SW Characters x Greek Deities
↳ Shmi Skywalker x Maia
Maia was the oldest member of the Pleiades. The Pleiades were seven nymphs that made up the constellation of Pleiades. The name “Maia” translates to “nursing mother.”
Maia was a shy goddess, dwelling alone in a cave situated close to the peak of Mount Kyllene. When she was living in the cave, she gave birth to the god Hermes in secret. Hermes was the son she had following an affair with Zeus.
Maia was the daughter of Pleione and Atlas, though she referred to them as Pleias and Atlantas. Beyond the fact that she lived in a cave and raised both Hermes, not much is known about the life of this reclusive goddess.

SW Characters x Greek Deities
↳ Padme Amidala x Dike
In ancient Greek culture, Dike is the goddess of justice and the spirit of moral order and fair judgement based on immemorial custom, in the sense of socially enforced norms and conventional rules. She was one of the three Horai (Horae), goddesses of the seasons, and keepers of the gates of heaven. Her sisters were Eunomia (Good Order) and Eirene (Peace). Like her siblings, she probably also represented an aspect of springtime growth.

f(x) aesthetics; greek goddesses 》Amber ⇢ Artemis
Artemis, in Greek religion, the goddess of wild animals, the hunt, and vegetation, and of chastity and childbirth. Artemis was the daughter of Zeus and Leto and the twin sister of Apollo. Among the rural populace, Artemis was the favourite goddess. Her character and function varied greatly from place to place, but, apparently, behind all forms lay the goddess of wild nature, who danced, usually accompanied by nymphs, in mountains, forests, and marshes. Artemis embodied the sportsman’s ideal, so besides killing game, she also protected it, especially the young; this was the Homeric significance of the title Mistress of Animals.

f(x) aesthetics; greek goddesses 》Luna ⇢ Persephone
In Greek mythology, Persephone is the daughter of Zeus, the god of gods, and Demeter, the goddess of agriculture. As the wife of Hades, king of the underworld. Persephone is a true nature child, being the daughter of the goddess of the harvest. Her mother is also affectionately known as Mother Nature. Persephone is a living example of youth, beauty, and life, and draws the attention of the king of the dead. While picking flowers in the Vale of Nysa, she was seized by Hades and dragged down to the underworld. For the rest of her life, she would be required to spend half of every year in the underworld. Thereafter, Persephone's return to the underworld accounted for the barren appearance of the Grecian fields during mid-summer, when, after harvest, the crops dried up until the return of the autumnal rains.

f(x) aesthetics; greek goddesses 》Victoria ⇢ Hestia
Hestia’s name means “hearth” or “fireplace,” and her status shows how important the hearth was in the social and religious life of Ancient Greeks. Making and preserving fire was both essential and difficult for more primitive societies, which made the household fire a sacred element at a very early stage of history. In later days, Hestia became its embodiment. One of the original Twelve Olympians. Cronus’ and Rhea’s first-born child, she was pure and peaceful.
