So yeah.... Another screenshot redraw for celebrating the final cpc episode, honestly I've been obsessed with this webtoon since 2021 and I'm a little sad that it ended.
It's has been pretty fun! I'm not really good with words, lol.
( also this was really rushed so I had to use a sunflower garden bg instead of drawing the plaid palace since I became a little lazy but hope you guys like it anyways hehe)

Cursed princess club finished today, and well I feel like I'll miss something forever. I'm glad and very complete with the end because it was such a perfect ending to me, but I just know I'll miss it if I don't read it again, and I definitely will ❤️

The Portrait
AO3
Summary: Syrah holds an impromptu group therapy session to take everyone's minds off the curse-curing crystal. Somehow the topic drifts to First Loves i.e. first portraits, and Whitney is peer pressured into revealing the truth of the first colourful picture he'd ever laid eyes on.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
“All right, that’s enough– get in the therapy bubble, all of you!”
Whitney languidly opened one eye to witness the debacle unfolding before him.
It was a perfectly normal day for the Cursed Princess Club, the birds were twittering and the weather in the Haunted Forest behind the Pastel Kingdom was uncharacteristically pleasant, enough so that Syrah had scheduled an impromptu tea party (much to poor Curtis’ chagrin) complete with picnic blankets, freshly baked goods, and the most motherly attitude she could muster up in the wake of Prez’s absence.
Whitney wasn’t sure where exactly Calpernia had gone but had taken one look at the withering glare Curtis’ shot Syrah behind a tray of slightly steaming muffins and realised he’d probably be safer not knowing.
It must be something to do with the gala anyway, everything did these days.
Syrah had intended on lightening the mood after the disaster that was Gwen’s Dinner Party, but the impending introduction of a curse-breaking crystal had soured everyone’s appetites for the usual fluffy gossip that doubled as a means of relieving tension in the club. Dragging a begrudging Saffron along, the Pinocchio-fied princess held a mandatory sit down to discuss the pros and cons of portraits being used to arrange marriages (a topic she’d found in one of Prez’s abandoned lecture portfolios).
Whitney happened to be meditating nearby when the first sign of disagreement began.
Thermidora knocked over a cup of tea onto Abbi’s new dress, but instead of getting angry, the 80-year-old teenager tutted, shook her head and said something along the lines of ‘-see, this is why you need the crystal more than I do.’
This simple, offhand comment set off a chain reaction across the entire tea party and within a matter of minutes everyone was at each other’s throats about why a curse-breaking crystal would be the worst thing that’s ever happened to them.
Pillows were thrown, names were called and it looked like it was going to turn into a real brawl until Syrah picked up a metal tray and banged on it loudly with a pair of dessert tongs.
“That’s enough!” She repeated, setting down the tray, “Bubble. Now. You too, Whitney!”
Whitney started as she stabbed the dessert tongs in his direction accusatorially, but obliged. Everyone at the CPC was a force to be reckoned with, in their own way, and he had no intention of having more than one member be angry at him.
Once they were all sitting in a circle, Whitney sandwiched between Saffron and Monika, Syrah (on the other side of Saffron) released a breath.
“Now we all agreed that we’d wait till Prez got back to talk about the crystal didn’t we?”
“Yes Syrah,” a chorus of girls, and Saffron, echoed obediently. Whitney pretended to be deeply interested in the red-and-white fibres of the picnic blanket to avoid meeting her eyes.
Nobody had asked him what he thought about the whole curse-breaking crystal situation, but of course, why would they? Whatever claim he had on the item was likely lower than even Frederick; not that he coveted it of course. As far as he was concerned his curse wasn’t a curse at all but the consequences of his behaviour. A punishment that had slowly begun to flare up more and more since he’d gotten here.
“Great! Then let’s forget about all this woe-is-she business and get back to talking about what really matters!”
“But the history of portraiture is so bo-Oring,” Abbi whined, draping herself across a tired looking Renée, who sighed in agreement. A murmur of assent seemed to ripple through the Bubble as the princesses looked at one another and winced.
“You know Prez’s lectures never fail to put me to sleep, Syrah.”
“Yes, that’s why we won’t be doing history but your-story instead!” Syrah replied, eyes sparkling with mischief.
“Forget about the ‘Olden Days’– this group discussion is going to be all about your very first portrait-crush!”
A chorus of oohs and aahs filled the glade, as the prospect of a fun, shared experience, temporarily overshadowed the gloom of a cure. Whitney must have looked confused, because both Saffron and Monika simultaneously leaned over to whisper in his ear.
“Its like your first crush-“ Monika began.
“-but only from seeing their portrait.” Saffron finished.
“I had mine when I was only twelve,” Syrah grinned, eyes sparkling, “What can I say, I was a pretty popular child.”
“Yeah,” Saffron scoffed, “Or your parents just wanted to get rid of you as soon as possible.”
She smacked his uncursed arm and he yelped.
“Wait, aren’t portrait crushes usually the result of a marriage proposal.. or an impending one?” Monika asked, anxiously twirling a lock of hair around her finger.
“Don’t tell me you got proposed to when you were–”
“Mm, yeah,” Syrah’s momentary preening turned tart, her lips curling into something like disgust, “–and he was well into his twenties too. Luckily my father saw right through his charade.”
“He hired a man to paint him ten years younger, but the artist did his job too well and my parents insisted on meeting him in person. Long story short, there’s a reason I don’t wear chevron.”
Saffron fell strangely silent and Monika turned a greenish purple colour, looking like she was either about to choke or vomit or both. Even Whitney felt a twinge of pity stirring in his chest for the once tween-aged girl; therapy bubble indeed.
“Anyway,” Syrah continued, completely oblivious to her friends discomfort, “Who’s next?”
“I haven’t had mine yet,” Abbi sighed, catching only the tail-end of the mildly horrifying conversation, “Though I don’t think it’ll ever happen.”
“Oh don’t say that, Abbi,” Syrah frowned, pulling the girl in for a hug, “It just means that when it finally happens, it’ll be all the more special won’t it?”
“I guess so,” Abbi huffed, turning to the lobster princess on her right, “What about you, Thermidora?”
“Lobsters are excellent portrait-connoisseurs,” Thermidora replied easily, waving her large, clawed  arms inches away from Monika’s face, “I had many a suitor in my day, but none ever caught my eye quite like Benedict did.”
“Was there something different about his portrait?” Syrah prompted as Monika burst into a puff of feathers and landed in Whitney’s claws. He steadied the quaking magpie on his other shoulder to keep her out of harms way.
“Oh yes,” Thermidora resumed, unbothered, “He had the most well-kept moustache I’d ever seen, on a man or a lobster. It was quite the fad at the time!”
“Hear that Saffron,” Syrah snickered, elbowing her friend, “Lobster or man..”
“Oh, lay off would ya.”
“I- I haven't had mine yet either-” Monika twittered once she’d recovered her breath.
“But I can’t really sit still long enough to get one. Sitting still means I have to keep quiet, keeping quiet means all I can listen to are the thoughts in my head, and one thing leads to another and I get so anxious about it all that I just–“
The magpie squeaked as if to make her point and slumped unto herself.
“You could try listening to some relaxing music while they paint,” Jolie chimed in from across the circle.
“Or Read A Book.” Renée scribbled on her pad of paper.
“It shows that you have hobbies and interests!”
“Sorry.. um.. am I interrupting?”
The CPC looked up to see a familiar golden head hover at the edge of the glade, his bright green getup easily marking him out from the trees and foliage.
“Frederick!” Syrah exclaimed, waving over the young prince, “Not at all! Are you looking for Gwen?”
Whitney held up a hand in greeting which he mimicked, albeit hesitantly, once he caught his eye. Though the dinner was almost a catastrophe, Whitney remembered feeling relief burst in his chest when Frederick had called him his friend and saved their cover.
“Uhm.. yes. Is she- is Gwen- uh- around?”
“No, she’s probably busy getting ready for the gala,” Syrah huffed, “-but you’re welcome to join us.”
“Yes! Come, come!” Thermidora echoed.
Frederick looked like he’d rather pull a llama uphill in a makeshift cart again but swallowed his disappointment like a champ and reluctantly walked over to take Monika’s place.
“We’re talking about first portrait-crushes,” Syrah explained quickly and watched as the young boy brightened but then immediately turned pale.
