Reasons why I'm in love with Jake (3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heeeeey!! It's been a while, huh?
Sorry about that, but med school has just been soooo time consuming and wasn't able to play even a single minigame. But I'm on vacation now and I'm free as a bird, haha.
So, I'll keep posting this because 1) I love Jake, obviously, and 2) I've been waiting for Moonvale since they announced it and I just can't wait! Fingers crossed we'll see our favorite hackerboy again.
Fourth and probably final part coming soon. ;)

Jake: I believe everybody in this house needs to buy a personal computer and stop using mine.
Dan: Sharing is caring, hackerboy.
Jake: Well then, I don't care about y’all.
MC:
Jake: Except you, of course.
Jessy: We use yours because it is so much faster and the keys of the keyboard are really soft.
Jake: That is because mine is a computer specialized for hacking. And it's not for silly games like Angry Birds and Purble Place, Jessica.
Richy: So it can't handle games?
Jake: *Offended* What? Of course, it can. It can handle tons of games working at the same time.
Richy: So what's the problem?
Jake: I need to do some important business and the problem is, wait, I’ll just show you. *Points to his computer*
Cleo: *Playing Purble Place* Shit, it was supposed to be chocolate over vanilla.

Imagine the story where the villain threaten Jake by choosing between saving MC from the death or saving the entire world from the virus that will damage their brain through radiation or something (cannot come up with anything but Kingsman reference).
"So what will you choose, hackerboy?" The villain mocks. "Save this woman of yours or the entire world?"
Jake clenches his jaw, his brain stop working since the moment MC said she'd involve in this mission.
"ANSWER ME!" the villain yells.
"In the end, you make me choose to save the entire world..." he trails off. "...or my entire world."
He stares at the screen which showing her in the dark room with him being told that wrapped by so many bombs, so many explosive things.
Just when Jake want to open his mouth and answer, MC cut him off, "Jake."
The sweet voice of her makes him falling one drop of tears, brushing his cheek that is covered by mud and blood.
"I have no idea if you could hear me or not, I have no clue what you two are talking about," she sniffles. "But if you are in the position to choose between me or the world..."
Don't say that, Jake says as if he knew what will the girl says.
"...choose the world."
Jake grimaces in pain as if every words that comes out from that sweet mouth of hers is slicing him, cutting him into pieces, tearing him apart until there is nothing left to harm.
"Because then I can go to the afterlife. And if there is a god, I will make him cry and beg for your forgiveness."
And then cut! I don't know what's next.

I just realize, when we talk with Jake throughout the game, he rarely use the short phrases, like "I can't... I don't... I wouldn't... This isn't..." He mostly use the more formal way of saying it, if you get what I'm trying to say here. 😅 And honestly, I find that fits him and makes him even hotter because of it! 😏🤭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, I don't have much screenshots from then, but I checked some I have from the start of the game, and it seemes to me that the way he talks to us drastically changes from the beginning, where he is more like cocky/brash at the start, and then the more we talk and get to know eachother (and some feelings get to be developed), he becomes more polite, and carring and soft with us 😶 Or I'm just being to mesmerized by our hot hackerboy and I'm just blabbering nonsence! 😅 Still, he is HOT, and that's the important thing here! 🤭😏💚 Okie, that's it, kthxbyeeeee! 😁💚

This started out as a Oneshot but the more I started writing I had to turn it into a story
Chapter 1
It had been 2 years since MC last spoke with Jake. Everyday she looked at her phone for any sign of new messages from him she sat and thought about it all of the time. Now that she had moved to duskwood to be closer to the group it was some comfort to her. While MC was sitting by the window watching the rain run down the window. Her thoughts drifted back to Jake and how he promised her that he wouldn't leave after he got out of the mine. He would find a way for them to be together. He told her that he loved her when MC read it her heart warmed and a smile spread across her face. She wrote back to him "I love you to Jake"
She felt something inside her that knew she had to go and find him. She got up from the windowsill and took out her laptop looking at all the locations close by that had a Chinese restaurant across from it. That's if he was even a neat one this was just a shot in the dark that he might be near one. MC quickly wrote down several locations and packed a boy with everything she would need. Before she left she sent a text to Jessy letting her know what she was going to do.
