kaeya alberich: pavo ocellus

kaeya alberich headcanons. (not proofread lol)

vacations.

kaeya enjoys using his vacation days as vacation-y as possible. not one document will be skimmed, and no mention of the knights until he returns to his job.

he has visited each and every country so far, and as many tourist traps whenever he can.

he didn't just stow himself to port ormos: after the initial attempt he looked to inazuma after hearing about enkanomiya and "before sun and moon". try explaining that to crepus.

watatsumi island and the sangonomiya shrine is still one of his most memorable locations after that day.

diluc.

kaeya has always been talkative, while his brother had always been the silent type. in their childhood, kaeya would often talk for the both of them, diluc whispering responses in his ears.

he acquired his taste for alcohol only a few months after he recieved his vision. that was the first time he had seen his brother since that day.

he requests his patrols to be near the border of liyue often. he hopes to catch a glimpse of diluc as he passes by the dawn winery each time.

he doesn't blame diluc for ignoring him. if his brother turned out to be working under his arch nemesis, he'd be pissed too. should he have told him sooner? should he have told him at all?

work.

he doesn't mind being the cavalry captain, but waiting for his cavalry to come home is another topic. other than patrols, the majority of his work is documents and naps.

when klee makes it to isolation, he's the one who breaks her out. she refuses at first, but eventually they make it to his office. he'll listen to her adventures with his utmost attention.

he falls asleep at his desk often. his humble room in the knights of favonius' headquarters is too difficult to sleep in; he misses his bed in the winery.

because of how small his workload is, he goes through jean's tasks when she leaves her office. he knows how stressed she is, and takes on the more difficult jobs for her.

relations.

he's scared to fall in love. maybe it's the commitment, maybe it's the fear they'll leave. whatever the cause, abandonment issues keep him grounded. you'll never see him confess first.

he might be seen as a "flirt" to the customers of angel's share, but that's strictly his work life. he frequently slips over his words and loses his train of thought over romantic notions.

plans extravagant gifts months in advance, for birthdays or anniversaries. he's typically a modest man, but he would spend any amount of mora for the one he cherishes dearest.

he's a huge friendzoner, both on accident and on purpose. he's ruined many opportunities, but he sees it as a safer option than laying his heart out for everyone to see. he's planned everything, sometimes for his own downfall.

kamisato ayato: cypressus custos

work.

what is work-life balance? he never sees a healthy relationship between the two with the tri-commission breathing down his back.

if he's not working, he's training. if he's not training, he's dead asleep. if he's not dead asleep, you'll finally get to see him with his sister and thoma.

some work takes forever, and he has to sift through hundreds of papers and books. he usually doesn't sleep during these times, much to thoma's and ayaka's worry.

about 60-70% of his job is writing: sending letters to branches, invitations to celebrations, settling disputes, and everything in between. the perfectionist in him makes it so many rough drafts are wasted. because of this, paper sales are highly inflated and usually only make it to the tri-commission and the narukami shrine.

leisure.

when you see ayato come out of his workstation for the first time in about a week, you can bet he'll be doing nothing but napping or training.

luckily, he finds both his hobby in caligraphy and his training in the arts quite relaxing compared to the pent up struggles that take up the majority of his work.

he has a tendency to take a stroll around inazuma city without telling his servants, causing bouts of panic throughout the kamisato estate. his infrequency in showing his face makes him barely recognizable to the majority of civilians.

he often gets spotted by itto, and gets challenged to many rounds of tcg and many more rounds of onikabuto duels. it's charming.

gifts.

he's always been fond of the idea of giving gifts to one another, and enjoys the trade of small collectibles and trinkets to those he holds dearest.

he cherishes anything he receives, regardless of the sentiment the gifter had of the item. he hoards his items until the end, or until the servants can convince him to gift it somewhere else.

he especially loves overseas gifts, like the imported chess board from mondstadt made of the finest cedar wood available.

he isn't a fan of alcoholic beverages as gifts, but he will still take them with a smile and try each one. his worst was probably fire water, which ruined the rest of his evening. snezhnaya is crazy.

celebrating his birthday.

thoma usually leaves to visit the windblume festival, but always comes home just in time with a new recipe or small trinket for ayato. sometimes ayato will attempt to gift thoma something in return, but is usually declined because "that's not how birthdays work", or something.

ayato usually plans his own birthdays, but some years he'll be locked in his room by his own sister so she can truly surprise him. no guesses allowed.

when he turned twenty, the next seijin no hi was celebrated in and around the kamisato estate. it was probably the most extravagant celebration he had ever put together, and he wishes for his sister to experience it too. hopefully for her, she wouldn't have to go through the painstaking effort of sending letters to every other twenty-year-old in inazuma.

he usually clears his work schedule for a week after his birthday to take a rest and enjoy his new year before going back to the paperwork he'll have to endure for the rest of it.
