KAVEHTHAM HC'S
Ok some kavehtham hc's but 10 years forward. And they have a kid, Elaheh
-kaveh is now 40 and Alhaitham is 38.
- Kaveh has grown more confidence with his work and Alhaitham helps out every now and again with sketches and ideas
- Alhaitham and Kaveh go to couples therapy and discuss the argument over the project along with opening up to one another
-kaveh drinks less, instead of drinking, he takes up sketching scenery more and Alhaitham reads to him as he paints.
-Alhaitham wrote love letters to kaveh for years but never had the courage to give them to him so when kaveh found them he read them aloud at his wedding.
-they're wedding wasn't big, it was mostly people from sumeru like tighnari, cyno, nahida, wanderer yada yada and probably Farunak but Kaveh was probably quite worried that she either wouldn't come or he wouldn't know what to talk about.
- Kaveh and Alhaitham work out but Kaveh mostly uses the leg training machines, he does lift weights aswell but less often. Alhaitham is vice versa.
-they only drink on rare occasions for a reason now, they have a little girl, Elaheh. They adopted her when she was Eight because Alhaitham didn't want to have a baby or a toddler because of the noise, but he was happy with a kid instead.
-Kaveh has anti-depressants that made him gain a bit of weight but alhaitham couldn't give a shit. That's more tummy for him to lay on thank you.
-Kaveh still can't keep alhaithams name out of his mouth, he must make every sentence about his "dear husband Alhaitham"
- They're still really close to Tighnari and Cyno. Collei has grown miraculously past what happened in her childhood now she's 26. She's somthing of Elaheh's older cousin/sister.
-Collei babysits Elaheh during the times they go to the bar, but it's only once a month now days. And Collei does archery training with her.
- Kaveh and Alhaitham now share the one room which was once just Kaveh's because they needed a room for Elaheh and Alhaithams room had less to move.

Haikavember Day 3: Feast
For as long as Kaveh can remember, Alhaitham has always had a knack for showing affection through his cooking.
At first, he didn’t realize what he was doing. The very first time Alhaitham cooked for him, Kaveh poked at the food with his fork, contemplating the probability of it being poisoned. It was something Alhaitham called ‘an improved version of sabz meat stew’, but it was beyond recognizable. The flat, pizza-like substance had very few similarities with the sort of stews Kaveh was familiar with, not to mention the addition of an actual word written on it in herb sauce.
“Just try it,” Alhaitham had said, so Kaveh hesitantly took a small bite. It was unlike anything he’d ever tasted before.
To his complete and utter shock, it was delicious.
After that first time, Kaveh gained a little more trust in Alhaitham’s cooking, though the message Alhaitham was trying to convey kept flying over Kaveh’s head for a while. At first, there was ‘Contemplation’, written on what Kaveh eventually helped Alhaitham rename ‘Ideal Circumstance’.
More dishes followed, each decorated with a singular word: Observation, Companionship, and right about the time Alhaitham was about to lose patience, as he later told Kaveh, Adoration.
Kaveh thought about that last one for a good while, even after he finished eating the meal Alhaitham prepared for him that day. He couldn’t fathom what Alhaitham’s understanding of adoration might encompass, much less who or what might even elicit such an emotion from him—after all, in the realm of Kaveh’s imagination, the only thing he could envision Alhaitham adoring was books, and he was positive he felt no need to remind Kaveh of that fact. It was also possible Alhaitham wasn’t talking about himself at all. For all Kaveh knew, he could have been practicing his calligraphy using random words (and sauce).
“There is a saying in Mondstadt,” Alhaitham told him when Kaveh finally confronted him about the cryptic messages he’d been leaving all over Kaveh’s dinner. “They say that love goes through the stomach. I hope that answers your questions.”
Kaveh mulled over Alhaitham’s words; he even consulted a couple of dictionaries for usage examples of the saying, but ultimately felt like he was interpreting too much into it. After all, there was no way it was that simple, right? It wasn’t like Alhaitham to try and tell Kaveh that he had feelings for him in such a roundabout way.
And still, Kaveh couldn’t shake the thought once it had been planted in his head—and for a while he was convinced that he was losing his sanity, because Alhaitham’s runic dinner embellishments didn’t stop. In fact, they were starting to get more direct every day.
