In so many places people are not complying with the directions and laws regarding Covid-19. I don’t know if that’s law and active medical health under the public health emergency directive than it is law yes! This is not just restricted to the UK , this is everywhere. Where I live, cases have been going up for the last 6 or 7 weeks back to the numbers they were in March. I think people have really slacked off on their handwashing, their social distancing and many people are out right refusing to wear a mask. Many stores and businesses now have instituted a mandatory mask policy. They have them at the door if you don’t have one. And if you refuse to wear them,  you are refused access into the store or business.I’m very sad to say that they have to put this into law.  BBC……Covid: £10,000 fines for self-isolation breaches. The new legal duty requires people to self-isolate if they test positive for coronavirus, or are traced as a close contact, from 28 September.New measures also include a one-off £500 support payment for those on lower incomes, and a penalty for employers who punish those told to self-isolate. Ruth Bader Ginsburg! A powerhouse of a woman! She fought through so much of an illness and still showed up at work! She was really good friends with the conservative justice on Antonin Scalia. Despite her leaning left in his leaning right they were great friends. A true picture of what working across the aisle means. conservative Supreme Court ……………

President Trump, during his first tenure in office, has been able to put two judges on the Supreme Court Judge Neil Gorsuch and Judge Brett Kavanaugh. He had also been able to,put in hundred of judges across the country. Needless to say with the government being Republican, these are conservative leaning judges. There are currently or there are eight judges on the Supreme Court of the United States with the head of the court being Chief Justice Roberts. I wonder how long it is will be before they have to get rid of the word chief because that will be seen as racist against the Indians of days gone by and their current generations. Oh I should not have said that now I gave somebody an idea!His vote can break any tie in votes on the courts, however his vote counts no more than any of the other justices.This is one of the most important reasons why people vote for Democratic or conservative other than policy is to have their judges on the court. This is regarding overturning Roe v. Wade which is the abortion law plus many other laws that are conservatives would like to see changed. So that’s going to be  be really really interesting. In President Obama’s last tenure in office, there was an opening on the court and the Republicans absolutely refused to take it to a vote his nominee, Judge Merrick. This is still the real sore spot for many many many Democrats. So last week when President Trump was talking about his list of judges that he would choose from were there a vacancy in the court and he was pressing Joe Biden to release a similar list. Well here we go there’s an opening on the court and once the grieving and all that is done in a week or so I am certain that they will try and put a judge on on the supreme court before the election, which is critically important! Republican Mitch McConnell said he would  bring any name forward to the floor for a vote! So I don’t know how they are going to try and push this through before November 4 but they absolutely will it’s critical! This is just me and my knowledge and supplemented by what I’ve seen on the news. I should not say just me it’s me and my knowledge base! Which is quite expansive!😁😁

Every group that is was once I’m struggling for words every group that was once thought it should be on the fringe like the anti-VAX her is an antifa and all these other fringe groups have now been given license to do what they are doing. And we have Black Lives Matter and various a city state province country region government that acquiesces to to them to thank for that. I predict that things will know not predict I have concerns that with the upcoming American election the feelings on both sides run so hot but it’s only one side that are rioting in burning down buildings you don’t see many conservatives doing that or any for that matter. 104 Words for 104 Days: Dynasty Part 1: Princess

AN: Takes place in Doof Dynasty time period. Artistic liberties have been taken, and by that I mean a LOT of artistic liberties have been taken. Also, I really wanted to write something with Isabella as the protagonist and this seemed like a good place to do it. Since this turned out much longer than I expected, I decided to just divide it into two parts.

“Sir! Our defenses have been compromised!” General Carl shouted, rushing into the royal palanquin and collapsing into a dead faint in front of Regent Monogram.

Princess Isabella moved her ink pot before Carl’s head could smash into it. Sensing that the calligraphy lesson was over, she carefully put the materials away while Monogram waved a jar of incense in Carl’s face.

“General, don’t faint until you’ve given us the necessary exposition first,” Monogram scolded. “And especially not in front of the Princess.”

Carl nodded weakly. “Of course, sir. My apologies, Princess.”

“Accepted,” Isabella said. “What’s this about our defenses being compromised? Surely Master Perry wouldn’t leave our country unprotected.”

