While he was getting the military introduction you were setting up in the lab taking a look at your avatar then looking at your brothers you missed tommy but atleast jake was here

While he tried to kill the many animals you stopped him by saying “this isn’t the marines Jake were in a different planet and were not superior here okay?”

Then neytiri came in at saved y’all’s asses and went to the village when tsu’tey and some other hunter of the clan came you couldn’t help but stare he was very attractive

When you were in the home tree there were all less rough with you like they were Jake

And instead of neytiri teaching you there was it was tsu’tey you grew close to him fond of him and even loved him

Now of course Jake knew he was your brother so he teased you about it every single day and you swear your goona cut his eyes out but you teased him abt neytiri

Tsu’tey took you somewhere the night u became one of them he knew it was wrong he as supposed to marry neytiri but his heart tugged at you and he took you to a different way they see ewya and mated with you

Okay now the war you all fought hard and long you tried to save tsu’tey but he told you “ewya has called me home my love she will one day too” and he died

Now Jake was your rock your armor so you cried to him for days weeks until u felt mood swings, throwing up on hunts with neytiri then she took you to her mother “you are with child both of you” you and neytiri looked at each other crazy but started laughing

You gave birth a few weeks after neytiri but it wasn’t one baby after you thought u we’re done the pain came right back and it was another child a boy and a girl

So you raised your children along with jakes you were silly fun and other things

When you all had to leave your children had always been curious people so they were excited to meet new people and new ways

But it didn’t go as planned Ronal grabbed you sons tail and you snarled at her Jake grabbed your shoulder as a way of saying STFU

But as Jake was hard in his children you were always there for your children and his they came and cried to you if he was being to harsh or too cold you told them don’t worry about it and once they slept you would find your brother

Your brother been afraid of you since your were kids and he still is even if he is tutok mato so you told him off enough to wake up the camp his wife heard nodding at your words and Jake just sat there silent bc he knew you would fucking kill him if he talked back

But you would all have play date and take the children to be children besides Jake treating them like soldiers

When Neteyam got shot you saved him just in time sending Lo’ak to get things from the sea that could help him

Jake never let you forget that he cherishes you and thanks ewya for you every single day because not only did you save his child you saved him

I wanted to share some more additions to THIS post (my favourite piece of Cornley lore/meta ever) but the post itself is getting a bit messy and all over the place so I've condensed it all into this post! 

The BBC offered a university drama group with a history of things going wrong, a spot on their main broadcasting service and despite them driving a ship through their studios, setting the set on fire, fighting with BBC crew and having to call an ambulance, they invited them back MULTIPLE TIMES.

Here are some theories:

My original tags - If you only take the BBC broadcasts as canon, what were they thinking? even with Max’s relative/s in the BBC nobody questioned it? what was max going to do if they didn’t give them the spot? Did Max have blackmail on his aunt, or did she just love him too much to deny him? where was the rest of the BBC? why did nobody step in to stop them? Could you argue the BBC are trying to produce a comedy show by using Cornley who are actually trying but marketing it as a comedy show?

@starship-ranger-bug ‘s tags - I personally love the idea of the BBC being like ‘okay don’t tell the actors but we’re going to market this as a comedy show’. also when you take into account that the BBC blacklisted them after ppgw so they had to hijack Christmas carol gives so many hilarious impressions ‘they absolutely just did something illegal but viewers thought it was planned and loved it so I suppose we should let them keep going?’

me - cornley forcefully took a spot on the BBC and they were just like ‘sure! come back!’ and just gave them more rules like use spoons instead of knives to try and do damage control

@personinthepalace ‘s tags - also in the nativity the BBC absolutely added those fire alarm drills just to annoy Chris. ‘adds to the comedy’ they say to themselves. also after Christmas carol I think Sandra’s aunt talked to the BBC which helped them get play of the week started on the BBC. they still get letters of complaints though so bet it would be from people who think its an actual bad show despite it being marketed as a comedy show. Also I love that they forced them to use spoons instead of knives but 100% did not expect for Robert to bring an actual gun. 

me - Is the BBC just run by relatives of cornley?  I love the image of the BBC slowly coming to love CDS and just having teams ready to do damage control trying to let them do what they want bc they fell a bit in love with the one who smiles at the audience or the one who always ends up as the animal or-

Okay here I am on my new blog bc this site hates me !!

Alright so of course I'm going to self ship with Chuuya. We have ehhhhhh I dunno...anywhere from 2-4 kids (dont judge me, I can't say no okay??) All of them daughters, but that doesnt really make a difference lol

I think the holidays would be a little hectic, but the good kind of hectic ya know? Kids are all over the place bc they had hot cocoa and Chuuya is on hos second glass of wine (which we all know he doesn't hold his liquor well) BUT apart from the chaos I think christmas time would be one of our families most treasured holidays. The kids are home and we get to spend more time together. Movie nights every night until christmas day and of course there is music on through out the day.

I also headcanon that Mori completely adores mine and Chuuyas kids so I'm sure that a lot of time would be spent with him and the "important" members in the mafia

Don't think you're pulling a fast one on that 2-4 shit. Bc Chuuya sure as hell ain't pulling anything out ;D

Chuuya finds a chocolate laced wine to drink through the twelve days of Christmas not clickbait??? Ok but also he does like, s'mores flavors and anything that might remotely remind him of "chestnuts roasting on an open fire" vibe when he reads the wine label 😂 Suddenly there's a new bottle every time he and the girls go to the store. Not a wine drunk aunt but pretty close to it.

Speaking of the girls- All. Four. Of. Them. Look. JUST like Chuuya. So there's no getting out of family photos done up in cringy themed pjs that then get sent out to the other mafia heads. (Mori gushes and wants to know where you guys got them so he can put it on Elise) But also just like Chuuya and the girls are so disgustingly cheerful that it spreads to the others?

Especially the Black Lizards. Tachihara is the worst with the four of them and like the dumb uncle meets worry wart older brother. While thoroughly loving all four of them but constantly getting bullied by four very short girls that scream like Chuuya. While Gin and Higuchi are semi functioning aunts who lavish the girls in girly things (soaps, lotions the whole deal) Honestly it just ends up a giant mixing pot of a family holiday dinner with Mori and Koyo and all of the Black Lizards. Ngl it's kinda cute even for Chuuya

Certifiably one child...a cute little boy that is just so blond and blue eyed looking Gerber baby with those dimples and big smile. Ok fine, maybe a second one. Maybe. But I require help with that if he wants a second one.

As for holidays? I'm certain from Halloween on this man is annoying as fuck. Just- So insufferable and excited about everything that I'm starting to wonder if he's just a 6'3 child???

That being said, Francis is really present. He's engaged from every cup of cocoa to every light on the tree and each stocking hung with care. These are the only activities he won't let money help with. Nothing needs to be looking like Martha Stewarts asshole as long as we did it together. The ornaments a little low on the tree bc the kid(s) are short? That's perfect. Are the lights outside hung crooked bc everyone was bitching to their father about cold hands while doing it? He thinks its the best light display in the entire neighborhood. Nothing feels more like home to him than Christmas and it's really his favorite time of year. The gifts and money are nice. But he doesn't really care about that. More often than not he's the kind that just is standing there watching his kid(s) not trying to cry every time they do anything. It's kinda endearing of him even if he is a 6'3 dork

During the school year, Jackie was left with a lot of free time during the day. More specifically, she had a lot of free time to spend with Jan. With her twins in second grade and her youngest in preschool, there were still plenty of more practical things she could have the nanny do, but she had much more fun pampering and pleasuring her.

The two women watched the elementary school bus, then the preschool bus, drive away. They waited a beat, then walked back to the mansion just down the road, fingers intertwined the whole way.

“Now, my darling, what would you like to do today?” Jackie asked, looping her arms around Jan’s waist and pulling her into a deep kiss. “I, for one, would love to spoil my princess,” she cooed.

“You spoil me so well,” she hummed in a soft, flirtatious voice. “I trust you to pick the day’s activities,” she smiled, pressing kisses along her jaw.

“A task I won’t take lightly.” She tilted her head as she mulled it over. “Why don’t you change into a bathing suit? And maybe something to throw over it,” she added with a grin. “Figure we can go to the spa, take a dip in the infinity pool, then get some massages, let you get all nice and pampered.”

