idk how to answer this in character but i think theres something interesting re the apple of knowledge being the corruption of all mankind

ignorance is agnus' one true barrier against having her soul damned or whatever. if she understood the mechanics of sex, if she chose to participate in it, if she knew where a baby came from, she is complicit in her own failings as a servant of god

the only way for her to come out unsullied is sheer, unadulterated denial her mind will not allow her to understand what shes done in her quest to be a perfect christian, she clearly has like, deep issues re just neutral aspects of the human experience, like being fat, and viewing them as inherently negative

obviously harrow isnt ignorant and actively seeks to gain more knowledge, but in doing so she is sinning, and she knows that shes sinning

in canon her singleminded goal at age 9 is to open the tomb, for the simple fact that shes run out of ancient secrets to crack. she was born doomed and this solidifies it. in ooctlt shes out in the world, shes learning things and her worldview gets more complicated by the day, she cant have easy balck and white opinions on things

in many ways ignorance and damnation offer the same kind of freedom. one is to have sin thrust upon you completely out of your own control or wants, and the other is to seek out that corruption becuase it has already happened. harrow is aleady wretched she wont go to Double Hell

i think harrow would just be fascinated by the whole rationalization on the other side, a side she has never in her life experienced becuase her parents told her day one she is the result of a horrible thing and must carry that always

i’m so happy that harrow found someone to financially support her lifelong passions of “sitting on the chests of elderly people as they sleep so that they can’t breathe” and “appearing as a blurry figure in the corner of cctv footage taken in haunted hospital basements”!