“Princess, are you sure you want to hear about this?” Monogram coughed. “You’re not much more than a ceremonial figurehead until you’re of age. Until then, it’s perfectly acceptable if you want to lavish in luxury and leave the worrying to the professionals.”

Isabella fixed him with an icy glare. “Regent, I respect you and your administrative decisions. But I’ve fought Doofus Khan in a terracotta warrior before and if you’ll pardon my unprincess-like language, kicked his sorry butt back to the steppes of Mongolia. Those commoner boys fought for the Tri-Province Area and me when they were hardly trained, and I intend to do the same.”

“How old is she again?” Carl whispered to Monogram.

“Older than a child but younger than a teenager,” Monogram whispered back. “It’s the bow, I think. Throws everyone off.”

“Your report, General,” Isabella demanded.

Carl stood up and bowed his head. “The commoner boys who saved the Tri-Province Area were building the northern tower of the Great Wall near the Large Bamboo Forest of Largeness when Doofus Khan kidnapped them. Master Perry is currently training at the Loud Waterfall of Loudness, which is notoriously difficult for even the most fleetfooted messengers to access. Doofus Khan left this scroll, most likely to demoralize us before swooping in for his conquest.”

He handed the scroll to Monogram, who unfolded it and grimaced at the ink picture of Doofus Khan sticking his tongue out with a finger above his lip in an obvious mockery of his mustache.

“This means war,” Monogram huffed. “My mustache and beard combo is highly fashionable in this day and age.”

“There’s a message at the bottom,” Isabella said, placing her finger in the blank space to avoid smudging the ink.

Mwahahaha! If you want the boys back (lousy defense system by the way, do you guys really not have a militia?), send Princess Isabella to my Inescapable Fortress of Inescapableness! I wanted to call it the Inescapable Fortress of Doom, but my new scribe is defensive of his names. Just head due north. That’s all the directions I’m giving you. Don’t worry, you can’t miss it. Or do worry, cause I’ll be taking the Tri-Province Area soon enough! Have a bad day!

Doofus Khan

“Without Princess Isabella’s undeniable charm, our country will fall to ruin!” Monogram groaned. “We can’t abide by this fiend’s terms!”

“You aren’t stopping me,” Isabella declared. “I’m going to save my friends and the Tri-Province Area!”

“But-“

Isabella held up her hand to silence him. “I appreciate your concern. But I can take care of myself.”

“Very well,” Monogram sighed, the scroll dropping out of his hands with a dull thud.

Carl raised a hand sheepishly. “Sir, I believe I have the solution. Lady Firesong has trained a squad of preteen girls in the art of bodyguarding, self-defense, survival, pottery, gator wrestling, and decorative cupcake making. This would make for an excellent training exercise for the girls. I’ll send her a message after I’m finished fainting for the second time.”

Then he fainted again.

“I still think we’re doomed,” Monogram muttered.

The training complex wasn’t anything grand, especially compared to what Isabella was used to, but they had enough equipment that would make an entire Roman army jealous. Many silkworm cocoons lined each plant in the garden, and Isabella plucked one off the leaf out of curiosity, slipping it into her flowing sleeves while Monogram’s back was turned. He led them through a lantern-lit path until they reached an ancient portrait, which depicted an elderly woman in a flowing purple robe.

To Isabella’s surprise, the portrait bowed.

“I am Lady Firesong. Welcome, Princess Isabella. I’ve received word that you wish to perform a rescue mission. The girls who volunteered to accompany you are highly skilled in many areas. I hope you’ll find their company adequate,” the elderly woman rasped, then turned and clapped her hands. “Alright, girls! The Firesong anthem for the Princess, just like in rehearsal! One, two, three!”

Five girls in matching orange robes hurried into formation, singing the cutest song Isabella had ever heard in her life.

“-and it’s not too terribly long!” they chorused with a banner of the Tri-Province Area in the background.

Isabella applauded, much to the girls’ delight. Monogram didn’t look too impressed though. “Yes, yes, that was great. Princess, will you be okay?”

“Failure is not an option,” Isabella replied.

“Good,” Major Monogram said, reaching into his robe and pulling out a ribbon-tied scroll. “Deliver this scroll to Doofus Khan, will you? I, uh, have a very important message for him.”

“You can count on me!” Isabella exclaimed, taking the scroll.