“O- oh, I see.”
“So,” Abbi nudged after an uncomfortable pause, “Was Gwen your first?”
“My family doesn’t have the best reputation with portraits,” Frederick admitted, beads of sweat forming on both sides of his temple as the rest of the club members fell silent to hear his story.
“Our castle was haunted for years, and Father didn’t see the value in paying for an exorcism so all the pictures we commissioned were.. interesting, to say the least.”
“Oh! A friend of mine had the same problem!” Jolie interrupted, popping open her eye sockets to dig around for a picture. Whitney watched Frederick’s face turn two shades lighter; some curses would definitely take a while to get used to.
“Here!”
Everyone leaned in to see the palm-sized sketch the princess had dug out from her eyeless void; though barely qualifying as a portrait, the distinct silhouettes of a king, a queen and a young princess with green hair was overshadowed by a looming maw of darkness punctuated by two sharp jewels of red light, burning like coals.
“No matter where they went, the shadow seemed to follow them!” Jolie explained cheerily. Now it was Saffron’s turn to look perturbed.
“In the end, they gave in and had the exorcism. Good thing they did too, apparently the medium had foreseen that my friend only had three days left to live..”
“Did they... ahem.. ever find out what it was that was haunting them?” Saffron asked gruffly, trying to hide the shakiness in his voice by coughing.
Jolie turned her sightless eyes on him then, a wicked grin spreading over her features as she leaned in to finish her tale.
“No,” She didn't budge an inch, “But the king and queen had it released into a haunted forest right behind their castle.. a forest just... like... this.. one..”
“BOO!”
Saffron screeched as two glowing red orbs lit up inside her eye sockets, and toppled backwards into Syrah taking the both of them down in panic. Frederick clung to Whitney in fear, temporarily displacing Monika from his shoulder, the latter squawking and spluttering as she launched herself onto Renée’s head and hid in her soft blonde hair.
Jolie giggled amidst all the hysteria and knocked on her temples with the flat of her palm a few times until the small, unmistakable form of a mouse popped out into her palm, blinked in surprise, then took one look at Whitney and scurried away for its life.
“Everyone’s a critic.” She shrugged noncommittally. He almost snorted.
“Get. Off.” Syrah huffed, extricating herself from Saffron as she tried to maintain a semblance of dignity but it proved to be a struggle since he’d already passed out cold from all the excitement. Frederick sheepishly dusted off his friend’s shoulder and scooted away, embarrassed.
The sun had begun to inch towards the horizon, smearing the sky in yolky oranges and browns, studded with milky white stars.
“Alright,” Syrah began once everyone’s heart rates had returned to normal, “Where were we?”
“Maybe we should call it a day, Syrah,” Monika quipped, peeking out from under Renée’s hair.
“Nonsense,” She frowned, gesturing for Curtis to pass her a butter-knife, “We haven’t heard Whitney’s story yet!”
Whitney blanched as all eyes now turned to him curiously. Even Curtis, who’d been appearing and disappearing from this conversation at whim paused to flick the cutlery right at Whitney’s face.
“I’m sure you must’ve received tons!” Syrah said, snatching it out out of the air, a hair’s width away from his eyeball.
“I don’t-“ Whitney gulped, pretending to remain unaffected by the attempted assassination that no one else had noticed.
“Don’t be shy,” Renée held up her sketchpad comfortingly.
“Yeahmmff, we’re all ears, cat-man,” Abbi mumbled sarcastically, mouth filled with macarons. It seemed that she wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about Whitney’s status as a club member, though she commended his effort to help out.
He looked around helplessly but even Frederick had perked up now, intrigued by the idea of discovering more about his strange friend and his foreign mannerisms.
“Portraiture was difficult for my family as well,” Whitney caved in and began when he realised there was no getting out of this one, “-but our reasons were not supernatural, at least, not as far as was told.”
“The Monochrome Kingdom has a very particular relationship with colour; it was both a treasure and a taboo. Nothing in the kingdom naturally produces colour on its own, from the grass to the cloud cover, everything came in shades of either grey, white or black - so any products that did require other hues had to be imported. Raw dyes and paints were especially reserved for the nobility and only brought out during the most important occasions, and even then what was left was quite muted and dull.”
A blanket of silence descended over the CPC as they watched the former prince recall his home with a mixture of guilt and pity.
“I myself hadn’t seen a single bright colour till I turned 17,” Whitney continued in his usual flat manner, but Frederick thought he could hear something like wistfulness in his friend’s tone.
“And much like everything else - it came from outside the kingdom.”
“But the Monochrome Kingdom is very well-renowned,” Thermidora mused, claw on chin, “Even under the sea, it was quite the popular subject of debate– surely you must have gotten far more alliance-based proposals.”
“One would assume as much,” Whitney agreed, “-but if there’s anything the King and Queen loved more than their wealth, it was their privacy. Before Blacquelyn was born, they didn’t even bother attending galas or parties.”
“I’m embarrassed to admit, I was ignorant to the outside world for much of my youth. Perhaps that was why I was so hasty to get married.”
“Oh right! I was wondering that too!” Monika chirped, fluttering back to his shoulder, “You got engaged to Prez awfully quick!”
“R-right.”
Frederick raised an eyebrow as Whitney’s demeanour shifted minutely; if he didn’t know better, his friend almost seemed.. flustered?
“As I was saying,” Whitney cleared his throat, “My parents valued their privacy and our obedience, so any portraits that were sent in were burned before either Greyden or I laid eyes on them.”
“It was the eve of my seventeenth birthday when everything changed.”
“Well don’t keep us on edge! Get on with it!” Abbi huffed; despite herself, she was starting to enjoy the story.
“Very well,” He acquiesced, “We had just finished one of our violent gladiator-style fights to win Father’s approval that week when a courtier came in to announce an invitation to a ball–“
“Woah woah woah– a WHAT?!” Syrah gasped.
He trailed away in bemusement as the CPC exchanged horrified looks between themselves.
“Wait, like actual fights, with real weapons?” Monika ruffled her feathers in alarm.
“Yes? But it was strictly torso and below the belt,” He added quickly, as though that made it any less appalling, “I nicked Greyden’s face once and my Father had me thrown in the Tiger Pit for three days.”
“Three.. days..”  Saffron, rising from his fainting spell, looked at Whitney as though he’d just confessed to murder.
“You must have a lot of scars!” Jolie gasped; he nodded.
“Are you.. okay?” Renée volunteered, making way for Saffron to return to the circle, and Whitney shrugged.
“It was a long time ago,” He said, “And I learned to make peace with my experiences, different though they may be.”
“We’re always here if you wanna talk, ‘bout it, bud’,” Saffron sighed, passing him a pillow, which Whitney took bewildered.
“I- uh- Thank you, Saffron.”
“The courtier came in..” Frederick prompted finally, as a mixed silence descended on the group.
“Right- my parents had been invited to a ball being held the next day,” Whitney began again, stumbling over the newfound support he was unused to receiving, “It was a debutante ball.”
“A princess from a neighbouring kingdom had reached a marriageable age and they were holding a party to introduce her into society. Since it was such short notice, my father declined, but it was too late. I had already caught sight of him by then, and hunted the courtier down after supper.”
“I’m ashamed to say my methods weren’t the friendliest,” He admitted, knuckles tightening as he recalled an undoubtably violent memory, “-but after a lot of.. persuading.. I managed to convince him to tell me the whereabouts of the portrait that came with the invitation.”
“The stars must have aligned for me that day, because they hadn’t defaced it yet. The courtier led me straight it, and that’s when I saw her.”
The CPC was once again at the edge of their seat, now because Whitney’s tone had taken on a kind of softness, his claw-like nails relaxing for the first time since he sat in the circle.
“She had hair the colour of a sky I wasn’t born under, and eyes like a sun I’d never seen. It was the first time I’d ever seen someone so.. full of life. At that moment, I knew I had to have her.”
Whitney winced as he realised what he’d said.
“In hindsight, I realise that those were the whims of a spoiled, selfish prince who had never understood how to correctly treat another human being, but at the time, all I could think of was that if I met her, somehow my life would get better, even marginally.”
Frederick listened to all this, wide-eyed; why did Whitney’s story sound so familiar? Could it be that both of them shared a need for escape from their respective toxic family dramas– perhaps the former prince was a lot more like him than he’d assumed.