Jan preened at the suggestion. “Mm, that sounds perfect.” She reluctantly backed off from Jackie, then darted up the stairs to get changed, already in the midst of tearing up her closet by the time Jackie joined her.

The older woman chuckled in amusement. “Darling, if you can’t find anything to wear, we can just buy something new.”

So, the first stop was at one of Jackie’s favorite boutiques, where Jan picked out a dark purple bikini that just barely covered what it needed to, a silky white cover-up, and an oversized pair of sunglasses. She linked arms with Jackie, grinning broadly as she wore her new outfit outside of the boutique and Jackie’s driver took them to the spa.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been in an infinity pool before,” Jan remarked, setting her cover-up and flip-flops on one of the lounge chairs with Jackie’s large purse before the two of them eased into the heated water. “It’s so nice.”

“Only the best for you,” Jackie cooed, her arms wrapping around Jan’s waist and resting on her ass. “Especially when you’re looking as good as this,” she purred, backing her against the wall and kissing down her neck. Her fingers drifted down and forward, moving between her thighs. “You know, it’s not very crowded…”

Jan let out a soft, pleased sigh, her heart skipping a beat. She bit her lip, nodding. “No one would notice,” she replied, both agreeing and giving permission.

Jackie smirked, her fingers dipping underneath Jan’s bikini bottoms, two fingers rubbing small, firm circles against her clit. “You still have to stay quiet, though. Gotta be a good girl for Mommy,” she whispered, her lips ghosting along the shell of her ear.

“I will,” Jan assured in a breathy whisper, but quickly bit down on her lip when Jackie eased one finger, then another into her. She hid her face against the crook of her neck, whimpering softly as her hips rocked in tandem with her thrusts.

“Good girl,” she praised as she twisted her wrist and curved her fingers, her free hand on Jan’s waist, feeling each time her body jerked forward and noticing when the movements became more erratic. “You gonna come for Mommy, princess?”

Jan picked her head up, nodding and looking at her with wide eyes. “Can I?”

“Of course, baby. Go ahead.”

She barely stifled her moans as her hips snapped forward, gripping onto Jackie tightly as she came, then relaxing against the wall as she caught her breath. “Fuck…”

Jackie couldn’t fight the grin of smug satisfaction as she pulled back enough to admire her handiwork. “There we go, such a good girl for me,” she praised, leaning back in to press a kiss to her forehead. “Whenever you’re ready, we can shower off and head into the spa.”

Jan nodded, allowing herself to relax into the water for a bit longer before deciding to wrap it up and move onto the spa. Of course, showering consisted of some more fooling around - neither of them could help themselves - but luckily the spa took walk-ins when it came to their more elite clientele.

“Good afternoon, Kendra,” Jackie greeted warmly, “how’s college going?”

“Pretty well, always nice to see you, Mrs. Cox. Shall I book your usual for you and your guest?” she asked, cocking her head towards Jan with a knowing smirk.

Jan beamed, looping her arms around Jackie’s waist while she waited for her to confirm and pay.

Jackie loved being able to pamper Jan, the two of them relaxing through the facials, manicures, pedicures, deep tissue massages. From beginning to end, they had spent nearly four hours at the spa, but left feeling utterly refreshed.

“That was amazing, baby,” Jan cooed as they got in the backseat of Jackie’s Porsche. “You spoil me so much, makes me feel so special,” she hummed, resting her head on her shoulder.

“Of course, princess,” Jackie cooed, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “I love spoiling you, and you deserve it, if nothing else, for taking such good care of the kids.” She instructed the driver to take them home, keeping Jan close the entire ride.

“I really do try to,” Jan assured with a grin, “I love those kids, Jackie.”

“And they love you. They see you as another mom to them… or at the very least, a cool aunt that lives with them and is extra close with their mom.”

As the car pulled up to the mansion and they went inside, Jan looked at Jackie curiously. “Do you think we’ll ever tell them? Maybe when they’re old enough to understand?”

Jackie hesitated, mulling it over as the two of them walked up to the bedroom. Truth be told, she would announce her feelings for Jan to the world if she could, the last thing she felt was shame when it came to her. But the risk was far too great. “I think one day we’ll be able to tell them, though I don’t know how you can explain to a kid that Mommy and Daddy only love each other as friends and Mommy’s actually in love with their nanny.”

Jan’s eyes widened and her mouth hung part way open. “You’re in love with me?” she asked, voice barely above a whisper.

Realizing what she’d said, Jackie’s cheeks flushed red. She swallowed thickly as she nodded. “This isn’t exactly how I wanted it to come out,” she admitted with a dry laugh, “but there’s no use in denying it, I really am.”

Instead of a verbal response, Jan threw her arms around Jackie and kissed her deeply, holding her as tight as she could, not pulling back in the slightest until she had to come up for air. “I love you too,” she breathed out against her lips. And even if they never told another soul, it would be worth it as long as they had each other.

Hey Jon fan who became Jonsa anon here, I would definitely love to share how I became jonsa, sry for the late reply, IRL is busy lately, also I fear this will be very long answer. So I binged watched GOT till s5 bfr S6. Even though I am Jon fan I have never hated Sansa or other starks. I liked sansa in s1 but started stanning her when she played ppl around her with the whole 'I am loyal to my beloved Joffrey' thing. I never knew so many ppl underestimated her strength & smartness till I joined the fandom. During s6, I knew ppl were shipping Jonsa. There were many articles, videos abt it but I didnt. Not even when R+L was revealed bcs I always saw them as siblings. But I admit kit & sophie had chemistry. Some of their scenes were filmed weirdly & made me all👀 ( especially that s8 feast scene convinced me abt jonsa - Dany love triangle lmao)

But s7 happened & poor jon lost all of his personality. Jonerys was very very cliche for me. I couldn't believe this was GOT, felt like CW show. They had no development, interacted for 2 episodes but we were told they loved eachother so much. Kit & Ec's nonexistant chemistry didnt help either.

Most consider them ice/fire, central romance but I dont. For me Jon is a hero and Dany isn't. She suffered at the start of s1 but after? I noticed all her crimes bcs I binged watched the show within very short time. Final nail in coffin was the racist mhysa scene. I am WOC and watching white women worshipped by POCs filled me with rage. I couldn't believe ppl saw that and thought this person is a hero? How? And then they showed my fav character who mercy killed Mance, falling for this person who's solution to any problem is let's burn it? They are foils, stand for opposite things.

Then s8 aired & Jon got worst ending possible. I started looking for fics so in character Jon could get some happy ending.  Ngl initially I read both Jonsa & Jonerys fics. But I didnt like how Jonerys authors treated Jon. He was so ooc, used as sperm donor to create targ lookin babies, burned all starks alive to keep perfect queen Dany happy 😂, supported targ restoration, was happy living in KL/Essos etc. I stopped reading them. Jonsa fics though? Perfection❤! Jon who like canon chooses starks, gets to take stark name, feels happy at his home in Winterfell, is KITN or consort to Sansa. Queen Sansa also gets a brave, gentle, strong high lord who is as good looking as her ( she doesn't need to end up with a ugly abuser for 'growth' lol), She can stay at Winterfell without the fear of someone using her for her claim.

All this made me realize that Jon and sansa are perfect fit for each other. Their dreams match. They were right in front of my eyes but I never even realized it. I read a lot of fics in few months, rewatched their scenes, got convinced abt pol!jon, then read metas, ended up reading the books too. I am hopeful we will get canon Jonsa in books bcs both Jon and sansa deserve to be happy

So yeah this is how I started shipping jonsa. It is only Jon and sansa ship that makes sense when we consider their canon characterization and overall plot of the series. That's what I meant by previous ask abt ppl shipping Jon with his abusers like Dany and ygritte accusing us of self-inserting into Sansa and not caring abt Jon & his dreams, when anyone who likes and understands Jon at all would know he can never be happy by living like wilding with ygritte or becoming targ restoration supporter for his crazy aunt after she burns Kl in books. Jonsa is the ship for ppl who love & care abt Jon and Sansa, as they are in the canon.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share that! I love hearing about how people got into Jonsa/interpret the characters/their dynamic. Your experience is similar to a number of others I’ve heard. 