MC: Hey Jessy, there is something I have to do. I think you know what I am going to do. Please don't be mad. I have to do this.
Jessy: MC, I get it please just be careful and if you need anything please let me know day or night stay safe MC xx
MC: thanks Jessy xx
MC put her phone back in her pocket making sure she had everything she put on her jacket and grabbed her car keys. Once in the car she opened up the chat between her and Jake she thought for a few seconds about sending him a message. The more she thought about it her fingers started to type out a message.
MC: hi Jake, long time no speak I know you're in hiding but I can't do this anymore you can hate me for it if you want but I am coming to look for you. I can't live without you Jake I love you Jake xx
MC hit send and a wave of emotions washed over her had she done the right thing in letting Jake know she was coming to find him. MC started the car and set the first location on her sat nav. The first location would take her to Colville; it was a big town outside of duskwood Jessy had told her a little about when they first met. After a few hours of driving MC pulled up at the first motel MC got out of the car and went to get a room. The motel looked a little run down and the vacancy sign was broken. There were some not so friendly people hanging around outside but MC just kept her focus on the reception area.
Once MC made it inside she paid for a couple of nights upfront, the receptionist gave her the key to her room. MC made her way up the stairs to her room. The inside looked a little better than the outside. There was a double bed in the center of the room with a TV on the wall. On either side of the bed were two night stands, the bathroom was simple, it had a shower, toilet and sink. On the desk in the bedroom was a kettle and mug with some coffee and tea. MC closed the curtains and locked the door, turned on the TV for background noise and sat down on the bed.
MC pulled out her phone and saw a message from Jake, her heart started to race for the first time in 2 years he had reached out to her.
Jake: MC, do not come looking for me it is for your own safety, I will not put you in danger please go home.
A tear ran down MCs face she couldn't believe he was being so cold, didn't he get that she was so in love with him that she needed to be with him. She had spent 2 years thinking of the day they would finally get to meet. MC started to type a message back to Jake she wasn't going to give up on her mission to find him.
MC: No Jake!! I won't. I am going to find you. I need you, listen hackerboy I love you do I am going to find you!!
MC threw her phone down on the bed anger taking over her, sure part of her understood why Jake didn't want her to find him but he promised her that they would see each other again. MC knew there was nothing she could do right now so she grabbed some instant noodles from her bag and made something to eat.
The next morning MC woke up looking at her phone and there were no new messages from Jake. She got up out of bed and went to take a shower feeling a little better. After the shower she made a coffee and sat down on the bed. While MC waited for the coffee to be made she got dressed and dried her hair. Once the coffee was done she sat at the desk with her laptop with the boy mug in her hands.
MCs POV
There are a few locations I can check out today after what Jake said last night my hopes of finding him feel defeated. I have to find him though I miss him so much I've never felt like this about anyone before. I don't even know what I'm going to do even if I manage to find the right location. Do I just go in and start looking around? I know I can't just sit here and do nothing. I gather my thoughts and recenter myself taking a deep breath in and out I put my trainers on and head out the door. I drove around for a while with no luck. I decide to pull over and grab some food from a small convenience shop.
Feeling defeated, I head to my car putting the bags on the back seat, I look up to start the car and see a figure in the shadows coming closer. My heart started to beat even faster it felt like it was going to jump out of my chest as the figure got closer I realized that it wasn't Jake they just continued walking towards the shop. I start my car and head back to the motel for the night there is nothing more I can do right now. I'm starting to think Jake doesn't even want to be found. Would he purposely hide himself even more just so I won't find him? I have all these thoughts running around my mind. I was so focused and hell bent on finding him.
The next day MC checked a few more places with no luck, she headed back to the motel to check out. Once in the car MC checked her map before moving onto the next location the next one would lead her out of colville and into the next city. She took her phone out before setting off. She looked at her message and noticed that all her texts to Jake had been deleted. The more she looked she noticed that not all of them had been there was one left. It was the very last message Jake had sent her before leaving the mine "I love you MC" "I love you to Jake" a tear fell down MCs cheek her heart felt like it was breaking.