“So, what happened?” Syrah demanded, restless for the reveal, “Who was the princess?”
“I took the portrait to my father and insisted on getting married,” Whitney replied.
“AND?” Renée held up the pad of paper.
“He said no and had it burned.” He finished, “So I never found out who the princess was.”
The CPC groaned collectively, completely unsatisfied with the ending of the story but Frederick knew better than to give up hope. He’d noticed that his friend’s shoulders were tense– a tell.
Whitney was lying.. but why?
“Well,” Frederick rose, dusting off his trousers, “This has been really fun but I’ve got to get back before my Father notices I’m missing. Coming Whit?”
Whitney looked up puzzled, but then noticed Frederick subtle attempt at winking and hurried to his feet as well.
“Oh- yes- I’ll make sure you get home safely.”
Syrah narrowed her eyes at the two newest members of the club and crossed her arms, but before she could point out how suspicious they were being, Curtis appeared once more, now looking a little more mellow than before.
“If you’ll excuse me princess, it’s well after twilight and I need these dishes to entertain the rest of the club members tomorrow. I trust you’re finished with your therapy group?”
“Oh, Curtis–”
Whitney didn’t end up hearing the rest of her sentence, since Frederick hastily bowed a goodbye and yanked him out of the glade, much to the disappointment of the other princesses, who were only starting to get used to the strange striped, tiger-man.
Once they were far enough that he was sure they couldn’t be overheard, Frederick turned to his friend and gave him an awkward, one-armed hug.
“What–“ Whitney seemed to freeze at the touch until Frederick pulled back (it was like hugging a rock anyway), and shook his head knowingly.
“I don’t know why you lied about the portrait,” Frederick began, watching as Whitney’s claws involuntarily curled into fists, “-but you don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to.”
“I just want you to know, I consider you one of my closest friends.”
“Thank you,” Whitney’s shoulders slumped, and Frederick nodded, turning back to the path at hand.
After a few moments of reflective silence, only punctuated by the occasional cicada chirping, the former prince released a long, drawn out breath.
“I lied so they wouldn’t discover the truth,” Whitney said finally, “I didn’t want Calpernia to pity me– she was the princess in the story.”
Frederick had guessed as much. He offered him an encouraging look, prompting him to continue.
“My father burned the portrait, yes, but only after I had found out who the princess was. The courtier informed me that it was a neighbouring princess, from the polygon kingdom. So I hid it in my room and approached my father with a marriage proposal the very next day.”
“He laughed in my face first,” Whitney said ruefully, “But I kept asking, the next day and the next and the next, until he couldn’t take it anymore. He had the guards search my room and found Calpernia’s portrait and burned it right in front of me.”
“That’s awful,” Frederick couldn’t help himself. He was usually good at keeping his emotions well hidden but the monochrome prince’s tales always had a way of eliciting a reaction from him.
“I still refused to give up,” Whitney nodded, “My obsession with marriage, and Calpernia, heightened tenfold. I became convinced that she was the only way out of the hell that had become my home.”
“I studied and fought relentlessly, and met every morsel of praise my father offered me with ‘let me marry her.’ This displeased him to no end. He had me take ten lashes for each time I mentioned her name. Still, I kept at it. Eventually my mother caved and began accepting portraits from influential families both within and outside the kingdom in an attempt to placate the monster I was becoming.”
“But even then I didn’t budge,” He shook his head, “My fixation with Calpernia’s burnt picture had grown so intense that the rest of the women looked paltry and lacklustre in comparison. It would be three years of constant quarrelling with my parents before an artist was brought in to paint my portrait, for the sake of a proposal.”
“They gave in?” Frederick asked, surprised.
“Not exactly,” Whitney frowned, “My parents didn’t care what I wanted, they’d sooner have me wed to a daughter of monochrome nobility, so they could still have control over their oldest son.”
“But every time they invited one over, I’d find a way to miss the event. Pleasing them no longer mattered, nothing mattered, except getting what I’d been denied for so long. I’d lock myself in and when my father had the doors removed, sneak myself out. I’d send Greyden in my place, cause a scene, sabotage the food, even hide out in the Tiger Pit to avoid these events.”
“I got punished, of course, but it all seemed worth it when my parents finally, finally yielded, realising they couldn’t stamp the insubordination out of me no matter how hard they tried. So they sent my portrait to the Polygon Kingdom, along with a proposal to marry their oldest daughter.”
“Nearly four years later, on my twenty-first birthday,” He stopped suddenly, forcing Frederick to turn around, “-I saw her again.”
“No longer a portrait in my mind, but a person of flesh and blood; Calpernia was beau- um.. she exceeded my expectations.”
Whitney was now completely flustered, and Frederick realised he’d never seen his friend blush before, even the edges of his tiger stripes seemed to glow with a reddish hue.
“I was drunk with power, dizzy with winning for the first time in my life,” Whitney said sheepishly, almost like he’d forgotten anyone else was there, “-that when Calpernia confessed to me that she might be in love with a male nurse.. I reacted rather poorly.”
“The rest is history.”
“Why didn’t you tell her any of this when you apologised?” Frederick asked, leaning against a nearby tree.
“Because it wouldn’t have made a difference,” He replied matter-of-factly, “None of it could erase all the hurt and suffering I’d caused Calpernia.”
“But don’t you think it’s unfair–“
“It was unfair to make her the object of my salvation, when she isn’t an object at all,” Whitney interrupted without malice, “She wasn't and will never be responsible for my unwarranted affection. It isn’t her obligation to care about me.”
“I- I see,” Frederick’s mind was so abuzz he wondered if he imagined his hair twitching with all the thoughts inside it.
“If I was worth forgiving-“ Whitney continued, “-it should be based purely on my actions alone. Not on any excuses regarding my upbringing.”
“Do you still love her?” Frederick blurted out, expecting his friend to revert to mortification but the former prince’s face remained indifferent, perhaps even a little sad.
“I don’t think what I felt was love as much as it was desperation,” Whitney admitted.
“I don’t think I could ever love Calpernia as much as she– oh. Spider.”
Frederick jolted back as Whitney reached over and easily plucked a small, black arachnid from what was indisputably his blonde hair, and tried to stay calm as his friend released it back onto the tree.
He immediately put several steps between him and the bark of the old oak, watching it crawl onto the lowest branch before disappearing into its leafy folds– Frederick could’ve sworn the little insect winked at him as it vanished.
“D-Do you think it was there the whole time,” Frederick stuttered, forgetting their conversation as he now imagined the spider crawling around in his hair for hours without him knowing.
Whitney did snort then, and clapped the young prince’s shoulder reassuringly.
“Let’s get you back home.” He said, with a small smile.
As the two of them made their way back to the plaid kingdom, deep in the Haunted Forest, miles away, a tiny spider crawled onto the palm of a certain blue-haired, gold-eyed club president returning from her journey, to tell her something she would certainly be very interested in knowing.

I don’t think im ever going to finish this but i still really wanted to show her off so i’ve decided to just post what i have.
Here is my other cpc oc, Angie!🕊️ The twin of my oc, Sunny.
Tumblr media
To those that said Sunny looked like the hypothetical child of Gwen and Frederick, you would be right! The timing was just really inconvenient-
She was supposed to have angel wings embroidered on the back of her sweater, can you guess where their names came from?

Hello Isaac! I have a question from you wehn doing rereading.. It's about Blaine again haha
Tumblr media
^ my question isn't why Blaine thinking that Gwen is the ugliest daughter because it's quite clear (he thinks beauty is only seen from the public standard, like himself as embodiment of perfect plaid prince).. My question is the first sentence from him.. "When likely the plan is made with the plaid princes excluding Frederick makes 'formation' that means to swoons the pastel princesses for the marriage"?
We're lacking history of plaid princes, and understable because CPC narrative is mostly from Gwen, then Frederick, then Prez as the big 3 main characters. And things related to Plaid mostly come from Frederick, but sadly he's kind of "blindfolded narrator" as in the dark of many things (but I believe all of his narratives are genuine, so scratch the possibility of him being unreliable narrator).
