hello! my name is scottie! i am a 20 yr. old nb college student trying to write a fantasy series (among other minor projects!), looking for active writers to be mutuals and interact with (bonus if ur open to beta reading! or want a beta reader!) :D ask/tag open! i love talking to people, so don't be afraid to say hi :)

magic school coming-of-age that turns into a dystopia. and there are lesbians EVERYWHERE. basically. it covers ten years of this girl's life where she's

also lesbians! contains time shenanigans and dragons. set in a world sort of exactly like the Modern Pre-Crown World in fionna and cake. i reference this because my main lady penny is a silly little history buff and decides to go on this expedition to find more information on a lost goddess, and ends up getting entangled with time. after a long, emotional trek that goes wrong more times than it goes right. penny somehow manages to get sent thousands of years in the future when the world has been ravaged by magic and godly power. and then she meets a girl who has a dragon and a dude that does everything she says, and more shit happens!

untitled crime story (now: unorthodox methods!)

i will not stop calling it untitled crime story!!! but i had to come up with a silly and catchy title because i chose this as a premise for the feature film script i'm writing for class. but untitled crime story i'll remember you

you guessed it.... lesbians.............. but they're exes with sooo much unspoken beef and they go off-grid together anyways so neither of them get put in prison ??? it's in a world where magic is normal and a bit frowned upon, now getting out of have because there's a global shortage of the one drug that suppresses magical powers. and this girl's ex calls her one night! the fun ex---she's supposed to be fun!! but she sounds super terrified and serious and chaos ensues! lesbians running from magical authorities and having to face their very long, very loud shared history.

I've always really liked to write stories and I've wanted to make a proper book since forever, but I have a bad habit of getting distracted by new ideas and abandoning my old ones before I can finish them. I'm determined to see this one through, though, as I have big plans for the world I've created and need a solid starting point.

When it comes to reading, I'm open to just about any genre (feel free to hit me with recommendations!), though I almost exclusively write fantasy. Many of my characters are LGBTQ+, mentally ill, or both. My writing tends to get dark and gory at times, but I do my best to properly tag and warn if anything I post might be triggering.

Writeblr Intro

Hi, I'm Finn (She/Her), 25, and have been writing my whole life. With my ADHD it has always been hard to focus on one skill or one hobby but writing has always been something I could come back to whenever I wanted.

Despite how long I've been writing, I've yet to ever really show anything I've written. There wasn't space for me to do so when I was younger and now I'm plagued by my own self-doubt and insecurity, but this is me attempting to tip a toe into the world of writers.

Genres I Write: Slice of life, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Romance,

I want to stretch more into some horror and mystery, one of my goals is to be able to write a convincing mystery novel one day.

Recently I've been obsessed with stories centering around morality and the greyness of it all, or stories about how good people with good intentions end up hurting the ones they love. I'm very much a fan of writing angst but I also am trying to give more love to the happy ending. I like ending my stories with some hope at the end for the characters.

Anyways, if you're a nervous writer like me whose still trying to put themselves out there, I welcome you to give me a follow. I'm hoping by having some kind of writing community it might spur me into putting some short stories or fanfiction out there.

Also, if anyone's ever looking for a Beta reader I'm happy to help. I've been told I can be helpful with editing (plus it's one of my favorite parts of writing).

Although I write a lot of fiction, I've yet to really consistently share it online. But! I finally made an account on Archive of Our Own (find me here), and I'll probably be sharing on other platforms very soon.

I write a lot of heavy shit, so I tend to write contemporary dramas, but I'm a sucker for fantasy and sci-fi as well. ADHD brain demands multiple sources of excitement, so I tend to just write whatever's ticklin' my fancy at the minute.

I miss being in (digital) community with other writers / creatives, so I'm looking forward to connecting with folks here. I'm also just trying to get out of my own way and stop taking myself so seriously.

There are several Polizei Berlin stations like the Abschnitt, but everyone tied to this supernatural symphony ends up near this Spandau station particularly.