Would she ever be able to find him? Will all the promises he made stay the same empty, nothing but empty promises from him did he even mean what he said in that mine. Or was he just saying it to make MC feel better? MC threw her phone on the passenger seat and started the car. Driving to the next location on her list more doubts started to fill her mind was she doing the right thing? She shook the thoughts out of her mind and continued driving.
Once she arrived at the next motel she parked the car and went to check in, this motel was a lot nicer and the room was more cozy and welcoming. The double bed was in the center of the room with two night stands either side. The bathroom was a lot bigger, the shower had more space to move about on one of the walls was a towel warmer. There was a desk in the corner of the room equipped with a kettle, coffee and tea.
MCs POV
As it's still light outside I can go and get some more supplies from the shop across the road from the motel. Grabbing my jacket and keys I make my way over to the shop and pick up a few things. While I walk about the shop my mind drifts back to Jake remembering all the promises he made me. Was it really all for nothing? Did I really care that little to him for him to delete all the messages we had sent each other. The more I thought about it I knew I had to be wrong. He kept that one message there for a reason he really did love me and just doesn't want to put me in danger.
I want him to hold me in his arms like he promised, I want to go on that date with him to a Chinese restaurant. I could feel the hope starting to rise inside me. I knew I could do this. I have to do this. It's the only way we can truly be together and if that means leaving my old life behind I will gladly do that for him.
Jake I will find you, I will look into your bright blue ocean eyes and tell you how much I love you.

Evanescent
(She was the evanescent of his life– there and gone.)
Part 1
You were already on your way to Duskwood when a notification popped in your phone. Without wasting as much as a second, you unlocked the phone. It was Lilly.
Lilly
Dan and I went to the site. To find Jake.
You forgot how to breathe.
Lilly
He is fine.
You exhale. You didn't know how long you had been holding it in. But finally a sigh of relief left your lips. You tried so hard not to think of the last text he sent you but it was all you thought about. And now finally you could think about it, dream about him without feeling uneasy or sad.
Amelia
I am so thankful. So so deeply
Lilly
It's okay. You don't need to thank me.
Amelia
So that means he's with you right now?
How's he?
Is he hurt?
Lilly
Yes, despite his reluctance to come with us, Dan somehow convinced him to come. I don't know what Dan said to him but it worked and he's at my place right now. So is Hannah.
He has a little wound around his neck but it's not something to worry about.
Amelia
I understand. What's he doing now?
Lilly
He is resting. He's exhausted. I mean, really exhausted.
Amelia
Can I tell you something and hope you wouldn't tell Jake?
Lilly
A secret? Of course
Amelia
I’m on my way to Duskwood
Lilly
Oh
OH
OH SHIT
Amelia
Yeah, shit.
Lilly
You need to come STRAIGHT TO MY HOUSE
Wait
I'll share my location
Amelia
Yeah, that would help, thank you
Lilly shares the location of her house and you are surprised that you are only fifteen minutes away from her house. From Jake. And you intend to cover that distance as soon as possible. So you start walking faster. The streets start getting narrower with almost no light. Five minutes away. And you are practically running now.
Not a single thing could stop you. Unless someone bumps into you and throws you off balance. The man who bumped into you cursed and instantly whispered an apology. Something clicked. That voice. You recognise it.
And almost unintentionally you say, “Phil?”
His long hair, the tattoo and his sharp features. No doubt, it's him.
“That’s right. Sorry— I— do I know—”
“I am Amelia.”
His eyes widened. “Wait, for real?”
You cringe. “Yes. I mean, how many people do you bump into on a daily basis who tell you that they are Amelia?” Your sarcasm makes him laugh. You don't have time to waste, you remind yourself.
“Well, it's wonderful—”
“I’m so sorry. But I really need to get somewhere right now. I’ll try to see you soon.” You emphasise on the try and hope he gets your level of interest.
“Sure. You know my number and place, so, anytime.” he smiles. The type of smile that would seduce any girl in this town but too bad, you are not from here.
