God in the Midst
Chapter 1: Pokémon Ranger and the God in the Midst
One month has passed since Gary first came to their home. One month has passed since Goh saw the vision in the Rift.
Just as Rota called for them, something beckons them toward a new adventure — into the deep, deep dark. A storm brews over a collection of Islands, and it's up to four friends to weather through it — and to bring all involved into a brighter future.
welcome back to the world of the gods.

Onto the excerpt under the cut.
"Surprise seeing you here." Gary says quietly as he walks onto the pier.
Hailey scoffs and rolls her eyes, but doesnt turn to face him; she leans against the railing of the small platform. "Like you didn't already know."
Gary blinks. She's already onto him, and they've just met again. Shrugging, he says. "I didn't — I'm only here because of the sightings around the Orange Islands."
She does look at him then, green eyes narrowed in suspicion. "That's it?"
"What? You made it pretty clear that you didn't want to talk to me, Hailey — did you expect me to follow you?"
"You researched me within three days of meeting, Gary." She answers with a quirked brow. "Excuse me for expecting you to act predictably."
Gary bristles at the words, at the way Hailey so easily dismisses him.

God in the Midst
Chapter 3: MID WINTER — II
The next day doesn't find Goh or Ash waiting at the pier of Pallet Town, nor does it find Gary at the pier of Shamouti. A storm rolls in dark clouds emitting deep rumbles and soaking rain. Lightning cracks across the skies...
Over the Islands of Orange.
Over the Region of Kanto.
Even from the window of his bedroom, Goh can feel the presence in the winds.
Something is waiting for them.

Happy Halloween!
🎃 Trick or treat! 👻
Treat 🎃🎃
Have another from Legends Zero!
Hailey looks up at the blade, its sharp point only inches from her nose, eyes wide. This can’t be the end. She’s only just begun, there’s so much more to do.
“They’re mine,” a familiar voice calls, and Riyu steps up to the left of where Hailey lay; a low growl rumbles in her throat at the other men.
The soldiers lower their swords, looking at Riyu’s face, but avoiding her gaze, “I— I’m sorry, hero. We saw these two lurking near the base of the wall, I don’t recognize this girl; I planned to bring her to the Lieutenant for questioning.”
“Your Lieutenant placed Monotome and I in charge,” Riyu all but snarls, electricity flickering dangerously in the still air surrounding them. She glances slightly to her left, meeting Hailey’s eyes for a second before turning back to the Bleu soldiers, “She looks like less of a threat than the rest of the rebellion; if this is who you’re afraid of then you aren’t ready to fight this war. Now, go back inside the walls before I tell Lieutenant Pine that you’re interfering with my mission.”
“Yes, ma’am,” one of the soldiers gulps, Hailey doesn’t look at the two to know which one. The two soldiers turn and hastily return to the entry gates of the city.

Trick or Treat?
Treat 🎃🎃
From the latest draft of the first chapters of Legends Zero. Enjoy!
Hailey stands in the middle of what looks to be a throne room, sleep tank top and shorts flowing in wind that shouldn’t exist in a dream. She’s breathing heavily, anxious for how the ending of this nightmare will play – the blonde woman being captured in Hailey’s place to keep her safe, or Holt fading as she tells Hailey she believes in her? It’s becoming too much; they feel too real.
A familiar figure in a hooded cape materializes from the back of the throne room, and Hailey blinks back tears as she roars, “What do you want from me?! Haven’t you shown me enough? I won’t go to the Monk’s Village again, I swear. Just please – stop.”
Sobbing, Hailey drops to her knees, hugging herself tightly. She’s seen too many times where she wasn’t fast enough – never fast enough to stop the demise of those in her dreams. The person stops, staying where she stands on the opposite side of the throne room. Lifting a palm to the air, they shoots a beam of soft yellow light at the top of the room, the room being illuminated as particles of light spread about the room.
After the lights fade, the room begins to light up again as fuzzy memories from the dreams start to come into focus in little displays on the walls. Hailey watches as one memory begins, the first of the series of dreams.
An all too familiar voice speaks from under the hood, “Are you ready, Maiyu?”
Hailey's eyes dart up at the person. What did they call her? Is that the name from the dreams? Is that her name?
The figure removes their hood, and Hailey is suddenly face to face with herself...
Holt.

