Gucci came up with many iconic products: from the bamboo-handled handbag, the buckled belt, to the ever -present mocassino. No other brand holds the same fame as Gucci, but more importantly, no other brand holds a special place in the heart of Italian culture like Gucci does.

Gucci is an Italian luxury fashion brand. In 2008, it generated € 4.2 billion in revenue worldwide. The Gucci Group is owned by the French company Kering. Immigrant Guccio Gucci, an immigrant living first in Paris and later in London, worked as a hotel worker in his youth and was impressed by the luxury of the luggage that the guests brought with them. After returning to his hometown, he set up a shop in Florence where he could buy fine leather goods in classic shapes. Together with his three sons, Aldo Gucci, Vasco Gucci, Rodolfo Gucci built the company and soon opened another store in Milan and then in Rome. Finely crafted leather accessories were sold as handbags and shoes
During World War II, handbags were made of cotton instead of leather due to lack of material. The canvas is marked with a double G symbol. With the creation of offices in New York in 1953, products made for movie stars and products for travelers to Italy became a symbol of the international status of Gucci goods.