Once you see Dany for what she is, it’s impossible to go back and being force fed how wonderful she is by characters who would have known better was nauseating. I’ve heard several people who binged the series after it ended say it was obvious where this was all going by s2, so I think what the cast/crew said in interviews/all the marketing really shaped how fans thought. In a few years when people watch it I don’t think any of them will be surprised by her turn, although I know they’ll be angry at the sidelining of the Starks/treatment of Jon. I would scroll through twitter to see the general reaction to things as s8 was airing and everyone was mad about them making Jon defend Dany burning KL. Abhorrent. @visibilityofcolor wrote about Dany and the white savior trope (link) and @sayruq has an anti daenerys tag with lots of posts about the racism in her story (link) as does @jonskory who is also a jonsa! (link). 

The feast scene in s8 was definitely suspicious. There was absolutely no reason to include that except for Jonsa. I remember freaking a few people out by pointing to that. It’s one of the things that makes it feel like there was weird editing to alter the story as much as possible after shooting because Dany and Sansa already had the political tension, she’d definitely make a move to protect Jon, why throw in the jealousy? They should have cut that unless they were going to deal with it later. It was such a tropey scene I had people who hate Jonsa freaking out the show was going to deliver. 😂

I’ve been so curious how jxnerys shippers wrote post canon fics (I mean, Jon killed her), but burning all the Starks alive...👀 I know they routinely wish/write death for Sansa, but yikes. The thing that haunts me about s8 is Jon because Sansa, while I wish she had gotten better writing, was still within her previous characterization, but Jon...unless you use the pol!jon interpretation, being banished is only the beginning of his nightmare. How is he supposed to live with himself if he was genuinely trying to make a Targ restoration happen? I really care a lot less about him having sex with Dany/believing himself in love (I mean, he did think he loved an abusive/violent girl before) than I do about the idea that his loyalty/motivation was changed from the Starks/protecting them. That’s what’s unforgivable to me, so pol!jon is the only way I can deal. 

I love post s8 fics too because there are so many ways you can followup the events of s8/interpret the emotional story to fill in the gaps, and give Jon and Sansa the ending they deserved. Their matching dreams is such a beautiful touch. Love that. One of my favorite post canon fics is Homecoming because the moment when Jon breaks and confesses his feelings is just...perfect.

Entire arc of one of my dumbass characters

Hey, so I finished planning out the complete story arc for one of my characters, Vlad. I wanted to share it here so people can tell me what they think. Keep in mind, I’m going to be summarizing stuff as briefly as possible. So while it’ll be long, I’ll still be skirting over some things so that we’re not here for a million years (so in other words, with certain things, you’ll just have to nod and go along with it). If anyone has any questions afterwards, I can make a second post clearing stuff up.

Vlad Dracula the 628th aka Lucian Dracula

Before we begin, there’s 2 things we need for context. One is the Old Customs. These are old rules set by the first Vlad Dracula. The whole “descents of Dracula” thing, where a new Vlad is named every other generation and is destined to do something big for vampire kind, is included in said Customs. The rest is basically a set of toxic rules that only traditional vampire families (like the Draculas) follow. Two, the previous Vlad, Grandpa Drac , ended an ongoing war between vampires and humans a few centuries ago. Vampires are still not high in public opinion, but at least they’re no longer hunted for sport

Anyways, let’s briefly cover the backstory for emo boi, who wasn’t always called Vlad. At age 5, he was picked out of all his cousins to be the next Vlad. Problem was that Vlad and his parents were the few Draculas who didn’t believe in the customs, so of course controversy. Vlad’s aunts and uncles would act abusive to him and his parents, and his cousins would be rewarded for beating him up. Most notably he became a favourite target of Wolfgang, the largest and strongest of the cousins.

When he was 14, Vlad’s parents decided fuck this noise, and they and Vlad moved away and cut ties with the family. Vlad however had developed terrible anxiety problems, and never developed proper social skills. He started a relationship with Mina around this time, but this only helped a bit. While Mina cares about Vlad and goes out of her way to help, she’s simply not knowledgeable about how to help him properly, and often (unintentionally) ends up being an enabler

Vlad’s antisocial behaviour only worsened as he got older, and eventually he took to confining himself in his room as what happened throughout his childhood made it impossible for him to enjoy much. He developed a strained relationship with his parents, and one day he ended up storming out of the house after an argument. Unfortunately, Vlad ended up being kidnapped by vampire hunters and shipped off to be killed in an old vampire hunting ground. He’d find out later that his parents were killed not long after his departure during a struggle with hunters

He was shipped up to a town in Belgium, where he escaped confinement and hid out in some woods. This is where he met Phoenix and Chronos after they were assigned to get him to leave. With nowhere to go, and hunters still hinted at being in the area, Vlad ends up tagging along and eventually joining the group.

At first, Vlad acts like a massive asshole to everyone, especially Phoenix, who’s outgoing and confident nature reminds him a bit of Wolfgang. The fact that Vlad clearly isn’t good at fighting doesn’t help as he constantly lets his insecurities get the better of him. He tries to hide the fact that he has anxiety issues, only to have one in the middle of a job, nearly getting himself killed.

Eventually, he decides to try running away, only to be intercepted by Phoenix. Phoenix calls Vlad out for being an asshole, for hiding things from people, and for taking his issues out on everyone else. The two have an emotional argument where they both open up about each other’s backstories and whatnot. After they’ve settled down, Phoenix finally gets through to Vlad that his life’s not going to get better the way he’s going on now. Determined to help, she offers to be his friend. And thus begins the saga of these two being chaotic dumbasses together

Of course, while Vlad agrees to return and try to better himself, it’s a slow process. He’s hesitant to seek help from anyone but Phoenix, and being around characters like Chronos and Athan who criticize him causes his insecurities to resurface. Nonetheless, he sticks to it and learns how to fight from both Phoenix and Athan. Athan also teaches him how to play to his strengths during a job.

In terms of confidence, Phoenix definitely starts to rub off on Vlad,, and more of his personality starts to come out. They still bicker but they also joke around and have angsting sessions where they just scream about shit.

Vlad’s development into being more confident, however, starts regressing when the family gets involved. During a period where the mercenary group is split up, Vlad visits Mina and is invited back to the Dracula household. It seems that he needs to sort things out regarding his parents’ wills.

Taking Mina and Trix with him, Vlad gets to relieve a bunch of uncomfortable childhood memories, and of course his family aren’t happy to see him (Wolfgang being quick to go back to antagonizing him). Some members of the family want to ignore the wills and claim things like Vlad’s house as their own. In order to have his parents’ wishes respected, Vlad ends up having to physically fight Wolfgang.

And Vlad wins... after he melts Wolfgang’s face off in the sun, and he himself looses a goddamn arm in the process

After Vlad wins, his aunts, uncles, and cousins all seem to hide away, not wanting to confront him. Grandpa Drac invites Vlad to join him for a drink, and there he explains why he chose Vlad to be, well, Vlad. Turns out Grandpa is evil as shit and actually tortured a bunch of people in order to end the war. And he also wants Vlad to overturn the old customs, so that vampires can start making progress to overcome other species (the rules kinda prevent you from slaughtering millions basically).

So, Vlad’s not exactly about that, so he tries to nope out of this, except uh oh, grandpa spiked his drink with magical vampire essence blood or whatever. Now Vlad has blood magic, which he later finds out was used throughout history to do some... pretty fucked up shit. Vlad of course isn’t immediately aware of this, and he’s still not over the fact he melted Wolfgang’s face off or that grandpa is crazy.

After weird meeting with gramps, Vlad gets approached by one of his cousins, Ludwig, who’s also Wolfgang’s younger brother. Ludwig invites Vlad for a night out a cafe, and there Vlad finds out that hey, abusive shit didn’t stop after he left. Basically, a lot of the cousins would aid in antagonizing Vlad bc that meant they were safe. Ludwig had always been picked on to some extent by his older bro, but after Vlad left, he became a favourite target. Plus the majority of the family have alcohol issues and shit, and tldr this entire family is fucked and somebody should trash all this and go back to the drawing board

Hey, here’s one bonus. It’s during his convo with Ludwig that Vlad actually reveals his real name to the audience, Lucian. And it’s only the first instance of him referring to himself as such.

On the way back, Ludwig and Vlad get caught up in chaos caused by Trix. During the struggle, Vlad accidentally unleashes blood magic, and passes tf out. After waking up, demanding answers from gramps, and getting the disturbing context behind the blood magic, Vlad immediately leaves and reunited with Phoenix and everyone else. However, the whole blood magic thing is causing some issues. Vlad has to drink more blood now, and he really doesn’t like using it knowing what it was previously used for. He also starts resenting sharing a name with someone who was idolized for all the wrong reasons.

