The Hierophant Grima attempted to awaken the soul of Grima within the current timeline's Robin. It didn't quite go as planned. A scene from my Fire Emblem: Awakening fanfic, More Than A Vessel, commissioned from the talented @ailheim-art! It is also a gift for my girlfriend because Grima Robin is the most gender being to ever exist.

The number of people who no longer realize Awakening was a swan song of a dying series that miraculously recovered because of it, and thus miss out on the multitude of characters who are direct references or amalgams of other characters in the series depresses me. Robin is just Deirdre, part of Caeda (her being a driving recruiter for Marth), and Soren with a sprinkle of the FE7 tactician all mashed into one character. Chrom has shades of Ike, Marth and Sigurd. Lucina is just Seliph but a girl. Grima has shades of a FEW evil dragons throughout the games. It's all on purpose! You're not clever saying "the First Exalt is just a rehash of Marth" when that's the point, it's a reference. Awakening is a love letter and farewell to the series that just happened to instead save it!