Happy STS!
Which of your ocs would run away or go alone if the group would argue or split up?
Happy STS!!!
Hailey will leave — every single time.
Hailey Tockett is a leader, and she just wants to keep her people and friends safe. No matter which world she is in, Hailey will always be the one to split off.
Reasons change in different worlds — depending if she's a Pokémon Ranger like in the Ranger series, or if she's the new semi-powerless leader of a rebellion in Legends Zero.
Hailey takes her duties very seriously, nearly to a fault; and in L0 does at one point have to initiate an argument with her friend for their plan to work. Ultimately ends up with her leaving her team behind until their mission can be completed.

Introduction
I see that my other writer friends have this, so I guess it's time that I make my own.
Oh, hi hello -- I haven't updated this in a while, so I'm finally here to do that lol
Hi, I'm Michael, Mike, Evermore, or Maybe. Names are fun, why stop with just one? Speaking of names being fun, hi I'm now Noah.
Not quite 30. Yet. 🥲 I'm 30 now. Eh, it's okay.
I'm a fanfiction writer for the Pokémon fandom, specifically under Ash/Goh right now. Currently working on a Pokémon Ranger series that focuses on a mix of anime and game material.
Previously worked on an original work titled, Legends Zero, but it has been abandoned for the time. Maybe I'll work on it again one day. 🙃 However, I still continually use one of my main OCs from the series, Hailey Tockett.
Completed works:
Conference Blues (2.1K)
WWDD? (307 words)
Five Years (357 words)
Battle of the Year (4K)
At the Age of Now (1.4K)
Standing Here (1.2K)
As it should be (1.7K)
Home is Wherever You Are (1.8K)
Over and Over (1.1K)
In the City of Canalave (1.8K)
Sparks (2.9K)
Whatever the Weather (2.3K)
And I am Home (910 words)
Everything Changes, Everything Stays the Same (2.5K)
I met you in a dream (3.8K)
Pieces of an Invisible Puzzle (4.8K)
To Push and Be Pulled (4.4K)
Ranger Series Completed Works:
Secrets of the Fiore Temple (17.1K)
Answers Buried in Time (59.2K)
In the In-Between (9.3K)
Current WIPs:
God in the Midst (11.3K)
You Are Always Welcome Here (22.1K)
I will try to update my current WIPs with new chapters on here, but I do also post each new work as its own post.
Ask to be added to taglist if you'd like. :)

Happy now belated STS from my time zone!
Have you ever heard a song and thought yes that one fits my oc? If so which song was it and which oc?
~ Leia
Happy belated STS!!!❤️
Hmm... Not any for a specific OC, but one song I have always associated with my cast of three main has been "Everyone Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears.
The cast of three is Hailey Tockett, Riah Hacker, and Jonathan Hacker. Hailey appears as a main character in my Pokémon Ranger series; Riah and Jonathan will be mentioned a little more in depth in my next fic, God in the Midst.
Thank you for the ask!

Hello!
For the writing ask meme:: 2, 6,18
Hi, hi! Thanks for the ask @perasperaadastrawriting!
2. give short descriptions of all the main characters for In the In-Between and God in the Midst.
Ash Ketchum - Usual. Heroic man with a heart of gold. Chosen One of the gods, but still not quite sure on his path. Going through a quarter-life crisis in the worst way possible.
Goh - Guide to the gods. Along with Hisuian Zoroark, makes up a new team for the gods to lead others through. Carving his own path, refusing to let the gods have any control over his choices.
Gary Oak - Emotionally stunted. Does not care if anyone flirts with any of his friends. Willing to go to hell and back to keep his friends/family safe.
Hailey Tockett - Strong, but breaking. Pokemon Ranger who continues to feel negative effects of previous deadly missions. Survivor's guilt. Not willing to put anyone she cares about in danger after working for Ranger Union.
6. are your projects driven more by character or plot?
By character, always. I can come up with a general plot, but the characters make it their own. Answers Buried in Time is the perfect example since the next two works in the series are wips. Totally initially plotted out 8-10 chapters like Secrets of the Fiore Temple before it, but the characters drove it to be much longer, much darker than it was initially intended.
18. how do what you look for in your own writing vs someone else’s coincide? how does your writing influence your reading?
I look at details more now than ever before. I love bright, vivid detail into the world that you create as a writer, artist, etc., and as it's something I continually add into my own stories, I look for it in others' stories as well. I think this actually covers both questions pretty well, the only thing I'd like to add in that my writing influencing what I read is that now I specifically look at tense in whatever I read. I write solely in present tense, so it's something I now pay much closer attention to the tense that others write in. (Would love to one day better my ability to write in past tense, but not there yet.)