Sören’s abrasive nature keeps his co-workers at bay, a division widened by their western ideals clashing with his East German upbringing. He distances himself from the station through tight focus on his job, always the first to arrive at a crime scene. Don Jae Hale -- ( elk | tag | bio ) The silver-tongued Kriminalhauptkommissar of the Abschnitt. Hale is quick to dismiss the killings up until his leadership comes under siege by the paranoid public. Umeya Romanova -- ( fox | tag | bio ) The Bundeskriminalamt detective sent to assist with the Abschnitt’s mounting cases. Rumor says Umeya is there for more than the mystery, but her motives veiled by a callous attitude. Marieke Reiss -- ( rabbit | tag | bio ) The star psychology student barely escaped a killing. Now a key witness, Marieke can’t rest easy knowing she could be the next victim, driving her to take matters into her own hands. Reinhardt Müller -- ( donkey | tag | bio ) The Abschnitt’s disgraced ace detective, worn down and living in the grimy corners of Berlin. When crime spikes, Reinhardt tries to relive his “glory days" of detective work. Ukko Heinrich -- ( boar | tag | bio ) The crime lord defends his territory with brutal but firm methods. He's sworn to his found family, the country's political rift making him protective to a fault. Vorwitz Albrecht -- ( bat | tag | bio ) A gardener with good banners but bad morals. Vorwitz's unsavory career choices put him in the Abschnitt, but he finds a way out with Sören.

Writeblr Intro

Hi everyone! I'm starting a new blog to chronicle my thoughts as I work on my current WIP. I've been on tumblr for a while but this particular blog is brand-spanking new. I'm really just doing this for me but I wouldn't mind making some writeblr friends to gush about our wips together. So without further ado...

My name is Kate (she/her) and I mostly write fantasy with the occasional sci-fi project on the side. I love epic high fantasy (in the vein of LotR or Wheel of Time) and YA fantasy romances equally.

Funny enough, my current project is none of those things. I thought I was writing a YA fantasy for the longest time but once I finished writing my first draft I realized I hadn't included a single fantastical element.

It's more like a YA twist on a Shakespeare comedy than anything else -- if I had to pick a genre. Something like Twelfth Night, Cymbeline, or As You Like It. It's got a young women running from an arranged marriage, a b-plot to prevent a war, forbidden love, mistaken identity hijinks, a forest setting, bandits, a fairy-tale High Medieval backdrop, and it wouldn't be truly like a Shakespeare comedy without cross-dressing and queer characters.

I have several other wips on the go but this is the one I am furthest along on. As of yesterday I was 10% of the way through my second draft!!

I won't be posting full chapters of the wip because I am hoping to query it one of these centuries... but I will definitely be posting about the process (the good, the funny, and the tufts of ripped out hair) and sharing my favourite lines.

I write each draft in one giant MS Word doc. My first draft for this wip clocked in at 112 572 words (163 pages in 11pt Times New Roman) but I am trying to cut it down to around 80 000 for the second draft -- a feat, seeing as I am a chronic over-writer.

I would love to chat with fellow writers, particularly anyone writing in a similar genre but sci-fi, fantasy, YA romance writers and anyone really --writer or not -- is welcome if you are interested in watching someone else go through the revision process of writing a novel, or if the concept itself intrigues you. I am also happy to answer questions about first drafts and writing in general.

I'm not as well-versed in Shakepeare as I pretend to be so any avid fans of his comedies who want to talk about them are most welcome too!!

An illicit trade syndicate gives her a fresh start and the acceptance she won’t admit she craves, but her blood family’s betrayal is seared into her mind and revenge is only ever an opportunity away.

Current WIP

Crescent Unbound - A stand-alone fantasy novel following Astrid Vale, a girl left orphaned by the last battle between good and evil. 20 years later she awakens an artifact with great power, it whispers of the return of evil. She must return it to the Chosen One so that it can be used to banish evil once again, but the quest is not as easy as it may seem.

Main Series: The Destiny Chronicles

Overall Synopsis: A generational series that follows a variety of supernatural beings: The Devlins (monster hunters); Seers (see the future), Sandmen (travel/control dreams), Mages (control a variety of magics), Cruth (control elements), and hybrids. Follows certain individuals chosen by Destiny to stop a great evil, and involves a lot of crossover until the end when everyone meets up for the big bad battle.

Book One: Retrospection - 1976 Earth - Russell Walker is a 16-year-old Seer dating Alexis Devlin a 16-year-old monster hunter. When she reveals his identity as a Seer and subsequently explains he's being hunted by a Seer-eating monster, they run away together - unfortunately not to fall in love but rather to save his life.

