XIKERS at your Birthday Party

genre: light-hearted, comedy, best friend au

a/n: a light-hearted break from the heartthrobbing romance heheh

Minjae:

Helped you plan everything out perfectly, almost like some kind of consultant

Helped you decorate even when you insisted you could do it all

Ended up knocked out on the couch half way through the party, yujun and seeun tag teaming his face with a pack of markers

Wake up in the morning in a daze, go to wash his face and- the whole house would be able to hear yujun being dragged from his place on a air mattress on the ground, minjaes slurring angry gibberish, and yujuns goat-like screams 

(And seeuns giggles as he plays dumb)

Junmin:

Made the cake for the party, watching in horror as sumin smashes your face down into his beautiful creation

Would try and scold sumin only to end up with cake on his face as well, courtesy of a smiley yujun

Would be almost obsessively trying to clean every mess that gets made no matter how much you insist he just has fun and worries about it later

Would eventually get too tired to bother, settling down on the couch and yechan snuggling up to him like a heat pack once he gets sleepy too

When you wake up, the house would already be clean because he woke up early to silently clean while everyone snoozed

Sumin:

Does the most stupid stuff during parties

“Watch this, guys!!!!” *hurts himself, makes a mess, or breaks something* (or all of the above)

Would bring way too many snacks, I'm talking every flavour of chips, every kind of candy, crackers and dip. Just “wanted enough for everyone” but leaves you with 10 open bags of snacks to fit somewhere in your pantry

At the end of the night, everyone's trying to fall asleep and in the midst if the silence, a small “...you guys still awake…?” echoes through the room

Because he's the last one asleep, he'll be the last one awake. You'll be dumping a cold bucket of water on his face at 1pm

Jinsik:

The one sporting a party hat and popping party poppers in everyone's faces all night

Outshines everyone singing happy birthday (that elephant from sing style, iykyk)

Would start a dance battle with anyone and everyone (eventually getting so incredibly humbled by hunter whipping out the b-boy floor spins and backflips)

The one sneaking an extra slice of cake in the middle of the night before snuggling into the arms of seeun, him confused about how he got there in the morning but not mad about it

Definitely the life of the party, that's something everyone can agree on

Hyunwoo:

Would somehow hurt himself even if he wasn't doing anything stupid like sumin (stubs his toe while dancing and falls to the ground sobbing in pain)

Sings along to the music WAY too loud, like louder than the actual music itself

Does all those old people dance moves like the sprinkler or just does the stanky leg for hours (pulls out the fortnite emotes he has memorised for the dance battle because he thinks they're good)

Is super picky about which slice of cake he wants, like wants the perfect amount of frosting and the perfect ratio of toppings (seeun decides that he just gets cake smashed in his face to make him stop talking)

Would be like the birthday gift Police, “Oh what'd you get them? Hmm not good enough…” even though his gift wouldn't even be that good (you love him anyways)

Junghoon:

The one always in the corner alone or on the couch on his phone while everyone is having fun together

Have to take his phone from him to get him to socialise but once he is, he's eating everyone up at the dance battles

Would pass out on the couch super early so everyone would end up with cute sleepy pics of junghoon on their camera rolls (they'd be lucky if they didn't get their phones broken in the morning)

Would have the biggest slice of cake (you can't convince me otherwise) and devour it like it's nothing

You'd be a little down about his attitude, thinking he doesn't wanna be there, then he'd come up to you while you're alone and give you his gift, telling you happy birthday in a shy voice with a small smile

Seeun:

The LOUD one, screaming at everything, laughing way too loud, messing around with sumin after bedtime

Would try and copy hunters moves during the dance battle and forget how tall he is, kicking a hanging light or the TV and standing like 🧍‍♂️ afterwards

Would give you the most insanely bone crushing hug while telling you happy birthday

If you're younger than him, he'd joke “how old are you this year? 12?”, if you're older, “DAMN YOU'RE ANCIENT?!?!?”

