The snow was deep after a week of storms, and grass close to the surface was hard to find. The world had little detail except for the dead, white, skeletal snow gums left over from the 2003 fires and the wombats.

Walk 331: Charlottes Pass to Guthega 9km Rating: Wet, Wet, Wet. 14/05/2022 Well, the plan was to do the Main Range Circuit, but given the conditions - strong wind gusts, driving rain, low cloud and poor visibility we opted for the lower and more sheltered option of the recently completed CP to Guthega trail. The Parks board have done an excellent job and I am looking forward to doing this walk again in more favourable conditions. These conditions tested our gear to the max and at no point did anyone of us warm up enough to shed a layer.. that would have to be a first!
