The left side hasn't been worked on at all, but the right side has all been straight-built and I'm thinking about what colors I'd want to paint them, if I want them in a diorama, what themes to use, and what other customization I could apply.

XXXG-01L2 Gundam Livelance Heaven

This was an oddly hard model to photograph. When taking photos, you don’t want there to be a ton of negative space, and that can be an issue when what you’re photographing is long and slender. Pole arms fall into that category, and the fact that the Livelance comes with a very long beam effect doesn’t help. I only photographed it at full length four times (three of which were in Scythe Mode), and ended up cutting off the end of it in three of those to keep a balanced composition, with the only exception being held incorrectly in order to fit it in frame. I suppose I could have had it lancing another unit to fill that space in, but that might have also taken focus away from the Livelance. Tricky business, it is.

The Good: This is a fairly posable kit, with a lot of extra joints; a sliding shoulder joint, an extra waist joint, and the knees are detachable to increase their range. That extra range is very helpful since it’s using a two-handed weapon, and can achieve a decent number of poses that utilize it effectively. It also has bent-wrist holding-things-hands to help with that as well.

Also, while the Helios had a ton of new parts, the Livelance is a good example of reuse of old parts, with very few extra parts in comparison. It even took me a day or so after its reveal to figure out what it was based on, and the pun in the name, which is a sign of a good revision.

The Bad: One of the advertised gimmicks is swapping parts between kits, but since the Freedom and Deathscythe are from different lines, there’s some looseness that makes it not really work. Also, since it reuses parts, there’s some stickered detail that isn’t sculpted.

Biggest issue is the pearlescent white isn’t great. Especially on the head, I had several issues of marring, staining, and cracks formed just by piecing things together, so be very careful when assembling specifically the head.

Also, would have liked it if the cape had a lock when not active.

The Details: Apart from the black panel lines and fill, I added a number of metallic blue details (some of which replaced stickers) to the head, shoulders, scythe, and the front of the cape, as well as under the translucent blue on the forearms to embolden the color choice while retaining the details, unlike what I did with the Helios where it was directly under the plastic. I also added some yellow paint to the front and back of the back skirt, and to the inside of the cape (where the aforementioned missing detail was).

Overall, I like this kit, and if the other recent Wing kits are anything like it, I might have to try them out. But it’s also very creative in its own right, and makes me excited for the other Breakers kits I plan on building in the future.

My newest little scrunkly

Yeah I don't think I've ever mentioned it, but my brother got me into gunpla when I was like nine and I've been slowly collecting them ever since... One of these days maybe I'll post all of them.

But yeah, this is my first dip into customization- I added a couple holes and pegs so I could have the Livelance's own wings along with the other wings (my brother gave them to me), along with the eyes of course. I also made a halo, but haven't figured out how to attach it yet.

Masami Ōbari to Direct Six-Part Gundam Breaker Battlogue OVA

  If it weren't for Gunpla, Mobile Suit Gundam wouldn't be what it is today. Appropriately, the model kits have gotten plenty of anime outings, including the Gundam Build Fighters series. And there's more to come, as game series Gundam Breaker prepares to break into anime with Gundam Breaker Battlogue.

    The six-episode OVA will pull from across the world of the game series, featuring familiar characters and units. Here's the cast as it stands, with each character's respective voice actor returning from their role in the games:

  Misa Satsukino (from Gundam Breaker 3) — Yuka Iguchi

  Kadomatsu (from Gundam Breaker 3) — Tomokazu Sugita

  Ryusei Fudou (from Gundam Breaker Mobile) — Kensho Ono

  Noted mecha anime director and designer Masami Ōbari returns to direct the OVA, following his "Battlogue" series for both Gundam Build Fighters and Gundam Build Divers.

  Take a look at all the action to come in the first PV (be sure to hit "CC" for subtitles):

    Alongside the anime, Sunrise will be launching the "Gundam Breaker Battlogue Project," further strengthening the bond between Mobile Suit Gundam and the Gundam Breaker franchise. New Gunpla seen in the games and anime will be available as physical kits, and — just like in the series — you'll be able to mix and match parts to create your own custom Gundam.

    U.S.-exclusive Gundam Breaker Gunpla kits are also in the works.

  A story mission serving as a prequel to the OVA is now playable in Gundam Breaker Mobile, as well.

  Gundam Breaker Battlogue premieres in October 2021. It will be viewable on the official Gundam YouTube channel in Japan, and on the Gundam Portal Site globally.

While I understand that a short mini-anime with about as much run time total as about 3 episodes made to sell toys isn't going to have a plot, having the antagonist's central drive to straight up destroy Gundam data - something that melee edgelord build divers might have done after brawl killed melee - to just be "I, uh, lost in the semifinals to a guy" is straight up uninspired.

You have Mr. Bushido in an (ugly) Astray, you have Wing "Four," you have Livelance fucking Heaven. Come *on.*

Fucker takes off part of a V fin as a "scar," bitch my only Carta Graze Ritter is missing an arm and has been faded by trying to get the paint just right for that aesthetic and I'll never be able to get a pristine one, we accept these things.

Also, his mobilesuit is a disgrace to fucking centaurs. "Uwu I give my mech weapons that don't take the legs into account."

La serie di corti debutterà online ad ottobre.

Il sito di “Gundam Breaker Battlogue” si è aggiornato svelando una prima locandina e una video anteprima dell’anime che, a partire da ottobre, verrà trasmesso in streaming sul canale YouTube giapponese ufficiale del franchise e su quello di Gundam.info.

La serie di corti sarà composta da 6 episodi e accompagnerà il lancio della nuova linea di Gunpla omonima, che come nei videogiochi permetterà ai fan di creare dei modellini personalizzati, combinando le differenti parti del proprio mobile suit.

L’anime è diretto da Masami Obari (Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue, Bubblegum Crisis) presso gli studi SUNRISE (Scarlet Nexus, Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway). La sceneggiatura è curata da Yuichiro Kitaoka e So Mayumi, mentre il design dei personaggi è adattato da Kenichi Ohnuki (Golden Kamuy, Gundam Build Fighters) and Shuri Toida (Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE).
