Why am I just now realizing, after fucking 4 years, that Bucky giving the notebook to Raynor at the end of TFATWS isn’t just ab him finishing his amends? That it’s actually symbolic of him letting go of Steve and making peace with the fact he’s gone. Was this obvious to everyone? Am I just completely stupid? How did I not pick up on that for 4 YEARSSS???

Speaking of a “dead” fandom. Do you have a list of Stucky blogs to follow? I need to follow more and go through my followers list for fandoms I’m not in anymore but… also maybe that would help some people who are new to the fandom as well? 🎉

Mandy, my love! Great idea, thanks for asking! ❤️ It's been a really long time since I did a blog rec list, because I am genuinely terrified of missing anyone out and potentially making someone feel bad 🙈 That would never be my intention, obviously!

But I swear, from the bottom of my heart: if you're not on this list and you feel like you should have been, it was most likely just one of those brain = sieve things and nothing personal at ALL. Which is also why I want to wholeheartedly encourage anyone who also considers themselves a Stucky-centric blog and would like to be added to this list to let me know/drop a comment in the notes/reblog with a note etc. etc. The more of us the merrier!!

Also, if you're included in this list but you would rather not be, for whatever reason, let me know and I'll remove you! No hard feelings. Do you see Chris and Seb as more girl dads or boy dads? Cause they've played both kinds of characters. Personally I can't stop seeing them as girl dads, mostly because Chris has had two roles where he's a soft uncle/dad to a little girl (plus there's all the cuteness of him and Mckenna Grace), and Seb's character was such a good dad in once upon a time. (Their reunion scene made me tear up when I watched it). Either way of course they'll both be such good dads. Especially since they've had practice with Dodger. Do you think they'd have different parenting styles? Idk if they'd be good cop/bad cop, but would Chris's mother Henning tendencies mean he's more likely to spoil their kid? Lots to think about.

Ooohhh good question, really good question. Well, I could definitely see both, I think they'd be amazing at raising girls and boys. But in terms of what I find easiest to picture, I would probably also go with girl dad, by a close margin. Probably mostly because of the roles you mention!

I think their parenting styles would align pretty well, to be honest 🤔 My first instinct was to say Sebastian might be just a little bit stricter with them on account of his own upbringing, but then I remembered that Chris said Lisa was also a pretty strict (though very loving!) mom! You're right, Chris does have motherhenning tendencies, but I'm not 100% sure if that would manifest mostly in spoiling their kids, or in making sure they always brush their teeth/take their supplements/finish their homework in time etc. I feel like Sebastian might be the one who sometimes derails bedtime because he's goofing around with the kids so much, while Chris looks on fondly but a little exasperatedly 💗 🥹

Overall, I feel like they'd be very good about stimulating their kids to try different hobbies without being pushy about it. They'd let them try piano lessons or soccer practice or theatre or whatever they liked, and if the kid didn't want to continue, they'd accept it and let them try something different. And if they did like something, they'd be super supportive about it, practising at home with them and showing up to rehearsals and recitals and matches etc. 🩷

Long story short, I think they'd have similar, and definitely complementary parenting styles!Definitely both extremely loving and supportive, always happy to listen and talk things through with their kids if they were upset about anything or didn't understand something, and always in their corner ❤️

Something that helps me when my own mind is clouded by anger. Before you post that comment, say that thing, or whatever, take a moment and ask yourself: would enacting this actually fix the problem, or would it just slake the lizard-brain part of my psyche that's howling for blood?

Alternately: would both Steve and Fred Rogers approve of the action I'm advocating? Because if you wouldn't be able to convince both Captain America and Mister Rogers that what you're calling for is the right thing to do, you probably shouldn't be calling for it. (Hat tip to @steverogersnotebook for formulating the Two Rogers Rule.)

One of the most important things to unpack and unlearn when you’re part of a white supremacy saturated society (i.e. the global north) and especially if you were raised in an intensified form of it (evangelicism, right wing politics, explicit racism) is the urge to punish and take revenge.

It manifests in our lives all the time and it is inherently destructive. It makes relationships and interactions adversarial for no good reason. It undermines cooperation and good civic order. It worsens some types of crime. It creates trauma, especially in children.

Imagine approaching unexpected or unacceptable behavior from a perspective of "how can this be stopped, and prevented" instead of "you’re going to regret this!”

Imagine dealing with a problem or conflict from the perspective of “how can this be solved in a way that is just and restorative” instead of “the people who caused this are going to pay.”

How much would that change you? How much would that have changed for you?