Monogram nodded in approval and left, confused at the angry looks that were thrown his way when he still didn’t acknowledge their song.

“Well, it looks like my work here is done!” Lady Firesong exclaimed, settling back into her chair. “I am so glad I can rest here and let children handle matters of national security.”

Isabella’s clothing was custom-made by a tailor who exclusively served royalty, so creating her own Firesong robe was an entirely new experience for her. If Regent Monogram could see her filling baskets of cocoons, he would be horrified at the manual labor that a princess of her caliber certainly shouldn’t be doing.

But if a princess could operate a terracotta soldier, then she could easily create a robe out of raw silk. Besides, it was a great opportunity for learning about the other girls. She committed Gretchen, Holly, Katie, Ginger, Millie, and Adyson’s names to memory, only mixing them up twice when she was too busy taking the silk threads out of the boiling water.

“-and that’s why Lady Firesong trains us from birth. As a result, none of us really know who our parents are, but the rewards are worth it,” Gretchen explained as Isabella removed the finished robe from the loom. “I’ve always been told I’m more of a second in command type anyway.”

“Are you sure?” Isabella asked, stepping behind a bamboo screen to try on the robe. It was shorter than what she was used to, just barely reaching her knees, but much less restricting than her royal clothes. “I wouldn’t want to take your leader position just because I’m a princess.”

Gretchen smiled. “No, I can give orders, but I lack the charisma of a natural born leader. I should know. I’ve been trying for the Charisma Patch for years.”

“Well, I can always teach you,” Isabella offered. “It takes skill, confidence, and taking advantage of our naturally cute dispositions, but I’m sure you’d be able to learn!”

“Thanks! So, what do you think of the uniform?” Gretchen asked.

Isabella pushed the screen aside, twirling in her Firesong robe. “It may look delicate, but it’s durable,” Isabella said. “Also, I never knew I pulled orange off this well. I’ll have to ask my tailor for more clothing in this shade.”

Gretchen nodded, then poked her head in the doorway. “Katie! Are the accessories ready yet?”

“Right here!” Katie shouted, hurrying into the room and handing an orange sash and hairbow to Isabella.

“These sashes are the most important part of the Firesong uniform,” Gretchen said, pointing to her own sash. Unlike Isabella’s, hers was decorated with several colorful patches. “They’re proof of our accomplishments and fairly useful in a fight. Plus, we pooled our silver pieces for a hairbow. We just thought it’d look good on you.”

“Aw, you girls didn’t have to go that far!” Isabella exclaimed as she put on the sash. She let Ginger tie the hairbow, since the girl seemed enthusiastic about touching her hair.

Now that she couldn’t be recognized as a royal, they were ready for action.

“Storm the base!” Adyson shouted.

“Bring lots and lots of weaponry!” Holly suggested, pounding her fist into her hands.

It seemed they didn’t have much of a head for strategy. But Isabella supposed that was what a leader was for.

“Our main objective is infiltrating Doofus Khan’s fortress and rescuing the boys so they can complete the Great Wall,” Isabella said, and silence fell instantly. “But we need to pack only necessary items because a giant desert lies to the north, and we’ll need to cross it in order to get there. In other words, no more than what a two-humped camel can carry.”

“Katie, fill the water flasks!” Gretchen barked. “Ginger and Adyson, grab the food! Make sure you include lots of ox jerky!”

Adyson groaned. “I really hate ox jerky...”

“It’s a start, but there’s a necessary stop we should take before heading north,” Isabella continued. “Master Perry is currently training at the Loud Waterfall of Loudness, so we’ll need to go there first and get his help. What do you girls think?”

“Let’s go!” Millie exclaimed. The other girls echoed her battle cry.

Ginger held up a lute. “I’m in charge of the travel music!”

The other girls glanced at her.

“What? Travel music and a montage are necessary items too!”

Ginger’s idea of travel music was playing ‘You Snuck Your Way Right into My Rice Paddy’ over and over again. Sure, everyone liked the song, but after two hundred repeats without taking requests from anyone else?

Not so much.

Everyone was relieved when the roar of the waterfall drowned out her lute. Unfortunately, it drowned out everything else too.