Kaveh thought about how to best broach the topic with Alhaitham, how to convey how these little gestures were making him feel. At first, he didn’t think much of it, but as days bled into weeks, he knew he could no longer brush his own feelings aside. The simplest dishes started feeling like scrumptious feasts to Kaveh, and not only because they tasted good. He felt like each bite he took warmed his insides, each word consumed unraveling into unspoken confessions.
In the end, Kaveh felt like there was only one way to go about it. He decided to try and emulate Alhaitham’s strange way of communicating with him—so one night, after Alhaitham had taken a seat at the table, Kaveh served him a portion of omelet rice, the word ‘Trust’ carefully written in ketchup standing out vibrantly against the gold of the omelet. It took him a good chunk of courage to write it out, but it felt right—just as Alhaitham had been giving him all these little hints about how he was feeling, Kaveh wanted to give something back. Something he hadn’t been able to give Alhaitham for a long time. He was willing to try again.
Kaveh sat across from Alhaitham with his own plate of food (sans ketchup-lettering), nervously waiting for Alhaitham to comment on Kaveh’s creation.
And comment Alhaitham did, but not until he had polished off his entire dinner. Kaveh almost thought he wasn’t going to say anything at all, but when he walked around the table to collect Kaveh’s empty plate, he felt Alhaitham’s hand brushing against his shoulder.
“Thank you,” he said, the corners of his mouth upturned. “It means a lot to me.” Then he stepped away from the table to do the dishes as if nothing had happened, leaving a red-faced Kaveh behind, his heart hammering in his chest.
After that night, writing messages on each other’s meals became a common occurrence in their shared household. Even after Kaveh plucked up all his courage and confessed his feelings to Alhaitham properly, the tradition stuck.
Today, too, Kaveh finds himself smiling down at the dinner Alhaitham brought him to his work desk. Written in tomato sauce, mild as Kaveh likes it, four letters complete the dish: ‘Love’.

✎ A DRAMATIC EXODUS... al haitham x kaveh
— summary; kaveh's patience has worn out but when his roommate brings the promise of something anew, he can't just say no.
— no trigger warning.
Tumblr media
The scribe likes debates, and then he likes pulling Kaveh's leg. It's guaranteed that whenever they fight, Al Haitham has the craftiest responses to whatever Kaveh might have to say.
Not doing his part of the housework? Cyno called him over. Not having moved from his place at the divan the whole day? His legs hurt and Kaveh is fretting over it now. He broke the rules and got them in trouble?
Well, in his defense, he simply doesn't vibe with the law!
While Kaveh had been very pissed off initially, eventually, even he got used to these banters, making it an opportunity to annoy his roommate to no end. Very often, he just pulled out-of-pocket stuff to discuss with him, knowing perfectly well that it would start an argument between the two of them, but isn't that exactly what he wants?
He argues endlessly, sometimes even knowing he is wrong, and keeps going on just to have the fun of watching Al Haitham's usual calm features twist into such a worked-up one when Kaveh straight up said scientifically inaccurate things.
Now, that does not mean that their care for each other is lacking in any way.
As soon as Al Haitham returns from work, he gets to his part of the household work, looking over the expenses, paying the bills, clearing the rent and taking care of all services.
Often times when Kaveh is busy and has to spend more time with his blue-prints and rulers, he is the one ensuring the house remains in good shape— tidying the hall, doing the dishes, watering the plants, ordering the takeout. One thing Kaveh finds equally amusing and irritating, however, is the fact that his roommate is literally incapable of taking care of his own quarters.
And Kaveh, well, he is so naturally responsible and caring that as long as he has enough time on his hands, not even a single thing is out of place in the whole house. He doesn't mind tidying up the other's room monthly even, albeit quite begrudgingly. And he is so naturally noticing by nature that he often unintentionally pesters Al Haitham into putting more effort into his health, something the latter sees quite exhausting and a waste of time.
But sometimes, it was impossible for even someone so understanding as Kaveh to stand Al hAitham's blatant insensitivity.
Kaveh looked angrily from his spot at the chair towards Al Haitham who was standing at the doorway, arms crossed, a serious look on his features. 'You know this would be so much better if you could just say what's wrong.'
Kaveh hissed at his companion, seething with anger. Although it was quite common for him, he wasn't joking around right now. He had given Al Haitham clear instructions about how to take care of the Glaze Lilies Tighnari had specially gotten him from Liyue, and despite that, he let the flowers Kaveh had taken care of with so much love die under his watch.