He starts transitioning back into an asshole, and eventually he reaches out to fellow vampires Mina and Athan for help. Vlad’s doing pretty bad emotionally during all this, and is generally going through a lot. He starts making plans with Mina and Athan to somehow end this entire messed up situation, meanwhile he’s rapidly regressing in character development. He gets a couple kicks up the ass and starts to get better tho. The biggest wake up call is when his BFF Phoenix gets fucking possessed by an alien god for a couple hours, then runs away.

So, you know, a typical Friday night

At this point, Vlad, sorry , Lucian, kinda snaps. He rejects the name Vlad once and for all, and strictly goes by Lucian. He sets out to find Phoenix by himself, but is eventually joined by Athan and Mina, and later other characters. During the road trip to get to wherever tf Phoenix is, it’s the return of family drama. However, Lucian doesn’t seem to be quite bothered by it. He’s more set on getting his friend back, and he’s kinda over having this bullshit haunt him his entire life, and refuses to give it any power over him. Still, he, Athan, and Mina agree that it’s best to deal with this now so they don’t have to deal with it again later.

Gramps is still trying to go through with his plans, and Wolfgang wants some revenge on Lucian. But Lucian ain’t having none of this, calls the entire family out on the dumbassery , and, for extra effect, throws the book of old customs into the goddamn fire. He promptly curb stomps Wolfgang and just walks out to the amazement of everyone else. This apparently starts a little revolution where, one by one, the rest of his cousins (and some of his aunts and uncles) start leaving and starting their own lives.

Lucian’s character growth is more or less complete from here on. He still has his issues with insecurities and anxiety, but has started to give them less power over him and can now focus on the present. Which he kinda needs to do now bc oh no, BFF doing weird shit and everyone’s going crazy. He does start to use blood magic, but only in emergencies. He also has gets a chance to repay Phoenix for helping him by helping her. So... there’s that.

Oh yeah, he also decides that anyone who judges him can go fuck themselves and goes full goth. Thank you, good night!

Scorching Romance

I JUST FINISHED ONE OF THE BEST MANHWAS EVER AAAAAH

Length: 90episodes (pretty long but it’s worth it I swear)

Genre: Highschool romance

Quick summary:

‘Cursed girl who is constantly hot meets cursed boy who is constantly cold.’

Ok so:

Despite the ‘cursed’ parts we honestly don’t have magic running rampant in this place besides the fact that our two main characters genuinely feel really hot and cold to the point that Ember (the girl and hot one) can heat stuff up and give burns with body temperature, but mostly it is set in our normal universe. The start of the whole thing is pretty slow-paced with me not really that invested, but not turned off by anything. It gets reaaally action packed eventually and I nearly cried ahahahah.

The author is genius. The characters are honestly not one-dimensional, no matter what the story tries to trick you into believing, and the best part is that they introduce sooooo many characters in but by the time the story ends, there are virtually no loose ends and you are invested in all their stories. They don’t take advantage of misunderstanding nearly as much as they could realistically actually do and it will make you squeal!

I would say the overall theme of the entire thing is forgiveness and owning up. The amount of times someone said sorry for doing something awful and I genuinely believed them, because that ‘sorry’ just held all that weight.

Ten outta ten would recommend!!!

Spoilers from this point on! (I rant about my feelings on it down here)

OKAY SO THEY ARE SO CUTE I SHIPPED THEM SO MUCH AND AAAAAAAAA

I loved the dynamic between them and I love how they ended up being really truthful to each other and Aspen didn’t lie even though he thought about it :...) they’re so sweeeet

I looked at the chapter number when their curses broke the first time and was like waiiiiit. I then also wondered whether the rest would be just fluff scenes (not that I’m complaining) but the author really said “BUCKLE UP IT GONNA GET SERIOUS”

The author put so many references to little things that happened and tied everything together so nicely??? Also Trevor, idk when I started rooting for you but you were real. You and Moxie should get together. (You will never make it as a kpop idol because your bullying scandals) 

I think overall, I really liked how it all came together and ended?? They even had that Rocky dude go with someone else??

The forgiveness/repenting aspect of the entire thing was really amazing. Aspen kept saying ‘sorry’ for so much at the start and throughout, yeah he was genuine but he was also overusing it. Later on, ‘sorry’ became such a powerful word that was used in such serious cases, like when Harry’s grandma cursed Ember or when Monica burned the place down.

Can we talk about Harry???

HARRY is BEST BOY

At the start, even though I knew that it was Aspen and Ember I was like ‘does Harry sorta like Aspen though?’ and low-key shipped it but then he said ‘he’s too good for you�� and there was the whole “I DO NOT LIKE ASPEN” when being bothered by Ember and I think that is actually really sweet. We never get the answer to why he sticks with Ember, well, at least not explicitly, but we definitely know why. 

1. He and Ember were childhood friends, he saw her deteriorate to such a serious state and is willing to stick with her because they’re friends (serious state being both her heat and her temper as he sees how she did actually attempt to be nice to people only to be backstabbed)

2. She’s been there for him when very few people have. When Aunt Monica left him Ember was right next to him, that makes them very close and also feel like they’ve been through a lot, and so are willing to stick to each other more.

Harry not having any romantic interests in Ember or Aspen just makes him so much more appealing, he teases them, is there for them, and we can see how amazing he is and without having any romantic unerlying agendas! Love fuels a lot of stuff in this manhwa but so does platonic love and I love that for him. I also don’t think Megan deserves him, because she is too immature and honestly, still hasn’t figured out love yet. (Especially with the ‘buying him ice cream was worth it’) like GURL have you SEEN his HOUSE he does not need a sugar parent. Even until the end she eats ice cream with him, which just shows she can’t open up to him and she was honestly pretty childish thoughout the whole thing. Either way I love how the author baited us several times with Harry for us all to be like ‘Could it be??’ and then ‘I knew it.”

AMBER AND ASPEN”S RELATIONSHIPPPPP

I love how the whole thing played out to be honest. At the start, I didn’t like Ember’s attitude, or Aspen’s attitude but they both grew so much as people and their character growth through was just so amazing! You could see so many parallel’s where Aspen stands up for himself, where Ember is more restained, it’s *chef’s kiss* amazing!

One of the best bits was when Aspen couldn’t bring himself to lie to Ember, which was what I feared. It seemed like the worst misunderstanding ever but Aspen managed to trust Ember enough and vice versa, showing how far they’ve come. The two of them are now able to banter and converse freely, which both of them trusting in their love and relationship so much! 

Aspen trusting Ember was the bit thing I think, if he couldn’t trust Ember they would keep having these issues, but Ember had grown to be more trustworthy and Aspen had grown to be stronger and have better self-confidence.

At episode 64 or smth where Ember’s curse broke and I thought ‘are they going to have another 30 chapters of just fluff?” (not that I’m complaining), and they didn’t, but the fluff they did have was so cute!!! Also when Ember collasped and hugged Aspen after ‘faking’ a relaspe *sobs* it was so cute :.)

This next part will be a collection of little observations I found (there are probably still more) that I though were super cool!

1) Aunt Monica’s cigareete. We see her throw it as a little thing like a (I’m leaving/I’m outta here) thing when we first find out that she was Harry’s aunt, then we later find out that Harry’s grandma cursed Ember because of a fire from a cigarette butt from him. At that point no one realises what happened yet. Then she has an epiphany when some person from some car throws at her when it’s all dramatic (I thought that was Lucifer or someone going to burn her originally but it was just a random person) and then we find out it was all her! We even find out that the fire happened on the day of her leaving and no one realised! Anyways...

2) Hypnosis. Monica says in her little ‘angels club’ thing that they must wear sunglasses all of the time lest they hypnotise people. I read that, realised that Lucifer was from there, then went ‘wait a second...’ because Lucifer hypnotised Moxie!!! Several times!!! Cool easter egg I love

3) Remembering things. Aspen didn’t remember Monica from when he was so young, only his mom did, because Aspen was 1. Young and 2. Monica didn’t have much of an impression on him. I like it when author’s decide how much people can remember because let’s face it, even when we’re not children we don’t remember what we ate yesterday morning. Also, Ember not remembering that Monica told Harry to think of her as his mom. Same logic, Ember was young and it had waaaay more of an impact on Harry than anything. More than that, Monica left the next day and it would seem like an irrelevant detail technically.

