He's still anti-mario on principle, but I agree that he definitely has mellowed out simply because at this point in his life he has better things to do (and more annoying people to hate). I don't think it's just that he's distracted though; the entire cast of warioware has effectively domesticated this once-tyrannical beast into a benign goblin. While there are other factors that probably helped (thinking about wario land 4), there's a reason present-day wario is only ever the final boss by accident.