In nutshell because abusive plaid royal family that make him inferior, the very first memory that he remembers is being alone with only books that accompany him while his brothers racking up accolades (result hints that they're doing exactly as Leland plans, becomes the perfect plaid princes). He feels alone and wants to have friends which as when he can go to public school, he introduces himself as a book lover but bullied as considered a nerd - and he hates himself more while doing sink way until he graduated (iirc at 17 y.o) but on those years he clinging for someone to saves him idealism - that manifested into unhealthy obsession to get a trophy wife which Leland hints as engagement plan with the Pastels. Personally until this point, and with we see how CPC current story progress - Frederick truly in blind (not knowing the plan) as what plaid royals tell. Because in the scenario if Frederick knows the truth about his father's plan but somehow concides to should marry Gwen no matter what.. His reaction at the first day meeting the Pastels should be like: "OMG, the one that I should marry looks so creepy.. But my father will kill me if I am being honest about her appearance, I should fake my way out to not make her realizes that I think her as the creepy girl.." And the whole episode 10 well Frederick screams in frustation to Blaine, that he thinks Gwen is very ugly will never happen. Gwen likely won't ever meets the CPC, and this resulting to their love relationship not the genuine one in nutshell. Because, Frederick in that "scenario" won't fall in love with Gwen because his desire to learn more about her like canon (which leads first by Jamie nudging, that hinted because Jamie knows that Frederick in canon initially didn't like Gwen as being judgemental over appearance) and likely won't be as genuine as canon. They're could be fall in love at the end (albeit genuine love is uncertain, maybe like lorena/lance and maria/blaine similarity), but they're likely never meets the CPC to realizes how fucked up their own family is (pastel oversheltered, plaids overexposed). At the end of that scenario, they are all marrying each other but in unknown what's actually their marriage means = to take over the pastel princesses, the ones that Jack holds dearest... And repetition of abusive family could happen, in the form where the fake act mask of Frederick in that scenario slowly slips.. Because he feels inferior and maybe in their unhappily marriage time will cleverly make distance to Gwen - and poor Gwen as that scenario is in total confusion of why her husband avoiding her (because in that way, he likely won't genuinely loves Gwen - blames his father to making him marry someone that he didn't like and even as they're sharing interest, he didn't open up to his own wife as he keep hiding his secrets that he deemed making him unmanly-inferior like his trauma getting bullied)
...that's the result of "nice" way for gwenderick, if Frederick knows the plan. I know I am rambling a lot to take to this point, but I feel the keyword of Leland's nice way (at ep 142) is faking affection to princesses. Maria/Blaine could work out from not genuine love because Beckett. Lorena/Lance worked out from being shallow because Suzie. But gwenderick is special case because they need multiple characters to help each other loves more about themself and each other - and I think it can't be happened if the honest yet indeed hurtful scene of ep 10 happened (the most important part in the CPC and the reason why Frederick is mercilessly hated, I know). And at the end of the story - I feel gwenderick love is true, genuine, and desperate yearning to each other in the way for Frederick will do anything to saves Gwen and Gwen puts a very high opinion (even as implied to be the only one around S3) from Frederick about herself. Something that their brothers and sisters didn't do as much = as even thou they're indeed love each other, but their love genuinenity similarly with gwenderick is questionable. Maria/Blaine basically in distrust to each other as Maria hates Blaine for the hint of his love not genuine to her (if truly genuine, Blaine won't mocking Gwen as Maria dearest sister) and Blaine mad to Maria as he puts her on pedestal as symbol of someone that could catch him despite anything but now likely won't do it espc as he see how Maria alrdy 'jumps in' to Beckett. Lorena/Lance is simpler, because the one problem isn't trust but cowardice of Lance that Lorena didn't understand the reason.
Blaine and Lance age now the same, 20 years old which make 3 years difference between Frederick. If the academy in the CPC making the princes all are graduating at 17 years old truly - this make 3 years gap (so 3 years before current timeline) for Plan concoction. A quite rationable time for Leland spreading his venom to Blaine and Lance, promising freedom (Blaine's) or notion about love (Lance's likely) - to his sons that never know what family love is as living without Isolde's influence. The sons that engaged with standard of public's beauty (Maria and Lorena) so for appearance-wise they're instantly clicked. This not the same scenario for gwenderick, Frederick is so scared espc because haunted by Lilyth's soul in his palace's portraits and his inferiority complex flared more because he thinks that he got the short stick instead the conventional beauty Jamie that he thoughts as the third princess. Maybe because Leland thinks that Frederick as his son that looks the most like him, will also understand that Gwen (and in extension, Lilyth's) is beautiful even not on oublic standard - but Frederick initially didn't.. Because uhhh he just a minor of 17 years old, too lonely without any friends until meets Gwen and CPC and akin to Pastels not really see the world. The streotype of a teenager (not a kid, but not yet an adult yet - fits Frederick whose 17 yo) is their perspective is dangerously narrow because they're inexperienced - only their family and friends that can expand one's perspective.. But at that time Frederick really have no one, so I hope Frederick haters could understand.. His mistake is the same thing that could happened to anyone espc teenagers - quick to jump to conclusions judgement espc about looks
/this long rambing kinda make me answering my own question huh? Ahahahaha.. I truky wish to hear another's opinion espc ya Isaac-one of the people that I know could give fair opinions
Yup, all I can do is agree with you, because everything you've said is spot-on. Credit for this next idea I'm about to convey has to go to someone in the series' comments section(I don't know their name), and it is one that I think is especially true: Frederick's escapism into books, and the fact that he reads those belonging to the 'Fantasy' genre in particular, is what shaped his perspective on how to view beauty, and his idea of what 'Beautiful' is.

It its not too much, can I request adult Gwen getting a call from her teenage son's school that he got into a fight again, and sent one of the students to the infirmary.
And when she asks him what's been going with him, her son reveals that he's been getting bullied a lot because of his appearance and didn't tell Gwen because he didn't want to burden her.
Gwen has never advocated for violence, so she doesn’t know what’s going on with her son. He’s always been so polite and courteous to others - until high school.
She’s tried everything from talking it out to groundings, but he won’t open up to her. So, as mothers are wont to do, she catastrophizes. Has he joined some kind of delinquent gang? Is he acting out some violent book he’s read?
Assuming this is a Gwenderick kid, his dad has some idea of what’s going on. Frederick recognizes the way his son watches peers out of the corner of his eye, holds his possessions close, tenses up when he hears footsteps.
One thing that father and son have in common is a soft spot for Gwen, so once she cracks things quickly come to a head.
Once Gwen’s had a chance to calm down, her son sits down with her and tells the whole story. He’s mumbling and staring at the ground, but he eventually forces it out.
As soon as she realizes where this is going, Gwen is nearly inconsolable. She never wanted her son to struggle with his appearance like she did. It was her worst fear as a parent.
Gwen nearly backslides into her old state of mind, picturing all her teenage trauma inflicted on her son. She pulls herself together for his sake, but damn if it isn’t difficult.
What happens from here is in a large part up to the son. If he wants to hire private teachers and learn at the castle, that’s an option. If he wants to transfer schools and get a new start, he can. If he wants to stay at this school, his parents will demand the staff crack down on the bullying, but it’ll happen. Either way, he’ll be going into therapy to help nip these problems in the bud.
I’ve said before that Gwen doesn’t want her child to suffer like she has, so I think she would be very proactive when it comes to preventative measures. His therapist will teach him coping skills and self-love habits for when he needs them.

Personal Review GwenDerick/FredDolyn Time-Travelling AU - Canon Divergences
I like to compiling everything to help me going forward...
Basically I make CPC fanfic about time-travelling AU (to the past) and thus making it Canon Divergences AU (means it will changes over plot points in the canon source) - my two favorite troupe AUs as it could explore so many possibilities of "what-ifs" in the original source material of the story...
