I heard his voice, both recognizable and foreign, but it was Hancock's. It graces my ears gingerly and roughly, but it does not deter my heart from being suddenly filled with his presence. The night air found its way into my bound hair and collected the sounds of my kanzashi as I suddenly turned to face him. Duty had kept me busy, and soon the evening would bind me to another, thus this was a treat, to see him before I was beckoned away.

Ready to greet him properly with a formal bow, I already conjured an image of him behind my eyes before they opened. His famed yukata the color of clear skies, the scarlet glasses lifted to his sunlit threaded hair, a familiar sight that --

-- in which I was not immediately met with.

His face was his, though what adorned him came as a surprise. Cotton and silk folds were replaced with leather and steel. I recognized the design worn by another stranger, now imitated by someone standing before me much stranger than the warrior Clive.

Speechless may be a redundant word to use around me. But, in this case, even my hands stilled and I could not muster anything beyond the word why. My silent shock may have been misunderstood with awe, though the tight-fitting attire did compliment his build, it was alarming to fathom he could possibly move in it.

However, it seems the merchant, who was previously exchanging words with me, paused as he witnessed this awkward exchange and found more joy in it than I did.

I went into the gorgeous and cozy noodle bar, The Umbral Udon and of course, I had to gpose after seeing how immersive this was, a perfect backdrop for a story! Please give it a visit, it deserves all the visitors !!