Relying on finger signals and other forms of non-verbal communication, they made their way through the lush undergrowth. Millie and Holly used sharp rocks to mark every tree they passed to make the return journey faster, Katie scouted ahead, and Gretchen and Ginger dragged Adyson between them, who was still recovering from a nasty fall in a ditch.

When they finally arrived at the riverbank, they found Master Perry meditating underneath a pounding waterfall.

“Master Perry! The Tri-Province Area is in trouble again!” Isabella shouted, but couldn’t make herself heard above the waterfall.  

Everyone except Adyson added their voices, shouting as loud as they could, but neither the platypus or panda were paying attention.

Isabella silenced them with a wave of her hand. It just wasn’t enough of a hook to nab Master Perry’s full attention. They needed something more.

Isabella inhaled and screeched in the deepest voice she could manage.

“YOUR FORMER STUDENTS ARE IMPRISONED IN DOOFUS KHAN’S FORTRESS!”

Master Perry’s eyes snapped open. He dove into the water, resurfacing with a topknot and traditional warrior’s outfit.

The group went back to the main road so they could talk without screaming over the waterfall. Adyson muttered something about salamanders, her head lolling against Gretchen’s shoulder as her sandals dragged against the leafy soil.

“How did you do that?” Holly demanded, her hair still frizzed from the waterfall.

“I’m excellent at breath control. Plus it’s great for scaring Regent Monogram,” Isabella said. She turned to Master Perry and bowed respectfully. “The Firesong Girls and I wish to accompany you to the fortress. It is my duty as a princess to protect my subjects, and I cannot do that from a palanquin. You’ve trained the boys well back when they rescued me from Doofus Khan’s evil clutches. I will repay the favor.”

Master Perry stared off into space, several vibrations rippling through the air.

“Is that an attack?” Gretchen asked. She pulled off her sash, looping it around her hand and twirling the other end in the air.

“Stand down,” Isabella ordered. “He’s having a flashback. Just wait it out.”

Gretchen reluctantly obeyed.

A few seconds later, the rippling dissipated and Master Perry bowed.

“He’s done, hopefully,” Isabella said. “Phineas mentioned he has a habit of doing this. So, guess we’re heading due north now. Do any of you know where we can rent some camels?”  

Master Perry gestured for everyone to follow him.

“Who’s ready for more travel music?” Ginger asked. She tuned her lute, smiling brightly as she strummed a chord.  

“NO!” Millie and Holly screamed.

“Hehe, the salamanders are doing opera,” Adyson giggled.

Turns out Master Perry knew a faster way to transport them to the fortress. One that involved a massive red dragon that resembled the ones at Chinese New Year (but since it’s China, they just call it New Year), but much larger, more metallic, and without relying on people’s feet for an energy source.

“Master Perry! So good to see ya! Finally come out of retirement, I see! ‘Bout time! Never approved of you giving up on saving China after one little incident,” a jovial woman exclaimed. “And you brought an entourage this time! Name’s Glenda, so don’t forget it! What brings you girls to the Dragon Train?”

“We’re going to Doofus Khan’s fortress to rescue our friends. But isn’t this a little advanced for 1542?” Isabella asked, pointing to the giant dragon that Glenda called a ‘train’.  

“Yes, yes it is,” Glenda said, her eyes widening. “Did you say Doofus Khan’s fortress, girlie? Don’t you know that place is inescapable? I deliver supplies there myself. Don’t look at me like that, a woman’s gotta make her living somehow.”

“It’s only inescapable because nobody’s ever tried it before. It’ll be completely escapable by the time we’re finished,” Isabella said.

NJPW Hyper Battle, STARDOM Cinderella Tournament, NOAH Real Overture, DG Gate of Passion Tours All Begin; Great O-Khan Stops Assault On Child; Mania Weekend Summation; NJPW Strong Episode 85 - 4/2/2022; DDT Match on Train; BJW Title Matches

There has been a lot of wrestling this weekend. Several tours and tournaments began yesterday and today across many companies in Japan. And then there was the small matter of Wrestlemania Weekend in the USA, which doesn’t have AS MUCH Japanese involvement as there has been in years past, but New Japan of America ran a show on Friday, whilst Minoru Suzuki and Tomohiro Ishii, among other names, began American excursions that include dates outside of NJPW. In fact, let’s start with NJPW, as I so often do.