He's absolutely the type to treat you like royalty on your birthday though, acting almost like a bodyguard if anyone comes too close while you insist he stops

Yujun:

Genuinely the most excited for the party, putting amazing effort into his gift, outfit, and snacks he'd bring

Would immediately get smothered by the others as soon as he arrived, them thinking it's so cute that he put in so much effort for your party and teasing him that he has a crush on you (him insisting with a cracking voice and red cheeks that he doesn't)

Too shy to join the dance battle but would get pushed in by seeun and he'd actually blow everyone away (my main dancer 🩷)

Seeun would actually be obsessed with him all night, let's be honest (my bestiesss) Would have you wondering whose party it really is, yours or yujuns

Would knock out on the floor and get many “awwww"s and pics taken

Hunter:

Shows up overdressed, and when the others make fun of him he'd just reflect with “at least I don't look like the discount section at target”

Would also bring the most expensive gift and have everyone else feeling insecure about their gifts

Showed up with a whole plate full of gourmet appetisers (he's literally a birthday party try-hard, tell me I'm wrong)

Like I said, destroys everyone in a dance battle (try-hard v2) while claiming he “didn't even try that hard”

He'd be the last one awake with you and would make fun of them with you that he loved showing them all up just for funsies, then he'd wish you an actual sincere happy birthday

Despite the sincereness the night before, it's a 50/50 of whether or not he's still there when you wake up in the morning 💀 (bro has things to do)

Yechan:

The mess maker, spilling his drinks on the floor every two seconds and always forgetting where he put them anyways so he'd just go back and get a new one (you'd be confused as to why there are 30 plastic cups around when there's only 11 of you

Would scream “FOOD FIGHT!” and throw a piece of cake at minjae, only to be tackled by him immediately with everyone laughing

Snuggled up to junmin, making him jump away from him as soon as he wakes up

Would rap happy birthday to you, weirdly impressing everyone with it

The only one with a chance at showing hunter up in the dance battle (ended up doing a high kick and kicking him in the face making him fall to the ground, but everyone counted that as a win and cheered)

a soft buzzing wakes seeun out of her well-deserved nap. letting out a groan, she aimlessly slaps around her bed, trying to find her phone.

seeun laughs at this, hitting the call button. it rings all but two times before you pick up. "oh, finally you answered! get dressed, i'll be there in fifteen" you say, not letting her get a word in as you abruptly hang up the phone.

her face forms into one of confusion but nevertheless gets ready in record time before the specific chime for your number rings. she glances at it shortly, before gathering her belongings and walking out the front door.

practically skipping over to your car, she sits in the front, "where are we going?" seeun asks. you shrug, starting the car before traveling to your destination.

seeun knows better than to pry so she opts to talk about something different for the remainder of the car ride. the car's full of chatter, all of seeun's favorite music playing in the background.

almost a street away, you ask her to close her eyes. your practically begging as you give her your best puppy-dog eyes. letting out a 'you look absolutely ridiculous' type of laugh, she ultimately agrees.

once the car comes to a soft halt, you leave the car before walking around and opening her door up, reminding her to keep her eyes closed. she listens obediently, taking careful steps as you lead her to god knows where.

little did seeun know, you had gotten together with her group members and planned a surprise birthday party.

as you enter the tiny café, you guide her through. "where are you taking me she?" she asks, curiosity getting the best of her. you snicker at her before positioning her to face everyone. "open your eyes" you excitedly whisper.

"happy birthday, seeun!" they all shout boisterously.

a gasp falls from her lips, as she quickly turns around to you. "did you do all of this? for me?" she asks. her aura as bright as the sun, her cheeks turning red. "as much as i'd love to take all the credit, your members helped me too." you respond jokingly, smile never leaving both your faces.

she tackles you into a bone crushing hug before leaving a kiss to your cheek, muttering an endless amount of thank you's. she greets all her loved ones that are littered around the place, smiling and thanking them for the surprise.

time passes by quickly, the party slowly dying down. you feel a soft tug to your hand and look at the culprit. she nods her head to the side, indicating to follow her.

taking you to a secluded part of the café, she squeezes your hand. "i just wanna say thank you for putting all of this together. it means a lot to me, and i love you a lot!" she confesses before enveloping you in another hug.