You nod and run away. After four minutes that seemed like eternity, you are finally standing in front of Lilly’s house. You waste no time ringing the bell. Again and again. And again. Until the door opens and the first person you see is Lilly.
She has a knowing smile on her face. It's a smile that could light up the whole room but you know better. You know the sadness in that smile. She's clearly in denial but well, so are you. You can't think of Richy. You assume she told everyone else than Jake. You can't wait to see his reaction. Damn, you can't wait to see his face. Hear his voice.
Lilly wraps her hands around you and you mimic her movements. “God, I can't believe it's really you.” The hug reminds you how long it has been since the last time you hugged someone. Lilly lets go of you and you step inside the house. Your eyes instantly search for one particular person. But he is not here.
Instead, Dan appears from the kitchen. “Hey, princess.” and you can't help but to laugh and hug him.
“Loverboy is in the room upstairs. And he doesn't know shit about you being here.” He says while stepping back.
“Loverboy? Wasn't it you Hackerboy?” you say.  Lilly laughs beside you.
“Well, I remember the look on his face when we brought you up a couple of minutes ago. He is hacked, for real.” He says with confidence.
Well, you were hacked first. But instead you say, “Why are you coming from the kitchen? Wait— were you cooking?”
“Trying.” Lilly comments.
Dan glares at her. “Don’t make fun of my incompetence. At least I am trying.”
You laugh.
“Anyway—” you begin but Dan cuts you off.
“Yeah, yeah, you gotta make out with Loverboy, we get it, go ahead.” He shakes his hand. “But try to be less loud.”
“Oh shut up.” you say. You start making your way up the stairs, blushing hard on Dan’s comment. And in a few steps, you are in front of the room. Jake is inside that room. Your heart beats unevenly. This is it. You didn't prepare what you will say to him, didn't predict what words would leave his mouth. You are undone.
Still, you open the door.
The bed is empty. The couch is empty. The chair is empty.
Your eyes dart to the window. And there he is. Sitting by the window. Lost in his thoughts. You stand there admiring his face. His hair is black, the darkest shade at that. His body is lean, and he definitely is tall as hell. Even his side profile makes you swoon.
And slowly as you close the door, the door makes a sound which brings Jake out of his thoughts. Without completely turning away, he starts, “I am totally fine, Lilly. You can—”
But then his eyes land on you and he looks at you. His eyes are green and his face— his face is the most beautiful thing. And he is standing now, looking at you as if he doesn't believe what's happening right now.
Then, finally, he says, “Amelia.” His voice is smooth, soft and a little rough on the edges. “What are you doing here?”
“I came to see you. I was worried.” You say almost quickly.
His mouth opens and you realise he did not expect you to say that. You don't understand why.
“I came here to save you from trouble. And we had a promise, didn't we? You promised me you wouldn't come here.” His voice turns serious. And your smile is gone. You may have lied about not having any predictions about what he’ll say to you, because you had a million and this was not one of them.
“What do you mean? Jake,” You are lacking words but you know he is not making any sense right now. “Trouble is gone.” you simply say. “And you never send any message after our last conversation. How was I to know that you are fine? And our promise was for me to be safe. It didn’t ultimately mean you could sacrifice yourself for me.”
“Amelia, you don't understand. I didn't send you a message because I wasn't intending to.” He says and he sounds so so so far away. Out of your reach.
“What do you mean? What do you mean by that?” Your voice was rising with the speed of your heart. “What the hell, Jake? You tell me you love me with the intention of not talking to me ever again?”
His eyes become dark. You see his throat working. “Answer me. Answer me so that I can walk out of this room with some dignity.” You don't realise that you are moving closer to him. And soon you are close enough to the point that he has to look down to meet your gaze.
He looks away. “I told you that I love you because I intended to never see you again. Even if I had died in the mine or walked out completely fine, I had it decided.” then he meets your eyes again. “Because it is the best for both of us. And despite all arguments, you know it is.”
“No, I don't know shit, Jake. Because, honestly,” You take a step back, gesture to him, “I can't recognise you. You are not the Jake who talked about how our first meeting would be like. And now that it really is happening, you are pulling this shit?”
