was spending most of his nights locked in his office, working. But decided to rest earlier, tonight.

"I just wanted to check up and see how you were doing," she said, looking around his bedroom, nervous. Grayson raised a questioning eyebrow. "I couldn't sleep," she finally said, hating the silence that stretched on. Grayson stood up from his place on the lounge chair, trying to get a read on her face. "Are you feeling okay?" "Yeah, I was-" “Just checking up on me?” Grayson finished, still confused. “I’ve been having nightmares about my dad again.” Lyra finally looked into Grayson's eyes, “And I didn’t know what to do. I swear, if I stayed one more second in that bedroom, I would go insane.” She rambled, “So you came here?” Grayson gave her a skeptical look. “Well, I didn’t expect you to be here." Lyra rolled her eyes slightly. 

“Excuse me? You didn’t expect me to be in my bedroom? At 11 PM?” "Look, the day after the masquerade ball, I decided to come visit you, and you weren’t here, so I looked around your room.” Lyra trailed off, staring at a point behind Grayson. Grayson turned around and saw her staring at his bookshelf. “You’ve been reading my books when you can’t sleep?” When she looked down into her hands, he continued, “You can stay if you want; I wasn’t planning on sleeping yet.” Lyra looked up and grinned. "You're going to entertain me, Mr. Hawthorne." Grayson quickly cleared his throat and looked away. “No, Ms. Kane. I’m not the entertaining type. You can sit and read if you please.” “Very well,” She spoke with a grin, walking lightly to the bookshelf and pulling out Little Women. “That’s the book you’ve been sneaking into my room for?” “What’s wrong with it? It’s a tale of sisters finding love and growing  up." She frowned, looking at the book on her lap. "Plus, you have the pretty red and gold version.” She said, opening the book up, Grayson cleared plates from the coffee table before settling onto the spot next to her. “Have you read this book?” Lyra asked unexpectedly, “Yes, only once for school." "Here, read it a bit; it’s really good." She handed him the book, urging him to read. Grayson started reading aloud on the page Lyra left off; she was sitting right there, reading over his shoulder. Slowly, her eyes started to grow heavy, eventually falling asleep. When Grayson noticed, he set down the book and picked up Lyra, making sure not to wake her. He set her down on the bed carefully. “Next time, I won’t surprise you, Mr. Hawthorne. I’ll just ask," Lyra murmured sleepily, snuggling herself deeper into the blankets and pillows. Grayson only smiled before turning off the lights and leaving his bedroom quietly.
