Name: Nico Ghai; changed it to Red Robin for his vigilante hobby

Age: 19 (current time; ages like normal humans)

Height: 5'5

Nationality: Half Earthrealmer (from mothers side), half Outworlder (from fathers side)

Alignment: chaotic good

Story: Originally a victim of slavery under Shao Kahn's rule, he escaped and promised to free his parents. He found himself in a fortress hiding in a treasure hoard, where he discovered two daggers that he used to climb down from the outer side of the fortress. When he returned to his captor's outpost, nothing but dead corpses could be found, and in the midst of that, he found his parent's bodies. He as devastated, terrified, furious. The outposts leader tried to attack him from behind, to which he couldn't react to it in time to dodge. However, when he put his hands infront himself, the blood that spilled that second was not Nico's. The Outworlder laid dead on the floor, with the stained daggers in the air. They protected him, and he used them to slay every other guard in that 4 for a bit. In his teens, he was taught by a martial artist to punch and kick, after which he made a striking red and white vest with a hood, an iron mask with a bird beek design and a feathered cape to complete the set and give himself the title of "Red Robin." He was a vigilante of sorts, hunting, and occasionaly killing, criminals. He was mostly doing this in the Market place and some nearby towns. Despite his brutal methods, a large chunk of the Outworld soon enough remembered the caped crusaders name. Not long after, few years later, the new ruler of of the realm, Kitana Kahn, took notice of his talents and asked him to start protecting the royal house, which he was unsure at first, but accepted. A year goes by and he helps the Lin Kuei and Special Forces capture a majority of the Black Dragon clan and taking custody of Kano, and eventually joins the S.F.'s squad lead by Cassie Cage called the Kombat Kids. He also enjoys spending time with Tremor, a Black Dragon member turned super solider.

Fighting style/weaponry: Robin's fighting style consists of fast movements and fancy footwork. His weapons of choice are his mystic daggers, which he can use in close-ranged kombat and can throw at his opponents and they return if he so desires. But because he's half Outworlder, he can do magic, and the one passed down from his father is a greeb fire-like magic. He can infuse the daggers with said magic, which makes them more effective damage-wise, but lack range, making this somewhat of a last resort move.

Bio (pre Smoke Screen): born to a slave camp while Shao Kahn was still kicking, the boy escaped to a fortress, where he found two mystic daggers which he used to escape said fortress. When he returned, he found nothing but corpses of every man and woman there, including his parents. As he was about to be jumped by a guard, he puts his hands in front of the guard as a means to block and the blades fly through his chest. With this newfound power, he slaughtered every man in that camp and ran away. Soon after, a mage by the name of Dorfen took him under his wing. Teaching him everything he would later learn in life, and most importantly: teaching him that comedy is the best medicine. After several years, the boy learned to control his fire, both figuratively and litteraly), crafted a mask made of a special metal, put together a red, white and black outfit and sew together a cape made of feathers. Giving himself a new name, being Red Robin. With this, he hung around in the market, knocking over criminals and very occasionaly killing a couple. After Shao's death, Kitana has taken up the throne as the new Kahn and hired Robin as protection for the royal house.

(Smoke Screen and beyond) Special Forces, along with Sub Zero and Smoke, walked trough the door, and first thing Robin does is make fun of Kuai fuckin' Liang and almost dies for it. He helps them out with their Black Dragon issue and after it, he he joins the SF as a member of the Kombat Kids™, goes on missions n' shit and hangs out with @cyberneticsanguinaire's Billie any second he can.

Fighting style: Robin doesn't have a direct name for his fighting style, but the main things he does while fighting are to look as sick as possible. Wether its flipping, spinning or sliding, He doesn't care if he needs big damage, he just wants to look cool.

Weapons/abilities: Robin's weapons of choice are his two mystic daggers which he uses for long and close range, as he can throw them and control the direction of the daggers through the air. He can also boost his damage by lighting his blades on fireussing fire magic, passed down by his father. His fire glows green, kind of like Spawn's fire in MK11

I think what inspired me the most when writing Smoke Screen was Mortal Kombat 9 and X. That is why i wrote Kabal as a good guy, because in the third act of 9, we learn Kabal leaves the Black Dragon and joins the police force. I tried to leave as much stuff from 11 out of this fic, but goddamn, I just can't ignore that the outfits in 11 are some of the best in the series, some of that stuff is what gave me the ideas for the outfits in the poster i did a while back

Tremor tidbit

As for why i decided to make Tremor leave the Black Dragon and join the Special Forces is because he never really had a backstory of how or why he joined the clan. Since the story is heavely inspired by 9 and X, the events of both games took place, so the invasion on Earthrealm did happen, and Cassie Cage was born and beat the shit out of Shinnok. Tremor's story was that he was a married man with a child, living in New York in the time the Invasion Began. He lost his wife and daughter, but he was found by Kano, who took the broken man to Outworld, where little by little he turned into the rock human we know him as. I think the main reason why I wrote him to be a good guy is because of his intro dialogues in X with Kano, where he says things like "You left me to die!" and "I'm leaving the Black Dragon." I sat there and I thought, "yeah, I can use that." Other than that, the main thing i was going for when writing Tremor, was like, he isn't evil, just with the wrong people, or he's just following orders because he has nothing else to lose. That was the angle i was really going for.

Tremor tidbit over

The writing format i use to write my fic is a script format, mainly for one reason. Whenever i'm reading things like books, I usually try to imagine a voice for the characters in my head, so when I read one characters line, it cuts to the next character without me realizing it until i reach the end of the quotation marks and then i start the line over. Scripting might sound a bit lazy and constantly rewriting the current character talkings name gets a bit repetative, but it's what keeps me going and it gets the job done.

So i hope that cleared some things up