4) Names. I love how they actually tied in names with meanings, it made it so easy to remember the names and it also made it not really weird and obvious (I’m looking at you J.K. Rowling) but integral to the story. One could predict what role they had in the story by their name. Rocky’s name particularly threw me off a bit, because I could tell it was based off the ‘Rocky mountains’ but was unsure of whether that was related to ‘cold water’ and just decided that it was, but it wasn’t as Aspen’s. Making him just ‘water’ was really nice because it gave us reason as to why Ember seemed to be helped by him but also make him just out of the picture as well.

5) The ice storage. Making the bodyguards faint and be cold too, especially wen they didn’t really coma (or at least, the second one) because we knew you had to go in involuntarily to no be in coma, very good detail.

6) Aspen still having the misunderstanding that Ember was up on that roof saving him to this day because it was never disputed. Ever.

There are totally loads more than that but I need to re-read it a few more times to spot them I suppose!

I think the only hing I want more content of in the whole thing is from Aspen’s dad. His guilt after what he heard his son and wife went through, his bonding with Aspen, him and his family, I feel like that was the only thing that was left unfinished and that I’d want to see more of. 

Finishing it off with a- how are you reading this part??? You must really like reading me ramble. Anyway, that might or might not be all from me on Scorhing Romance, I’ve been getting into manhwas lately and especially finished ones (bcs duh) so these rants might come in a bit more frequently but who knows.

Ninjago/Avatar au Pt 4

Basically just Book 1 (and I agonize over ships. Help)

(Also I finally finished watching A:TLA)

(Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 5)

Recap time:

So, we’ve got Maya, Garm, Lloyd, Kai, and Nya flying on Ultra and trying to get to the North Pole. Morro and Wu are pursuing them, as is Clouse, (who will be taking Zhao’s place) and, y’know, the entire Fire Nation. Koko has been abroad for about three years, looking for any information on the Avatar she can. Ray went off to fight with the other men from the Southern Water Tribe.

They have a lot of similar adventures to cannon: they go to the Southern Air Temple to see if that can jog any memories from Lloyds past lives. It doesn’t work, Lloyd just gets ahold of a glider (there are a lot of shenanigans with him learning how to use that) and adopts a Flying Lemur (give Lloyd all of the pets pls) who is just as mischievous as Lloyd. They take a detour to Kyoshi Island, and get a letter that Koko had left for them, saying that she was going to look for a mysterious library (wink). They also befriend one of the prominent members of the village, Cyrus Borg, and his daughter Pixal (she’s human), the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors (I know Cyrus would make a great Mechanist, but the idea of Kyoshi Warrior Pixal was too good and I fell in love with it. Also Samuraishipping is fantastic.)

They fight pirates, there are Spirit World shenanigans (btw the last fully realized Avatar before Lloyd, and his spirit guide is a human version of Firstborn.) and there might be a Jet stand-in if I can figure out a good character for that role. There’s a running gag of people automatically assuming that Maya and Garm are married, to their combined amusement and annoyance, until one of the kids will call one of them their parent, and the other one aunt or uncle (they’re family in this au. Fight me). Eventually they just start automatically answering anything that implies they’re a couple with ‘We’re siblings’.

Wu and Morro have been chasing them the whole way. Wu has been conflicted this whole time; he just found out that his brother is actually alive, and has been hiding for years, with the Avatar no less. And now he’s having to hunt both of them down (as well as his brothers wife and kids? Maybe?) when all he wants to do is, like, talk? Have a cup of tea and catch up maybe? Meanwhile Garm is thinking that Wu is completely on their father’s side, and that he won’t show them any mercy if he catches them.

Eventually they make it to the Northern Water Tribe. The chief is the former elemental master of ice. I shall call him Ice, bc I dont think he has an actual name. He’s a waterbender. And now we finally meet Zane, the white haired (human) wonder! (Heh, you all can probably guess where I’m going with this. Pls don’t kill me.) His unnamed mother died giving birth to his younger brother, Echo, when Zane was about two, and their father died a few years after that, and they were taken in by Ice, who was a close friend of their parent.

I don’t think I’ll make Zane a bender bc of the whole ‘moon spirit saved my life as a baby’ thing, but Echo is (purely for angst reasons. You’ll see what I mean in a bit). But this is the part where we get some sweet sweet Oppositeshipping! Zane isn’t betrothed to anyone, but even though he likes Kai, he’s constantly worried about his tribes safety and worried about what will happen when the Fire Nation shows up (he’s smart enough to know that they will show up eventually) and he’s scared of letting everyone down, and there are just a lot of issues there holding him back from being in a relationship with Kai.

Now, even though everyone knows that Lloyds the Avatar, they’ve kept it secret that Kai and Garm are firebenders (and Garms whole backstory) for obvious reasons. But you guys know that date that Zuko went on in Ba Sing Se? Pretend that they have that lantern thing in the Northern Water Tribe. Kai and Zane have that cute date and Kai lights the lanterns and its adorable.

But I bet you’re wondering who takes the place of krusty old Pakku? Krux of course! Who better to be the traditionalist old jerk waterbender teacher than the traditionalist old jerk boomer? (Acronix is there too. He’s not a bender. If I could find a way to work Futureshipping into this au, I totally would. I am still trying to figure out how to organically work it in) So Lloyd, Nya, and Maya are ready to learn some traditional waterbending (bc even though Maya is a really good waterbender, she literally just made up her own style. It would be like someone trained in acrobatics and dance, turning it into a form of combat, and entering a mixed martial arts tournament. She’s always wanted to learn some traditional waterbending) but Krux does the whole ‘boys do combat, girls do healing’ speech.

None of them like it much, but they go along with it and try to pull the whole ‘I’ll just show you what he showed me!’ thing and get caught. Krux demands an apology, and Maya is trying to keep Lloyd and Nya from blowing up at Krux, and she’s also trying to keep from blowing up herself (I hc that Kai gets his temper from Maya). Krux says something about how even if he wanted to teach them, clearly Maya, and Nya especially, don’t have what it takes to be real waterbenders, and Maya fucking snaps. She goes off on Krux, says some things about how she’s spent her whole life living in fear, and how she worked her ass off to hone her bending, and then she challenges him to go outside and she’ll show him what a ‘real’ waterbender can do.

Lloyd, Kai, and Nya are all a little shocked. It’s the first time they’ve seen Maya get so mad. Garm, who has known Maya for years, had been trying to subtly tell Krux to shut up (even though Krux was really pissing him off too, but someone needed to be the adult). Since Maya isn’t about to let Krux get away without a fight, Garm is just thinking ‘hoo boy, here we go’.

Krux tries to walk away from Maya, and then promptly gets his ass handed to him on a silver platter. He begrudgingly admits that, while Maya’s bending is chaotic and wild and sloppy, it is very powerful. But just bc she was able to beat him in one fight doesn’t mean that he has to teach any of them any waterbending. Maya says ‘fine! We just thought it would be a good idea for the damn Avatar to learn traditional waterbending, but I guess I’ll just go ahead and teach him more of my ‘wild, chaotic, sloppy’ waterbending style! And, I’ll teach anyone in this tribe who wants to learn from me, no matter who they are! And besides, it’s not like you can stop me.’

And so she did! Maya spends the next little while teaching not only Lloyd and Nya everything she’s come up with, but a bunch of the young waterbenders in the tribe learn from her too, as well as some older benders. Krux is less than pleased, but he isn’t looking for Round 2, so he keeps his mouth shut. Garm has been trying to lay low through all this. As low as possible for the father of the Avatar at least.

Meanwhile, Wu and Morro have been tracking them down diligently. At least, Morro is being diligent. Wu has been a little shit and trying to slow them down on purpose, and anytime they have to fight team Avatar, he keeps trying to use that to get his brother alone and get him to talk shit out dammit brother, where have you been and who are these people do I have niblings? cause you do and he’s a good kid even though hes trying to kill you right now explain that he is really, truly glad that he’s alive and well, and that no, he doesn’t actually want to catch him.