Book Two: Otherworld - 2007 Otherworld - Maxine Devlin was born into a family of monster hunters, but after 17 years she still hasn’t been allowed to fulfill that role. She has read every journal her ancestors have written and knows everything there is to know about monsters…or so she thinks. After her uncle and cousin go missing, she takes it upon herself to investigate and find them. Very quickly she finds herself in over her head as she travels to a dimension called Otherworld, where she discovers there is much more to magic than she once assumed.

Book Three: Shades of Night - 2010 Shadow - Sebastian Devlin has been to other dimensions before - technically just the one other than the one he was born in. That doesn't make it any easier though when he's dragged through a portal by the monster he's hunting. On his own this time, he'll have to find a way home, if that's even possible. Before he can do that though, he'll have to solve this new dimensions monster problem.

Book Four: Lost in Atlantis - 2011 Atlantis - The Devlin family is back together on a special mission to search the dimension of Atlantis for a particularly dangerous monster - the one that's been hunting Sebastian. The dimension of Atlantis has been abandoned for centuries, but almost immediately they find a single survivor, an impossible face from the past.

Book Five: Vengeance at the Door - 2013 Earth - Sebastian Devlin the monster hunter has become the hunted, chased across multiple states and dimensions by a horrifying visage either of his imagination or reality. Now in Boston, he's just trying to live off the radar of any monster or creature. As the patients at the mental hospital where he works begin to see the same visages he's been seeing, does he run again? Or get himself slaughtered?

Book Six: Heartwood - 2015 Shadow - Janina Heartwood is a good little sister, she picks food off of her brother's plate, puts leaves in his hair, sticks up for him, and trusts him to the edge of the world. After a mysterious man reveals that her brother, Jake, is adopted and descended from a line of monster hunters called the Devlins, she follows him to another dimension to protect him. Now she, Jake, and her boyfriend, Ethan, find themselves trying to destroy an evil entity known as the Sluagh. Janina fights shapeshifters, gremlins, pirates, and more to protect her brother, but will it be enough?

Book Seven: Bring Me a Dream - 2015 Earth - Reynolds McNeil is a Sandman slowly turning into a Nightmare just trying to live out his final few months keeping his friends out of trouble and protecting his little sister from his scary world. Instead, he gets kidnapped and taken to an underground fight ring for augmented humans like himself.

Book Eight: Dream Treader - 2016 Unnamed Dimension - Rescued at the last second by their thought-to-be dead brother, Reynolds and Louie discover there's a lot more to their strange powers than they thought. Things continue to get complicated as they are hunted by a different kind of enemy determined to rid the world of Destiny's chosen - them and their friends.

Book Nine: Moonlight Dreams - 2017 multiple dimensions - Still on the run but now without their leader, Reynolds and his friends try to learn everything they can about why they're being hunted. Book Ten: Among Infinities - 2017 Isfyd - Carson has lived his entire life in the middle of a Civil War, and most of that was on the wrong side. Although he's on the right side now there are few who believe he's anything other than a spy. When Carson discovers there is a real spy out there he must discover the spy's identity before he's found guilty himself.

Book Eleven: Diplopia - 2018 Isfyd - Carson, now a prisoner of his mother and in the process of resisting her brainwashing, discovers this isn't the first time she's brainwashed him or erased his memories. Exploring his memories and his old home reveals answers and more questions.

Book Twelve: Splintered Crown - 2019 Earth- Freshly rescued, Carson and his friends flee to Earth to find the one thing that can stop his mother and her army - a girl with no idea who she is or how to use her powers, and absolutely no interest in joining their rebellion.

Book Thirteen: Destiny - 2020 Earth - Earth is invaded by soldiers from Isfyd, it will take all of Destiny's chosen to defeat the great evil they've been waiting for. The Devlins, the McNeils, the Moons, and Carson and his friends are the only chance this dimension has. It's looking increasingly like it won't be enough.

Hounds of Corduff - 1800s Isfyd - A four-book series following the three Cruth apprentices of Corduff as they battle with and against each other in the middle of propaganda and other lies forcing them each further away from the truth.

The Elder Mage - 1976 - 2015 Various dimensions - a series of short stories following Denham Moon, who some would call Earth's most powerful mage. He's been entrusted with bringing together Destiny's chosen at the appropriate time, but he's mostly just procrastinating since he's pretty sure he won't make it through that appropriate time.

Old Gods - a 9-book series following Em'het, a curious and multi-talented boy with great magics who fights the gods to save his family, but after several years of doing the same thing over and over again he wonders if there's a point to any of it if the gods he faces just keep getting stronger and smarter.