There's an ongoing project by myself that I am not sure when it'll end but I know how the details it goes.. Thanksfully for the addition of my cowriters @ Queen_Allu (same name as in AO3) and @ Jazzyluvs008 (sunflower8) at the middle early part of the journey to not making me feeltoo lonely. The project is hopefully not that (too) ambitious for myself that could strains my own heart and body (espc the eyes) and my own mental and minds (there's some chapters that even on introduction arc already made my heart's bleeding and head's dizzy) - as I am on 1/7 path of the journey there based on ch
Tumblr media
GwenDerick/FredDolyn is make me built such a special place in my heart as hardcore shipper, I really adores their journey of relationship from a complete stranger (which the male scared shirtless over the female with such unorthodox look) to such a trustworthy friend (with the help of the CPC and how the story progress, the male opens up to the female) to likely now as to be a lover (there's definetely romantic note between them, as basically they are already say love to each other - even with such 'tragic' situation as the current story)
So, Troupe "Stranger to Friend to Lover" AU canonically? Hell yeah it is! I feel this another reason why GwenDerick is so special in my book of shipper - because it's so natural and could happen to anyone, so relatable in real life. Gwendolyn is not perfect (I am not talking about her look that basically the main plot turner in the story, I am talking about her lack of skill in communication that make the whole CPC story to be happen) and so does Frederick isn't Prince Charming (I won't talk further about it, as I know there's so many people that still hates him and could utters so many hate speech over him - feel free to do so, it won't change my love over him as I think that Frederick is the best boy in the CPC that has the best character development ever possible).
There's actually several others AU troupes that happened to GwenXFrederick canonically, but I won't talk about those as I like to focus on promoting my own fanfic which featuring them as the main couple while using my top two AU troupes as the gears for the series to moving them to go...
I really wish for more people to read it, I really do.. And could give me feedback over it. That fic is basically the retelling of 'retelling' which is the CPC | Cursed Princess Club [webtoon]
[Hahahah, such an UNO reverse card ain't it? :3 ] WIKI :
The creator, LambCat, describes Cursed Princess Club as a chance given to her to take all the things they loved from fairy tales and stories of their childhood and combine them with all the messages they wished they got to hear back then. -> Here the list of ALL tales and stories that I could recognize in the overall of CPC until now which one thing that I notice? Every stories come from Western with slight non-direct nods of Eastern references. I like to be proud about my own origin as citizen from Eastern country so I'm putting them inside the fanfic story as well.
While thinking of fairy tales and brainstorming, LambCat's thoughts included "What if the spells didn't break and there wasn't a happily ever after? What would that scenario be like?", that got cross-pollinated with with the idea of insecurity and shame in general. -> the spells didn't break means the 'permanent' cursed condition, which all the CPC members are inflicted with it and overall I say - I am truly adore how each of them accepting their condition as being cursed in healhtly way BUT as the CPC story hinting of things that possibly could lifting them from their curse that not come from typical cure it all "True Love's Kiss" such as: Abbi's 24 hours curse reversal potion, the Cure-Curing Crystal (+ the period pauser for Prez' condition by Whitney) and informations from the Omniscient Clam... That make me thinking as generally all the CPC members already accepting their cursed condition (the first important step of grieving one's trauma), WHY not making the chance for them to could get cured from their curse WHAT IF the journey to lifting the curse is so painful BUT really worth it? I really want to explore it, that's why I am making Frederick cursed 'literally' as the driving point of the fanfic story that I am making... He need to deal with his curse, along with resolving the initial metaphorical curse that already in there as Plaid Prince Royalty...
In the beginning, the story was a simpler one about looks not being everything. It has expanded to being about the idea that society has a lot of things they want from us. Cursed Princess Club was about how many of us have two parts of ourselves. One that we want to present to others based on what they want, and one that's just us. What if there were a clash between them? What emotions would come from that? -> there's so many examples about it in various characters, such as : Blaine (his true self that he shown in bare to Maria after the piano duel VS the mask that he keep shows in the public as 'the perfect Plaid Prince Charming'), Frederick (his distant "icy"-shallow-judgmental 'Plaid Prince' persona VS his true self that really just wants to read books as doing nerdy stuffs etc by having true friends that could understand him), Gwendolyn (her 'polite' selfless sweety princess VS her selfish persona that just wants to skip forward to her imagination of 'happily-ever-after' with Frederick which wants to skip the hurtful feeling over confrontation about her shattered perspective) ...and the CPC as entirety, why the logo (insignia) is a rose depict half pink and half black/brown? Because even thou never confirmed it yet the meaning of it, I say it's related about accepting the previous non cursed form-persona (pink) and current cursed form-persona (black/brown).
So my fanfic, Returning Back to Make Amends wants (and really hopes) to could explore the things that the CPC tells but WON'T shy over the mature themes that hinted in the story as it's being put down on some notches, and to doing so I like to use Frederick as the main character of that fiction RaS (Reversus ad Satisfaciendum) by establishing unique personalities that depicted about him - and as I relate to him the most, I feel I could do it imagining the fanfiction story that make him swapped role with Gwen which now he's the Protagonist of the story while Gwen is the deuteragonist
It could really work and without making other characters to changes dramatically (as to not making an OOC/ Out of the character), Prez still the tritagonist of the story and the CPC as the best support system over the 'cursed' royalties. Aside from Frederick being the character that most relatable to me, I love to explore the possible interactions of him (but with more knowledges already, as he already get and learn stuffs until the episode 145 plot points) with everyone. What will he do to his own family? What will he do when meeting the CPC as the much needed support system for him...with so many things to consider first? What will he do when interacting with Gwen as he could get chance to return to the past, to make amends.. but his greatest mistake already done?
I've read so many stories be it from various webtoons, fairy tales, novels, games, fanfictions... My greatest inspiration, and the motivation that making sure that I could reach to that end is a SniLy time travelling fic (A Peace Not Promised)
But let's end the general description of the fanfic, as we jump onto the story itself. Let's begin from the prequel of the story
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Prequel of the Story (MEPHISTO) https://www.tumblr.com/cornus27florida/733053034090921984/cpc-fandom-need-more-love?source=share
From that fic's comment, I am really glad to could make in character's depiction especially to the Plaid Royal Family
As a prequel, one could read it before reading my fic series 'RaS' for better enjoyment but not necessarily need to read it either. In nutshell, the prequel fic really help me to establish the possible scenario that happened to the Plaid Royalties - as overall the punishment scenes gives too much shock to everyone that make the digestion of what really happened is difficult to happen. Also the title inspired by the [Oshi no Ko] ED song - is to giving the hint of time travelling scenario
Mephisto = power to manipulate events throughout time
Does that means the whole cause of the time travelling AU is related to a demon? Eh, huge spoiler for my fanfic - a highly classified content that I won't deny or confirm 'till the end
Now let's go to the RaS! We're start with the summary description!!! (most finds it's so scary, WHY ;-;)
"What-If" at the episode 145 where Frederick canonically supposed to break free from the prison - unfortunately passed away instead?
-> PNP starts with the main character, Severus Snape, passed away as like canon Harry Potter where he bitten by the snake (Nagini, Voldie's Pet).. There's so many time travel AU stories that making the main character(s) to die first too
Follow the difficult, cursed journey of Frederick that becomes the protagonist of his story as given another chance to make amends by the angel of the fortune Gwen by returning to the past - few months ago before his death day as imprisoned by Leland alone in the hole Given knowledge from the memories of what might happen but inability to tell them to the ordinary, non-cursed people as blazing rusted chains of 'non-divulgence' will accompany Frederick to prevents him to telling the truths; about him that come from the future, about his kingdom's vile plan to the Pastel Princesses, about the details of the events that'll lead to the doomed future...
-> I am not a good writer by any means, this project RaS is literally the first time I am making a huge multi chapters series which make me so anxious... But I know I am not the only one that making fanfiction with that 'skeleton' like that, 2 huge fandoms (Harry Potter and NARUTO) in the fanfictions has many examples of that, but I admit that in the CPC fandom my project gonna be the very first to exist. It's gonna be the very last? Hmm I don't know honestly, I've seen some CPC fanfic with time travel element with potentials...
In the 'magical' world of the CPC series, "time travelling" is something unheard off and considered to completely fictional even for the club that consisting of cursed members. It's out of the world, and all those Fairy Tales books have no match for this particular "curse". Could Frederick makes differences for a happy ending, or he'll die again trying?
-> Time travel. Wao. Such a huge interesting plot driver that so strong and powerful, but could become very messy if not handled right espc if disregarding the canon original stories and rationale thinkings of the story (even if the origin material is a fantasy genre). There's a special character trope identity for time traveller that making FIX-IT the story (another troupe of mine that I really like, usually part of the subplot of "Canon Divergence) which is "Peggy Sue". Frederick is Peggy Sue, but I try my possible best to not making him as Gary Sue with the canon Frederick's skill - Administrative Support = he knows that he can't do everything alone, he needs the help from others that as the story progress we see the friends that he finds along the way as becomes "The Alliances" that'll progress along the way BUT before he could do anything, reaching his goal to saves Gwen - he desperately need to help himself first as in canon analogy, he need to climbing the hole first before even thinking to saves anyone yet...