And now he dared to ask what's wrong.
Kaveh had to control himself from shouting or saying anything stupid but now he really wanted an outlet for his pent-up frustration.
'So you just look after the house— your house for one week! One damn week! And you're all up your own ass about how responsible you are but you couldn't even look after a potted plant! And you're asking me why I'm so upset—',
'I can always get another one,' Al Haitham answered back, feeling tired and defeated. In his eyes, one potted plant was no different than the other, it wasn't all that deep for him, which was irritating Kaveh to no end because in his eyes, the value was not of the flower, but of his friend's thoughtfulness and regard for the other's interests.
He genuinely wanted to take a brick and break Al Haitham's face with it, and in his own frustration and anger, he always became blinded to the weight of his own words.
'You know why literally nobody, no fucking body, will ever fall in love with you?' Al Haitham's eye twitched, 'Because you're fucked up.'
Al Haitham opened his mouth, then closed it again not sure what to say. 'Kaveh, look, I was insensitive and it hurt you, I.. I am sorry, okay? I will—'
'No Al Haitham, you won't, just forget it. It's always one insensitive act after the other. I didn't say anything when you straight up disrespected my close friend,' Kaveh stood up 'Didn't object when you changed the curtains I had spent so much time and effort designing,' He moved swiftly towards the almirah and reached for the bag on top, 'Kept my mouth shut every time you hurt me one way or the other but you're just an ass who doesn't know how to treat people.'
Al Haitham tried to give an answer but when he saw the hurried way Kaveh was picking everything off the table, he stood frozen, not sure what to do.
'You're leaving?'
Kaveh smiled sarcastically. 'Why? Worried you don't have someone to do the housework for you all day long?'
Al Haitham hissed slightly, 'That's not true and you know it.'
'Well whatever act of kindness that you rarely do isn't true either so I have to believe one thing or the other.'
'I meant those Padisarahs—'
'I'm leaving. Good luck finding someone else who can stand you for more than a week.' He swiftly shut that bag and slung it, making his way outside when—
Kaveh hated tall people.
Al Haitham had blocked the doorway, and had he been any less big, he would've easily crouched and slipped out but there wasn't even the chance of that. He looked up at Al Haitham, seething with rage.
'Get out of the—'
Suddenly, Al Haitham groaned slightly, as Kaveh turned to him. 'What happened?'
'Nothing just a headache.'
Kaveh looked at him with a hint of suspicion. 'You only have headaches when you're sick.'
'I thought you didn't care?'
Kaveh ignored him, reaching out to press the back of his palm against his forehead, raising a brow when the skin was searing. 'And what excuse do you have now?'
Al Haitham struggled to find words. 'I must've been a bit stressed lately.'
Kaveh clicked his tongue against the inside of his cheek, passing him an unimpressed look. 'This is why I can't leave your dumbass all alone.'
Al Haitham tried hard not to give a snarky response right back should he spite Kaveh once again, only feeling relief flood his veins when the latter agreed indirectly to stay.
Before he could do anything though, Kaveh dragged him back to his room, forcing him to lay down. 'You need to rest.'
'I have no need for—'
'Oh please,' Kaveh got up to prepare his roommate some soup, 'Stop pretending to be Superman.'
Kaveh felt worried, despite having felt fury at the very same man less than a minute ago. He condemned himself for being so kind, even more so when Al Haitham had seemingly sworn not to change for the better.
Al Haitham blinked twice then broke into a smile, almost making Kaveh faint. 'Whatever you say, Chief Architect.'
Al Haitham felt a warm feeling rising inside of him while Kaveh felt a certain tightening being released all of a sudden, feeling a rush of softness.
'Yup, as I say, and call me Sir.' He managed to let out before making his exodus to the kitchen.
And as Al Haitham heard the distant clanking of utensils and the sound of the stove turned on, he promised himself one thing— he would be more sensitive from now on, and if nothing at all, he would never let things get so bad that Kaveh feels like he has to escape him to feel at peace.
'Eat it up, dumbass,' Kaveh said, trying not to freak out or blush at the soft smile on Al Haitham's features.
Things can still change, Kaveh thought. It's not like Al Haitham is not capable of doing impossible things. If he can smile, he can do everything else too.
And with that mellow thought, he continued tending to the said man, not without pulling his leg about the unprompted smile though.
But Al Haitham didn't answer back, the fuzziness inside him was answer enough.
