On June 3rd 2018, The Commonwealth Bank in Australia  agreed to pay the biggest fine in Australian corporate history for breaches of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws that resulted in millions of dollars flowing through to drug importers.

CBA will pay $700 million plus legal costs after federal financial intelligence agency AUSTRAC last year accused the bank of serious and systemic failures to report suspicious deposits, transfers and accounts.

As part of the settlement, CBA admitted to the late filing of 53,506 reports of transactions of $10,000 or more through its "intelligent deposit machines" (IDMs). Banks are required to report these large transactions within 10 business days, so that AUSTRAC can monitor them to see if the money might be going to crime gangs or terrorist networks.

This represents one of the many cases in the Global Banking Industry where the financial crime compliance system has been breached to allow funding for criminal activities.

Chemogenomics driven discovery of endogenous polyketide anti-infective compounds from endosymbiotic Emericella variecolor CLB38 and their #RNA secondary structure analysis

Yashavantha Rao, Devaraju Rakshith, Ballagere Puttaraju Harini, Doddahosuru Mahadevappa Gurudatt, Sreedharamurthy Satish In the postgenomic era, a new strategy for chemical dereplication of polyketide anti-infective drugs requires novel genomics and chromatographic strategies. An endosymbiotic fungal strain CLB38 was isolated from the root tissue of Combretum latifolium Blume (Combretaceae) which was collected from the Western Ghats of India. The isolate CLB38 was then identified as Emericella variecolor by its characteristic stellate ascospores culture morphology and molecular analysis of ITS nuclear rDNA and intervening 5.8S #rRNA gene sequence. ITS2 #RNA secondary structure modeling clearly distinguished fungal endosymbiont E. variecolor CLB38 with other lifestyles in the same monophyletic clade. Ethyl acetate fraction of CLB38 explored a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity against multidrug resistant pathogens. Biosynthetic PKS type-I gene and chromatographic approach afford two polyketide antimicrobial compounds which identified as evariquinone and isoindolones derivative emerimidine A. MIC of purified compounds against test microorganisms ranged between 3.12 μg/ml and 12.5 μg/ml. This research highlights the utility of E. variecolor CLB38 as an anticipate source for anti-infective polyketide metabolites evariquinone and emerimidine A to combat multidrug resistant microorganisms. Here we demonstrates a chemogenomics strategy via the feasibility of PKS type-I gene and chromatographic approach as a proficient method for the rapid prediction and discovery of new polyketides compounds from fungal endosymbionts. http://bit.ly/2lvoL6Z #PLoS

It is the year 2023. A hardliner government elected in power in Iran in 2021 after the failure of Hassan Rouhani to establish a strong economy from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or the “Iran Deal” negotiated in 2015. The Iranian Government elected in power has pulled Iran out of the nuclear deal and has re-established hostilities between the west and Iran. 

While the EU has joined the US led sanctions on Iran, the Iranian government has restarted its Nuclear Programme and has vowed to use them if it feels threatened by any foreign power. Moreover, Iran has stepped its proxy war campaigns against Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Because of these threats by the Iranian government, Israel is considering a pre-emptive strike on Iran and Saudi Arabia is considering plans to invade the rogue nation, leading the whole middle east into a situation of chaos and speculation. To make matters worse, the Russian Federation has fully backed the Iranian regime and has threatened military action against anyone who dares to target Iran.

As the situation pulls the global geopolitical scenario into chaos, the US National Security Council has secretly authorised the CIA to set up a top-secret Task Force under the Special Activities Division of the CIA and consider options to covertly remove the current regime in Iran and establish a Pro Western Regime in Iran. 

You are the chief strategist of the Special Activities Division of the CIA. Your task at hand is to prepare a covert operation for a Coup d’état in Iran to topple the current Anti-Western government and install an allied government in Iran.