The Hyper Battle ’22 mini tour has begun, with a show that was not streamed live on NJPWWorld. That one is tomorrow. Indeed, I kinda considered holding on to this post until tomorrow to account for that streamed show, but decided I prefer sticking to the schedule I’ve set for myself in order not to make myself or my loved ones bonkers.

Post-match, Sabre declared himself as “Strong Style Itself,” and that he would make Okada tap out on Saturday at Ryogoku.

On Thursday, it was reported by Tokyo Sports that Tomoyuki Oka, the man behind Great O-Khan, had stopped a man from sexually harassing and assaulting a minor in Nakahara, Kanagawa Prefecture. The man was intoxicated, and the girl’s mother was away in a bathroom when this occurred. Oka also then fed the girl some pancakes whilst she was trying to calm down as her mother was coming back. Allegedly, when the girl’s mother asked Oka’s name, he responded as Great O-Khan, and asked that they watch him in NJPW. Nakahara Police have now sent a letter of appreciation to Oka for this. And obviously, it’s commendable what Oka did, and we hope that the girl will be alright in the long run after this horrific incident that could have turned out much much worse.

Several NJPW and NJoA wrestlers took part in Mania Weekend events in the Dallas area. It started off on Thursday 3/31/2022 at GCW’s Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8, which had Team Filthy members Royce Isaacs and JR Kratos beat Bad Dude Tito and Timothy Thatcher, respectively. Yuya Uemura beat “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Alex Coughlin took out SLADE. The host, Barnett, defeated JONAH, while in the first ever rematch at a Bloodsport event that I am aware of, Chris Dickinson defeated The King, Minoru Suzuki, by referee stoppage.

That same night, the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Super Show took place at the Fairmont Hotel as part of WrestleCon. On that event, Tomohiro Ishii beat Timothy Thatcher, whist Minoru Suzuki defeated Biff Busick, who fell at Bloodsport to Jon Moxley. The semi-main event of that show was a 10-man match that had on one side, Juice Robinson, ATSUSHI FREAKIN ONITA, the Rock & Roll Express and Colt Cabana, while on the other was nZo, and he’s human trash, so I totally lost interest in it at that point. But we now live in a world where Juice Robinson, Atsushi Onita and the Rock & Roll Express were on the same side in a match.

Friday 4/1/2022 was much busier, and better, for Minoru Suzuki, starting at the Lonestar Shootout NJPW Strong taping / live FITE TV event. As part of this show was shown live, I’m going to break my usual rules about not posting results from Strong tapings because what the Hell.

I’ve not had a chance to watch this yet, but the highlight for sure was Suzuki calling Killer Kross a “fucking Young Boy” before dropping him with the Gotch.

Suzuki followed that up with going to the Supercard Of Honor 2022 event that relaunches Ring of Honor under AEW owner Tony Khan. Suzuki is now the new World TV Champion, defeating Rhett Titus. I don’t think there is a world in which anyone would have put Rhett Titus over Minoru Suzuki. That said, the show also had three other title changes, as FTR, Mercedes Martinez and Wheeler Yuta all won the World Tag, Interim Women’s and Pure titles. All three of those winners are all AEW-contracted, whilst Suzuki is a freelancer ostensibly there as part of NJPW. While the show has gotten rave reviews, and some good press for a future vision of ROH, I’m not sure nearly every title being held by outside talents is good for this company. But then again, AEW technically own ROH, and there aren’t any actual contracted ROH wrestlers at the moment, so what do I know. We’ll see how this goes.

Suzuki’s night ended at Part 2 of Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6, where he defeated Effy. Meanwhile, over in Impact at their Multiverse of Matches event, Tomohiro Ishii beat Eddie Edwards, and Chris Sabin defeated Switchblade Jay White.

What’s next? Well, Suzuki v. Ishii has now been announced for the Windy City Riot show in Villa Park, IL on 4/16/2022. There is a Strong Taping happening next Sunday too that Ishii is part of, against Big Damo. Suzuki is scheduled to be on both of GCW’s shows next weekend: he will face Blake Christian at Paranoid in LA on Saturday 4/9/2022, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey at Devil In A New Dress on 4/10/2022 in San Francisco.

Post-main, Syuri announced her new unit name, God’s Eye, with Ami Sourei as her partner in it. MIRAI then defected from Donna del Mondo to the new unit, which brought the wrath of Giulia backstage. Natch. I’m assuming DdM is now fighting a war on two fronts, between God’s Eye and Prominence.

