Lares 2 lanciato nello spazio con il lanciatore dellEsa

Lanciato Vega C, con un satellite italiano. Con il satellite dell'Asi Lares 2 e 6 cubesat. E' partito Vega C. il nuovo lanciatore dell'Agenzia Spaziale Europea (Esa) costruito in Italia dalla Avio. Alle 15:13, ora italiana, il razzo si alzato dalla base di lancio europea di Kourou (Guyana Francese) per il suo volo di qualifica con a bordo un carico che parla italiano: il satellite scientifico Lares 2, dell'Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (Asi) e 6 cubesat, fra i quali gli italiani Astrobio e Greencube, realizzati per l'Asi da Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (Inaf) e Sapienza Università di Roma. Il lancio si concluderà in poco più di 2 ore con il rilascio del carico in orbita e lo spegnimento dell'ultimo stadio del razzo.

Problemi che sono stati superati ed è stato possibile riprogrammare il lancio con 120 minuti di ritardo, alle 15:13 italiane, al limite ultimo della finestra di lancio possibile. l primo stadio, chiamato P120 a combustibile solido, del lanciatore Vega C ha concluso la fase di spinta e si è distaccato 2 minuti e 26 secondi dopo l'accensione e raggiunto la quota di 77 chilometri. Ora la spinta sarà garantita dal secondo stadio e terzo, rispettivamente Z40 e Z9 che esauriranno il loro compito 7 minuti e 22 secondi dopo il lancio. A quel punto è prevista l'entrata in funzione Avum+, il nuovo stadio a propulsione liquida che trasporterà in orbita i carichi con precisione rilasciando i satelliti su orbite differenti. La durata dell'intera missione di lancio è prevista in poco più di 2 ore. Si tratta del lancio di qualifica dell'evoluzione dell'innovativo piccolo razzo sviluppato in Italia negli stabilimenti di Avio a Colleferro e che in questi 10 anni ha dimostrato grande flessibilità e affidabilità. Il nuovo lanciatore denominato Vega C, dove C sta per Consolidamento, integra una serie di importanti miglioramenti grazie a un nuovo motore P120 a combustibile solido, un secondo stadio migliorato e maggiore capacità di carico, sia masse maggiori che volume più grandi. Il nuovo motore Avum+ a propellente liquido permetterà inoltre a Vega C di rilasciare i carichi su orbite differenti. L'ultimo stadio avrà infatti la capacità di effettuare ben 7 riaccensioni, che si traducono nella possibilità di rilasciare i satelliti in 3 orbite differenti e infine di indirizzare lo stadio finale in un'orbita di rientro in modo che bruci nell'atmosfera senza lasciare detriti. A dieci anni dal primo volo di Vega con il satellite Lares, si propone quindi lo stesso binomio italiano. Lares 2 (LAser RElativity Satellite 2) è stato concepito e progettato dal team scientifico del Centro Fermi e La Sapienza Università di Roma e stato realizzato dall'Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (Infn). È una sfera in lega di nickel ad alta densità dalla massa di 300 chilogrammi sulla quale 303 retroriflettori che permetteranno di tracciare la sua orbita con grande accuratezza, i dati permetteranno di verificare sperimentalmente alcuni aspetti della relatività previsti da Einstein e di eseguire misure di geodesia spaziale attraverso il Centro Spaziale dell'Asi ai Matera. Keith was with the kids today since he was allowed to work from home, being an author has its perks and Shiro wished he could do it too, but unfortunately, he had to look after other people at the hospital. 

The groupchat was Keith’s idea to keep him in the loop of whatever was happening at home. Ever since they adopted the kids, it had been a wild ride. Keith felt down knowing that Pidge and Lance didn’t like him, but all was in the past now. The three kids now had this wonderful bond with his husband and Shiro had never felt so relieved. The times Keith worked at home helped a lot for the kids to know that their other Dad wasn’t as bad as they thought he was.

Shiro waited as he finished his lunch, a few seconds later Lance had attached a photo. A photo of his recent drawing and Shiro wanted to cry. He immediately download the attachment and zoomed in.

His door opened and a nurse came in. Judging by the way she was looking at him, Shiro knew he was doing The Look. The Look reserved whenever his family did something adorable that made him want to go home.

“Doc, no,” she softly said, blocking the door. 

“But Kelly,” Shiro frowned. “Look at what my son drew! It’s me!! As a mermaid!” He showed her his phone for proof. “Look at my beautiful long hair! And my seashell bra!!”

He could tell she was endeared but she was struggling to keep her face straight. “No, doc. You can’t go home now. You have an operation in less than an hour. The patient’s family wanted to meet you and—” she moved quickly locking the door the second Shiro stood up and looked at her.

“Kelly,” Shiro pouted. His eyes widened when he saw Kelly fish out her phone and stared at him. “No, don’t. Don’t you dare call my husband.”

They had a staring contest that got disrupted when Shiro’s phone rang. He picked it up without checking who the caller was.

“Be strong, Takashi,” was all Keith said on the other line before hanging up.

Then his phone beeped again, notifying him he had a new private message from Keith. Attached was a selfie of Keith and the kids blowing him kisses.

“This is so not fair.” Shiro wanted to cry and go home.
