Happy 2nd anniversary to Last Week's Shirt Tonight as a blog!!! 🎊 🎉

This was my first post. I mislabeled this as being from The Department and tagged it as "i guess this is what I do now". I basically made this to stop irritating my best friend with random bursts of old man thirst.

Two years later, the TDS fandom revived, there's a thriving Discord, I traveled across the country to see John live for the first time in ten years, I've made some of my best friends (I cannot WAIT for Meerkats' Fringe reports), and I can honestly say this blog has changed my life for the better.

Can't wait to spend more time with y'all in the future 💗

I can’t express what this day means to me. It is not just the start of my blog, but the start of true happiness and friendships that will last a lifetime. I got to talk to people that loved history as much as me and who had true pure hearts. This past year has been one of my best ones yet and I would’ve NEVER been able to get through it without you guys. Thank YOU for everything and I love you all SO MUCH!!! 🫂🤍

her remark comes after a headshot. it's brutal. the droid didn't stand a chance. one second, she's ducked in this abandoned homestead alongside him, hidden, readying her gun in the dark of their safe place, and the next? one shot, one kill. the droid's body explodes, head frying, sparks flying, and its destroyed mechanical parts come crashing down to the dirt below. din's helmet turns to face her when she makes her joke — try not to die — and if his face were visible, she'd see his smile of disbelief. "no problem," he says. it's his turn. tucked in a crouch along the nearest opening, din arms and aims his sniper rifle. the cloudy sky and lack of light help hide his form from the approaching enemies (they don't seem to notice the motion, the arc of his gun, or the way it protrudes from the window). his turn. his shot. his kill. just as carol just did, din takes out another droid, another headshot. perfect.

his helmet turns briefly towards her, then back to the scene outside. just checking. he doesn't know what to make of the woman and her skills, but he knows a situation like this is bound to cause trouble. holed into the same space, same hiding place, they've got to work togerther. and together, they fire — the volley is deadly and effective, droid after droid taken down in their monumental crossfire. for now, none get too close (carol is quite good at ensuring that with her pistol). any time they need to duck, reload, take a second to pause, they duck together. the second time they drop, the mandalorian actually makes a joke. "not dying," he informs her, the comment so offhand it shocks even him. "how about you?"

Staring up at the stars, Gremlin sent up a few of his own to join them. The fears stars popped like fireworks and dissipated. It had become a little tradition for him on his blogiversary. Five years of his very long life that were indescribably more meaningful than what came before. Things were far from easy, but he found himself beyond grateful nonetheless.

As he leaned against a tree at the edge of the woods, a familiar face flew down next to him. "Hey, Luna. Coming back from work?" Germlin asked, the puffball fishing through the bag she was carrying. "Sort of! This is my last delivery for today." Luna explained, handing him an envelope. The Dream Demon stared at it for a moment before taking it. No one sent him letters, or, at least, not by normal means.

Curious, he carefully opened it and read through.

'To Gremlin,

Apologies for the delay in construction. Your new home's location and mailing address are enclosed in this envelope along with keys.

P.S. I owe you for how long this took, so I'm hoping having it pre-furnished helps.'

thank you. ive been wondering if theres a way to have people vote on which asks i do next. there some recent duplicates + old asks ive liked to get to but it seems like making asks public and tallying votes is quite a hassle

Hiya! (don't mind, this is just a personal ramble)

So! One year ago as of yesterday, I posted my very first fanfiction ever. It wasn't a totally novel idea for the fandom, but I was so anxious about it that I remember the exact date and time it was posted. I nervously worked on the fic for several days and then made this account so nobody would ever find out I made it. This blog was going to be the hidden secret indulgence of someone who was ashamed to post fanfiction.

To my incredible shock, the post didn't go ignored. In fact, it got notes! And now thanks to all of you lovely people for your amazingly wonderful support over the past year, I've turned into an unstoppable fanfic monster.

(I've said it several times but I do 100% intend to get to my ask requests ahh. I'm sorry to those who have sent things in and gone unanswered, I'm afraid of disappointing you with a bad response. Those of you who send in nice words, I hoard those like a praise-hoarding dragon so thank you. I want to get to my asks. Aahh.)

For my one year blogiversary, I intended to post a much-requested sequel/side character version of my first post. Unfortunately, I've been far busier than expected and haven't had time to make posts, so it'll be delayed. There are some really cool projects I'm involved in that I want to give my best effort in. They're currently taking priority, and this time of year I always get caught up in cosplay making.

So, while this is far from the anniversary post I wanted to make, I wanted to say: thanks for stickin' around with me, and I hope anyone reading this will continue to support Obey Me! with me! I had always been discouraged from writing fanfic, so to be welcomed by such a lovely community was incredibly wonderful. Thank you.

I don't know if that anniversary post will be my next one, or if I'll get the itch to write something shorter and post that first, but there's so much I have to finish and so much I want to write that I won't be running out of ideas any time soon.
