Greetings from Desiderata Valley. Public (community) lots

A quick introduction to all of the public lots in Desiderata Valley. This is the lots that can't be owned by a sim.

There's currently 7 public community lots in Riverblossom Hills:

Spark! Sports Park The sports park in Desiderata Valley has a basketball field, a pool, a soccer field and a small playground. The Soccer Club meets up here on Thursdays.

Desiderata Valley Fire Station The Fire Station in Desiderata Valley might be small, but it has never failed the town or the towns nearby.

Hillside Pass Camp The campsite is where the scouts have their meetings once a week. There's three cabins with different activities to try.

Greaves Greener Gardens Relax at the park with a little picnic, or consider contributing to the community garden area.

Desiderata Valley Promenade The promenade is a fun place at the beach, where all sims can relax, eat, play, sunbathe or even swim in the ocean.

The Beach Pier Café Right next to the promenade, you find the Pier Café, where you can buy a cup of coffee. At night, the upstairs opens up for some dancing/fun. (:

Desiderata Valley Country Club The Desiderata Valley Country Club is a premium place located right at the beach, where only the richest Sim are welcome. Membership costs a one-time-fee of §150.000 and secures you a life-long membership.

Freetime Posters - 12 Nature Hobby Posters

Happy Saturday everyone! It's the weekend, so it's time for the second set of Freetime hobby posters. This week's hobby is one of my favorites, Nature! Swatch, info and download under ye olde cut!

Like the last set, these are on @linacheries’ wonderful 4t2 conversion of Simsza’s National Park Prints (mesh is included) and feature a dozen designs made with Flaticon elements + a bunch of Simlish fonts. They're all inspired by locations, features, items and Sims from the game.

Greaves Greener Gardens

A low-CC makeover of the Desiderata Valley park, complete with a cute coffee shop, an ice rink, and a space-themed playground.

Two Dogs recolors from the usual set by @leaf-storm, ancient rec-s of the Maxis Teapot by jim, and NL Pineapple as maps by @yandereplumsim​.

Recommended:

Less attractive vending machines by kestrelynn or else there’s gonna be a traffic jam around it. 

(Also, just FYI, sims unfortunately don’t sit down when they eat ice cream - they go to stand behind the counter.)

Finally decided to add Desiderata Valley to Strangetown. I have never ever played with premades of this town before.

First thing I did was this renovation of the Greaves Greener Gardens. Because if there’s one thing that I truly enjoy building in the sims, it has to be parks. You just can’t screw it up, it’s gonna look decent no matter what. 

I tried to keep it as close to the original as possible. But gigantic public toilet? Had to go.

Very much a work in progress (needs a lot more trees and more tinkering), but I like how this is coming along? Just trying to figure out the exact layout that will work best. The hood is just so damn big, and giving it the slightly more semi-urban vibe I want while keeping anything about the original look/layout is tricky.

Desiderata Valley actually has a modified terrain compared to its sc4 file. Orignally I vasstly preferred the sc4 and planned to use it since it was nice and flat, but it was really close to sea level and caused Greaves Greener Gardens to flood completely, whereas the modified terrain that ships with the game has most of the houses on a slightly raised areas, possibly for this reason.

I used the “hiking trail” trick from @simhealing to make a little footpath leading up to the observatory, it’s 100% my favourite part so far.