“We are never going to work.” His words pierce through your heart. “You know it somewhere but you can't accept it. It’ll hurt more in the future so—”
You cut him off because you couldn't listen to what he was saying. “So, let's just pretend to be strangers, right? Why did you even come here if you had it all planned out? What did Dan say so convincingly?”
He looks somewhere to your left. “I told him that I was ready to walk away from you and he told me that he would let me without telling you if I agreed to come here tonight. For Lilly. And he lied and I could punch the shit out of him right.”
“No, you are not going to punch the shit out of him. Because he is my friend. And a far more caring one than you.”
At that, he looks at you. The intensity of his eyes could swallow you whole. He takes a step closer. His feet brushing against yours. “Don’t say that.” His voice is low.
“Say what?”
His eyes don't move away from yours. “Don’t say that I don't care about you. I care, that's why I am walking away.”
This time, you move closer. You face inches away from him and he doesn't move back. He looks at you with the same sincerity and intensity. “You are walking away because you are a coward.”
His eyes snap to your lips and again to your eyes. So fast as if it didn't even happen. He stares at you and takes a step back. He turns around and walks away.
“You are a coward, Jake. Admit it. You don't love me enough. Not enough to stay, not enough to give us a chance.” He stops. “Everything you said was a lie. You are a liar. And I loved you, Jake. I dreamt of us.”
“Don’t say that.” He says without turning away. His right hand turned into fist.
“Why, truth hurts you? I thought—”
You must be hallucinating. Your mind might be playing games on you. Or you might have completely lost your mind.
Because he closes the distance between you two at an inhuman speed. His hand is around your waist and the other is on your cheek. And he kisses you. So softly. Lightly. As if you might break. It took you a moment but you responded back, wrapping your hand around his neck, pulling him closer to you.
He lets go to look at you. He whispers, “Why do you always make me do the things I only dream about?”
He wasn't expecting you to answer because he kisses you again, passionately this time, hungrily, as if some countdown had started. You can't control your hands when they wrap around his neck. His grip tightens around your waist as he pulls you even closer. Your body flashed against his. His hand moves at the back of your neck, turning your head in desirable angles. When he stops, he doesn't step away.
His forehead is pressed against yours. “This is why I never wanted to meet you because I know how much I want you,” You can't look anywhere but his eyes. “Because I know you’ll never let me walk away. Because you shut my mind down and make my heart do crazy, crazy shit.”

Two Sides of the Same Coin
Note: Life hits me so hard so I decided to pour it into writing. I'm not sure with this though but I will just drop it and get back as soon as I can to continue haha. Please excuse my writing and messy grammar since English is not my mother tongue. I wish you could bear it and enjoy my writing.
Summary: Three years after the Duskwood tragedy... is it tragedy though or more like one of those memories which leaving the bittersweet after-taste in your life? Living the ordinary life without the hackerboy seems the best option so far, or you want the universe to pull you back and let you drown in the unknown and bizarre event like what happened in three years ago?
< Main | Next Chapter >
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: The Momentous Choice
It’s been three years after the incident which changed my life completely. It’s been three years after the bizarre event which is stained like a gum under my shoe that so hard to get rid of… or it’s just me who didn’t want—never want to get rid those memories of. It’s been three years after Duskwood. Three years, huh? Time flies so fast but the memories, the wounds, everything still stay the same. They said time will heal everything, but I think it depends with the condition too. Or am I the one who don’t allow my own self to be healed yet?
I’m not sure.
Three years has passed; everyone is still in the Duskwood, Phil got out from prison and Aurora is getting the popularity back. Only Rogers’ family moved out from Duskwood. Of course, it is understandable after everything that happened with their son. Hannah is also being better and better, Lily and Thomas keeps making sure with that. Hanson’s family seems like have so much sympathy after everything since they choose to let Hannah go just like that after the veracity of the story is revealed. And Jake…
“It’s time for you to let go, MC.” Jessy sips her cappuccino after saying those hurtful words. “I already buried my memories with Richy and I hope you do the same thing,” her tone is quite flat but her gaze is still showing grief. It doesn’t look like you move on already, Jess.