Most people are scared over the honest summary that I did huhuu T^T But, that's simply the truth? I really hate fanfic that not being honest about the summary of their story, so to not making myself as a hypocrite.. I tell things like that as to not scaring anyone but well... Example: [I am really sorry, didn't mean to scare anyone!] my jaw droped after reading just the description
I am cut to the WARNINGS then for well deserved wariness
This fic decided to be rated M (mature) for reasons as following: (domestic) abuse in form of what Leland could do to his own family, character death (Frederick's reason to reviving the past - is death), (graphic depiction of) violences including cursed attacks (acid damage, were-spider transformation), drugs overdose, also mention (as including ideation) and depiction of suicide.
Most CPC fanfic are on teenager category, and honestly I am in dilemma if RaS should in M or T because PNP as main reference is T rated - even with the character death, subtle hints of mental issue including suicide by jumping from the astronomy tower etc.. I even changed for T at some moment, but then I decide to change back to M so I could be more free to put much needed warning plot points, it's not just death to establish the time travelling condition.. it's for taking complete dark turn over the dark truths that hinted all along in the CPC, like for example eating poisoned apple = suicide
Ch 1 My Deepest Regret
The shortest chapter indeed but I am not sure if anyone aware of my deliberately quote from Jamie. Jamie is the first character in the CPC that truly ships gwenderick after all
Jamie of the CPC ofc not the one that giving quote, but his IRL paralel did. It's such a heartwarming enpowering quote
“Don’t give up. Don’t give up on your story. Don’t give up on the people you love. Hope is real. Love is real. It’s all worth fighting for.
”
— Jamie Tworkowski
Ch 2 The Angel of the Fortune at the Afterlife
I know there's so many religions and beliefs, but personally I believe that the afterlife (world) is exist and there's angel(s)
Tumblr media
Ch 3 Returning back to make amends
One of the most important moment in the story is when title drop happen, right! So does this fic, with one sentence that I like to pointing out regarding the whole story as following:
Also your death too, why did you forget? Probably with you returning to the past, there's gonna be canon divergences that even make people not as what you know in the past.. Who knows? -> there's so many examples of time-fix fic, but for much needed plot points that involve huge spoilers - some characters aren't like what they're depicted in the canon (espc as reviving the past, the 'introduction' meetings bound to be different) but doesn't make them OOC dw
Ch 4 Breakfast Affair at the Plaid Palace
I am really sorry for the ping but I want to credit you again for helping me making divergence of Frederick's confrontation at the Breakfast of Episode 16 @alexandersimpleton!
Ch 4 is the first huge dread of me to officially making canon divergence but overall I feel I am doing pretty job over it!
Tumblr media
Ch 5 How does it feel to be cursed?
Ch 5 basically make full interpretation that Frederick read ALL of Fairy Tales possible including the ones that come from Eastern - whole new side of the world that not really ever mentioned in the CPC that making major kingdoms as whole in continent, while we know the existence of the Braided Island that unknow exactly = other side's world
So far he's handling the curse pretty well in my book- Since he's reading the tales that he knows to know if his curse is in one of them
That's HC scenario that I really love to happen if Frederick is literally cursed, what he'll do for the first time? Read books
Tumblr media
Ch 6 Long Road Journey
hmm not so much to say as honestly that chapter is 'ugh, I need to write that no matter what for sake of the future' BUT the scene where Lance dragging Frederick out is like this;
Tumblr media
Ch 7 SHATTERED
Ch 8 Midnight Snacks
The perks of Canon Divergences Time Travelling AU is we could explore characters early, even for the characters that in canon not yet introduced (example in that ch, Renée) if see the canon timeline - and in the fanfic you could fleshing out their character as well, Renee being an artist that keen on details IMHO not that far fetched because we've seen how she could draws a frog with stitched mouth well for Aurelia
Ch 9 Blondies’ Wariness
My inspiration of that chapter is from CPC meme of this:
https://www.tumblr.com/the-neighbors-kid/707946794118692864/a-jokey-cpc-blonde-people-alignment-chart-i-have?source=share i
@the-neighbors-kidsorry for ping but really appreciate the meme as it's even give me reference for the story!!
Tumblr media
Ch 10 Fairy Tale Ingredients
Based on my own CPC theory analysis as following : https://www.tumblr.com/cornus27florida/712232201376432128/curses-and-cures-magics-and-science?source=share
Ch 11 My Curse and Tales that Related to It
https://www.tumblr.com/cornus27florida/734969016718901248/chapter-11-review-ras-the-cpc-fanfic?source=share
Ch 12 Green Eyed Ezzy
Credit again for Isaac @the-giggling-guava that helps me a lot to fleshing out the Princels as the whole, I really love how it's done but I am surprised myself over that ch is 8k hahaha
Basically that ch is the one that hurting me so far in term of heart, mental and overall self - and I am channeling my own hurts to make that much needed Princels intro as reality
Chokehold inspirations for making that chapter :
IHF's (@cpcposting) fanart of Frederick with black hair dye
IHF's fanfic that making Isolde has a brother, and a band - but instead 'uncle' for Plaid Princes has blue hair and grey eyes, I want to make him a symbol of 'union of Plaid Princes but GOOD (as the evil is OFC Leland)' by making him has great talent over music (Blaine), grey hair (Lance) and green eyes (Frederick, still mystery where he got 'em)
https://www.instagram.com/p/CZ8K6udN3VI/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
"Please, don't ever like me.. If you like me, there's only heartbreak in the future as the true nature of my curse is unknown - never mind how to break it. You should hate me instead, I am the sole reason your perspective is shattered. I am indeed the monster. You shouldn't in near proximity to a dangerous monster, it will rips you apart as already done with your self-worth..." - Frederick, chapter 11th
Personal shout outs to @meritre24601that reinforcing me that speech very in character of Frederick.. and I remember @saemi-the-dreamertheory about the symbolisms !!
https://vxtwitter.com/risdelusions/status/1729762922547540196?s=20 + https://fxtwitter.com/marinaapbch/status/1730323802175779016 Fred's mind : And all alone again - it will fine, as long as the loved ones (Gwen) will be safe, she has CPC now
Tumblr media
+ I love Checkov's guns, which the books that the Princels gifting to their guests... might become important later on ;)
Overall I am making up all the titles, EXCEPT Syrah's one
Tumblr media
I will do reblogs from this point forward for the incoming chapters, is also to help me get better in organizing ^^
C'mon me from the future self, YOU CAN DO IT I BELIEVE IT

Does history of ships is repeating itself?
Those are assortement of the moments between Jack and Leelathae / Gwendolyn and Frederick. The generational ship moments repeating itself there
Also if I could make some narration there:
Appearance wise, Gwendolyn indeed looks like Leelathea and Frederick himself kinda sparkly and yeah a hunk like Jack (both men have hypnotizing very gorgeous eyes, one is as sparkly as vast ocean while the other one is as magical as green woods is)
Tumblr media
but antics-wise, Frederick easily freaked out like what Leelathea did when she meets Jack, while Gwendolyn shares her papa antic in some scenes (especially the heartbreaking scene where they thought their loved ones not liking them-> Lilyth by exclaimed that she didn't wanna marry Jack, Gwen by the pain of not believeing Frederick's feeling is genuine one at the end of the gala)
Relationship resolution-wise, both Jack and Frederick asking their loved ones what the problem that makes Lilyth and Gwendolyn sad - both do it twice, but answered not clearly;
Jack asking Lilyth what's wrong when he told that he prepared an engagement party, then asking her later before he gone to expidition - Lilyth never telling to Jack that she cornered by Helena and Jesse, then taunted to will have ugly children if continuing to be with Jack
Frederick collected his heart to asks Gwen if he did something that makes Gwen sad when they first meet (at the crystal room of Jamie's art exhibition), but Gwen freaked out as she realized her confrontation got missed message and lie to Frederick instead=never tell that she heard him calling her ugly at Jamie's wake. The second time at the haunted house in the gala, Frederick offering Gwen to tell anything that might bothering Gwen - but as Gwen thinking her psychomatic stomach 'gone' and Bozart/Schozart announcing that the raffle gonna starts, she missed the chance to tell the truth -> and we get the heartbreaking scene at the gala of revealation instead T^T

How much did Prince Jaimie know about Gwen’s secrets?
