The Quartz gem exclaims, her smile beaming bright as she grabs her close friend’s hands within her own  — 

。·:*:·ﾟ☆  — ❝ I HAVE to show you something - Look, look ! Aren’t they just 𝒶𝒹𝑜𝓇𝒶𝒷𝓁𝑒𝑒𝑒𝑒𝑒𝑒𝑒 ? ❞ 

𝑅𝑜𝓈𝑒 squeals as she leads her to what appears to be a small bird’s nest laying 𝓅𝑒𝒶𝒸𝑒𝒻𝓊𝓁𝓁𝓎 in a tall patch of grass — it’s tiny inhabitance peeping, mouths open WIDE — as if expecting food.

。·:*:·ﾟ☆  — ❝ I found them like this — I wonder if they fell from that tree && I wasn’t sure what to do but — I want to help them. What do you think ? ❞

   This wasn’t the first time that Peridot had been poofed, but it was the first time she’d taken more than a few hours coming back from it.  As it stood, she’d been in her gem for almost three days.  Although most of it was because she wanted to take her time in deciding how she wanted to come back, there was a small part of her that stayed so long because she was ... scared.

   What if the fighting still hadn’t stopped ?  What was happening to all her friends ?  would she come back only to find everyone GONE ?

   After everything they’d all been through together, she wasn’t sure she could handle it if she had to be all alone.

   Still, she had to come back some time.  The fact that she was still conscious was proof enough that she hadn’t been shattered, at least, and she found the hope within herself that everyone else was okay, too.

   When the light glittered and shone in her shape, she came back mostly the same as before.  The main difference was that now her shirt lacked the blue collar it had before, the diamond there had become a star, and she was wearing low-ankled boots instead of the skintight stockings she’d had before.

   Also, she landed on a ... pillow ? ? ?

          ❝  Ooouuughuhhh ...  ❞    Okay, maybe her first words should have been more dignified.  She was still a little sore from being zapped and destabilized, though.  When her vision cleared, her gaze fell on ...           ❝  Uhhhh ... Steven . . . ? !  ❞

They were all fighting, just like she was, for those she knew, for her home. All this seemed fruitless but quiting already wasn’t her intention. Running would do nothing now, it’d just leave her friends in the hands of danger, Lapis could not bear such feelings.

She’d always abandon Steven, Peridot, thinking about herself & fleeing but that was enough, no more... would she get away.

An attack had caught her by surprise, sending the ocean gem pummeling against the sandy ground, far from the group. While the damages felt, left her to rest there, Lazuli made slow progress to sit, atleast.  

‘‘I-I can’t stop..’’, she muttered, they needed her. Peridot was already in her gem state, she could not do so, not  yet.

Eventually, hurried steps, got the blue gemstone, away from thinking further. She glanced cautiously behind her, only to remark Steven heading her way.

@greedlaw is a close friend and a ball of sunshine. We probably have some of the cutest Steven and auntie interactions ever when she’s Steb–she also has such a gorgeous blog and she’s just a peach and she made the icon to our rp server on discord a baguette and I will never. understand why.

“But so is Homeworld!” Yellow exclaimed, glaring at the child’s stubbornness. “It is your heritage! You are, for all intent and purposes, a princess according to your Earth terms. And you said we are family. Did you lie to us, Steven?”

(I mean she almost got the term right.)