There wasn’t any type of assassination attempt on Morros life like there was Zuko, he either faked an injury so he could go on his secret ‘capture the Avatar’ mission during the siege on the Northern Water Tribe, or he wasn’t allowed to go and snuck away (with a little help from Wu either way). He does the same thing Zuko did with the underwater tunnel, but Morro doesn’t have firebending to break the ice. He has airbending (bet no-one saw that coming). I debated with myself for a long, long time if I should make Morro an airbender (they were nomads, and bending is inherited. It’s not that hard to believe that a few airbenders survived that way. I also love the airbender Ty Lee theory)

Wu figured it out when Morro was pretty young, and did everything in his power to both teach Morro, and keep his bending a secret. This played a big part in contributing to Morro’s need to be seen as worthy and deserving.

So anyways, the siege. It’s happening. Kai is being a bit of a grumpy angst lord (bc he wants to hold hands with a pretty boy) but gets assigned by Ice to guard Zane and Echo. Lloyd enters the Spirit World, Morro fights Nya and only wins bc he pulled out his secret airbending when she had her back turned. Meanwhile, Maya and Garm are helping fight of the Fire Nation (Maya with her waterbending, Garm with hand-to-hand combat) when Garm see’s Clouse going off to kill the Moon Spirit and follows him. Wu also follows them and gives Clouse the whole ‘we need the moon too’ speech.

Garm watches from the shadows as that confrontation takes place, but jumps in to fight the Fire Nation soldiers who came with Clouse at the same time that Wu does when he kills the Moon Spirit, and not only does he all-out firebend for the first time in a while (once he and Ray became more trusted by the Southern Water Tribe the blanket ban on their firebending was lifted, but it’s kind of a bad idea to excessively play with fire in a village that’s made almost entirely of ice and snow) he reveals his identity to everyone. He’s actually a little surprised that Clouse is surprised that he’s alive. He figured that Wu would have told everyone about his death being greatly exaggurated.

Clouse books it, Lloyd fuses with the Ocean Spirit to go wreck the Fire Nation, things are a teensy bit more awkward in the spirit-cave-pond-area-place with Garm and Wu being there together, but its overall just a somber moment.

And then, Zane becomes the new Moon Spirit. But not only do we have a sad Oppositeshipping good-bye kiss, we have a sad last hug ever between Zane and Echo. I made Echo a waterbender solely so it could be a terribly sad thing where anytime Echo bends he can feel his brother with him. It’s sad. There are tears (including from myself as I type this). Kai is comforted by Garm, which is basically confirms Wu’s incorrect suspicions that Kai and Nya and Maya are Garms kids and wife, and that they’re helping the Avatar (look, this gag is just too funny to me and I will keep it going as long as I can.)

When they leave the spirit pond, Wu tries to pull Garm aside to talk to him, but Garm still has no idea if he can trust Wu, and that means that the kids are super wary of him (they know that Wu and Garm are brothers) so all that really accomplishes is getting Kai to firebend at Wu’s face (btw, Kai firebending is a big deal. When he was a fairly little kid he accidentally firebended [firebent?] and Maya got burned. For Kai, firebending is the last thing he uses, not the first) and then grabbing Garm and Nya (whos giving an inconsolable Echo a piggy-back ride as he is still sobbing) and booking it. But not before Wu was able to slip a letter into Garm’s parka.

While all this is going down, Morro and Clouse had their little scuffle, but Morro has to airbend at one point to save his own skin, and not only does Clouse see, but quite a few mid-retreat Fire Nation soldiers see as well. Then Clouse gets killed by the Ocean Spirit.

Morro and Wu steal a raft and book it, since now one of them is a traitor and the other was just outed as an airbender. Krux and a group of people, both benders and non-benders, head to the South Pole to help them out. Echo is a part of this group; it’s what he knows Zane would have wanted to do. Team Avatar head out to find Lloyd an earthbending teacher, and Garm finds the letter from Wu. He’s scared to open it, and doesn’t for a while.

And now, it’s time to introduce a new character! See, back in the Fire Nation, the Firelord had been growing displeased with his son. Despite Wu’s best efforts, dear old dad had caught on to how much Wu disliked the war, and he figured it would only be a matter of time before something tipped Wu over the edge and he turned full traitor. That would leave him as a ruler with no heirs, and that wouldn’t do. So he secretly was searching for a good candidate to take the throne, preferably an orphan, who showed proficiency in firebending and could be moulded into a cut-throat living weapon.

He found what he was looking for in a young girl named Harumi. A firebending prodigy whose parents had both died in the war. And now that the Firelord learned that, not only did his younger son turn traitor in the North Pole and run off with his airbender adopted son, but his disgraced fool of an older son is alive and actively helping the Avatar, well, it’s high time the world saw just what his hand-picked heir can do.

— mikey was born and raised in winnipeg because i think it’s funny when characters are from winnipeg. if you’re from winnipeg i’m so sorry. definitely was born on the coldest day of that year ( so like some point in january )

— but because of those long, cold harsh winters, mikey found himself in a dance studio a lot. his aunt was a dance teacher and with rather absent parents who meant well but both had long hours at the local hospital, he spent a lot of time with her. he fell in love with dance pretty early on, always having a certain fluidity and grace even when he was young.

— random but he also played hockey up until he was like 16 or whatever because he’s canadian and i’m not stupid. it happened. he can still skate tho. in a slightly different life he probably would have been a pretty good figure skater huh 🤔🤔🤔 but anyway...

— also feel like it makes sense that he did gymnastics. and trained in classical ballet.

— he went to university of toronto for college, studying kinesology and dance, and danced at one of the prestigious studios in the city.

— his big break moment was when in his sophomore year at ut, he made it onto the second season of world of dance in early 2017 ( lets pretend that show has been on longer than it has bc i don’t want it to be the first season of it sldk ). he made it all the way to the finals and quickly become a fan favorite along the way. though he ultimately placed second and missed out on the million dollars, that was the beginning of many doors opening for him. ( for those who, might have the vaguest clue what i’m talking about : i’m highkey feeling like, michael dameski style which is an idea i had after i named him michael so don’t @ me for him having the same first name ).

— millions watched that show, including some prominent agents and scouts who were able to help him launch a professional dance career : something he never thought he’d see himself actually doing. his first big gig was making the dance team for some singer’s north american tour, and he ended up not returning to ut to pursue a professional dance career full time. since then he’s danced in a few music videos for some uber famous musican ( same one he went on tour with or not idk ?? also a wc ?? maybe ?? ), a tv show, couple movies, and other various gigs around the city. he works part time at a studio when he has time, and has been honing his choreography skills as well.

— he makes enough dancing, but certainly not enough to make him RICH. no, that come from an impromptu vlog he did while on tour with aforementioned singer. having already garnered a following from world of dance, he soon rose to youtube fame as well, something he never could have predicted. i feel like his videos are very just, day in a life with various random athletic challenges mixed in, and various workout and flexibility tips. he also still does pieces and duets with other prominent dancers just for fun too. his natural charisma and attitude really just carries him through easily lmao.

— mikey developed a bit of a habit of sleeping around when he left for college, all the newfound freedom was just intoxicating and well. he was hot so. it wasn’t like it was hard alsdkjf. that stuck around well into his blossoming dance career. nothing that was enough to be scandalous, but he made his way around. and then a year and a half into this unforeseen new life, he met matthew glass.

— he’d had a couple serious relationships before, one in high school, one his freshman year of college but neither of them could hold a flame to what he felt when he was with matt. perfection wasn’t something mikey believed in, but he almost did with what they had.

— it was like for over a year and a half he lived in this insane dream, and then mikey and matt broke up and he was devastated ( behind closed doors and with curtains pulled tightly shut ).

— he then proceeded to broadcast how perfectly fine he was doing by going back to his old ways and sleeping around obsessively, this time with very little regard as to how many headlines he was making. as far as coping mechanisms go, i guess sex is better than alcohol ?? not to say he wasn’t also drunk at times l o l.

— mikey gets around. has definitely been trying to forget matty with other warm bodies but honestly it’s not working

— very bi. very much does not care. if the world didn’t know he was before, it definitely does now lmao. he hasn’t come out in the sense he’s like posted a video about it and said “i’m bisexual” but it’s pretty obvious from the media and maybe he has gotten asked in interviews and has just shrugged and been like does it matter ?? i’m sorry he’s not the vocal bi ally we need. perhaps we will work on that.

— hasn’t dated anyone since matt bc he’s highkey lowkey still hung up on him but no one needs to know that right. outwardly, he’s very much the same : seemingly happy, but he’s a lot more careful with his heart and letting people close to him. if anything he’s become a bit of a two-way mirror, always seeing out but never really letting people see in, just what they want to see.

