Mythical creatures/connections

The Hoo (Pheonix)- Maito Gai and the Maito Clan. Pheonix’s are not born into the clan, but become a part of the clan when their nature is discovered.

Yatagurasu (the three legged crow)- The Uchiha Clan. Can shapeshift into human form, though half-uchiha children like Shisui often find themselves stock in an inbetween form (thanks to @uchihashisui-kun headcannon)

Kitsune (the Fox)- Uzumaki Clan. Often runs around the world in fox form, but can shape shift into humans when they want. 

Kirin- The Nara clan. Large stages with dragon like scales on them, an ox tail, skull of a wolf and horse hooves. Not seen often. prefers to keep away from humans after what happened to the phoenix’s

Hakujya (the white snake)- Anko is one of the most well known among humans, though there are others.
