OC's with the simplest vs. complex design?

I've gotta be honest! a lot of my oc designs are pretty simple i think coz I wanted to put them in comics or other media so I try not to make things too hard for myself and the simplest by far would have to be Mono from the h+h cast (tho admittedly they started as a random mascot/fursona character) but they're just basic shapes so any extra details would come from outfits and other "forms" (tho that's for the comic to elaborate on)

HOWEVER- I think the ones I've struggled most with are some of the cast from JtN coz i wanted the fantasy kids to have cool/fancy gear like in the rpg games that inspired me so while the og concepts look like this-

^one of the og concepts for Elias, who was meant to be a sort of recurring mentor/mysterious advice guy, based on my player character in Unison League

^early concept for Sprig, the former "bard" turned archer who joins Robin and Dai's party later on in the story

i'm probably gonna change em ^^;;

There's also Andromeda from h+h who I've yet to even make a proper base ref for mainly coz i keep having to fight my inner perfectionist about the hair and then working out her legs =v=;;

I will say I don't want to completely abandon details for some of the cast and maybe save more elaborate looks for one off illustrations but a lot of these critters are pretty simply designed xD

he is a MAJOR crash king. he has a singular brain cell and he does not use it hehe

hes got sharp teeth and a dirty blonde fluffy mullet that usually covers his eyes.

he actually is very good at fighting, when he needs to be!!

hes tall and lanky and has a diagonal scar from his cheek to his nose from a clap with some dracs.

he hatesssss firefights and hes not very good at shooting, so he usually carries around a knife! he still uses his gun though, just not often.

he likes zone five the most and is debating finding a place there to live, but he currently lives on the cusp of zone three and four.

he does have a group, but im still developing them :]

I used to be So obsessed with her and always drew her a lot but i never Actually Developed her so why not do it right now . i’ll let her free from the cages of my mind and allow her to roam and finally potentially interact with the Psychonauts World and all of its Wonders…

She’s made herself a home somewhere in the Questionable Area? because i think it would be funny . She and Sam could make tons of food and stuff in that ummm the Lumberstack Diner (???) . i think they’d have fun (they’d be screaming and it’d be pure chaos maybe…)

This ref(?) is old by a Couple Months but i still like to use it . and these bottom last ones are mostly recent . except the obvious absolute last one from Last Year

actually i don't think i've ever properly posted about her on this blog ever. huh. well then!

so Eliza here (full name Elizabeth Hatford) is my main Haunted Mansion oc! basically, she's the adopted daughter of the Hatbox Ghost and Beating Heart Bride. personality-wise she's very friendly and outgoing, but not exactly the smartest. her favorite pastimes are sewing and pranking the hell out of any mortals (or even ghosts) she takes a liking to.

trivia i guess:

she doesnt have any sort of blood in her body, not even in her "mortal-passing" form, so she can't blush or bleed. however, for some strange reason, her tears are blood red.

she technically has two causes of death; she fell (or rather, was pushed) into a swamp and almost drowned, and was then beheaded to make sure she was completely... taken care of. she's now terrified of water and still can't swim, but on the plus side she can take off her head for tricks just like her dad can.

her heart locket is her most prized possession, and she never takes it off, nor lets anyone touch it; the sole exception to this was ironically on the night she died, as she left her locket with Hatbox for safekeeping that day