Prince of Fireflies - a TV series that follows teenage twins Charlie and Riley as they attempt to keep their younger brother Liam out of trouble with his mysterious light powers. They're mostly unsuccessful.

The Peculiar Adventures of Michael Mallory - an unnumbered book series that follows 9-year-old Michael Mallory after he sneaks aboard his older brother's spaceship. While in the process of trying to return Michael, Nicholas Mallory and his crew are attacked and forced to hyperjump without their navigation machines online. Now they're lost in space, who knows how far from home, and somehow raising a 9-year-old.

The Disappearing Place - just one book - 12-year-old Martin Ramsey has a bad habit of disappearing, blinking in and out of existence seemingly at random. His brother Bartholomew tries to help but ends up making things worse when he starts disappearing too. In a wacky time-traveling dilemma the brothers have to figure out what is happening and why to try and get back home, while continually randomly jumping in and out of time and space.

Writer Intro

Hello, I’m thepenultimateword (the penultimate word) or Pen for short. I’m a twenty-something year old English Grad and writer. I’ve been writing for probably 15ish years, and I hope that once I finally get around to finishing the zillion WIPs in my brain I can someday get something published.

My favorite genres to write are sci-fi and fantasy, however, my most popular genre on Tumblr is Superhero fiction (or Supervillain fiction—I have an obsession for bad guys). Off Tumblr, I’m a novel writer, but on Tumblr I mostly write mini series, snippets, and prompts. This is also a SFW blog. The only thing that may come up now and then is gore and violence, but I try to content warn for that sort of thing.

Some things to expect from my blog:

Lots of romance. Sorry, I can’t help it, I do have some platonic stories, but I’m a sucker for romance plots even if I’m not in the habit of reading romance books.

Flangst (fluff + angst). I rarely end things angsty, but you better believe there’s gonna be angst in order to make that fluff super sweet and satisfying.

Long snippets. I have a habit of writing long, so most of my snippets are usually at least a couple thousand words. This is either a good thing or a bad thing for you depending on what type of reader you are, as well as how invested you are in my stories.

Arranged marriage, fake dating, enemies or rivals to lovers, strong woman x weaker guy, slow burn (These are among my favorite tropes).

Sometimes slow response to asks or continuations. As much as I love writing, I’m pretty slow because I’m meticulous. It usually takes me about 3 hours or so to write one snippet, which can delay me for several reasons.

i've loved creating stories since i was a kid, but i've been taken writing more 'seriously' for about 2 years. i'm genderfluid bisexual, and also an omnist lunar kitchen witch. i love everything that is related to fantasy, that's also the main genre i read.

i'm writing mainly in polish, my native language, but sometimes i translate them to english, therefore i'll be posting some of my works from time to time.

all of the stories i write happen in the same universe i'm currently working on. there are many planetary systems in my universe inspired by various cultures and mythologies, but i'm focusing on the main planet at the moment — caestia, which is a planet where worshipping celestial bodies and magic are essentials.

all of my writing is very personal to me. i love adding elements of my beliefs like witchcraft, mythologies, folklore, especially slavic folklore as i am slavic myself, etc. into my work, as well as themes surrounding mental health, which are very close to me.

i think that diversity is extremely important in fiction and we, as storytellers, have the responsibility of providing as diverse cast of characters and cultures as possible. i make sure to add characters of many races, sexualities and gender identities to most of my works.

This moment marks the beginning of something very dear to my heart. I've finally gathered the courage to share my world of words with someone other than my notebooks and Word documents.

I'm sitting down right now and penning this very first post with a nervous heart and a pinch of excitement.

Writing has been my very own hiding place for as long as I can recall. Whenever life got chaotic or my thoughts tangled like mischievous fairies, I sought refuge in beautiful blank pages.

When I started writing this, I feel like I am sharing my deepest secrets with you, as if you'd discovered my personal diary locked away in the attic. But I welcome you to my page, which will soon be a universe of words, thoughts, and theories that have long existed within me.

I like writing lots of things, from stories to poems, from my thoughts on a movie to why I should have punched the rude guy on the bus, everything I can imagine or express.

I'm Neelihara. This might not be the name of my birth certificate, but this is the name I have given to the part of my brain that makes me want to write. I have taken it as my pen name.

If we were sitting face to face, I'd probably offer you a cup of coffee and talk about stories late into the night. But since we're meeting on the internet, I'll pour my heart into these virtual posts.