— probably goes without saying but extremely flexible. idk if any of you know who juuse saros is but apparently he can twerk in a split and i’m not saying mikey can but like. he just might be able to...

— straight up does not get cold. never wears more than a hoodie, probably danced shirtless in the middle of winter just fine. at least being from winnipeg is good for one ( 1 ) thing.

— he tends to be extremely underestimated as he comes across a bit dumb and generally has a pretty positive outlook on life which people confuse for him being naive when that isn’t the case. but he’s found he can use that it his advantage and that sometimes, people will tell him things they think he can’t understand but he hears and remembers everything. it’s helped him out of a few difficult situations before.

— live in the moment kind of dude. his motto is probably like : you just gotta know what you want to do next. i mean looking back on his life it’s been pretty crazy and that’s only solidified his outlook that like, you really can’t control too much. just let it go where it takes you.

— people do like him though and they like talking to him for whatever reason. generally has pretty trustworthy vibes but he’s more slippery than he comes across. he’s a selfish person at heart and always has his own best interests in mind, even if it doesn’t seem that way at first.

Teen Wolf S1 EP6 Part 1

Happy holidays!! My husband is still asleep, and so I Teen Wolf!!

Scott is chased around a parking garage presumably by the Alpha...fam, I am so confused. If the alpha wants Scott to be park of his pack or whatever, I don’t get his approach here? Is he trying to capture Scott to take him somewhere to safely reveal his identity/try to control him? 

Oh! It’s just Derek chasing him around, and they’re training? Derek’s testing him? All my questions remain about the Alpha’s intentions becuase if Derek feels this is how he must train Scott for survival (??) then I don’t know what is what. But Derek always looks hunky jumping around, slamming people into things, being grumpy and intense, so. 

Scott has a hissy fit at Derek who took time out of his busy schedule of...lurking around at the high school and moping around his burnt out husk of a house to begin his surprise teaching lessons. 

It is absolutely STUNNING to me that I ship Scott/Derek 0%. It has the setup to a mentor/mentee dynamic that is usually my kink, but I am just not feeling it with these two. I shock myself sometimes. 

Over in chez Argent, Scott and Allison hook up despite Scott promising Derek he’ll stay away from her! Until he can control himself! And because of her family of hunters! Lying to Derek seems like a surefire way to have something terrible happen to you.

Kate Argent shows up, so Scott hides in the closet. Kate is sinister AF in a compelling way. Like she scares me and is also a cool aunt and is very attractive, but from her sketchy/scary interaction with Derek and the way she’s clearly grooming Allison to be a hunter on Kate’s agenda, I know I’m gonna also hate her. It’s great! 

Scott flees Allison’s house once he gets the chance. Okay we’re almost ten mins into this ep and no Stiles? My lawsuit against MTV commences NOW!

The Alpha (?) chases Scott around and draws a symbol in the condensation on his car window. AGAIN I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT HIS GAME PLAN HERE IS??? 

Back at Scott’s house, Derek is ominously waiting for Scott in his bedroom in the dark. I am so worried about Derek. I feel like he wasn’t trying to be spooky or hilarious by scaring Scott this way. I feel like he genuinely had nothing better to do and was like ‘I deserve the darkness it matches my soul.’ 

Anyway, I swoon over Derek for most of the scene where he tries to get Scott to remember as much as he can about his encounter with the Alpha. He clams up real hard when the spiral comes up, and Scott makes some good points about how Derek really needs to give him the info & that the spiral means something since Derek buried his sister under one. Derek acts cagey and ominous but also somehow gentle and leaves. 

Those warnings from Netflix in the top left corner seem apt for Derek. 

At school the next day, Scott tries to avoid everyone. Stiles is finally involved! He’s angry at Scott for his dad’s injury. Scott informs Stiles that he’s gone to Derek for help and Stiles gets all huffy. 

He knows this ship is about to explode and he’s furious that Scott is having scenes with Derek without him! Stiles claims he thinks Scott is an idiot for trusting Derek (seriously why tho??) and he says he’s not speaking to Scott. 

This lasts for two seconds until Stiles whips around and asks what Derek said bc he can’t resist this tempting conversational topic. I mean if mere days (?) ago, a gorgeous, shirtless, poisoned werewolf was in your car with you for hours and then he told you that you might have to cut off his arm if you can’t get the antidote in time and then you save his life and you can’t get him out of your head, you too would put aside your differences with your friend to get the scoop. 

Stiles starts demanding details about when exactly Scott is going to see Derek again. He needs to ensure that he makes up for the lost screen time! Or it’s because Stiles has until the end of the day to teach Scott how to control his wolf? What? My thing made more sense to be honest. 

Over lunch, Allison reads aloud to Lydia from a book that talks about the first Argent hunters. Lydia is rudely unimpressed! “Your ancestors killed a big wolf. So what?” Terrible! 

Allison takes this in stride, bless her. She shows Lydia a picture of the werewolf from the book and Lydia gets really freaked as she clearly flashes back to what she saw outside the video store.

Back with Stiles and Scott, Stiles insists he is a “better Yoda than Derek.” The mentionitis is fantastic. 

The boys end up on the field with some stolen/borrowed heart monitor equipment. Stiles hypothesizing about how maybe the key to controlling the whole wolfing out thing rests with Scott learning to control his heart rate is swoony. Stiles is so funny and clever and *those eyes*. He proceeds to attack Scott with lacrosse balls and tells him not to get angry and to stay calm. This is really a scene I am watching. 

OH MY GOD JACKSON IS WATCHING FROM BEHIND THE BLEACHERS CRACKING UP, THIS SCENE IS ACTUALLY A BLESSING. 

Jackson is like ‘I don’t know why this is happening but LOL watching Scott get hit in the face with balls is a dream come true.’ 

BUT THEN SCOTT STARTS WOLFING OUT AND JACKSON IS LIKE WHAT IS THIS THE STEROIDS?? 

Scott says that the angrier he gets, the stronger he feels. Stiles declares that Derek is right because HE CANNOT KEEP DEREK’S NAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH.

Scott declares he can’t be around Allison because she makes him weak. I am confusion. Stiles is also like this is ridic. Scott makes the leap of logic that since Derek is always alone he has to be too? I mean, Derek’s entire family was murdered so I feel like this is not fair. Stiles insists that Scott won’t end up like Derek. THE AUDACITY OF THESE TWO. They don’t know if Derek has a full social calendar when they’re not around! Sure it certainly seems like Derek is alone and hot and angry and mysterious and living in a ruined husk of a house and his family was murdered years ago, but they ARE JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS. Get to know the guy, jeez.

I legit could not write a live commentary on AWAE 3x08 bc I was too nervous THE ENTIRE TIME

KA’KWET IS FINALLY HOME AND THANK GOD FOR THIS MILKMAN WHO HELPED BOTH OF OUR GIRLS ESCAPE FROM A PLACE OF OPPRESSION, TORTURE AND SORROW

I hate that the others in Ka’kwet’s tribe are in “civilised” clothes and not their traditional clothes but at least she’s home and that’s all that goddamn matters and I’m ready for Anne to lead the town in another rally against injustice and get the rest of those kids outta there!!!

Speaking of, Rachel Lynde I was in and out of favour with you but Yknow I respect your moxy and ability to get shit done... 3 more women on the board is a good start... it doesn’t pay for the school being burned down or the printing press being stolen but it’s something...

ONTO THE OTHER MAIN STORY OF THIS EP:

Were we blessed or cursed in this ep when it came to ships???

Derry is resolutely broken (though given Diana’s revelation, I hope she apologised properly to Jerry bc my poor boi’s Heart was thoroughly trampled on and I’m pissed)

Diana and Anne are friends again, which I’m glad for bc Anne needs someone to confide in, in this weird time... though I’m glad Aunt Jo was there, even if Cole wasn’t... to at least talk it through with Anne that she did not have to rush things if she wasn’t certain...

SPEAKING OF: Shirbert... what the actual hell is going on???

My god we had Gilbert basically confess his feelings and Anne OUTRIGHT confess her feelings... we were on a “He Loves Me Not” petal but they both have mutual feelings but somehow Gilbert is on the road to proposing to Winnie?!?!?