I’m not exactly sure why the plopped a second round match into the middle of the first round, and why Maika had to wrestle twice on this one. Post-match, Maika challenged Kamitani for the White Belt.

He then stated that despite being in R.E.D. before he was out with injury since Dead Or Alive 2021 (arm injury sustained during his Open The Dream Gate title challenge against then-holder Shun Skywalker, which prompted a referee stoppage less than five minutes into the match), he would not be joining Z-Brats, and was going to “start over from scratch” and “show his true potential” beginning at Dead Or Alive 2022 on 5/5/2022.

The tour takes a break until Wednesday. Thursday’s show will be streamed live on DG Network, and will feature the retirement of K-Ness.

Danshoku Dino challenged DDT GM Hisaya Imabayashi to a match, which will happen as a 6-man, Pheromones v. Imabayashi, AKIRA and Muscle Sakai. KANON, ex of Just Tap Out, appeared on this show asking to work at DDT.

Big Japan had a big show on Wednesday 3/30/2022 from Tokyo Korakuen Hall that saw Yuji Okabayashi make his first successful defense of the BJW World Strong Heavyweight title for this reign, beating challenger Yasafumi Nakanoue with a Golem Splash to retain. OKabayashi will now face his Strong BJ partner Daisuke Sekimoto on 5/5/2022 from Yokohama Budokan. The Deathmatch Heavyweight and Juniorheavyweight titles will also be put on the line at this show. Also at Korakuen, Daichi Hashimoto & Hideyoshi Kamitani retained the tag team titles against Yankee Two Kenju (Yuko Miyamoto & Isami Kodaka). Kamitani then announced his intention to challenge Yuko Miyamoto for the Deathmatch title; Kazumi Kikuta then offered to form a team with Miyamoto to challenge Hashimoto/Kamitani for their titles.

BJW and ZERO1 held a joint show on Friday, in the runup to ZERO1’s big 20th & 21st Anniversary show at Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan next Sunday. ZERO1’s spinoff Tochigi Pro Wrestling held shows yesterday and today continuing their CHONO Camp tournament.

I don’t think I could begin to list every single indie promotion that ran this weekend, and there are other blogs better equipped than this one that already do so. I was made aware for the first time today of a company called Best Body Japan Pro Wrestling, who ran a show on Thursday from Tokyo Shinjuku FACE. I know literally nothing about this company, besides AJPW’s Rising HAYATO is half of their tag champions. Wrestling never ceases to surprise and amaze.

Assignments, final projects, try-outs, mock weeks, finals, college applications, these are what senior year is made of. Naturally, it’s the period of time when you most feel the urge to jump off a cliff. From the first week of school, I could already see the differences senior year brought to my school mates. People were starting to realize that they had to receive great marks, they had to get accepted into good colleges, they had to do this and that as ways to an accomplished future.

Over the years of being a high school student, every time there was a free period, or just any studying-free moment at school, we would watch movies, gossip, or simply be on our phones for hours. Now in every free periods, my classmates would take out these heavy-ass books that can be used comfortably as pillows and actually study. Or re-write their notes. Or revise a subject for next week’s quiz. Anything to keep them working (just curious, do these symptoms apply to all senior year students around the world?).

Since junior year were pretty traumatizing for me (thanks to student government), I had been planning all holiday to give my 110% for senior year. Long story short, I hit it off since day 1 and came out alive six months later. Although it resulted in me spending 3 days sleeping in after end-of-term exams were over, I’m really happy for having been very productive this entire term. I know there’s still 6 months left and the worst parts are yet to come, so I decided to share a few tips exclusively coming from someone *glares at myself* who did remarkably awful the previous year and somehow found a way to crawl back from death

1.       Know Where You’re Going

Getting to the very last year of high school, this is the MOST important part of surviving. Without having your long-term goal, it would be like taking down hundreds of obstacles without having a destination in mind. You don’t know where you’re going, but more monsters keep showing up on your path. Trust me, you’ll eventually get tired and stop trying midway. Losing motivation when you’re in the most vital part of your study can’t be a good thing.