Hmmm I am not sure as we don't really knows the details and confirmations espc from Jamie.. but I feel that Jamie literally know everything, and since from the very beginning. He's like the type of omniscient person that chills but secretly know about anything - but he mostly keeps them to himself
Tumblr media
^ know from very beginning since this scene, Jamie realizes the sadness from Gwen been called ugly by Frederick... But as very confused and he's the type that not jumping to the conclusion... He waiting cleverly for the day that he could meeting to Frederick and asking (interrogate) about 2 things: What's his hobbies, and if he ever loves someone before. The question about Frederick's hobbies is his hints for Gwen's love spionage while Frederick's awkward answer gives him the needed answer for whatever his hypothesis which likely: Oh, Frederick truly the shy one and awkward one - he even let go his previous hobbies for whatever reasons.. He indeed hurts Gwennie, but Gwennie smitten with him since first time knowing him but unaware to it.. I could be their love cupid!
[while talking to Frederick about his engagement to Gwendolyn] "No one should be forced to become close to anyone they don't want to. But please just allow me to say... that Gwen is truly special to everyone who gets to know her. I've tried dishes by chefs all over the world, and yet I've never tasted anything as lovely and warm as the food she makes. There's something wonderful about her and everything she puts her heart into. So... I'm just looking forward to the day you realize this too!" - cupid's quote
Tumblr media
^ when Jamie first tastes Gwennie bakes in this plot point, he realizes that Gwennie meets some awesome people after the wake - people that gives her confidence to learn that she's beautiful and worthy of love. But as the identity of these 'awesome people' are classified because they are cursed, Jamie knows and deemed to not wants to pry. Jamie just observes Gwennie, which he looks to be more happier
Tumblr media
^ Aside from his power to could tastes emotions, he also highly observant (similar with Isolde) - and when he see that Gwennie becomes closer with Frederick after their talk at the library - he said "Very nice, Gwennie". Jamie do similar thing but to Frederick at the gala by said "Very nice, Frederick"
Tumblr media
^ He initially wary over Leopold that he thoughts might be the one that 'harms' his dear twin sister happiness (which he thought related to her blossoming feelings to Frederick) -but when Gwen answers Leopold's question about her romantic feeling (Gwen needs to repressing her own romantic feeling to Frederick, because she afraid by growing feelings to him that she declared as merely friend - it's gonna breaks the engagements of marne and lonce. I am not emphatetic so I won't assume whatever Jamie thoughts at that time, but he's there along with Leopold so he knows the deepest secret of his twin sister from that way of answering the question
Tumblr media
^ fast forward to Gwen's Dinner Party. I imagine that Jamie could tastes proudness (and maybe akin to self-love?) from Gwen's cooking-as she makes the dinner party that helped by her 'classmates' and Frederick to be reality, and things going well. Jamie confirming his own hypothesis that Gwen's classmates even thou hiding themself as cursed people and acting like ordinary people, they're want the best for Gwennie - so does Frederick too as I could see that Jamie notices acts of kindness that Frederick did to Gwennie like offering her hors d'vor and saves the dinner with his capture of the crow
iN NUTSHELL FOR THE SUMMARY:
Yes, Jamie knows everything and from the very beginning not just from eating Gwennie's foods like what he claimed to be... [at unhappily-ever-after part 2 afaik] but also because he's highly observant person [his gala outfit, and his costume to saves Frederick is a detective - highlight himself as a highly observant detective type], truly could see anyone in good perspective that makes him not a conclusion jumper especially regarding Isolde's "trapped" situation - or gives chance to Frederick (unlike his sisters that after the gala, holds Frederick solely accountable for all of Gwen's hurts). Gwen ultimate flaw is her lack (or could be say, abysmal) skill of communications - but Jamie as his twin brother "knows her best" by not only tasting her foods but by - with her
Shipping name acronyms:
gwenderick: gwen x frederick
marne: maria x blaine
lonce: lorena x lance
P.S: Hope you enjoying the answer, feel free to reblog or gives answer note to this. See ya!

GwenDerick/FredDolyn outfits analysis
I am sorry for the mention tagging there but I think you guys are the expert with canon-compliant analysis that I love ><
@the-queen-of-ships also because it'll part of @cpcwiki later
A previous post from @deldeldel90 about comparing Gwen's wedding dress that Leland imagines VS Lilyth's wedding dress make me overthinking so many things at once
Tumblr media
^ Also anyone that read this post please help to analyze her dress details, this such very hard details espc around the patterns.. is the one on her waist resembling serpents? what's on the end of her dress? White roses is common for wedding
[to not wandering too wide, I will focus on wedding dress and colot motif theory about the comparisons in general]
Tumblr media
Lilyth is the mother of the Pastel kids, the Princesses in nutshell not knowing their mother so much based on the evidence: They (Maria and Lorena) can't gives proper reply to Leland when he confusing them about "your father loves your mother much more than you guys as his kids" /ep154 + we know Gwen truly didn't remember about her mother and only remembers her as "warm and glowy" which she passed away when Gwen is 3 years old = 13 years ago
Leland despite how evil he is IMHO 'unknowingly' gives a much closure about their mother in the form of Lilyth's wedding dress in form of applying all elements of their mother's wedding dress. The most obvious is shape "mermaid style" that given to Gwen. Although not only her but Maria (about sleeves) and Lorena (open chest part) too
To ending the discussion about outfits so not becomes too long and no one gives reply/reblog/commentaries lmao. We moves on to the major characters color motif of the Plaid-Pastel Dynamics, I won't repeat the obvious one like the 'green kid is Gwen, so does Frederick from his eyes'
No offense at all especially as I know I am totally far from the fashionista, but episode 146 panel as following makes me realizes something in subjective personal territory : Gwen is looks much nicer in her color motif which imho are dark green (instead pastel green) and white as her inner shirt, and her first outfit when meeting the Plaid Princes with color motif of light orange and pastel green didn't suit her at all
Tumblr media
^ when Frederick comments that dress is abhorrent, imho that's the truth as the orange ribbon is like nuisances. In ep 146 we see the comparison of her old outfit VS new one..
Maybe it's just me that thinking about the old one is 'ugly'?
Tumblr media
^ also looking back at Episode 112 we have comparison of her in early era (amusement park) and personally I think she looks so much nicer simply because changing her outfit and hairstyle, she's still the same Gwendolyn but with her looks more tidy = she looks nicer as well in the eyes

^ Also in the same episode, 112.. We have imagination of Gwen 'dressing up' Frederick nicely, as she looks like the very beautiful looking Princess. It's one of the best outfit of them imho that I wish could becomes canon as not only the dream. I am surprised that both of them has black color motif but it's actually really great on them? Especially as we see Gwen with new hair-do (IDK what's the hairstyle of it, help me please)
Also no matter what I feel green plaid is always Frederick's
Black is not only the color of evil like Leland as the ultimate evil villain in the CPC, but also the color of elegance as Prez (Calpernia) that we knows truly kind and epitome of goodness has black as her main color motif. Monika's color motif is also black as a crow, but she's def not evil person
btw despite GwenDerick sharing the same color motif, green (as everything looks good on them if they wear green) - I think black and white as standard 'monochrome' colo fits them well as part. Along with pink for Gwen, while grey and golden/yellow for Frederick /personal opinion
I am one of the reader that see everything in Frederick's eyes as once she's not looking accidentally creepy, she's actually so pretty and cute espc with elfish ears and pair of lil fangs. IDK if seen as offensive but IMHO all braided island's folks is more like serpents if becoming humans instead as seaweed - especially if looking at their nostril and bulging eye... But remember, I am Serpent enthusiast especially as my favorite house in the Hogwarts is Slyterin, the house of snakes. I believe not all snakes are bad, and I find serpents symbolism is not always bad - there's so many good thing meanings like what @saemi-the-dreamer (sorry for ping!) written in the past but I like to add 2 points: "medicine/healing" and "guardianship" for good meanings of the serpent. So in nutshell GwenDerick/FredDolyn indeed the green pair which also the serpent pair (one is metaphorical, one is literal) but didn't means they're representing the bad symbolism. If Severus Snape as the perfect example of equilibrium of bad and good, the ultimate double agent, not in the story of Harry Potter.. I am pretty sure that most of the efforts to completely defeating Voldemort as the main antagonist can't happen. Frederick (especially from his father) and Gwendolyn (from her mother) is could be seen as the serpent but if they're in the Hogwarts setting I believe they won't in the Slyterin house because they're lacking cunningness and ambition

Gwen's Dreamscape Analysis
A webtoon comment make a weird theory that Humpty Dumpty = little prince = the tiniest prince = Frederick because color motif is 'green' and 'golden' - but rereading make me sure it's the (abhorrent, sorry I know Gwen's dress beautiful but I like to make 'dark joke' based on canon) dress that Gwen wears at the very first meeting with the Plaid Princes. So a theory is debunked, but make me theorizing about entire things related to Gwen's dreamscape so far
That theory is, related to Humpty Dumpty~
And the recent episode gives more material to analyze over - WHY Gwen dreamscape there?