THEY NEVER EVEN HAD A PROPER DISCUSSION!!! I know Gilbert implied a lot of things with that “there’s just one thing [holding me back]” and was looking desperately into Anne’s eyes hoping for an answer but BOI THAT WASNT EVEN A QUESTION!!! AND ANNE NEVER EVEN GAVE AN ANSWER!! The girl was slightly inebriated, not thinking clearly, and all you did was talk about Winnie prior to that!!! And you think that string of words she gave you was any sort of response?!?!

Look idk if the proposal and engagement to Winnie is gonna go through or if it carries over into season 4 and Gilbert breaks it off down the track but I just neeeeed Anne and Gilbert to have a proper goddamn conversation about their feelings and expectations from one another! Anne is in love, and Gilbert done been knew he was in love, but Gilbert is in a PROPOSING place, and Anne is unsure how prepared she is to commit to something like that... y’all haven’t even courted yet!

I just need them to talk. Anne didn’t say no. She didn’t say anything! But Gilbert is out here saying she rejected him! Ughhh the Shirbert was strong in this ep and it somehow went wrong...

Ok so Sebastian:

Him celebrating Gilbert talking to Anne about his feelings was delightful and we all knew he was a elite level Shirbert shipper

His frictional relationship with his mother is about what I expected... Hazel has been pushed around by white masters her whole life and she isn’t about to trust Gilbert is anything more than a more lenient one so quickly...

I just want Bash and Hazel to talk out things...

this is mostly going off the movies but there’s occasional book and miniseries input- i’ve only read the first few chapters, a few wikia pages, and some character meta from the book and i’ve only seen the miniseries once vs the however many times ive watched the movies in the last 2 months so don’t expect consistency between canons

How I feel about this character:

there is a reason i use the tag baby boy for stan (and also for miniseries eddie)!!!! he’s my favourite loser other than eddie and i want to like. hold him and make sure he’s happy and healthy and i think stephen king should treat his characters better.

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

patty!!!!! their relationship in the book makes me so happy and anyone who’s ever spoken to me about stanpat knows that i am at all times thinking about how she calls his car sedanley.

that being said, i respect stenbrough, stanlon, and streddie but overall this is a stanpat household

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

stan with all the losers but especially richie! which isn’t very original since they are literally best friends but their dynamic!!! good!!!! i’ve not been able to stop thinking about that one scene from the miniseries where richie introduces stan as “this is stan the man uris, he’s a jew,” partially because it’s fucking funny because who says that richie what the fuck, but also because stan just instantly follows up by saying that richie has a high metabolism which makes him hyperactive, and maybe it’s because the miniseries is campy and a little bit shit but the delivery of those lines makes it seem like they do this a lot! they have these introductions ready to go! and i love the idea of them as a platonic package deal even if we don’t get to see much of that in the movies

My unpopular opinion about this character:

i don’t think i really have any? i tend to follow people who hold the same opinions as me tho so i have no idea what’s popular outside of that dshfk

i mean i do think fics that save eddie but not stan aren’t really fix-its and going off the amount of fics where stan’s still dead i guess that’s somehow an unpopular opinion? i know everyone’s focused on reddie rn but god like. stan is right there can we stop ignoring him pls

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

i mean the most blatantly obvious answer here is that i wish he didn’t die! he should’ve gotten to go on his holiday and rail/get railed by his wife and live to meet his friends as adults, catch up on the 27 years they didn’t get to be with each other. he should’ve gotten to have kids, once everything was over, and they should’ve been able to grow up with 5 extra uncles and an aunt bc u can’t tell me the rest of the losers wouldn’t be deeply embedded in their lives. i just wish stan had a chance to be completely, 100% happy without the underlying terror of his childhood.

on a smaller note i also wish we’d gotten to see more of his interest in birds in the movies bc like. he’s babie. and who knows! maybe would’ve helped stop the perception that his entire personality is just being a bitch that hates richie jshfd

mike hanlon

How I feel about this character:

part of the reason i wanted to read the book was for more mike content because i adore this lil farm boy and the movies. well. y’know. :). characters who just openly and whole-heartedly love their friends and go straight ride or die like 10 minutes after meeting them have my whole heart! he’s so smart and so kind and just wanted to protect his friends as best he could even though he dragged them into this whole mess bc he doesn’t want to lose them again!!!! mike deserves the whole world and if his way of getting that is by getting out of derry and getting to know that his friends remember and love him and each other then that’s all i want for him.

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

i wasn’t overly set on any particular mike ship until i watched the miniseries and saw the homoerotic bike montage and now i’m fully on the hanbrough train. choo choo.

just like with stan i support stanlon but endgame hanbrough is just. it’s right there in the text. bill didn’t divorce audra for nothing in ch2.

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

this also kinda ties in with the last point, but jane @billdenbrough opened my eyes, in the middle of a very in-depth conversation about audra’s minion strap, to the world of best friends mike and audra who are both with bill which is both galaxy brained and an incredibly good concept which i think about a lot

also i think mike and ben could’ve had something Incredibly soft if mike wasn’t treated like a background character in the first film and a quest-giving npc in the second one :) :)

My unpopular opinion about this character:

i headcanon mike as gay, i have no textual evidence for this, i just think he’s neat. i think it’s a pretty popular opinion that the movies treated him poorly? and i also think that in ch2 he was just trying to protect his friends in a scenario that did not lend itself at all to protection. drugging bill and not telling the others about the full ritual might not have been the best thing to do, but he was in a goddamn bitch of an unsatisfactory situation, and he was trying his best to save his friends no matter how impossible it may have been.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

i uh :) i don’t know if anyone’s figured out yet :) that i wish many things had happened with mike in canon :) :) the first film doesn’t give him much but the second film just infuriates me completely tbqh! he’s basically entirely there to push the narrative (his dialogue doesn’t even sound like dialogue! it sounds like prose explaining the plot and the next steps the characters have to take!), or to drug and lie to his friends. i wish they’d kept his backstory the same, that we’d actually gotten to see him find his token, that he’d gotten a token relevant to him as an individual rather than the group, that we’d gotten a flashback for him, that he was given more screentime and development across both films, like... i wish he’d been treated like the other losers and not a plot point.

i also wish we’d gotten to see him on his travels post-canon, seeing the other losers, and just generally actually getting to be happy- we see the start of it but god i just want to see him having a good time outside of derry.

patty blum

How I feel about this character:

if she were not stan’s wife she would be my wife. we don’t get to see much of her in the movie or miniseries and that is a fucking crime!!!! i’ve already mentioned sedanley but like. sedanley. i’ve read patty’s bit in the book and that’s all i need the other 1100 pages can get fucked, she’s just here to watch family feud and love stan which i can confidently say is a huge fucking mood

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

STAN. i guess i already talked about this before but i’ll keep going!!! my love for stanpat overwhelms my usual distaste towards straight relationships bc they’re so good!!!!! the fact that they’re really the only happy relationship to come out of the 27 year gap and they love each other so much and so like... wholesomely? but they still blow each other’s backs out on the reg and it’s what they deserve.

also i sometimes think about patty/audra as like. kind of a crack ship kind of a “i’m a lesbian and i’m desperate to see lesbians” ship. i haven’t thought about it in depth i just want to plant the seed

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

stan introducing patty to the losers and patty becoming an honorary loser is my weakness!!!! patty being comfortable enough to rib richie (and richieandeddie) with stan, but also vice versa going along with richie’s bits. patty and bev getting close because as much as st*phen k*ng and co push bev as One Of The Boys(tm) there’s just something in having another woman around that can be refreshing especially when they’re both bicons. patty and mike enthusiastically sharing holiday pictures and tales of their trips. patty noticing when eddie’s having a bad day, whether it’s anxiety or lingering trauma, and supporting him through it, regaling him with stories about stan and what essentially amount to dad jokes (sedanley!!!) and making sure he knows he’s loved and supported by all the losers. patty, the teacher, and ben, lunchtimes-in-the-library ben who never outgrew his love of reading, nerding out over shit that the others don’t really know about. bill telling patty all about what stan was like as a kid in that way only bill can, richie chiming in with crude comments sometimes but noticeably keeping quieter than usual, and patty returning the favour, telling them about the last 27 years, and not even richie makes a single joke when everyone tears up (because he’s tearing up the most). stan sitting there the whole time not even bothering to point out that he’s right there because it’s enough for him to see the romantic love of his life and the platonic loves of his life bonding, and yeah, maybe it was worth sticking around for.