Do research on the degrees you’re interested in taking, from their passing grades to job prospects. Make sure you actually enjoy the subjects needed for those degrees. For example, if you can’t stand Biology, better if you don’t consider attending medical school, and the same goes to other subjects as well.

2.       Maintain Productivity

The amount of school work you’re getting can be overwhelming, that is why you have to do them as soon as possible to prevent them from piling up. You don’t have to finish them all in one day, it’s impossible and careless. At least try to do them bits by bits until the night before due when you can go over what you’ve done and fix a few imperfections or cross-check your answers. Try doing this to multiple assignments instead of focusing on one or two assignments the entire week.

I usually bring unfinished assignments to school so I can get to work when I have free time, usually before after-school extras, or while waiting for an extra course. This way instead of going on Tumblr for hours, I’ll be figuring out math problems and (hopefully) have the homework done by ½ when the course starts.

3.       Gather Motivation

Take a look at that magnificent building, I will build tens of those once I become an architect. Have you seen the latest VSxBalmain collection? I’ll someday be working alongside Olivier Rousting .

It’s very important to keep being productive and use every free time wisely. While you’re at it, make sure to keep your motivate-o-meter at high level. Motivation and inspiration can come from anyone, anywhere and it doesn’t even have to come from anything relevant to your life goals. I usually get a boost of motivation after watching a couple videos of my favorite Youtubers (which has no correlation whatsoever to being an engineer), and I recently  got a huge inspo from reading Crazy Rich Asians. It seriously motivated me to work my ass off and be rich.

4.       Don’t Stop ‘til You’re Proud

Catch up on things you don’t fully understand. If you had a problem with certain subjects or materials, find the answers right away, don’t wait until the day before quizzes or mock tests when you will desperately need answers. Ask teachers, your friends, or our most trusty friend the internet. You can also download several applications to help you study, like Khan Academy and other similar apps. Once you put one problem out of sight, it will become easier for you to put more aside . This is what happened to me last year, I had problems understanding Chem but I refused to actually figure them out, thinking I would learn the materials later. 10 laters later, I got a 7 for end-of-semester test while my classmates received 9s and 8s.

So you have studied for this particular test and still got a bad mark. Shit happens honey, tough it up. Even while I’m writing this, I fully understand that the theory of ‘picking-yourself-up’ is much easier said than done. Give yourself some time to breathe, and start with “okay, where did I go wrong?”. Figure out the errors to make sure you’re not doing them the second time. Consider it this way: the subject has betrayed you and you’re getting a revenge. I planted this idea the very first day of senior year, the thought has driven me to never quit trying. It’s almost like Elle Woods to Warner, but instead it’s me and Physics.

5.       Get A Rest.

Senior year doesn’t mean you lose all hope of going on shopping sprees, watching the latest movies, or taking care of your Tumblr blog. If anything, I’ve watched more movies with my friends this year than I did previous years, simply because we have little time to relax so we made the most of one when we had the chance to. As long as you keep track on your to-do-list, stay discipline on your schedule, a little catch up on KUWTK won’t hurt.

Don’t push yourself to the point of falling down. Read books, paint, dance, even play games (Mobile Legend is the hype these days it’s getting annoying), anything to keep you sane and motivated. Never let the pressure of GPAs and prestigious colleges take positivity away from you.

6.       Don’t Over-Rest.

Yes, hun, I was just telling you to enjoy your senior year and now I’m telling you to not over-relax your way. Maintain a schedule, make agreements with yourself and stick to it. “At 8pm I will start on Math homework, and the rest is for tomorrow”. “I will work my butts off from 8 to 10 am then I can go on Tumblr”. “I will start on my History papers and take a rest after 2 pages”.

I’m not telling you to work 24/7 because that’s not healthy, I’m ALSO not telling you to spend all your weekend in bed and procrastinate because it would defeat the whole purpose of learning to be productive. Once you let yourself procrastinate, It’ll be easier for you to do it for the second, third, and fourth time.  Sometimes you just need to gather your will, get up and face those text books.

Well, there you go. These are all the things I have been doing to not only survive, but to do well in high school. I have been doing all these tips religiously for the past 6 months, it’s almost impossible not to feel tired or even want to just cut it off. But studying routinely makes me feel in control of what’s happening currently, what’s going to happen next, what I want to be doing in the future. So get up and let’s kick asses together.
