Calling Ghost Trick fans! - Ghost Trick Fan Survey (WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE GAME)

Hi Ghost Trick fans! So a few months ago I started having a lot of curiosities about the Ghost Trick fandom since it’s relatively small and a bit more secretive than most fandoms I’ve been in (at least from my experience). So I decided to make this survey so I could see some things about the overall Ghost Trick fandom.

It’d be really cool if y’all would respond! I hope to get at least 100 responses and I’ll close responses and post about my findings when I feel I have enough data to work with. If you could, could you please reblog this or share the link with other Ghost Trick fans?

Just finished Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, chapter 2! Thoughts and opinions:

I am Loving these hitmen. Nearsighted Jeego, One Step Ahead Tengo, I hope there’s more, I hope they all come back….though I also kinda hope it doesn’t become a problem for me. Oh, Capcom game dogs named Missile, my beloved. Very endearing dog. <3 I’m not usually automatically endeared to animals so it’s saying something.

wdym that purple haired lil girl isn’t Lynne’s sister??? WHAT IS SHE DOING HERE????? They DO seem to have a sisterly dynamic, like we meet Lynne and think she’s the hapless, funny klutz one and then we meet Kamila, and Lynne calls her up already sick of her nonsense. That’s sisterly love. I know this, I am the himbo, comedic older sister. I like them both sm.

very endeared to everyone rn. Green suit and blue suit detectives, my beloved. Weird prissy family with unknown drama, my beloved. Lynne and Kamila and Missile, my beloved. SISSEL MY BELOVED we got his name. I love how his corpse is just labeled “Sissel”. Like yeah, nothing unusual here. He’s got so much swag, so much rizz, he’s also so stupid, I wanna be him, peak male form.

Ghost trick spoiler thoughts I had while working on my most recent drawing

GT:PD SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT

Thinking about the process of Yomiel learning how to control his body again. I mean, when he took his body back from the morgue in-game, he got up and walked out pretty naturally. But what if it didn’t go so smoothly? He’s spiritually puppeting his own corpse around, and it’s probably a very different experience.

There’s a lot of bodily functions that we don’t necessarily *think* about; blinking, breathing, walking, etc.

So essentially what I’m picturing is Yomiel’s detachment from his body resulting in him being really uncanny (at least at first)

He zombie-walks at first, having to remember to keep his torso upright while manually moving one foot in front of the other. Even as he gets better at it, there’s still a stilted nature to his steps; never able to keep a steady walking rhythm.

Regaining his voice was the trickiest part. He had to learn what shapes to manipulate his throat and larynx into to formulate each sound. I feel like he’d sound like something out of the Mandela Catalogue, or similar horror content where an inhuman thing tries to mimic human voices. Once again, he gets better with practice, but there’s still something…off about him.

He never blinks, and why would he? He’s got the sunglasses on, so there’s no need to put in the effort. He never breathes, which most people don’t really notice unless they’re paying attention.

There’s a video game called Who’s Lila? that I heard about recently from a Jacob Geller video. In that game, you physically click and drag your characters facial features to form expressions, often to unsettling effect. I imagine it’s a similar process for Yomiel’s face. And without the ability to feel pain or damage his body, I can only imagine what expressions he could contort his face into without those limitations.

I like Yomiel as the cool, calculated, menacing presence that he is, but I also think the concept of what he is lends itself to the potential for uncanny imagery.

ANYHOOT; I just think it’s a cool concept to think about. Plus, there’s the added tragedy of his own body becoming such a foreign object to him, having to relearn things that were once second nature, and still not quite attaining a convincing visage of humanity. More traumatic experiences for Yomiel, why not.

Hope you enjoyed ghost trick! That game made me lose my mind playing it the first time

I ENJOYED IT IMMENSELY tbh i think i got tired of the "4 minutes before death" parts near the end-- it felt like EVERYONE was dying and i more enjoyed the puzzles where i got to think things through without a timer, but i still had a lot of fun in the end! though i had sorta been spoiled on Sissel's identity, i was still in the dark about like 90% of it and it was the craziest story ever

i think towards the middle i was like. "ok this is getting ridiculous" but it only took a second before i realized what all of it ACTUALLY meant! i didnt expect it to explain the main mechanics of the game and that was awesome ill put spoilers under the cut incase anyone wants to play it blind

Yomiel and Sissel are. so upsetting to me. the twist revealing that Sissel wasnt who we thought he was and that we had the wrong corpse was fucking awesome. seeing Yomiel just waltz around like we werent his ghost was seriously chilling, and the inspector shooting him only for him to just casually stand back up is so cool. i can nerd out forever how gt:pd sets up perfectly that you can operate without others seeing you, and often times struggling to get people aware of your presence, and then later introducing characters who KNOW youre there, and you have to desperately try and avoid them. its so awesome. i love it so much