I can only serve her with the silence. The words I want to let out, it’s just clinging inside my throat and then disappear like thin air. She is not completely wrong and I hate the fact that she is absolutely right with this. It’s been three years already and my last interaction with Jake was kind of… not quite charming.
JAKE: MC. MC: Jake! Are you okay? What happened? Did you manage to hide? JAKE: MC. JAKE: Forget everything I just said just like how I will erase the conversation and everything between us. MC: Jake, what did you mean? This is not funny. JAKE: MC. JAKE: Take care.
JAKE IS NOW OFFLINE
I sigh, playing with the straw of my iced tea. I wonder what actually happened with him; after saying that he loved me, then in several hours he showed up just to end everything out of the blue. I want him to explain, but how could I? When his trace is no longer exist as if he’s never been here at all, as if he’s just an illusion I created to escape from Hannah’s case.
Thanks to Jessy and everyone, because if it’s not because of them that still remembering Jake… I really thought I already lost my mind by creating a hallucination which helping me to investigate Hannah. I really almost lost myself when he erased everything like it was nothing, till the point I was in the state that will do everything just to find him and ask him to explain everything, or even kick his ass so hard for leaving me like that.
I tried so hard to find his trace, hell… I tried really hard. I searched from everything just to look for the glimpse of him even it’s just as tiny as the dust. But not even a little particle could I find and reach with fingertips. What did I even think, I should realise to trace back a hacker isn’t that simple; especially when even the FBI is involved. I should just praying to God for making him still breathing well and no harm laying on him.
I chuckle and of course my sudden chuckle makes Jessy flinched, making her to look at me worriedly. “It’s just funny,” I said as I sip my iced tea; answering her question even though she didn’t say it out loud. “How a short encounter can make me stress for years.”
It’s been a while since I have long conversation with Jessy. She took her days off and begged to pay me visit and here she is, completely sleeping deeply next to me in my small apartment after we spent our weekend for whole day. After what happened with Richy, she’s been through a lot but then she still choose to keep staying in Duskwood and opening flower shop. It’s just a typical of the angst story I used to read when I was in high school, but if it’s the best for her… then I couldn’t complain.
While she is sleeping so deep, here I’m next to her staring at the ceiling above me. My mind is wandering to somewhere I shouldn’t pay attention with. It’s been so long, but why I couldn’t erase it all like he did? I get up from the bed and walk to my desk, getting something out from the drawer. I’m looking at the thing on my hand, the old scratches on its screen, I smile dryly. I turn on my old phone, the mute witness that looking at everything I’ve been through and that include with what happened in Duskwood. All of the conversations I had with them are inside here, except for Jake. Even the screenshots I took from our last conversation also gone like it’s another of my illusion.
I’m searching everything inside my old phone, checking if there is something I miss out; gallery, message, even the email… but nothing. The email I used to send to Jake is also disappeared and of course Hannah’s cloud which used to be attached on my phone, but that’s also no longer there. He is completely gone. I take a deep breath as I turn my old phone off and put it back to the drawer.
There is nothing good to stay in the past; I need to move on like Jessy said… like Jessy also tries to do. I need to put everything behind. After all, I have job to be taken care of. Life as a journalist is enough to keep me busy and put my mind away from everything.
But it’s hard when I’m walking down the street, smelling the delicious smell from the Chinese restaurant across the street. It’s hard when I’m watching the Ghostbuster’s DVD that I borrowed from my colleague. It’s hard when I find a man with black hair and hold myself to not stare at them for hoping one of them is you. It’s really hard.
It’s hard when the sun is setting and the moon is above our head; when you told me about the farewell, that day when you decided to leave that is also the day that you left with half of me. The day when the concrete of our soon-to-be-home became collapsed as easy as the ocean waves crushed the little girl’s fragile sandcastle.
“God, you might be sick of hearing this,” I snickered. The night breeze is brushing my cheeks, playing with my hair while the cold of night didn’t even bother me at all. “But I miss him so much. Jake, do you even miss me like I do?” I whispered as if hoping the breeze will take my words to the air, make it flying to every corner of this world and then reach him and to his heart.