Tumblr media
I never expected Rose Hall to appear in the dream, I predict the crystal room long ago from cpc webtoon banner. Rereading also make me believe that locatiins in her dream related to her shattered feelings...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the 2 locations, both gwenderick/freddolyn moment and I find it's important to mention. These locations if linked with Frederick in nutshell about him questioning Gwen's (in term of romantic) as following :
Crystal room: Frederick wondering about the truth to Gwen about his conscience that something amiss in their relationship with;
"did I do something that hurt you when we first met? "
I've wrote my interpretation in previous post, in nutshell Frederick wondering what's wrong
Rose hall: aside from the whole broken proposals fiasco, I like to pointing out Frederick's quote right before the waffle note comes falling down
"T-this is all happening so fast… "
My interpretation is that Frederick feeling something amiss, something is skipped over - and we as the reader know what is it…
Tumblr media
Gwen hiding the truth that she overhears about Frederick called her very ugly in their first meeting day, she keep hides it desperately (similar with how her own mother hides the truth that she's not feeling herself to be beautiful, to Jack - her romantical love interest) - even when Frederick nudges her to tell the truth at the gala right after his bullies got dealt, or Prez warns her that hiding truths isn't a good relationship foundation (even if pres is aroace that not really understand romance, that's warning is correct)
Tumblr media
I have personal intake about : "something missing" that Gwen wonders in her dreamscape
Is related to the need for Gwen to processs everything, mainly for her believing that Frederick's apology is true - what he said recently is true, as he's changing opinion about her… That he believes that Gwen is beautiful.
Tumblr media
If you love someone genuinely (if I could dare to say, the true love) , your love interest becomes very beautiful in your eyes (like comically the animated shoujo filter for example). This make me believe that Frederick is PART of the solution for Gwen's self love and it's healthy one once Gwen sees Frederick with honesty. Remember my previous analysis over Frederick's outfit that ended with urging Gwen to see Fred as a true him - because (romantic) relationship is supposed to be a joint effort, Frederick doing his best in waking reality to be the true him and Gwen needs to do her part too by believing him.
So if Frederick love is likely true love, will his kiss breaks the spell and awakes Gwen? It could be, but I didn't want to take debate about what's actually the true love and what's self-love supposed to be (I have enough of people that still despising Frederick, like believing that she should woken up by other way as gwenderick is "toxic"). Because? I didn't know as I am happily single, I won't presume to know what's love is especially theorizing which exactly the true love for Gwen - but I take the witch saying that true love doesn't necessarily to be singular, you could have multiple true love at once and even to non-human like Jamie loves waffle. This means the multiple true love that Gwen has could be directed to multiple options at once.
Tumblr media
Also remember, despite so many people loves Gwen - what matters to breaks the spell is if Gwen loves them back or not. And that's the problem because with the way poisoned apple scene depicted very closely to attempting suicide - Gwen in dreamscape truly believes that no one loves her. Look at panel right before she eats the apple. Someone that feeling in pit of despair feels like they're deep at the dark tunnel without any light (as believes no one will care or love them) when in reality is not true, there's always light at the end of tunnel. BUT people in despair got numbed in their sense, which could leads them not realizing the reality OR believes (have delusions) in things that actually not real (having hallucinations). Thanksfully the dream spell that the witch made make noises (sound) and smell could still seep in the dream - and we have dubious witch way that related to portrait BUT this leads to the another theory subplot that I feel won't explain right now espc because we're lacking canon content to speculate about it
I like to move on to another step of my theory about gwenderick/freddolyn. Frederick could escape from the prison because he got delusions (that mixed with realities sense in the way of his mother and Jamie talking to her through the thick) that despite everything, Gwen needs him and he should get out from the prison to can see Gwen again. There's mysterious scene where the gala portrait got lifted up to the top so laverne can see it and lifting Frederick up, and with the witch say the soul that trapped in the 'magical' portrait (that Leland stole, thus make Plaid palace haunted for years) could travels to any portrait in the house they reside in. So I predict the reason it could go up because Lilyth's soul posses the portrait at the moment. Means Lilyth helps Frederick (future son-in-law) indirectly
Tumblr media
^ that link is to my theory about Fred's outfit, might be too irrelevant but what I like to highlight is "once Fred be the true him, without trying to be Plaid prince, is the start of him could reach Gwen". And I have theory (more like hope) that Frederick could somehow reach Gwen too that helps Gwen to be awake from the spell. Maybe by assuring Gwen that he truly loves her (sound?). Maybe his mere presence (like his smell, but unsure if Gwen could recognizing Fred's smell or his smell recognizable - it's kinda rude notion as compares her akin to dogs) make Gwen realizes that Frederick is here, debunking her worry that Fred didn't want to be 'here'?
Whatever the actual situation, what's actually the true love, how exactly to breaks the spell...I feel Frederick should in the part of variable, in similar way of Gwen is the reason he escapes the prison. So I believe that Frederick will help Gwen to awakes, be it directly or indirectly - and Lilyth will help as part of variable to help Gwen. Make the 3 variables (Lilyth, Gwen, Frederick) be part of "breaking the spell" - which the first as spell of imprisonment already broken, now slumber spell
END: Let's see various screenshoots about self-love! It could be hints to predict the future!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the club ideas of self-love is giving hints:
@ Lean to (us) that loves you - at the season 4 Gwen changes her notion of love (from at the start shattered to couldn't self-love, to her sisters [the one that works but mere moment] and her friends at the CPC [there's still cracks but small) that to Frederick, romantic love interest, completely. Prez alrdy warns about this, twice but Gwen didn't heed the warning
@ believe (us) when we tell that you're beautiful. For now Gwen didn't believe at all that she's beautiful, espc because her reflection becomes so creepy it totally not showing her entire face. I feel during the gala as now Gwen anchors herself totally to Frederick's love, the previous love source from her siblings along with the CPC can't work. This make Gwen should believe in one, or multiple sources at once: believing that she truly beautiful herself (Leopold hints by apple pie and autumn example, will you hate them if others said they hate those two? No), believing what Frederick tell to him as a truth without forcing notion (it could be happen with Frederick assuring Gwen again that she's beautiful, her dreamscape could hear sounds from outside world - but Fred not yet near Gwen) or the motherly love as Lilyth enters her dream (one of biggest problem for this, is that Gwen could be SUS over Lilyth as she never know her before, and the witch say that the soul can't communicate or touch with anyone)
@ remember that you never alone : I won't tell much because i know there's nice theory about in by someone in cpc blr but I forgot exactly, but dream! Gwen wears her mother's robe - so it's the hint that Lilyth is the key for Gwen's self love
The self-love that being rushed over as shown in the panel of episode 146, it's indeed not right solution to skip forward (to happy ending)

Let's back to the BBW - big bad wolf (real last!)
BBW basically chasing and breaking havoc in Gwen's dreamscape, like urging her to awake from the slumber spell but in violent way and I am afraid if that could harms Gwen somehow. I feel it's identity being so important as the key for gwen breaks the slumber spell thou. And idk if it's just me bit the very last place that Gwen in, is similar with prison cell Fred trapped? Coincidence?? Am I overanalyzing? Well~
